I’ve been underestimated my whole life.

It’s just how it is when you grow up a mafia princess. I’ve never really cared before, always happy to play my role within the family.

But when our enemy hits us where it hurts, the queen who lay dormant demands to be set free.

I want revenge for what they’ve done to our family, and nothing can stand in my way.

The only complication, my brothers best friend who took my innocence and disappeared eight years ago.

He’s back, and even after all these years, he sets by body on fire.

I can’t allow myself to trust him, not when my world is being torn apart before my eyes.

But, Everett has always been the only one to bring me peace, and that’s exactly what I need when we’re in the middle of a chaos.

Can I forgive him for breaking my heart? Or will our love be just another casualty of war?

Biggest pet peeve ever: they’re separate for years, he drives away any guy who’s interested in her and she’s celibate while he’s “fucked so many girls” he “lost count” 🙄

The double standard makes me want to throw up! Especially when he’s stalked her the whole time so it’s not like he was trying to move on with a fresh slate.

Not to mention, in second chance romances, I *hate* when the girl basically lets him right back in with no explanation!! Like he keeps saying he’ll tell her the reason he left later - ok girl! Then don’t let him back in without some answers and some grovel.

Frustrating!

We start off right when book 1 ends. Wynter and her whole family are dealing with there parents death and she gets a blast from the past. Everett the man who broke her heart AFTER SHE GAVE HIM HER VCARD.
I'll be honest I disliked Everett for awhile the way he stay away but near for 8 years ruining dates for her. BUT he would have sex and get bjs? And stalking Wynter though cameras.. nawww if he loved her his ass would have been celibate.. so yeah he made me annoyed and angry at him and how he was mine mine to Wynter when she didn't want anything to do with him. Wynter didn't let him grovel enough yes his reason for leaving was a good one but still he walks in like he owned the place. They had good chemistry but he still made me annoyed. Beside that they have war coming. And Wynter is the main target. She had one secert only her and her brother Storm knew and when she tells Everett he's mad he wasn't informed. But I'm glad she did go to BDSM clubs when they weren't dating she didn't sleep with anyone but she liked the vibes there until something happened.

Betrayal, Drama and more things coming for this family we end book 2 with a small hea/cliffhanger because there baby sister Snow is missing. And I think her relationship might be with the "enemy"

honestly I think this book would’ve been great without Everett. A book with just Wynter living out her BDSM life? Sign me up. Wynter’s a 10/10, Everett is like a 5/10 on a good day

3.75 stars!

Dead of Wynter starts off where book one ends with the whole family reeling from the murder of their parents. Wynter has taken the helm with Storm and they’ll do whatever it takes to exact revenge. But Wynter doesn’t plan on the love of her life coming back into the picture.

Everett took Wynter’s heart and virginity eight years ago and disappeared for safety reasons. But when her world falls apart, he can’t stay away anymore and he has a lot of making up to do.

“I’m not going anywhere ever again. We are going to happen again. I will have you like I should have all those years ago, whether you’re willing to admit it or not.”

Wynter doesn’t make it easy on Everett but these two were always end game and they need each other more than life itself.

“Why would you be rubbing your pretty little pussy for me if you didn’t still want me?” I ask, tugging her hand away from where she grips the sheets and bring her fingers to my nose. Her familiar scent only makes me harder, but it feels like coming home. “You smell so sweet, dove,” I murmur. “That’s the last orgasm you have without my permission.”

Danger swarms them and they’ll have to navigate their reunion and the threats building around them. Will they make it out?

I loved Wynter. She is so strong and fierce and in a league of her own. She’s loyal and vibrant. I loved that she yielded so much to Everett in the bedroom and I loved that Everett was dominant and demanding in all the right ways. Their love story was so hot!

“You were mine the first time we met, and mine every day that we were best friends, and every time I stole a kiss, or you allowed me to touch you, you became a little more mine. But it was when you trusted me with your heart and your body that you should have known you would never belong to anyone else again, Wynter.”

I really enjoyed this action packed and steamy story with elements of BDSM. This story had heartbreak and tears but it also had hope and triumph. Really well written story!

I want to start out by saying that I'm loving Montana Fyre's writing style AND this series because the suspense filled pages make my day. However, there was an issue that seriously pissed me off while reading which took away the utter perfection that the rest of the story was but first, let me give you a bit of detail. Wynter is in love with her brother's best friend, Everett, but after he was her first, he disappeared for eight years, and it broke her heart, but it did make her even stronger so there's that. He appears again at the worst time in her life, and she's none too pleased, but I feel like she forgave him a bit too soon since he couldn't even tell her why he left but I could get past that. It's the things in his inner monologue that really set me off because he made sure no one came near her but it didn't seem like he didn't do the same but I could even get past that (more questionable inner monologue). It's when he was having sexy times with Wynter, and his inner monologue was making it sound like she was one of many since he loved doing that in general while telling her to her face she was the only one for him that just felt unnecessary & left a bad taste in my mouth towards him. Thankfully, all the twists coming in hot, the action in spades, and suspenseful plot never slowed down kept me reading & only taking a half star away. I'm addicted to this series at the end of the day, so I HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND! {4.5 STARS}

Rating: 3.8-4 ⭐️stars - pretty good
Spice: 3.5-4/5 🌶️ spice (be aware of triggers)
Tropes: mafia, possessive, protective hero, dark scenes

I’ve been looking for mafia romances that are not the arranged marriage trope and where the woman is not a damsel in distress and this was exactly that.

The story is dual POV and follows Wynter, daughter to a mafia family, and Everett, the childhood best friend she loved who left her without a word after taking her virginity. After a family tragedy eight years later, Everett is back to help Wynter’s family in a mafia war and and has his sights set on Wynter, who he’s been, unbeknownst to her, stalking for years.

I loved the dynamic between Wynter and Everett. Wynter was not a damsel, and while the men in her family wanted her on the sidelines to be safe, she was having none of it and Everett mostly supported her. Also loved the family dynamic - brothers and sisters were good to each other. There’s also a protective, jealous, and obsessive edge to Everett - pure alpha male who’s obsessed with everything about her. I wasn’t expecting the BDSM aspect to their relationship, but it made sense and helped Wynter regain control of her life after an earlier assault.

Cons: I hated the double standard that in the eight years since they’ve been apart, Everett was allowed to sleep with women but Wynter wasn’t.

Tommy and Storm better get their own books.

Triggers: SA, BDSM, obviously violence since this is a mafia book

I’m loving this series 💗

I definitely liked the plot of this one more than the first one.

Since the first book I was curious of what happened to Wynter and Everett and why they couldn’t be together and here we saw why. Also I loved that in some of the chapters we were in the past and we could understand better what they were feeling and what happened in more detail.

I really love the main characters of this book. The fmc was more stronger than I thought and the mmc loved her and protected her even after all those years that they were apart and who his family was.

P.s I will be editing my rating of the first book.

Immediately dropped it to this book after reading the first one. The family dynamic captured me. I had to know the story behind Everett and Wynter!! All in all I really enjoy this book it’s kind of spicy- Little Dom/Sub stuff going on.

Again, I really enjoyed the book. I like the writing, it was easy to get sucked into it. Immediately downloaded book 3 after I finish this.

dominant

If you don’t like bdsm this book is not for you. Everett is most definitely a dom. He and Wynter have been in love since teens but circumstances separated them. Tragedy brings them back together and he’ll let nothing get between them again.

loving this series

This is not a standalone, it picks up where book one ends.

Wynter is not your stereotypical mafia princess, she is intelligent, smart and ruthless when it counts. Everett is her brother’s best friend that she has been in love with since they were younger. They have been apart for eight years so there are literal fireworks when they reconnect.
This series is addictive

Everett snd Wynter 3.5*

It was a good read but not as good as the first book in this series. To be honest I didn't like Everett very much. They have been separated for 8 years. He "disappeared " from Wynter's life after taking her virginity only to appear when her life came crushing down. The reason I didn't liked him very much was because he was demanding so much from her like he had any right after abandoning her for 8 years. Also, he kept refusing to explain to her his reasons behind his actions. I found Wynter annoying at times at how easily he let him in. Almost immediately after all the suffering and hurt he caused her. I kept rolling my eyes at those two to be honest but a soldier on because I enjoyed the subplot and wanted to know what would happen with their rivals.
Hope the characters in Fall of Snow are better but I am afraid to say that Snow sounds like a spoil brat already.

The first series set this book up really well for me, and it was all going well until we had a “steamy scene” that lasted over 70 pages. Like there’s slow burn (which I absolutely hate and refuse to read) and then there’s page 186-250…I almost DNF at that point and even then, I skimmed until the end because that scene was just so dragged out and boring.

Overall, these two had an interesting story and I’m mildly curious about Snow and Elijah BUT…I’m glad it’s not out yet because I doubt I would have jumped into another book by this author right away…maybe by September I’ll get over my issues and find it in myself to read the remaining books….

DNF! Ick ick ickkkkkk the hero and heroine were together 8 years before story takes place. He claims he’s in loveeee with her (literally stalks her) and doesn’t allow other men near her YET he’s “fucked so many women he lost count.” Gross misogynistic shit. BYEEEE!!!!! Stop writing books where the man does whatever tf he wants while the woman has to sit around waiting for him and be dutifully abstinent.

I didn't like it . You have a strong beginning with emotional breakdown which didn't continue the rest of the book . I stopped following the characters because long sex scenes which are boring . Sex consumed the book I had to skip so many pages to find something important until I stoped caring .I am sorry it wasn't what I want

This book was barely better than the first one just because the main characters are more likable. I also liked Rayne and Emerson better in this book as well.
The mystery and the action was kinda rushed there at the end but it was fine.
A little bit okay
A whole lot meh

You can read my review of When it Raynes on my blog, here: https://thepaperworlds.blogspot.com/2....

This review does not contain spoilers for Dead of Wynter. A list of trigger warnings can be found on Goodreads and in the beginning of the book.

TikTok... you have done it again. Right when I thought I was going to go on a mafia romance break, a video just had to pop up on my feed and here we are, continuing with the series. Dead of Wynter picks up right where When it Raynes left off, but we are now following Wynter, Rayne's sister, and Everett, the man who broke her heart years ago. You can feel the tension as soon as they come face to face with each other after years of being apart, and the dual POV really emphasizes how much pain they have been in without each other.

Things start off rocky between Wynter and Everett, but with the chapters short and moving quickly, we are shown their ever-evolving relationship. Even when Wynter was slamming the door in his face, Everett knows that he will never leave her again. She reveals some pretty vulnerable things about herself to him and why she reacts the way that she does, causing Everett to question how he was blind to the situation.

They have surprisingly great communication with each other, and are able to talk about a lot of traumatizing and vulnerable events that they have been through. The plot is definitely more structured than the first book, and flows at a rate that is still fast-paced, but still allowing for plot and character development to be well thought out. The BDSM aspects of their relationship require a lot of thought and slow progress as they become familiar with each other after eight years. Fyre does a great job on the smut scenes, and incorporates communication and vulnerability very well.

Still recovering from what the Russo family has done to them in the first book, the Frost family continues to be targeted and put in danger as Wynter and Everett's story continues to develop. They are all at risk, and with a potential mole in their organization, everyone is on edge and Everett refuses to leave Wynter's side.

Much like the first book, there is a decent amount of mafia politics that play a vital role in how close Wynter and Everett become, and we see the consequences of actions by both the Russo family and the Frost family on everyone's lives. A lot goes into play in keeping the girls safe and making sure that no one is hurt, and that means that Everett has to do things that he is not proud of.

We end with yet another wild cliffhanger that will leave you wanting more. The second installment of Frost Industries is even better than the first -- we get to see the familial relationships expand and see more to the rivalry between families, all while learning more about Wynter and Everett's past. I would definitely recommend this to fans of Fifty Shades of Grey and dark mafia romance readers.

Wynter is the FMC, Everett the MMC. I keep reading bc the author does a good job of leaving each book on a cliff hanger and I want to know what happens to each of the Frost family members. But this book was such a let down. It hyped Everett up in the legion of the Syndicate series and also in the first book “when it Reyns,” but this book is primarily smut with little plot. The plot could have been so much better and so much more. There was multiple opportunities that it could have been better and also there’s a difference between hot possessive men and then there’s Everett who I’m my opinion is toxic af. Both these books so far each guy has messed around with many women but the woman is the “innocent one”. multiple times it referred to how strong Wynter was but yet she would cry and mentally break down every chapter, when she had her chance to be strong she wasn’t. There was a pointless scene where Everett gets shot. Multiple occurrences where Everett is so obsessed with her and says he would never hurt her and then does. Multiple occurrences where she says she can’t trust him and never will again and then goes right into “I’ll always trust him”. There was also multiple times where it would end with them being in one position like on the bed for example and then the next chapter it would say “he walks over and towers over me”……??? Weren’t you just on the bed??? Multiple multiple times. Each book so far has had a anticlimactic ending with very little hard actually done to the fmc. it builds it up with the possesiveness of the MMC and then they get abducted but leave with some scrapes. They say these guys are big and bad but I want to see some real damage done, some real damsel in distress. I’m so conflicted but YES, the author does keep me intrigued and it’s a fast read. I love the interconnection to the syndicate which is my favorite series she has written. But it’s definitely not my favorite, needs improvement along with many grammatical errors.ALSO tell me why they were separated for 8 years and learning each other and the first thing they do is go into BDSM bull*hit. There was no love!No passion! Just jumps right into bonds he as if they hadn’t been separated at all. Doesn’t sit right with me.

Once again, another mafia bad boy ARC just happened to find its way into my kindle and low and behold, I’m gonna be reviewing Dead of Wynter for y’all!

If you like second chance romances and mafia bad boy genres, you’re going to love Dead of Wynter. You don’t usually see second chance tropes when it comes to darker books like this, so it definitely warmed my soul up when I realized it. This combination of tropes was perfectly written and integrated throughout the dual POV story.

I am absolutely in love with Wynter and her bold, powerful, and sassy nature. As a reader of this genre, I haven’t found a book where a woman takes a leadership role in the darker side of a mafia business, and it was so refreshing to see that in this book. I love how kickass Wynter was and confident when she called the shots, and how her second chance romance interest, Everett, supported her every step of the way. He didn’t diminish her calls or think she couldn’t handle it, but rather praised her every second he got. By the way, if you have a praise k.ink, you’re also going to love this book. The way Everett would call Wynter “good girl” multiple times definitely had me feeling something.

Now let’s get on to the fun part — the spice level. This book was super spicy, and as someone who loves some tension and spice, it was the perfect amount. It didn’t drag on unnecessarily long to the point where the plot was lost or forgotten, which is so incredibly important when you incorporate spice and a thrilling plot.

I loved this book so much, and I really hope y’all snag a copy! It releases today. Pro tip: buy “When it Raynes” first to get an understanding of the environment and story!

LOVED.

very dark, i mean obviously, it’s a dark mafia romance. way more mafia-y than the last one, wynter is really involved in Frost Industries and the mafia.

wynter gives me a some of Reese Vanderblit vibes, which I
LOVE SO MUCH. she is so badass and strong and independent and everything amazing in a women, she never lets her family down and is always there to protect which is so admirable even after she is like so fucking traumatized she should be pulling at her hair and rocking back and forth in a therapist’s office. everett is okay. Idk tbh. he’s sweet and shit just like, if i was wynter, I’d never forgive him. so that yk must be AMAZING. he is so caring about everyone and always knows what to say or do to help out his girl. of course, VERY VERY VERY MUCH protective and obsessive and possessive. all of the ives. he not only cares about wynter, but her sisters and brothers too. it’s rlly cute tbh.

yk i ATE UP the rayne and emerson crumbs throughout this book. damn straight it did omg. they are way too cute for me not to do anything what. i loved wynter and everett’s perspective about their relationship, about how it’s always “we need to protect emerson, rayne would die without her” and i loveeee that. the way they all already accepted her as family, as blood, is so sweet and i adore it. i wish Emerson and Wynter interacted a little more though yk?

The parents dying made me so sad stfu i actually likes them a lot, as a matter of fucking fact.

anyways um 4/5

Overall ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Spicy content 🌶🌶🌶 🌶/5
Spice quality 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥/5

This book starts off right where the first one ended, and I am so glad it did. I hate when the series has a massive time skip in the middle.
This book follows the lovely Wynter and Everett, she's a mafia princess who just lost her parents to thier enemy and he is the man that's been in love with her for 8 years but left her in the dead of night for her safety when she was 18.

It is full of suspense from the first page, and it just gets better.
The way that Everett is protective over her is just so adorable even though in the real world it would be red flag central.
However, that's why we like these books, right? lol. I love that we still see Emerson and Ryane from the first book in this series.

There is however trigger warnings for this one for a reason. There is trauma that Wynter has that could be considered triggering. So please read the warnings.
I wish that the epilogue would have had us see a bit more into the future, but I am hoping we see that in the next book.
The author has such a way of world building that it is fantastic. The way emotion is captured in these books is done so well. I am glad that these men know how to show emotion even if they are tough.

*Please note this is a part of a series and is not a stand-alone*

Dead Of Wynter - Montana Fyre

My Review:
My Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Spice: 🌶🌶🌶🌶
Pages: 520
Genre: Romance
Tropes: Mafia Romance, Enemies To Lovers, Close Proximity, Second Chance Romance, BDSM

Wynter Saint James - Sibling to head of the Saint James mafia, trained to take over in case of Storm Saint James’s death. Not a push over. Just as lethal as her brothers with a cunning mind.

Everett Masters - Familial ties to the Russos mafia family. Loyalty ties to the Saint James mafia family. Has been in love with Wynter since she was a little girl. Walked away from her eight years ago for her safety without giving her a reason why. Her father and brothers knew his reason.

The Russos run the Saint James matriarch and patriarch’s car off the highway resulting in their deaths thus declaring war on the Saint James family.

This book deals with the outcome of that war and of Wynter and Everett coming face to face after eight years as they all go into lockdown together.

Read the book to find out the details.

Here’s my review for books 1-3 :

Each book I would rate
1: 4⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
2: 3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨
3: 3.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️✨

First of all, I’ve really enjoyed reading the stories unfold from each couples point of view. The mafia world of crime is always fun and spicy. The plot was good too - definitely some good twists that I did not see coming.

4/5 🌶️ , so that is great and all, HOWEVER I found all three of the relationships just too similar. Dom/sub dynamic and a lot of dubious consent.

READ THE TRIGGER WARNINGS!

The spicy scenes were nice to read, but the romantic dialog and inner thoughts were too similar - I’m pretty sure if I compared quotes book to book to book there would be exact same lines.

ALSO I wanted to add that there are hella grammatical/spelling errors! ✏️ Like so many so it has me confused that what I read was the final, thoroughly edited copy! Surely the author and editor who put this book together would have noticed what i’m seeing?! If this is something that would bother you do NOT read this series.

Anyway, that being said I am invested in the series and will read the fourth book when it comes out because I absolutely have to know what plays out for the final Saint James sibling. 😊

I’m rating this 4 and half stars.
I was lucky enough to get the ARC for this.
I love when a mafia book book starts off really strong and the main h is a big boss babe. Wynter is such a strong women. She just wants to people to treat her as an equal just like her brothers.
8 years ago Wynter was hurt so badly by her first true love Everette, who is her big brother best friend. He disappeared after their first night together and she never heard from him again. That was until when something so devastating happened in her family Everette shows up st their front door.
The connection between Wynter and Everette was electric and their chemistry was next level.
Everette is bossy, possessive and controlling. All the things that we love in our book boyfriends.
I didn’t like how Wynter forgave Everette so easily and quickly, after how much he hurt her.
But other than that I really enjoyed it. I loved all the twists and action, which kept me wanting more.
Can’t wait for the next book in this series.
I highly recommend it.

I has lucky enough to be given this ARC from montana for my honest review.

Well this is the second book in this series and wow its amazing.

Montana knows how to write a story, she will capture you and not let you go. Its such well written plot with fantastic characters and world building.

I love the saint clair family the first book followed Ryane and Emerson and this one follows Ryane's sister Wynter and Everett.

And what a story Wynter and Everett have to tell. Its Love at first sight and born into rival mafia gangs but Everett always loved the saint clair family and ultimately wynter his dove.

Theres a gang war, spicy seens, threats, ups and downs, twists and turns, love, pain, violence, healing trauma, lies, second chances, sadness, betrayals, happiness and some mystery a book you wont want to put down.

Favourite quote's ❤️

“I’d rather you hate me while you’re alive than love me while you’re dead.”

"being around her settles the wounded parts of me that have always felt like gaping sores."

Can't wait to read the next book

I was so excited to receive and ARC of this book and Montana wrote another amazing book about the Frost family. This book picks up right where When It Raynes ended and is about Wynter and Everett. I love that throughout the book she goes back to the past of Everett and Wynter and we find out what all has happened between them to get where they are now. Wynter is a strong heroine and wants her family to see her that way. She really proved her point in this book that she can handle anything she really is the Queen. I love that Montana can write a book that sucks you in and you don’t want it to end. This book had it all. The plot twists were there that I didn’t see coming. Everett is a total alpha male who is dominating and Wynter is strong but will submit for him. All the family is in the book and I love reading about the whole family and how they get along and love each other. The book ends like the previous one preparing you for book 3.

This book has a second chance romance, brother’s best friend angle, themes of a D/s and BDSM relationship, a possessive/protective male (not my favorite MMC, but he seemed to learn through this book and had his good moments), mafia ties, and focuses on Wynter (our FMC) healing from past trauma.

You see Wynter’s strengths and weaknesses throughout this book; it’s amazing to see her turn even more into the business/mafia queen she’s meant to be.

Everett has blood ties to the rival mafia family, despite having been a part of the Saint James circle and business for years. He left to protect her, but couldn’t stay away. Now that he’s back, can he protect his “dove” from his bloodthirsty and all-around terrible “family’s” plans?

There was an unexpected twist at the end that I was honestly surprised about! And that cliffhanger!! 😱

Oh my sweet baby Jesus, Montana has done it again! If we thought the first book was one point - this one is even better. This books is so much deeper and they characters are much more intertwined as we learn more and more about their family dynamics. This book follows Wynter and Everett as they were once childhood sweethearts now trying to find a way to be around each other after a traumatic event. Yes - of course, there is spice but the real gem in here the the healing and the space to grieve and then like a phoenix from the ashes, rise up again. Wynter volleys back and forth from wanting to be the heroine in her own story and prove her place in her family but also needing solace in a safe place where someone will take care of her. There is a wonderful HEA for these two which makes up for all the heartache along the way for them.
