I don’t think Cassie Mint will ever be more than a three star read for me. Her books are too much inner monologue and the set ups too similar. It always involves two characters who have been jonesing for each other for a long time yet not allowing themselves to be together. Taboo I guess, and yet they seem to always get together so easily in the end that you wonder why they held off in the first place?
The taboo just ends up being contrived. Meh. This was an easy read but not anything memorable.

Kara has been Galen's personal assistant for a few years and has pined after him for just as long. She has no clue that Galen has been feeling the same way about Kara the whole time. This is about them finally letting the dam break and revealing their pent-up feelings :)

Galen is a silver fox for sure! He's the boss of Kara, who he adores but keeps at a distance. Kara loves him too... but he pushes her away. This was a quick, cute read albeit a little boring.

Aunque no es de los mejores de la autora me ha ganado la inseguridad de él con respecto a su diferencia de edad. No es lo más común de ver. Es normal la reticencia por la diferencia de edades pero en este caso es verdadera inseguridad. Me ha resultado tierno ver como se esforzaba por cuidarse o como quería intentar evitar por cualquier medio que ella reparara en esa diferencia, como si ella no se hubiera dado cuenta ya. Es muy tierno ver como pretende conformarse con verla aunque sea de lejos a no verla para nada y como pierde poco a poco el control sbre sus emociones.

Okay the best part of this one was definitely that our heroine made the hero pay and suffer a bit for his mess up. I like that she really made him squirm and didn’t just have BBS or something. It was a good read.

This was a fun fast read that showcased an age gap romance that had great angst and some poor choices ;) Kara was sweet and so into Galen. She saw his soft insides but he didn't think he could get over their age difference... I enjoyed following these two along their bumpy journey to an HEA, and loved the peak into their future :)

it was good but could’ve been better.

I liked this one but it wasn’t my favorite. I really didn’t like that the heroine felt the need to go work for someone else. She and the hero had a great work chemistry, they worked better together than separate, so it made no sense for her to leave and spend the majority of her time working for someone else. Life is short. Too short to squander opportunities to be with the one you love.

Other than that irksome bit, it was good. Lots of yearning and all the usual swoony feelz

Safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned at all but it kinda implies he’s been celibate for years. Heroine is a virgin and belongs only to the hero. No others, no cheating, no abuse of any kind. HEA with epilogue years out

Nahhh

I think I’ve read all of the author’s backlog. Age-gap is one of my favorite tropes - love a good daddy - and a workplace romance can be juicy. This book however is quite underwhelming to me. It seemed like 80% of the story was narrative… we’re basically told the story vs getting to see much of it play out.

Omg this book spoke to me in a really satisfying way. I was totally contented reading this and I really didnt want it to end but I was also very happy with the ending... I'd say this is a new favourite from this author, maybe even my top choice by her, which was a surprise as I love her earlier books still. I really enjoyed both main characters... and who doesn't love a good billionaire boss romance. Its that little tease of the forbidden that makes you crave more and end up reading it all in one go, and then have it stay with you, even after you've finished, as its just the right amount of everything you need in a romance like this. The storyline was like a hook, line and sinker... pulling you in until you feel part of the story. I cannot wait to read more from this author... soon please!!!.

Kara is Galen Onasis assistant. Kara has been his assistant for three years but she wants to be so much more. Galen loves Kara but thinks he is way to old for her. Galen is pushing 50 and Kara is half his age. But they love each other and need to be together. This is a fast steamy age gap romance like all the age gap romances. He thinks he is too old, she does not care about the age difference. This is a fast steamy read with lots of love but I didn't feel there was anything new here. But I do love the way Cassie Mint writes her love stories, always giving perspective from all her characters. I did enjoy the book immensely.

After Galen is gifted a muffin for breakfast, he realizes he has gotten to the point where Kara has become irresistible. He pulls away, putting distance between them.

Kara sets out to find another job. Feeling rejected, she feels the time has come for her to make changes. Then she gets a great explanation from Galen as to why he's stepped away.

Will his declaration satisfy Kara?

The story is okay.
I kind of question how these two were able to work for 3 years like this, but then just all of a sudden things come to this point in the book.
The book is safe.
No cheating.
No other man/other woman drama.
Cute ending with epilogue 3 years later.
All of this would've been great and would be fine, but there's not a whole lot to the story beyond Galen complaining about his age and being too old for Kara. While Kara acts a bit insecure when Galen doesn't act upon his feelings in the workplace.

Galen is Kara's boss but to him she is in charge. He has an obsession with her and finds it hard to keep his hands and mind off of her. Kara has a big crush on her boss, but she hides it. When thigs get out of control for Galen and he pulls Kira into his arms he distances himself from her and in doing so sends the wrong message to Kara. When Kara's resignation letter lands on his desk Galen makes is feelings known to Kara. Will these two finally be on the same page regarding their feelings and will it lead them to a happily ever after?

I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily leaving my review. Galen and Kara have been obsessed with the other for some time, but he is her boss. They have a few obstacles in their way, mainly caused by his denial. I liked both of the characters. The story is short, sweet with plenty of dirty thoughts and finally acceptance. I liked how in control Kara's character was while she dealt with her feelings and his actions.

Galen and Kara

I love the mood OM the writing of the story. Slow and intense. Kara is Galen's PA. She has been working for him for three years and in love for the same amount of time. Theirs was a nothing mire than professional relationship until the day she brought him a homemade muffin. Great plot, likeable characters and sweet and heartwarming romance. Highly recommended.

The author has given us a wonderful older man/younger woman story that pulls us into the lives of Galen and Kara and does not let go. Kara is his personal assistant but dreams of being so much more. Galen feels a connection with her but sees their age difference as an obstacle. What will it take for their true feelings to surface?

What happens when Kara decides she can't work with Galen any longer? I loved how Galen decided it was time to prove to Kara how he felt. This story was great and their relationship was wonderful.

For such a quick read, again this author packs an emotional punch. Kara has been Galen's personal assistant for three years. They are very close, can almost finish each other's sentences. She knows his preferences, his needs and admires him to the moon and back. The attraction she feels simmers in the back of her mind 24/7. After resisting his feelings for so long, Galen starts to crack, never wanting to take advantage of his position and their close working relationship. Every moment between them feels so intimate, passion flowing just under the surface. Watching this self made man crumble under the weight of his desire for his assistant was everything, 5 stars!

Both are in love with each other,but think their not enough. Amazing short reading!
Cassie Mint is my favorite author when it comes to short reads. One of the things I like most about her reading style is the ease with which she makes us fall in love with her characters.
An office romance where the two are reluctant to lose what they have, and restrain their emotions and desires until the rope breaks. Sweet, hot, swoon whorty!.

I thought that this was a really good book. Galen wants Kara like nothing before and believes that he is too old, not good enough, and his assistant. Kara wants Galen but as her boss, he is completely off limits. These two have a great connection and chemistry and while they have a little bit of a bumpy road, these two get a great HEA.

it was ok, it didn't really feel like they had been working together for 3 years already more like a couple of months if that, i wish we could had know if the H had been with anyone else during that time (im choosing to believe not) because it seemed like he was only recently interested in the h with the way somethings are said. as i said it didn't seem like years just a few months with the way the where acting together.

I liked this story. It was entertaining but I kept thinking how long would they have continued to wait?!? Three years she had worked for him and neither of them made a move?!? It did get me out of my own head and it was enjoyable. I kind of loved the brief flashes of insecurity on Galen’s part about being considered a Silver Fox since that’s not really something I see in any of the books I read. I loved their happily ever after. I recommend reading this book.

I liked this story a lot. Kara was as sweet as they come but had her business side on point. I liked the fact that she went to work for a different company. Conversely, Galen is hot and bossy, but not pushy. They are such a great couple.
