Ruidosa for Summer. Back to water for Fall.
The whole crew takes a 2 month job testing water quality all up and down the Rio Grande. Seems like a fairly innocuous undertaking. However, there are several gunfights with Cartel Thugs and many tense moments. After the job Hetta heads to cooler climate in Ruidosa in her RV. She is really enjoying the rest and change of scenery when she gets a call from Becky who has been manning the new animal sanctuary in Peurto Penasco begging for some time off. Of course Hetta immediately leaves to go relieve her, even though she really doesn’t want to head back to Mexico while it is still so hot. Upon arrival at the Marina to stay with boating friends, Hetta is surprised by Jenks with a new Yacht!! Life is good!

I love these books!!
Getting a new Hetta Coffey adventure is a treat I really enjoy. Jinx has created a terrific cast of characters that I think of as old friends. The writing is tight and fast-paced, the only drawback being that I read each of these books much too quickly.
If I could, I’d run off to the Sea of Cortez and spend the rest of my life on a boat. Maybe someday I’ll get the chance!

5 stars, Just Cause I love this book and this series!
It seems like forever since the last book and the demise of Raymond Johnson. What a wonderful reunion with all the characters that have become so real to me. Jinx has a way of writing that makes you care about these people, worry about them and laugh out loud. I can totally recommend all fourteen of these books if you want a great big Texas sized good time!

Hertz and the gang are back and more than ever
I have enjoyed reading each and everyone of the books in the series, and have gone back to reread them many times. The quirky characters and their thrilling adventures make this series one of my most favorite reads.

Hetta is a memorable character, a strong woman who knows her own mind. I enjoyed several books in the series, and found the mysteries satisfying and the relationships fun to follow.

I love Hetta - Just cause
Jinx aways weaves a great tale. Living in La Paz allows me to relate to her characters and characterizations. It's a hoot follow on Hetta's trail.

Just Because
Can't enjoy life without my Hetta, Jenks, and Jan fix. I've volunteered to accompany them but their adventures seem to move along without my help. I am equally assured that a love of shrimp and lobster does nothing extra to put me on the waiting list to visit. This is a romp back and forth over the US and Mexican borders along with Po Thing, Trouble, and a few other recurring characters all attempting to do good and drink Costco dry. A surprise ending will reunite some characters and give us at least another 14 books. Hetta is a great friend whose capabilities never cease to amaze me, even if only in print. Time to get her on screen for the world to meet, and I would sure like to be first in line! This ARC reader is more than delighted to recommend Just Because, because I can.

As I have been living there over 35 years.
We laugh a lot
And yes I am sad about the drugs and criminals.
Since I live in the center of Cabo, I feel safe.
Cabo dose not want bad press.

Another hit
It was great to catch up with Hetta and Jan and all. The girls are up to their usual tricks and antics….with the usual help on their side. The things they do and get up to are both funny and action packed. I sure did miss them and was very glad to catch up with them again. Loved the ending and can’t wait to see what Hetta and Jenks get up to next. Definitely recommend you read this one!

Again I didn't want it to end!
I have been waiting for Hetta and Jan for so long and Just Cause didn't disappoint. Whenever I read one of Jinx Schwartz' "Just" books it takes me back to my happy place. I feel as if I'm with old friends getting into and hopefully out of ttouble. I'm neveralone as long as I have Po Tang and Trouble with me and I always cry when it's over. Please please don't make us wait so long next time.

I love the Hetta Coffey series! So much fun with her friends, even though they always seem to get into trouble no matter where they are. I love learning about Mexico, Baja, and the Sea of Cortez when they're on the water.
This one seemed a bit disjointed, what with moving back and forth to Mexico and Texas, but it fits Hetta's situation at the moment. Can't wait till Jenks moves back to see if it will work out for them!

action, comedy and romance
I really wanted the name of her first boat to be sea wench, then since jenks purchased the second boat, I thought for sure it would be. Seems like too much advertising to be the Hetta C. Too many important characters are introduced and then lost, like her son, where’s he been? The aunt, the parents, the ex beaus ? Every guy loves her? Jan blames her for trouble but is just as much at fault.

My favorite Character
Hetta Coffey's adventures never disappoint. Every book deals with issues that matter woven into a funny, frightening tale. Hetta and her cohorts strive to make life better while yachts sink, gangs and animals cause trouble. I am ready for the new life of Hetta and Jenks.

Hetta done
I’m usually a Hetta Coffey fan, but the last 2 books were missing something. And 14 was basically a rehash of 13. I understand that keeping a connection in a series is important and that a little retelling helps the flow, but seriously whole chapters devoted to the previous book?

fun, fun, fun!
I do enjoy this series! Somehow I passed up on this book when it first came out but I am so glad it popped up. This book has everything you could want in a book and a series…..mystery, a great cast of characters, humor, romance, action and great writing by the author.

Better Than Usual. I LOVED it.
Hetta is Hetta. This book was magical. Jinx did an outstanding job. It is a fitting #14. However, it can be read as a standalone..When you finish it you will want to go back and read them all.

Just love Hetta!
What a great Hetta read! It was like 2 books for the price of one with this story line! I love to think that there are animal lovers protecting unwanted pets from fates worse than death! Always a good read Jinx!

Loved this book, it brought back memories reading about Hetta's past adventures. Of course Hetta as usual still gets into trouble, also rescuing dogs and cats from Mexico for Dog Fights with the help of her BFF Jan!

I've read all the books so far. This one snuck up.on me. It was great to get back into Here's world. Have no idea how she is still alive.
This was a great read, lots of action and suspense.
