The team is broken. Fear has replaced hope. But one chance remains.
After the devastating blow of the Coalition’s invasion of their compound, the Underground—especially their leader, Kane—has lost all confidence in their ability to help anyone. Quietly, they train for their next mission, not knowing when or if it will ever come.
Still wrestling with the doubts caused by her recoding, Perryn faces a painful question: what will she do if Willis is found? Though she once believed they were in love, her trust in Willis has been shattered. Facing him again is the only way to know if it’s been shattered forever.
In the hands of Solution Systems, Willis finds himself at the mercy of Dr. Campbell, the scientist authorized to carry out the Coalition’s intentions for the recoded prisoners. Using whatever means necessary, he hopes to make Willis his ultimate test subject for changing free will into obedience. Knowing his friends are unaware of his capture, Willis finds himself alone with only one familiar face—Jez, his betrayer.
When the Underground discovers Sandra, Kane’s wife, is still alive, Sheila and Lydia team up with an unexpected ally to reunite the couple. As the Coalition rises to subjugate the world once more, the team realize they must return to the Chase and seize their one shot to ensure the world remains forever free from the Law.
The third book in this Trilogy is a great conclusion to the story. I've read trilogies where the story falls apart in the end or I'm unhappy with the ending, but that is not the case here. All ends are tied up well and the characters all have their places in the end. Having read all three books, I can easily say that I recommend this read to anyone looking for a good and exciting YA dystopian fiction Trilogy.
This book is so amazing! it will encourage you and lift you up and on top of that its VERY well written. I would recommend this three book series to everyone.
Wasn't this book set on earth? Where was Jesus? Love conquers all? Certainly not human love. It can't change a heart or a human will. Ask anyone married for more than 5 months.
I liked the characters. I liked the set up. I just hated the take-home message. In reality, human love doesn't change anyone's broken, godless heart. Let's face it. If speaking the truth could unite people so completely, we wouldn't be having such culture clashes in the USA. I think the author meant it to be bigger, but, alas, it didn't come across for this reader. I needed to see Jesus in the action to believe in true change.
The Change is a fast-paced action-packed conclusion to the Chase Runners series. Caffee's crew of diverse characters face overwhelming odds as they try to free the world from the oppression of the Chairman and his interpretation of the Law, but fear and unbearable losses bring them to the brink. Caffee keeps the reader enthralled with nonstop action, powerful relationships, and excellent writing. I highly recommend the series, which is appropriate for middle grades through adults. A great ending to a great series!
A great conclusion to the trilogy! The author's fluid writing style made it easy to jump back into this story. I loved each POV character and getting to dig into what they're going through. Willis and Perryn continue to have compelling stories, and I really enjoyed the further development of Kane and Lydia in this installment.
This is a solid (and now complete!) trilogy for anyone missing the YA dystopian style of the Hunger Games.
Such an incredible series. Absolutely loved having a clean, YA dystopian where I couldn't choose a favorite character. It's hard to say goodbye to a lot of the characters, but I'm so grateful for how it concluded. Highly recommend!
The Change is a fast-paced and fitting conclusion to The Chase Runners series. Exciting heists and deep questions made this a really fun read. So excited to read the last book but sad to see the series end!
A must read conclusion to the Chase Runner series. If you are like me “The Choice” (book2) left you desperate for more. I had fallen in love with the characters and needed to know how everything would turn out. Wow did this action packed conclusion keep you guessing how it would all come to an end! Love the message and theme of this series more than any other. One I can truly connect to personally. I panic read, laughed, and even cried. This book and series is one great for Young Adults and Adult readers a alike. It’s a smooth easy read that I didn’t want to put down from beginning to end.
