What a delightful mystery! It’s evocative, intriguing, gorgeously dark and utterly compelling. As regards the cast of characters, I can say that they are real, with good personalities that are well developed throughout the pages and yet they aren’t stereotypical. The story itself is an intriguing slow burn of a read which I savored every moment of and which glued me to my sofa since I didn’t want to stop reading it. The elements chosen by the author are extremely captivating; I mean a device which allows people to travel in time is always a good idea. As a reader, I could feel in the characters’ shoes on their emotional ride. Definitely, Francis Tint is an author to watch out for and I'm completely anxious waiting for the next book of the series.
A compelling mystery “The Glimmer” is the first book in the series called “The Beryl” written by Francis Tint. It's an absorbing novel full of suspense and mysteries. The story revolves around Blake, a woman who works at Ashlea Edwards Scientific. After having a sort of premonition, she is determined to delve into the mystery that surrounds her vision.
Just by reading the first pages, I was glued to the book. It´s a well-written novel with a dynamic and complex character. Even though the novel has some traces of supernatural forces, the dialogues are so vivid that make the story realistic. I liked that as well as the turns and twists of Blake's life. It's an excellent first part that I highly recommend. For sure, I'll continue with the following books.
The Glimmer is the first book in The Beryl series by author Francis Tint, and it is a great story for those readers who enjoy mystery, science fiction and plots about supernatural topics. From my point of view, it is a very good start in a promising sci-fi saga.
The imaginative plot of the book is also interesting and captivating, and also the characters are well developed and the scenes well described. There is a nice balance of plot execution and characterization.
This is the first book I read from the author, and it will certainly not be the last one. I enjoyed this volume and will be keen to read more.
The Glimmer, by Francis Tint, is the first installment in a sci-fi series that looks really promising. The narrative is made up of different themes that coexist: LGBTQ, science fiction and science itself. These topics are totally appealing these days and the author’s writing style makes them even more appealing. Author Tint brilliantly exposes us to a hooking kind of narrative where the storyline becomes believable, even if impossible to happen in this era. It has really been an honor to read such a work of literature from this author and I can’t wait to read even more from him. It has been a real pleasure to make this Kindle version part of my virtual library.
The story had an interesting premise with an enjoyable supporting cast. I had a hard time connecting with the main characters but the science and plot was enough to keep me engaged. Definitely worth checking out.
Interesting story! The characters were easy to relate to, diverse as well. As the first book of a series, it does a good job to introduce characters and concepts for future development, while providing ongoing action and suspense. Looking forward to the next book of the series ...
