Dru North has far more substance than the party-boy reputation given to him by the media, which is why a quiet holiday in Little River is just what he needs. From the moment he meets Amber Miller, who’s staying across the hall, sparks fly, and a magical Christmas party leads to an impulsive kiss.
While Dru is eager to get to know Amber during the quiet vacation, she’s wary of his reputation and his riches. She challenges him to take her on twelve dates before she’ll consider their relationship anything more than a holiday fling—a feat given the fact that she’s only in town for ten days.
Amidst the big family holiday Dru has always dreamed of having, Amber finds herself trusting with every “date” that Dru isn’t the bad boy she thought him to be. But his insistence that this can be more than a holiday fling has Amber worried about the future. Dru’s a famous country star with money to burn, and she’s just a teacher. Are their worlds too far apart for a happily ever after when the Christmas magic is over?
A sweet winter romance set in the small town of Little River! For fans of clean romance and romantic comedy.

During her early years of reading, Ranee` S. Clark devoured fantasy books, which continued into her adulthood—since she often believes that a well-written romance novel is a delightful fantasy. Though raising three boys can sometimes hamper both romance with her own Mr. Charming and her writing, she tries to get a little of both in every day. And most of the time she succeeds.
This is a perfect Christmas novella. Amber and Dru meet while she's visiting her family for Christmas, Dru, a country-rock star is trying to have a Christmas out of the spotlight. Not only do they share an immediate attraction, but they're really comfortable with each other. Because of a previous relationship with someone way about her financial status, Dru's bad-boy image, and the fact that she's only there for the holidays, Amber is hesitant to get involved with Dru.
I loved their 12 dates and how Dru tried to count the movie and hot chocolate and french fries afterward as two dates! Lol. I liked that Amber made him start to rethink the image his record company and manager/publicist had established for him, since it didn't portray who he really is. Having a guy give you a puppy and sing to you is pretty swoony too, although I'd prefer a cat to a dog. I loved the banter between them--it was more like they were friends than people who had just met.
I really enjoyed this novella which can be read in a couple of hours. It's a clean romance but still swoony. I received a complimentary copy but ending up buying a copy from Amazon for my personal library.
This was a fun and easy holiday novella, with plenty of Christmas spirit. I rather enjoyed Dru more than Amber- he was interesting with his secret wholesomeness hidden behind his carefully crafted public image. I didn't see the appeal of Amber as much- her character seemed to me more two dimensional and a tad self-centered. It prevented me from connecting with their emotions and feeling invested in their relationship. The impulsive kiss between strangers felt off, also removing any romantic tension/anticipation. My favorite parts were with Dru and his interactions with other secondary characters.
(I received a complimentary copy of the book; all opinions in this review are my own)

My Opinion: The characters have great personalities and you can connect with their feelings. The families are amazing and the interactions were very cute. And Dru is the sweetest. (Audiobook free on the Author's Youtube Channel - Read by AI)
Christmas magic is definitely in the air when country star, Dru, falls hard and fast for Amber, a girl with major trust issues. I get that people have challenges to overcome, but when a guy like Dru lands in your lap, I want those issues to suddenly disappear--just give the guy a chance! This is a guy who bends over backwards to win her over, but she's a hard sell. Amber, I'll take him if you don't want him, hah. I really wanted her to get over herself and let him in.
There's something so cozy and warm about a small town romance, especially set during the holiday season. I love how each date unwraps another layer to Dru's character and how he charms the reader, along with Amber. Obviously, Dru is my favorite and I want him to find true love and happiness.
The characters and this setting bundled my heart right up, tight and snug. This is a fun little story for the Christmas season.
This was a sweet, clean and great romance. While this was a novella and so some story line or scenes couldn't go as in depth. However, the writing and story is still solid. I think this would translate well to a lovely Chirstmas movie of the non cheesy variety. Dru was just perfect and I love this being a series. I enjoy cameos of previous characters. This could be a read as a stand alone. This story had plenty of happy sigh moments. Ranee Clark has a talent. This book is great for a nice cozy read to unwind and for a relaxing time.
This is super cute Christmas romance. It was just a lot of fun to read, with witty banter and sweet moments. This is a great choice for those looking for a clean, light-hearted book to read at Christmastime. I read an ARC provided by the author. All opinions are my own.
Amber can't believe her eyes, there across the hall from her room here at The Ranch stands Dru North, country music star in all his handsome glory! Then he sees her and seems stunned? He then asks her if he can escort her downstairs to the party. Of course she accepts! After dancing several dances they go outside to the firepit. After a few minutes of conversation he notices that people are looking out the window at them and he wants nothing more than a few private moments with Amber so takes them closer to the house and into the darkness. He can't help himself he kisses her. Only she puts a stipulation on their next kiss they have to go on 12 dates before he can kiss her again and then she goes inside. He is left to wonder how he can accomplish that task when she is only going to be visiting her family for 10 days! So he decides to recruit Roxy and her sister Katie! What happens next? Will he be able to kiss Amber again before she leaves? Only one way to find out, read this great short story by Ranee S. Clark.
This was a cute little Christmas novella romance in Raneé Clark’s Love in Little River series. Dru was such a green flag - a sweet guy with a bad-boy image that his media team pushes. Amber is not my favorite. She keeps trying to insist that Dru is just a Christmas fling and refuses to believe him when he says he genuinely likes her and wants more. She believes the media over him and makes up tons of excuses as to why they can’t be together. Dru proposes at the end and I just can’t see how they’re going to work that out because Amber doesn’t want anything to do with Dru’s fame and money and loves her job as a teacher - so where will they live? Meh. Whatever. It was still a cute, short read.
I reqlly wanted to like this book more but I couldn't. I didn't like Amber at all. She madr Dru feel bad for having money and for having an image with the media that helped his career when it wasn't his fault. Like WTH? He showed time and time again that she was the one he really cared for and that what the media said wasn't really him but she kept trowing things in his face. That man was such a good person, I loved him. He deserved so much better than her
Super cute, sweet Christmas story. It was the perfect short story to escape reality.

Such a sweet story! Ranee has described and developed the personalities of her characters so well, I really wish I could spend Christmas with the Milker family! Real situations, real problems and real solutions. I loved this book as much as Roxie’s Song!!! Looking forward to book 3!!!
This was a quick but cute read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I loved going back to Little River Ranch! I would rate this sweet and clean, PG for sweet kisses.
I enjoyed it. "Billionaire" stories aren't really my thing, and that's essentially what this seemed like, so i probably won't reread it. But i did take enjoy that it was sweet and tender and respectful.
This is the first book I've read by this author. It was a Christmas romance. I enjoyed the story..I loved the short chapters. That always makes me want to read just one more before I have to put it down. I am looking forward to reading more of her books. Highly recommended.
I liked everything about this book and all the characters were wonderful. I highly recommend it to everyone. I can’t wait to read the next book in this, which I plan to start reading in a few minutes.
I wondered at first because im not a holiday fling kind of girl. But it turned out to be cute and completely sincere. Love Dru. Liked that they really got to know each other so it wasn't just physical. On to the next book.
This is such a fun, sweet story. Crazy kids, fun family and Christmas activities. Dru and Amber are a sweet couple who are so different but have such great chemistry. Great, fun, quick read.
Dru is smitten when he first meets Amber. She is smitten, too, but the story would be uninteresting if it ended there. He has some work to do to win her over.
This was a cute story. I thought Amber was a bit tough on him, but it wasn't without cause.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was sweet, short and all things Christmas! I read it just before Christmas and it was festive and had lots of swoon! My favorite combination!
This was a cute Christmas story. Amber living a quiet life as a teacher. Dru living as a rock star, but trying to live a quiet life. Can their love keep them together?
