M. J. Padgett is first and foremost a mom. Her free-spirited daughter has quite the vivid imagination, and her antics sometimes find their way into her mommy’s work. She is a lover of all things chocolate, a Grimm and Dickens addict, a self-proclaimed smarty-pants, and an introvert to the core.

Writing is her true passion (after raising her daughter, of course), and she writes as often as possible. One of her favorite things about writing is creating a world where people can escape reality for a little while, maybe even walk away feeling hopeful about the real world around them. When it comes to reading, she loves a book that can make her forget where she is no matter the genre. If she can get lost and feel like the characters are her real friends, she’s a happy reader.

Oh my gosh! 😍 Can I start gushing? Begin the gushing.

That was so so so good! The second one in this series I’ve read and it was so different and equally perfect! I GREAT friends to lovers story! It’s not a trope that is generally my favorite, but seriously people it was SO GOOD! This one was more sweet and tender than the last one, but it still had many moments of humor. Oh, I wish I could say more! My brain is jumping between the best moments all of which I can’t say! 😂 It’s a quick read. Highly recommend!

This story was sweet and charming with Hailey receiving a new kidney from an anonymous donor, but who is the anonymous donor? Was it one of her exes? Along her journey of finding her anonymous donor, she also rekindles friendships, embraces life, and encounters love. This is a clean read with great characters and a wonderful plot.

I Didn't See Any Of That Coming

Just Wow, there are so many surprises I didn't see coming. I had to binge read this book! Hailey almost dying, then an anonymous donor, then so many meetings with old boyfriends, then finding true love but with complications. It was just so good with an excellent ending.

Finding the Donor - Which Ex Donated?

Parents- PG- good for middle school to adults
Language- minimal to nonexistent
Violence- PG- nothing too graphic
Sexual Content- PG Kissing and references to living together but no real details

This has an emotional start with a girl dying from a liver tumor and on the waiting list to get a new liver. She gets an anonymous liver donation with a note saying that this guy still loves her and ending their relationship is his biggest regret. So she goes on a hunt through all the guys she dated trying to find her mystery donor with the help of her best friend and her sister. Can she get a Do-Over and finally find love? It was a really sweet and fun ride of romance with a little touch of comedy here and there. Really enjoy this author, she does a great job of creating relatable characters that you find yourself invested in their outcome. Definitely recommend.

Narrator- did a great job with the differentiations and was fun to listen to. I preferred 1.25x speed.

Audiobook: I enjoyed book 4 of the "A Life In Chatswain City" series. Hailey was at death's door and needed a kidney transplant in order to survive. An unknown person donated his kidney to her with the stipulation that it had to remain anonymous. After the surgery, Hailey decided to search for the secret kidney donor. The story was sweet and romantic. The characters were charming and delightful. Michelle Croll's narration was entertaining and kept my attention. I was given a free copy of the audiobook, and I have voluntarily posted this review.

THE BEST TYPE OF FRIENDSHIP
Narrated in a lovely clear up beat voice, this story was entertaining, sweet, confronting and the most beautiful romance.
I thoroughly enjoyed the humor, attitude and manner of communicating between these two childhood friends.
RECOMMENDED CLEAN ROMANCE.

The story was really cute, and the narration was good.
I liked how the character created (or re-created) friendships with past boyfriends, only to realize what was under her nose the whole time.

Really enjoyed this story. The characters were great, believable and fun and just the right amount of silly. This author has a knack for sweet funny stories and this was a great one.
