I mean it's Y.A., and it's about Paris... So it was a perfect page turner for a sick day albeit the copious "ohmygods" and "duhs." And since I have an affinity for "younger books," I enjoyed it in the same way you enjoy a hot fudge sunday with gummy bears on it.

Note: It's definitely a tale of rich WASPy girls, frolicking around with endless amounts of money to spend on ça and ça and ça... but instead of rolling my eyes in envy/contempt, I just allowed myself to swept away into a the affluent fantasy land. :)

Drama YA yang ringan, dan kocak, meski agak bingung-bingung juga sama istilah-istilah modenya, tapi tetep bisa menikmati kok
ga sabar nunggu terbit terjemahannya, semoga cepet ^__^

A light-as-a-feather young adult novel, in the spirit of Clueless, and similar books and films about rich, spoiled fashion-conscious teens (but not quite as clever).

Appearance-obsessed New York teen Imogene, who contributes to a fashion site, and her best friend Evie end up in Paris to cover Couture week for Imogene's editor, but things go haywire when the models go on strike.

Imogene, of course, finds a way to save the day!

Fun illustrations, lots of smart details...but a few now unfortunate references to "The Donald" (this book was published in 2007 before his rise in politics), so it is a bit dated.

Book Review:

1) I decided to read this book because I'm a girl and I like fashion and this book, at first glance, assured me that it will have fashion in it because of the title.

2) I found the characters of Imogene and Evie both interesting. Since they found something hidden from the people's eyes -for a long time- without the owner's name, they decided to make use of it and present it to their supervisor. Though they didn't say it was their designs, their supervisor assumed it was their close friend's and throughout half of the book, both girls were trying to come up with ways to find the rightful owner/s of the thing they found through some funny mishaps here and there and also quite a lot of major and minor problems along the way too. I found them interesting because they didn't lie to the people and claimed the thing despite all the publicity it gave them, but instead they decided to tell the people the truth during a main event which could also ruin their careers. Thumbs up for their honesty.

3) "There really is a fashion police!" Although this line was said by a supporting character, I still found it interesting. Not because it's about life or something deep like that, but because it was said during a situation which got everyone to be tense and stiff and shocked and a whole lot of other emotions whirling around them. When the girl, Spring, shouted this it led to a situation where Imogene and Evie never thought they would be in and the "fashion police" then explained the whole situation to the girls and enlightened them. It was quite funny.

4) Even if this book is mainly about fashion, it made me think of something completely different. It made me think of honesty. It made me think of those celebrities we see on magazines and in the news and in our tv and newspapers and all those sorts, which a lot of teenagers, like me, look up to. It made me think of exactly how honest are they to the public. They probably have two personalities: one in front of the camera and one off-camera. It makes me think of how they live their life... Is it actually what they tell us? But I'm sure it's not, because being a celebrity is nerve wracking because whatever you say is going to lead up to something completely different. So I think they lie to save themselves to be judged by the public. And it doesn't only apply to celebrities, it applies to us too. Whether we admit it or not we know we're not completely honest to people and sometimes even to ourselves and we get blinded by something that's not worth it which can lead up to a whole lot of different problems. So we should try and be honest to ourselves as much as possible and stop pretending. They say "The truth will set you free." so we should start living an honest life and live our life to the fullest without hurting ourselves and living in guilt because you lied.

Perryman EI H-SRP 1Q Fiction Book Review
In author Lisa Barham's book Project Paris she exhibits fashion and demonstrates overcoming obstacles through humor and imagery in order to entertain the reader. Project Paris by Lisa Barham was about Imogene and Evie heading to Paris for the summer of their dreams. Imogene is psyched to cover Couture Week for the company, Hautelaw, that she works at. Disaster strikes when the models go on strike and Couture Week is cancelled. That is until Imogene and Evie discover Monsieur X. One of the major themes of Project Paris is overcoming obstacles and, of course, fashion was, too. Overall, Project Paris was pretty good, really entertaining, fun, and girly.
One theme is overcoming obstacles, which reoccurs often with many difficult obstacles. One obstacle Imogene has to overcome is getting over her kind of ex-boyfriend Paolo. Another obstacle Imogene has to overcome is finding Monsieur X, so she doesn’t get fired. She also has to deal with the Wolfe Pack, a group of spoiled mean girls. The theme of fashion reoccured a lot because Imogene is into fashion. She works for Hautelaw, which is a company in the fashion industry. Her best friend wants to be a fashion designer. Imogene writes a fashion column. Imogene chases down an amazing designer known as Monsieur X. The most entertaining scene was when Leslie revealed himself to be an undercover Customs agent who is tracking down diamond smugglers: “They are diamond smugglers. And this” he said, poking his gun at Fitz, “is François Fitz Gilbert, one of Europe’s most notorious diamond smugglers” (Barham 211).
In conclusion, Project Paris by Lisa Barham was a good book. The themes were fashion and overcoming obstacles. Barham conveyed the themes well. All the characters were really enjoyable except for Imogene being whiney That’s why I’m gonna give it four out of five stars.

Imogene is back, after her introduction in A GIRL LIKE MOI.

She is fabulous, as usual, and spending her summer in Paris with her best friend, Evie, and is accompanied by her cute little dog, Toy.

Don't think her summer is all fun and games -- she has her work cut out for her, by running Hautelaw Paris for spring. During her stay in Paris, her job is in danger when the models for fashion week go on strike and fashion week is canceled.

But then Imogene and Evie discover ''Monsieur X," an unknown fashion designer, get stuck in the middle of a counterfeit bag deal, and life gets even more hectic.

Read how Imogene gets tangled up in her own web of lies. Read how she saves fashion week, dresses to kill, and manages boys and lipgloss. Also, after she and Paolo are over, maybe there will even be a new summer love? Will Imogene remain composed, or absolutely lose it?

Find out in PROJECT PARIS.

This book was easy to rate. This book is about two best friends that travel to Paris in search for fashion ideas. The book is filled with adventure, romance, and humor. It will make you laugh, cry, and make you go crazy to find out what will happen next. This fabulous adventure made it easy for me to rate this book with 5 stars.
This book was a little difficult to read. The way the story was set up made it easy to follow but they would use french terms because the setting took place in Paris. I recommend this book to kids in Jr. High. I suggest this book to Jr High because this book is a little to juvenile for High School students but has too difficult words for elementary students. This book taught me that even in the lowest points in summer you should make the best of it before fall comes. This book is filled with excitement and adventure.

Project Paris was a really great book, I have had already read the first book in the series A Girl Like Moi and ,loved that one, so i had good feelings about this book! It was very entertaining and kept me wanting to read more and more. I thought Leslie was really funny and a nice addition to the book! The book was based of course off of Imogene who is now in Paris for her dream job! But of course it wouldn't be a party without the one and only Brooke who shows up to steal Imogene's dream job! I would recommend this book to anyone it is so fabulous!

This is a great light-hearted read about a fashion interns adventures, in Paris! The second in what is hopefully going to become a series, the story follows Imogene's summer in Paris and all that happens to her there (including a mysterious designer, a hysterical love life, and of course BFF's!) This is a great book if you don't have a lot of time, and are just looking for something that you can easily put down and come back to again.

Studying abroad is always an interesting way of learning new cultures and things. Paris is a place well know by its fashion and romance. I would love to travel to Paris for shopping and have some fun there, Even though the fact that I don't speak french may cause some problems. The book included many stylish pictures which are very catchy to reader's eyes, and sometimes words in French are helpful for learning. But sometimes it will make the story hard to understand.

If you're into fashion and France, you'll probably enjoy this book, as a good portion of it is just descriptions of clothing and Paris. The plot is completely dull and doesn't really even begin until the last third of the book. Imogene and Evie, however, do provide a certain charm and I admire them for their independence at seventeen years old.

A definite easy but fun and enjoyable read. The author Lisa Barham knows how to create a story which is lighthearted but wonderfully intriguing. Although the main characters are rich and into the material items: clothes, shoes, etc. they were very fun and loveable. I recommend people read her work yhou will love this book.

Okay, so I wasn't expecting MUCH from this one. I think it's the illustrated cover ... that style just doesn't impress me. Anyway, yes, the plot is predictable (and at times confusing) but it has cute wordplay and a heroine with heart. Not bad.

I started off really liking this book because the characters are charming and funny. But halfway in, once the core plot got underway, I started losing interest. I feel like this wasn't the right plot in which to feature these funny heroines.

Cuma cerita ringan untuk ngisi waktu luang. Sayangnya saya emang gak tertarik soal fesyen-fesyen jadi gak gitu ngena.
