Khaled's life deteriorated due to unemployment, as a result of repeated failures in job competitions. Until his uncle, the expatriate, returned from France, and asked to work with him in carpentry, at his home in a camp. Khaled is optimistic about this work, even outside the field of his university studies, and the situation has improved, his admiration for his cousin Aisha, and this admiration is crowned by their engagement. The letter of Antoine, his uncle's partner in France, who works with him in carpentry, complicated matters when he asked Uncle Youssef to come to complete his work, to take the rest of his money. This forces Khaled to learn carpentry to go instead of his uncle. Khaled overhears his uncle's conversation with his father about a bet between them, concerning Khaled. He suspected that his going to France was suspicious. His father gave him his book of manuscripts, a book that Khalid was forbidden to touch during his childhood, which made him suspicious. This book inspired him, reminded him of many childhood memories, and made him see a recurring dream, the dream of the great sheikh, who asks him what he wants to do. Khaled goes to France, to a village on the outskirts of Tours, where he will complete the order, and lives in the house of Sheikh Suleiman, a friend of his uncle. Things get complicated when Antoine learns about his engagement to his cousin, because of his sensitivity. Khaled is patient for a longer time, during which everyone is confused in the homeland.
