Having survived battles and even escaped death, the Skalf Anthor finally gets to Folkjerk. And just when he thought that he could rest easy, he realized that the power granted to him by Jarl Ragnar comes with a great deal of responsibility. What’s a thane to do when his home lies in ruin, the treasury is empty, his enemies are almost at his doors, and his allies are at each other’s throats? And to make matters worse, Anton isn’t having it any easier in the real world.
Mistakes: While the story is good and a lot of fun, I got really tired of Hiss’s name being misspelled. It really hurt my ability to sink into the story. Don’t worry though! I will try and get it re-edited and have the mistakes I’ve listed on GoodReads.
Plot: Sometimes you just have to gather together a desperate band of followers and defend your town.
Characters: Misspelling Hiss’s name so often hurt this book the most. Should have been a four star read.
