I love urban fantasy, and there's a lot to like about Hunted: Book 1 of the Shadow Realm Banshee. The main character has a cool set of powers, and her family is super interesting.
I think this world has a lot of story potential, and I can't wait to see where Guard takes the next book.
If anything I wish that this book had been longer, with some more world building and more involvement from each character. We are teased with snippets about the supernatural world, Hunter's partner, and the MC's aunt, and all of their stories and interactions could have been expanded upon to build the story without losing any of that fast pace that made this story a fun read. I would have definitely paid a little more for an expanded book!
I think this is a super entertaining book and it was a fast and fun read! 5 stars!
I don’t usually take the time for written reviews, but I figured Hunted deserved a mention. I wasn’t too sure what to expect going into a debut novel from an author I’ve never heard of, but this book exceeded all my expectations.
Hunted is extremely fast paced, and I would have loved some slower moments to give more detail to the characters and settings, but the story itself definitely makes up for this! There’s no way you can’t fall in love with Avery and Hunter and the story they create together. I am in love with the world CE guard has created. This book has it all; the suspense, the tension, the drama, the magic, the big bad, and the friction between potential lovers.
I’m so glad I stumbled onto this book, and this author. I can’t wait to see what these characters do next!
Good book, it was very face paced and kept me wanting to continue reading it. The storyline was good and easy to follow but it could use more depth into the characters and their relationships.
