Dorian Kang has a little extra time on his hands now that work has finally slowed, and being that he’s the most charismatic man in Pearl City, all he has to do is pick from the line of men waiting to be his next one-night stand. But even though he doesn’t do repeats, Dorian finds himself inexplicably drawn to Ira Knox, the famous sculptor who suddenly seems to always be around.
Ira Knox hasn’t been able to get Dorian out of his head since their drunken hookup months ago, so when they run into each other again he thinks this might be the perfect chance to finally purge the sexy COO from his mind. The best way to get over someone is by getting under them again, right? Maybe not. But Ira’s going to give it a try anyway.
When Ira’s ex and his cousin invite him to their wedding, Dorian agrees to attend as his plus one. Even though it’s an intimate affair, the two agree from the beginning to keep things casual between them. Only, Dorian can’t stand to see Ira hurting, and Ira might be realizing the reasons he’s always had for rejecting the concept of a relationship aren’t very good ones.
Can the two of them figure out what they really want before it’s too late, or will their arrangement to casually date ruin things before they can even begin?
Dorian is the second standalone in the Baton Blue Daddy Series. This is an opposites attract MM romance with mild hurt comfort. It involves light daddy kink, no age play and lots of chemistry. You can expect an office quickie, delicious food, dates-with-benefits, matching outfits and a HEA. Even though this book can be read as a standalone, there are some fun cameos from characters in the previous book.

A sweet, low-angst, steamy read. I loved how hot Dorian and Ira were together.
Definitely liked how their relationship developed. I also liked the fact that Ira took some time to realize how he felt about Dorian and everything else in his life so his character development was nicely done. Otherwise, it all would have been a little too rushed.
Dorian was just plain awesome and I liked him a lot.
First off! Thank you for dedicating this masterpiece to me 😭😭
I absolutely loved Keiran and probably drove Kota nuts about our friend Dorian and his Adonis D*** but OMG!
This story was everything and thank you thank you thank you for letting me read it early.
I loved all the dirty places Ira and Dorian found to get it on. I loved all the Daddy elements and it gave me the type of Daddy kink that I really enjoy!
I was angry for Ira for what his cousin and his ex did and how his family treated him. I loved that Dorian wanted to help and take care of him.
Aquamarine is back with all the Juicy details of Baton Blues most eligible bachelors, since Kieran Kingsley is off the market.
This time it's Dorian Kang's turn. The most charismatic COO of Pearl City, has his sights set on Ira Knox, best friend to Theodore Hudson who we met in book one along with Kieran.
Dorian Kang has free time on his hands after a reprieve in his workload. A chance encounter with Ira at the Baton Blue Beanary coffee shop. Dorian is reminded of their pleasure filled night together & first encounter with the captivating sculptor. These two men are known for their notches on the bedpost. There is an undeniable attraction between them, but neither do relationships.
But what is the harm in a little fun and steady hook-ups? It's not like there is any risk in either catching feelings, right?
I just LOVE! This series so much. The characters are fun, relatable and dynamic. Oh, the drama! There is so much drama... and i'm here for it! I love Aquamarine, it's like our own little Gossip Girl of all the goings-on with our Baton Blue hotties. I can't wait for the next book in this entertaining and steamy series, after that teaser at the end, I know it's gonna be a blast. Dorian and Ira were🔥!!
I have to admit, Dorian by Avery Tu and Kota Quinn is one of my best friend's favorite books. Even when it came out (maybe in August) she kept telling me how much she liked it and how I should read it too. Well, when I saw an offer for an Arc review of this very book, I didn't even think twice and embarked on this adventure.
I started reading it, but something was missing. I was reading the beginning, and I felt like I missed an important part of the story. Also, I found Theo and Kieran's constant appearances and mentions interesting. The moment Dorian pointed out, "I`m not like Kieran" I couldn't take it anymore and decided to put the second book down to buy the first one and see what I'd missed. Yes, and my bestie tells me and in the books it is written that they are standalone and the stories are independent. But for me personally, until I read the first one I couldn't enjoy the second one. Now that I had an idea of what was going on, I can say that I enjoyed the story. It was light and pleasant to read.
Ira totally fits the stereotype of the artist who is so engrossed in his art that he forgets what he needs to do to function normally. It's so adorable how his clothes are always dirty or he forgot to eat. I also died laughing at moments where he was kind of under the spell of Adonis (YES, he named Dorian's d**k).
Dorian is so sweet and caring. He totally won me over how he wanted to take care of Ira and showed him in every possible way that he was more than a "quickie".
The promise between them that "there's no need for feelings" and it's all for "fun" made me laugh out loud. Honestly with the chemistry I was wondering how they even got out of bed at all. Actually, it had a pretty good plot. I liked how the hurt-comfort motive was woven in, the drama surrounding Ira's ex, and how his family was involved in the whole mess.
In conclusion, I can say that the book was an enjoyable read. At first when I started it my rating was between 3 and 3.5 ⭐ but after I read the first book and went back to it it jumped to 4 ⭐.

Avery and Kota brought it with a great follow up to Kieran. Dorian is FIRE. Both Dorian and Ira are both known for casual hook-ups. Neither is looking for anything serious. Dorian leads a busy life as COO of the Baton Blue Makeup Company. He works hard, and *plays* hard, but his life doesn't easily lend to a relationship. Ira is just as busy as an artist, who gets swept away by his creativity and can pull him away from reality. He's also got a past relationship that left a bruise, and he isn't looking to put himself through that again. But these two have a pull toward each other, their chemistry is intense. They find that they are a really good fit sexually, and decide to continue a casual sex-based relationship. Nothing serious. These two cannot keep their hands off each other, anywhere and everywhere, the riskier the better. It was so fun reading all of their interactions, but also there is a lot of sweetness between them too. They get each other and wind up taking care of each other beyond just sex. Avery and Kota make a great team and I can't wait to see what they do next.
Dorian is the second book in the Baton Blue series and was fantastic!!! Loved Dorian and Ira! They start off as a one off hook up but it ends up being so much more!! I loved how Daddy Dorian took care of Ira! I felt their love, it was palpable. But beyond being sweet, hot and steamy it was spicy! I cannot wait to see where these terrific authors take us next. Overall, a fantastic read. Well written with great pacing that just flows! Highly recommend.
All the love to Ira, Dorian and Adonis! (And no this isn't an MMM) This book was sooo steamy, sooo sweet, sooo everything! Ira was teased in book 1 with his mysterious one night stand, and I couldn't wait to read more about how his love life progresses.
They start off as a random hook-up that turns into a casual dating situation where they swore they wouldn't catch any feels... right?
I love how Daddy Dorian takes care of Ira, and there were so many sweet moments between the two that had my heart squeezing with how much I loved the two. You could really see the two fall in love in the story. And not to mention how much fun ;) the two had in all the random places.
It's a relatively low-angst story with some hurt/comfort elements, but nothing that would have you breaking out in tears. In fact, I really like how they handled the past situation that had Ira doubting love in the first place.
There were also a few characters teased in the story that might have future stories of their own that I am super excited for. Can't wait to see what's next in the Baton Blue Daddy series!
I really enjoyed this one. Dorian and Ira were very hot together - my glasses were fogging up when these two got down and dirty. I was laughing out loud every time Ira referred Adonis.
Fantastic book.
*I voluntarily read this book. All opinions stated are solely my own and no one else's*
"I know this isn't exactly how you dream of spending your weekends." "Yes," he agreed solemnly, "I absolutely hate having to spend time with hot guys. It's the worst."
well, well, well. I can't believe that I got so interested in the series I reached for the second part of it and it was just as good as Kieran. maybe the sex aspect of these books isn't the best since I get a bit weirded out by them from time to time yes, I'm talking about the daddy kink thing again, but hear me out - Baton Blue Baby for the series name - it's perfect.
one thing that I liked more in this book is that it gave me more emotional attachment to the characters (especially Dorian whom I adore). the hurt-comfort motive was explored well and it made the book at the end. Also, I enjoyed the backstory of Ira and Dorian throughout the book, getting Ira's family involved more was the move and the Melissa/Jack story was an interesting addition.
"I'll take you out on actual dates, Ira. I'm not just going to call you for a quickie. I don't want to use you."
Avery, Kota please
rating: 4* - ★★★★ great! enjoyed this one a lot, did not blow me away but would recommend it. thanks to BookSirens and Custom Cat Publishing. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I devoured this book. "Dorian" was an absolute delight: light-hearted and steamy, romantic and funny, with a whole cast of absolutely endearing characters. I think I might have loved "Kieran" just a smidge more, since it was angstier and more high-stakes, but I was still thoroughly invested in Dorian and Ira's story.
I'm always a sucker for a good ol' "let's keep it causal, but whoops, I'm now in love with you" trope! I loved how both Dorian and Ira are shameless flirts and f***boys, and that both of them got whacked in the face with an unexpected boatload of feels. Their chemistry was off the charts and the daddy kink elements were an absolute added bonus that were *chef's kiss*. I would have loved to have seen Ira's need to be taken care of explored a bit more, but alas, I was still so happy with how their relationship turned out. Ira was such a delightful character: happy and flirty, but still deeply insecure and anxious; Dorian was as interesting and complex, plus he was so sexily confident that I found myself swooning, many many times.
I think I was missing that heavier, angstier plot element that made "Kieran" stand out so much and made it such a *me* novel: "Dorian" was pretty much light-hearted and fun, and although there is some emotional angst and some mild hurt/comfort, it's really minimal. However, that is solely a me issue, so if you enjoy your books angst-free, with a ton of delicious daddy kink elements, plus lots of compelling and lovable characters, this is the book (and the series) for you. I'm soooo looking forward to reading the next installment! Since I'm pretty sure I already know who it's going to be about, and since the seemingly-odd-and-frosty-grump-that-needs-to-be-undone is one my absolute favourite MC tropes, I already know I'm going to love it. Bring it on, Avery Tu and Kota Quinn.
Thank you BookSirens for the ARC. I received it in exchange for an honest review.
I haven't read the first book in this series, so I missed a tiny bit of background, but I wouldn't think twice about that if I didn't know it was the second in a series.
This was sort of a lovers to friends, rather than the other way around. I guess that's what happens when you keep running into the hottest one night stand you've ever had.
Now we get to something I feel is a misnomer - friends with benefits; a friend is someone you enjoy hanging out with, right? So if you add no strings sex, are you no longer friends? You're not supposed to enjoy hanging out with an FWB? I don't get it, but that's how it tends to work in the books I've read. Seems more like acquaintance with booty call privileges, to me.
I enjoyed the characters and how they related to each other, the plot made sense. But then we get to one of my pet peeves - treating a personal relationship like a business contract.
The two characters went into this agreeing that neither of them was after a serious relationship. They were going to be actual friends who happened to have great sex together. Which is all well and good, but things change. As one gets closer to a person and gets to know them, one can find oneself feeling more strongly about them. Add really good sex to the mix, and the next thing you know, they're in love.
Except that's breaking the contract! Ridiculous, no?
So, anyway, aside from that, I did enjoy the book very much, and if the things that bother me don't bother you, you may even like it more.

This was a sweet story of two men who were unable to stay away from each other. Lots of emotions and feelings around the wedding of Ira's ex as well as the relationship between the two men. Easy to read, feel and understand. This was an MM story with mature content.
Dorian and Ira appeared in the first book of the series as they are, respectively, the best friend of Kieran and Theo. Finding out they got their own story made me very curious to see how the kings of anonymous hookups would manage to forge a relationship. Whereas Kieran and Theo were a slow burn, Dorian and Ira were fire right from the start. The chemistry between them was quickly established, alluding to the hookup they had that inspired Ira to create a sculpture that played a BIG part in the first book! They were sexy and steamy but there was more to it than just sex, though both insisted it was just casual. Of course, feelings get in the way but both keep their own counsel and nearly ruin what they could have, if only they get over themselves. I liked this better than the first book but I'm not entirely sure why. Again, the daddy kink was so light that if you blinked, you'd miss it. That's not a problem for me but it smacks of false advertising, especially as the series is called Baton Blue Daddy. Ira called Dorian 'Daddy' a few times and Dorian told him he had to eat and take care of himself but that was about it. Next up is the ice man, Nolan, who appeared very briefly in this book. We know nothing about Nolan and even less about his man who is introduced at the very end of this one, so I'm looking forward to see what they will bring.

Again, author Avery Tu has succeeded in creating people in this straightforward and enjoyable book who you warm up to over time. At first, I was a little concerned that we would only get another false dating trope variant. Although I adore the trope, it would have been excessive to use it in two works in a row. She substituted with a trope that I can't for the life of me identify. A sort of "dating but not dating"? I'm not sure, but I do know it was enjoyable to read. Although there were a few instances where specific words or phrases were used incorrectly, compared to the first book, the errors were less prevalent. Nevertheless, I must emphasise that a little editing goes a long way. The characters' uncertainties while dealing with things of the heart made them familiar to me. I adore Lucky, but I'm not sure if she acted in such a way on purpose to compel them to express their feelings or if she was honestly clueless about what was happening. I was hoping for some kind of affirmation, like a smirk or a bewildered frown, you know?… something that would convey what she was thinking at the time. For someone who wants a quick read that doesn't require a lot of mental effort to understand, I'd suggest this book. I can't wait to read Kismet Cafe and get to know some new characters.
Ira Knox gets an invitation from his cousin for her, and his ex's wedding. Between his inner conflictions about whether he should go, and his "agreement" with Dorian Kang, he becomes stressed. Soon things become known, and realizations are made.
Content Warnings include Daddy Kinks and Size difference.
I heard about the book from the author Chani Lynn Feener and decided to check this book out. Only to realize it hasn't been released. Later I went back and found out there were e-Arcs available. When I downloaded it, I was soon hooked. I have not read the first book, so the dedication had been what grabbed my attention.
"First to say they want more Adonis!"
That's what bought my attention. So, when I dived into the first page, I found myself highly intrigued. Between the format of blogs, to the format of just a regular book. But as well as the change of perspective of both main characters.
I really enjoyed this book and hope that many of you find a chance to read this book, as it really was surprisingly, yet pleasant to find it was more than I could have hoped.
I almost gave this book a 4-star rating, but it's really the ending that perfectly tied it together and changed my mind. So of course, this book deserves nothing but 5 stars.
Sometimes, in a series, the characters start to blur. The 'voices' are interchangeable. Dorian (& Ira) has its own distinct voice. It isn't really a stand alone because the previous book's characters are referenced. We need to remember we are not over something until we are over it. It reminds me of when I had braces. My whole mouth would hurt for days after having an adjustment. Then, poof, I noticed the pain was gone. Life's experiences are the same. One day we think the pain will never be gone. Then, poof, one day we are on the other side of the pain. The memory is there, the pain is gone. I enjoy this series and will continue it. CAVEAT - this book had more errors than the first, but they did not distract from the overall story. (I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.)
"Dorian" is the second book in this series of gay romances and features Dorian and Ira, who are the best friends of the first couple, Kieran and Theo. Dorian is Korean and was "adopted" by Kieran's family when he arrived in the US for school in his teens. Dorian works with Kieran in the Blue Baton cosmetics business, especially the male makeup division. Ira is a sculptor who shares studio space with Theo. Ira is obsessed with the naughty bits of a man he had sex with once. Dorian is that man, and they meet again, agreeing to a casual relationship. They "catch feelings," as they say these days, and feel they are breaking the deal. Of course, they get over their weirdness, and all is well, but the story of how they do it (pun intended) is lovely and hot! I received a copy of this book for free and left this review voluntarily.
I love these authors paired! In this second book, Ira, an artist,, had a drunken one night stand with Dorian, a COO of a business. Both were still attracted but didn't act on it. When they meet again, they go for it with hot steamy passion and no commitment. They are fooling themselves because they ate obsessed with the sex and each other. The funniest part of this book is that it is a three way relationship with Ira, Dorian and Dorian's genitals nicknamed Adonis. They share really hot sex in as many inappropriate places as they can find. This is just a delightful rom com of a story that I could have read forever. I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews and this is my honest opinion.
This book is awesome. Ira and Dorian meet through Ira’s best friend, Theo. The two begin a casual relationship to build the groundwork for Dorian being Ira’s date to his cousin’s wedding. Both men are sure they don’t want anything serious but as time passes, feelings start to develop and an incident at the wedding will have Ira realizing he might have been wrong all this time. Before declarations can be made, an emergency will take Dorian away and put distance between the two. But the moment will come when the two are forced to reveal the truth about their feelings for each other and it will lead them to a happy ending of their own.
I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review.
4.5 stars. Hoooey, holy chemistry Batman! Dorian and Ira were totally meant to be, even if they thought relationships weren’t for them. Dorian is a straight-forward, business-passionate, playboy. Ira’s a devil-may-care, love-spurned artist and the king of one night stands. They have similar senses of humor and their banter is fantastic. Their explosive chemistry has them entering into a friends with benefits situation. I’m so happy that the conflict wasn’t between them, but with others in Ira’s life. There is a bit of a lack of communication and assumptions made between them, but that quickly gets resolved and they get their happily ever after. I can’t wait to find out what’s up between Nolan and Ryker!
What a great second book in this series written by Avery Tu and Kota Quinn. It's fun, and it has just the right amount of romance and heat, and a little angst, too.
While the two main characters aren't looking for a relationship, each for different reasons, there's no denying the chemistry between them and how well they fit together.
The story is well written, its development is constant, it never declines.
I liked, as in the first book, Kieran, how they include something that is so common nowadays, such as online gossip sites: Aquamarine is perfect. It has just the right amount of gossip, it's naughty, funny and doesn't miss a thing!
I look forward to their next books!
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Every bit as good as Book 1 in this series. Dorian and Ira are just fabulous. Their love story is so much fun to watch. Excellent characters, both old and new, literally bring this story to life. It jumps right off the pages making you smile. Your heart is touched and your happiness level skyrockets as the HeA presents itself. I am eagerly looking for to what comes next because if it’s as good as these previous two I’d say these author’s have created something terrific. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book.
I’ve been waiting for Dorian and Ira!!!! Ever since meeting Adonis, Ira has been lusting after Dorian. Neither think they want a relationship, but friends with benefits is convenient. I don’t really feel this is a true daddy relationship, though Ira does need looking after. The smexy times are paced well throughout to allow the relationship to develop along with their friendship. I love how Dorian stood up for Ira to his aunt. Lucky is such and instigator as always. Loved it and was excited to see a spin-off is coming soon!!!
I like how the circle remains tight knit among the characters. Dorian was adopted by Kieran's family- from book 1, and Ira shares studio space with Theo - also from book 1. What began as 'casual friends with benefits', didn't take long to become so much more. Dorian is very supportive and protective of Ira. Just the partner he needs. Well paced, steamy, and loads of fun!
Nice to revisit old characters and get to know new ones.

What I liked about Dorian was the two main characters. Both Dorian and Ira are likable and interesting. I also thought the conflict with Ira’s cousin and aunt was well done , adding some tension without being too over done. The dialogue didn’t always ring true and while wonderfully steamy, the chemistry and connection between Ira and Dorian was not always believable to me personally. Overall, I did enjoy the story and the couple.

The second that Ira began his admiration of the Adonis D in Kerian I knew we had to meet this mystery man. And then when he ran into Dorian at the party! I needed that story!
Ira and Dorian were sneaky hideaway moments. Lots of quickies and so many feeling wrapped into one. They weren't supposed to fall for each other and even better that they did!
This was an amazing addition to this series and I can't wait for more.
This is the story of Dorian and Ira. It is the 2nd book in the Baton Blue Daddies series, it can be read as a stand-alone but is much better if you read it in order. It is a sweet light daddy kink story with amazing characters. Their chemistry and the hurt/comfort keeps you turning the pages. Leaves you with a great feeling. Definitely recommended.
I received this book as an Arc and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
A really enjoyable low angst story. Dorian and Ira hooked up once but it was clearly memorable for both of them, perhaps a bit more for Ira than Dorian initially. When they meet again, Ira takes a chance and invites Dorian to attend a wedding with him, all casual of course. It isn't long before they realize things are more serious than they expected and the development of their relationship is nicely paced.

Another great story in the Baton Blue series. Dorian and Ira's romance, another put together businessman and chaotic artist pairing. Fake-dating leading to real life romance, and a pair of men not looking for love but stumbling into it anyway. Dorian was a quick, fun read and set up the next pairing perfectly: Ryker and Nolan. I am also intrigued to see what superstar Greyson Chance is up to in Kismet Cafe...
