I really love a good chunk of the art and I'm a longtime fan of aviation and aviation art. There's one piece here that I'd first seen back when I was in middle school or high school at the latest and which I'm still a fan of. The central premise that the planes are the embodiment of birds is clever.
Now, what I really found myself disliking (and I'm sure it's not a problem for most people who would be fans of this book) is the mid-90s Lee Greenwood jingoism that the author is saturated in. I would have disliked it in 1995 too.
