A too-short miniseries full of captivating art and a vague, easy-to-follow corporate dystopian setting.
Really wish this series had been given room to stretch its legs, maybe 8-12 issues? Even that might be too long. A bit more in the beginning and the middle would have made it something I could really talk about, but as it is, this 3-issue series is a pleasant visual journey without much to dig into.
I love the ending, with our main two women using the love of weapon-mom to bring Sam back to life in a little boy. The last image of the three of them hugging was a beautiful bow on this three-issue package.
If Nick Dragotta ever wants to revist Ghost Cage, I would pick it up with excitement. I think he hit on something in this that was also present in Chainsaw Man, and many people including myself would love to see those kind of ideas expanded on. More talk about physical manifestations of the non-physical things humanity experiences! More strange and surreal beings! More gorgeous, warping art that spans pages and becomes almost difficult to parse!
