In her first debut poetry collection, Jaclyn takes you on an unforgettable journey of the truths about healing after trauma, what it takes to reclaim your power, and the peace that follows. With elements of physical and emotional abuse and focusing on life after toxic/abusive relationships, readers will close this book with newfound strength, love of self, and the support to find their own inner peace.
Spoke words into silent parts of me. Anyone who has encountered any type of trauma (not just domestic violence), I hope finds these poems as healing as I did. Such great pain and power and resilience all in one.
This collection of poetry is worth the read! Firstly, the way Jaclyn built the atmosphere around her pieces is truly beautiful. How she connected building her garden of lavender to her personal trauma and the experience of growing her peace back was so moving. I found so many pieces I could connect with and much of her words left me feeling renewed in a way. This is a book of healing, building a new sense of self and love for one self. She wrote with vulnerability yet such an empowering voice. This is a must read!
Poetry is not typically my genre of choice; however, there were several poems that truly touched my soul. There was some redundancy within her poems and her writing style was fairly simplistic. Her overall message was empowering and thoughtful.
