When Mackenzie Walsh left the small town of Summer Cove, Maine, for college in California she had every intention of coming back home. But that was before she met Austin and snagged an internship at her dream company. She’s created the perfect life for herself in California, and Summer Cove will always be there, what’s the rush to go back?
A phone call from her mother about a family emergency catches her off guard, and soon she finds herself back home, in the cold, small town that she couldn’t wait to leave behind.
As she reconnects with Mads and Emma, her two best friends, and her ex-boyfriend Rigsy, she slowly starts to remember what makes the small town so loveable.
With Austin needing her back in California, and her family needing her in Summer Cove, she finds herself torn between the new life that she's created and the old one that she left behind.
A clean and wholesome story about friendship, family, and finding yourself when you didn't even know that you were lost.
Catherine Jones grew up in New England and spent endless amounts of time visiting Maine with her parents. Her family loved the small seaside town of Ogunquit, and often vacationed there.
Catherine fell in love with Ogunquit as well, which was her inspiration to write her first series, Crosby's Cove.
If you enjoy small town, wholesome women's fiction then you will love Catherine's books.
These stories emphasize friendship and family life.
I can see how this can be a relaxing and mindless summer read, but overall very minimal character development and a pretty unrealistic plot. Everything just kind of “worked out” and it’s your classic girl from city comes and applies her general marketing knowledge to help a small town - basically a hallmark movie. I didn’t understand how it barely featured her parents, given her father’s accident is why she went home. Overall it felt like this book was written by chatgpt. Good if you want a mellow read and glad to have read it for Jenna’s bach 🩵
Mac had always wanted to move out of Summer Cove. When she was accepted to UCLA her dream had come true. While studying business management at UCLA Mac met Austin and things had changed for her. Between school, her internship and work Mac had been away from Summer Cove for a while. One day she got a call from her Mom when she was on her way to work; there had been an accident. She had to return home. Her parents needed her to run the store.
The perfect book to read when you want to escape and relax. There's no difficult plots to follow or multiple character point of views, and the storyline flows. I liked the main character and would love a second book to follow up on all three of these girls (and Rigsy!! Love the name!)
Another hit by this author, she knows her small beach towns!
This is a lovely and wonderful story about three special women who have been best friends forever, lost track of each other for 4 years, but are back together forever❣️
I recently discovered this author and was anxious to read other books by her. I was not disappointed. I enjoyed this story and friendship between the three childhood friends. Anxious to read the second book.
