I’m not looking for love, but I can’t resist Seth’s affection. He shelters me from the media storm that has become my life. The closer we get, the more his quiet compassion steals my heart in a way I never knew was possible. But his heart isn’t up for grabs.

Unsung is the second stand-alone book in the Henry Brothers series.

In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, breaking up cat fights, watching college hoops, and annoying her family by correcting their grammar.
What's better than a new series from an author you love? A spin-off series where you meet new friends and get to revisit old friends, as well. The second book in this series kicks off in grand fashion with a run-away bride, but this isn’t just any bride. This is the Sweetheart of Country Music herself, Everly Ash.
Dragonfly Lake is a small town not too far from Nashville, TN, and our Hale Street friends. It's a laid-back, peaceful community with a lot to recommend – great food and shopping, people who protect their own, and epic holiday celebrations.
The Henry family is very involved in their small community, with the brothers running the main restaurant and opening a brewery next door. Seth is the brains and the contemplative one of the family, and he doesn’t do relationships or even date. Still waters run deep and often hold secrets, but Seth is about to get a surprise that stirs up those still waters.
Everly Ash dashes out right before her highly publicized wedding to country music sensation Trey Gilbert. With help from a friend, she finds a place to hide out in the small town of Dragonfly Lake, renting a garage apartment from Seth. That's where Everly finally gets a chance to slow down and take stock of her life and career. For as long as she's had a career, her father/producer has been in charge, with Everly just going with the flow. But now she realizes this no longer works for her.
I love everything about the small-town setting, the comradery between the Henry siblings and how warm and welcoming they are. The people of Dragonfly Lake accept Everly and protect her as one of their own, and the Henry family accepts her as one of them. Everly and Seth seem so opposite but they're pure perfection together. They both get a few eye-opening lessons along their road to forever that help them become the person they were always meant to be.
Warm, charming and inviting, this one draws the reader in and makes her a part of this captivating story. Humorous, heartfelt and steamy, this phenomenal small-town romance is the perfect reading escape to make your romantic heart blissfully happy, so don’t miss it!
When a runaway bride needs a place to outrun the scandal surrounding her almost wedding and the voice that made her who she is, a small town seems like the perfect place to hideaway. Dragonfly Lake is just the place that country music star Everly Ash needs. It's calm, laid-back, and peaceful. It's the perfect place for her to slow down after leaving her fiancé and career behind and figure out where she goes next. What she didn't expect was to fall in love with not only the town and it's vibe, but also for her landlord Seth Henry and his family.
Unsung is the second book in Amy Knupp's "The Henry Brothers" series and can be read as a standalone romance but for you're reading pleasure, I highly recommend starting with book one as the characters are interconnected. That being said if you are a fan of small town romances you will enjoy this story of a runaway bride and her landlord. It's a heartwarming and charming story that really pulls the reader in. I can't wait to dive in to the next story.
This book is narrated by voice actors Stacey Gonzalez and Tim Paige. These narrators were new to me going in and I was pleasantly surprised. Both of them truly brought these characters to life, all the emotion and unique characteristics. The way they performed Seth and Everly, and all the side characters, were spot on. I am looking forward to listening to more of these two.
Book 2 of the Henry Family series. You can read it without the previous book, but you get a little more depth if you read in sequence.
Everly is a runaway bride and a famous one! She comes to Dragonfly Lake to lay low and determine how to move forward after not getting married.
Seth is a solitary man with a secret past that affects his every decision. He’s drawn to the woman renting from him and wants to help her stay hidden as long as she chooses to.
The story of these two falling in love is also one of acceptance, self discovery and standing up for what you want (once you’ve figured out what that is).
The audiobook was performed by Stacy Gonzalez and Tim Paige. I loved the lightness to Stacy’s tone in her baseline narration. A lot of Everly’s inner monologue just made me smile with the delivery. She was very sheltered and lacked many of the “normal” parts of life due to her country music sweetheart status. Everly had quite the journey to figure out who she wanted to be and how to stand up for that idea. And I really felt the range of that from joy to intensity in those moments from Stacy as well. Tim was smooth like butter throughout the performance. I really enjoyed the moments with family and friends when this serious man got to be a little goofy.
I requested and was provided with an advanced copy of the audiobook. These are my honest opinions.
RECOMMENDED for those that like: small town / secret identity / runaway celebrity heroine / restaurant owner hero with a secret / family protectiveness
First my usual points: - I do not do spoilers unless warned. - Read the summary above; it will tell you what the book is about. I will not reiterate. - This is a standalone but second in a series. Notes/Opinion (personal):
Everly and Seth were adorable. Each had a bit of growing and confessing to do. Well developed characters and challenges with family. Sweet, easy reading story that keeps your attention.
Even though I had read this , the audiobook was even better as the narrators bring the story to life. We are taken back in the town of Dragonfly Lake where the townspeople are known to gossip, but are also very protective of their own. This time, the story belongs to the middle Henry brother, Seth Henry. Seth is the great guy everyone loves and admires. He does the administrative work of the brothers’ bar and soon to open beer bar, and though he is liked by all , he has guarded his heart since grad school. The pain was too deep and he’s kept it a secret from everyone. Everly Ash, the Sweetheart of Country Music and country music royalty, has a moment of doubt and a realization just before her wedding. She becomes a runaway bride and ends up renting Seth’s studio apartment. It was obvious she was keeping secrets and hiding but all Seth wanted was to her to feel safe. As a friendship develops a pact of a month long fling is made. But what happens when feelings get in the way? What happens after the month of hiding with these two individuals with a different outlook of their lives? What happens with Everly’s image and her ex? Once again, the author delivers another touching, heartbreaking as well as heartwarming story about family, new beginnings and a second chance at life and love. Can’t wait to see what the next story will bring. Kudos to the narrators Mr. Page and Ms. Gonzalez did an excellent job .
I was entrusted a copy of this book and audiobook. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Unsung is book two in The Henry Brothers series and is the runaway bride, country star, cinnamon roll protector, small town romance of Seth Henry and Everly Ash. Everly Ash is the sweetheart of country music and on the morning of her wedding to country music heartthrob Trey Gilbert, she realises she got swept up in the media hype and pressure from her parents so comes to the realisation she can’t marry Trey and high tails it out of there ending up in small town Dragonfly Lake where she has rented an apartment from a local so she can lick her wounds, gather her thoughts and decide what she wants her future to look like in private. What she didn’t anticipate was falling for her landlord who goes above and beyond to protect her and encourages her to reach for the stars because she’s worth everything. Will the voice that she’s found at her small-town hideaway be heard when she returns to reality? Will Everly give in to her feelings for Seth despite it being a whirlwind romance? Seth Henry is the serious and reliable brother he has his nose to the grindstone, keeps the family business on track but he keeps to himself for the most part. Seth sees his home as his sanctuary and has spent time renovating the guest house on the water but now its finished and its first guest is sat on the steps waiting to be let in, he’s worried his peace and tranquillity will be disturbed. This couldn’t be further from the truth though when he figures out that the woman hiding away in his rental is none other than country singing sensation Everly Ash, who less than twenty-four hours ago left her groom at the alter and is simply looking for a safe place to lay low until the press dies down. Seth see’s a vulnerable woman in need and takes her groceries, meals from the family restaurant, takes her out on the lake and keeps her company. As his feelings begin to develop and they grow closer he’s forced to address a past he’s kept hidden from everyone. Will Seth overcome his past and tell Everly how he feels before its too late? Will he pluck up the courage to confide in his family about his past that has held him back for so long? The uber talented Tim Paige and Stacey Gonzalez bring Seth and Everly to life in the most spectacular fashion. Tim’s portrayal of the jaded, reclusive, all work and no play Seth was amazing. Tim showcased Seth’s need to protect others and himself, his vulnerabilities, and his gorgeous cinnamon roll personality to perfection. Stacey’s performance as the sweetheart of country music who hides away in an idyllic small town was incredible. Stacey highlighted Everly’s need to do the right thing, to take the time to figure out what her future should look like and explore her sexual desires was perfect. Overall, I loved this audiobook. I love a good small-town romance but add in the runaway bride trope and the heroine finding her voice and knowing her worth and I was in seventh heaven. This is the perfect addition to what has become one of my favourite small-town romances.
Great Story & Narration🎧Captivating & Heartwarming!
Unsung Henry Brothers, Book 2 By: Amy Knupp Narrated by: Stacy Gonzalez, Tim Paige
It is great to be back in Dragonfly Lake for another wonderful Henry Brother’s novel, a small town, runaway bride contemporary romance novel. I enjoyed Amy Knupp’s writing style and her unique spin on the runaway bride trope. The story grabbed my attention immediately and held it the entire time. Everly is a country music star who left her fiancé and singing partner at the alter the day of their wedding. Her friend helped her get away and booked her for a short term rental in Dragonfly Lake to hide from the press and public scrutiny until things calmed down. She gets into town and her new apartment without any one recognizing her. Seth Henry’s newly renovated rental has its first tenant, and he senses something is off with her, even more so when he sees what is in her bag. And while he did not who she was, he searched online and found out exactly who she was, despite her giving a bogus name. He lets her know he is aware of who she is and promises to keep that information to himself because he knows what it is like to get slammed by the press. Everly is taking the time for herself to reevaluation her life and she starts to enjoy her visits with Seth and looks forward to them. The chemistry between them is electric and they can only deny each other for so long before giving into it. He knows there is a time limit on it and they agree to keep it casual because when her month is up she will go back to her music and life in the public spotlight, and he will stay where he belongs in Dragonfly Lake. This charming and heartwarming story is wonderfully plotted with the perfect balance of drama, a touch of humor, heartfelt emotions and steamy romance. I am loving this series, the characters and the world it is set it. Amy Knupp, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧And for the fantastic narration, Stacy Gonzalez and Tim Paige did an amazing job bringing these characters to life, giving each their own voice, humanizing them with all their emotions and had you feeling every one of them. Their portrayal of the character was spot on and they were believable in every role they played. These entertaining storytellers are versatile voice artists and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another fabulous listen.
I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a fantastic story. I really hated to see the story end. It would have lasted longer but I was glued to my e-reader!!!! I adore the characters and loved to see some of the prior characters make appearances. It felt like get together with some old friends! The story is told in a dual POV format. That is a favorite of mine. I can better understand and connect to the characters when getting that glimpse of their thoughts. Even though this is the second of the series, you don't have to read the prior one to fully understand this story but I would highly recommend it as it is a great story as well.
Seth Henry gets a call from a woman who wants to rent his apartment over his garage. He received a call late on a Saturday night at his brother's wedding (this is from the prior story but also mentioned here). He is surprise to find the young woman already sitting on his' steps when he gets home. He has some reservations as he doesn't know her name. She doesn't look at him directly. When asked for her name, she just answers with her first name. Red flags are flying but when her ball cap tumbles off her head, he is left speechless at her beauty.
Everly is a runaway bride. She was having wedding jitters and her BFF (Drea) took her aside and they had a heart-to-heart talk. Everly decides that she loves Trey but she isn't in-love with him. Drea and her husband help Everly to runaway to Dragonfly Lake (I want to move there!!!!!) Everly was given the moniker Country Music Sweetheart. She gives a false name to the handsome man that she is renting an apartment from. Because she is so popular she panics when her cap falls from her head. Fortunately for her there is no glimmer of recognition in his eyes.
Seth comes to Everly's aid over and over to help her get through the rough time. There is an attraction between the two of them but is it just a rebound? New friends with benefits? Can this last longer than the month of the rental agreement? Well you will have to read for yourself.
This story is a sexy one so just a word of caution.
Unsung is the second in author Amy Knupp’s Henry Brothers series. Perfect as a stand-alone but that trio of brothers is pretty darn fascinating and I would recommend you read – or better yet listen – to the entire series. Holden Henry is the youngest brother, the outgoing, chatty, lives-life-to-the-fullest brother. His oh-my-gosh-why-didn’t-I-realize-she-was-the-love-of-my-life story was delightfully told in the first book in the series, Unraveled, and the novella prequel Untold. Cash Henry is the oldest. The executive chef at the family restaurant, the ex-military man, the often rough, tough, gruff guy. Haven’t heard his story yet, but the hints are tantalizing. Seth Henry is the middle brother. The reliable, steady, brainiac overachiever (except for that gigantic secret and lie). Unsung is his story.
Seth has just remodeled the apartment over his garage to be used as a rental. When a mysterious client wants to arrive late at night he says yes. Even though he doesn’t know the reason why, he is just the kind of guy who wants to help. And from that uneventful beginning springs an absolutely captivating story. Serious Seth always has his nose to the grindstone, business comes first, head in the books, mostly the family restaurant books, so he has no idea that the name his new tenant gives him is fake, and that she is actually a famous country singer and the runaway bride the internet is burning up about who just jilted her groom-to-be at the altar. She seems to need help, and even when Seth does find out who she really is he feels compelled to help her keep her secret and hide away. Not because of the electric sparks that are almost visible between them – more, much more on that to come – but because he knows from personal experience how tragic and heartbreaking it can be when your personal life becomes public fodder.
If there were ever two people not looking to start a relationship, it is Everly and Seth. Deciding not to get married is the first time Everly has stood up for herself in, well, probably her entire life. So even though Seth is nice, seems to genuinely want to help her and is easy on the eyes – did I mention all the Henry brothers are smokin’ hot?? – this is not the time for her to jump into anything new. Seth has sworn off relationships because of something that happened years ago. And if he starts up anything with Everly and social media gets wind of it his secrets – and the big lie – will surely come out.
Seth is a good guy, a great guy and so, so appealing to Everly. A feeling which is most definitely reciprocated. They fight it, but you can guess how successful they are. Their time together is like a precious little gift with an expiration date. When Everly leaves the apartment and goes back to her ‘real life’ they’ll have to end it. Too soon, too uncertain, too much risk to continue. But should something that precious really be ended?
The Henry brothers, and sister Hayden and the extended family and friends, are close as can be. No matter how much they disagree on day-to-day events or tease, they have always got each other’s backs. And they are all in when it comes to Seth and Everly. Dragonfly Lake is a beautiful, cozy little community where everybody knows your name but where what happens in Dragonfly Lake stays in Dragonfly Lake. Run, don’t walk, to pop your earbuds in and take a listen to Unsung. Narrators are perfect. The pacing, the tone, the anxiety, the desire, the determination, the humor, the heat, all there fully brought to life by these two very talented narrators.
I received a free audio copy of Unsung from the author via Home Cooked Books. I thoroughly enjoyed it and am loving making my way through this satisfying series. I voluntarily leave this review; all opinions are my own.
Unsung The Henry Brothers, Book 2 By: Amy Knupp Narrated by: Tim Paige, Stacy Gonzalez
The runaway bride. I love that story, as there is always a good reason as to why she fled. Everly was almost there, she almost made the biggest mistake of her life. If her best friend had not said anything, it would have been over! Now she is hidden in an apartment in Dragonfly Lake. Seth is the landlord, and as he continues the renovation of his house, he has created this safe space where Everly can live. But what will she do now? She is the Sweetheart of country music, and everyone is angry that she left Trey, another popular singer at the alter. She doesn't want the papparrazi hanging around as she figures out her life. Luckily, Dragonfly Lake is the small town that has no secrets, but does not let any passed their borders. She is hidden for now, and Seth is helping her adjust. He too has issues with commitment and the two have formed a bond. Will it grow? Amy Knupp captivated me with this wonderful love story. It's about realizing what life is about, what to do to make you happy and finding comfort in that. It's about keeping your heart open, understanding that it's not you who has to make everyone else happy and to fight for what you want. I loved this book, enjoying getting to know the Henry brothers and cannot wait to hear the next in the series.
Tim Paige and Stacy Gonzalez bring this gem to life. Paige knows how to delve into the heart of his characters and give them that feel like I have known him all my life. He pulls out the emotions and keeps Seth real. Gonzalez is amazing at finding her way into the feelings of her narrations and as Everly, she has a lot to get through. Each one she works through is felt right in the heart. These two are perfectly cast and have a heartwarming performance.
I loved Everly and Seth in Unsung by Amy Knupp, book two in her new Dragonfly Lake series, a beautiful story of unexpected attraction, friendship, and love. Seth Henry is the guy everyone loves and admires. He handles the business end for their bar and restaurant and though he is liked by all, he has guarded his heart since grad school; keeping a relationship gone wrong a secret from everyone. Everly Ash, Sweetheart of Country Music, walks out on her wedding to Trey Gilbert, Country Music Celebrity, she is a mess, convinced that she is a failure in every way but especially romance. She flees to Dragonfly Lake to hide from scandal and figure out what to do next as she figures out how to take back her life. Seth is surprised to find that Everly is the tenant for his newly renovated garage apartment; quickly agreeing to keep her secret and help her. Seth knows how vicious that the press can be. As their relationship evolves from friendship to romance, his family and friends are curious about his new tenant and it becomes hard to keep it a secret. Fortunately, the residents of Dragonfly Lake, a town where the townspeople are known to gossip, protect their own.
Ms. Knupp wrote an emotional, wonderful, heartwarming romance with an amazing small town vibe that kept me turning the pages as I followed Everly and Seth’s relationship as they learn what’s really important in life, before it’s too late. She provided a tale rich with magnetic attraction, sizzling chemistry, clever banter, and charming characters giving Everly and Seth a chance at love, happiness, and a future neither expected. I highly recommend Unsung to other readers and look forward to the next book in this series and see what happens to the last standing Henry brother, Cash.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This is book 2 in Amy Knupp’s Henry Brothers series. This can be enjoyed as a stand alone, but I think it's a little more fun having "met" Seth and the rest of the Henrys in book 1, Unraveled.
This was such a sweet story. Everly and Seth were so much alike yet in different places in their journeys. Only taking place over a few weeks Knupp crafted a beautiful and instant friendship that quickly became more. Yet I still felt like these two really got to know each other and that they belonged together. I was nervous that Knupp might show Everly's mismatch with Trey by making him the bad guy. However, she gave them both the HEA they deserved and I loved that.
There's a little tension from the worry that Everly's hiding spot would be discovered and whether or not she and Seth can have a real future. Overall it had a low angst feel. The Henry family learning of Everly staying at Seth's rental and bringing her into their fold was endearing. And, of course, at times hilarious. I loved getting to catch up on Holden & Chloe as well as the tease for Cash's book, Undone. A lovely listen all around.
Narration: The casting of Stacy Gonzalez as Everly and Tim Paige as Seth was perfect. They both did such a great job of bringing these two intensely private and wounded people to life. Simultaneously showing the spark of attraction and new relationship. There was something soft, calm, and healing about listening to their performances - the ideal match to Knupp's story.
CW (spoilers): suicide (off page & in the past) of an acquaintance of Seth's, death (off page) of neighbor
While I borrowed a copy of the ebook via KoboPlus, I received an advance copy of the audiobook from Home Cooked Books and am leaving an honest review.
This was an enjoyable addition to the Henry Brothers. In this book, Knupp created two compelling characters who felt authentic. Seth and Everly were so well-drawn. And how they handle the conflicts in their lives that result from their past felt almost perfectly balanced - nothing over the top, or drama for drama’s sake. As they faced their issues, I just felt that everything was in proportion. That might seem on odd observation, but it’s totally meant as a compliment to the author; I was so there for the characters and their journey because at each step, their reactions and resolutions felt genuine and earned. Believable conflict and resolution are important to me as a reader and Knupp really delivers that with this installment.
Another element I loved was the secondary characters; their interactions with the MCs was definitely a highlight for me. I just loved the way every one connected, supported, and played off one another. It really enriched the story and made me glad to spend my reading time in Dragon Fly Lake with such a great group.
The minor downside for me was the presence of one of my least favorite tropes (older man age gap); I am just really over this and am much more interested in other tropes, or if it older woman/younger man instead. However, I think the fact that Knupp paired a least-liked trope with one of my favorites (celebrity romance) ultimately balanced things out. So, I was able to stay engaged as the story progressed anyway.
The audiobook was really good. Tim Paige and Stacy Gonzalez did a fine job throughout. Each brought some nice layers to their performances. They were paired really well with one another and also with the nuance of Knupp’s characters.
Overall, enjoyable and highly recommended. Looking forward to Cash and Ava!
I received an ALC copy of the audiobook via Home Cooked Books. All opinions are my own.
🎧Audio Review🎧 Narrated by Tim Piage and Stacy Gonzalez
Amy really knows how to bring that heartwarming home town feel to her books including plenty of steam, personality and charm. I’m really loving this series and being a part of the Henry family of Dragonfly Lake.
Unsung is book 2 of the Henry Brother series. Runaway bride, Everly, needs a place to hide and Seth’s rental is the perfect solution. Seth, thought he had his life all figured out but feelings for Everly have stirred up past regrets that he’s not sure how to handle. Their chemistry is immediate and strong. Watching this relationship develop was a pure joy. What I enjoy about Amy Knupp’s books are mature adults who communicate without unnecessary misunderstandings. I will say Everly fleeing her wedding without even talking to her fiancé was a bit immature but this book is also about her journey to evolve. And she certainly did.
Tim Paige and Stacy Gonzalez are the narrators. Tim can do that sexy boy next door charm so well. He has a sexiness coupled with humor to his voice that’s really appealing. Stacy represented Everly well. She was very dynamic. I did have a few issues with her style, however. I understand that the character is going through a lot of feelings, yet Stacy tended to overact a bit in places. At times, there was a sing-songy quality which didn’t seem natural. She also used vocal upspeak a little too frequently. It bothered me more when it was used during the intimate scenes which kept pulling me out of the moment. Overall, I did enjoy the audio very much.
The book itself gets a 4.5 The audio gets a 3.5/4 I am rounding to the 4 total as this is an audio review specifically.
What I’m Starry-Eyed Over: 🤩 Tim Paige does a fabulous small-town hottie of a guy. His voice has that mix of caring but passionate with hunger. His voice is just like it’s described in the book—comforting, soothing, and whiskey smooth. 😋 🤩 Stacy Gonzalez does a smashing sweetheart of country music. Her voice is naturally so sweet and sensual. 🤩 Runaway Bride, it never gets old to me. 🤩 But make her a celebrity. 🤩 Small-town—I’m so glad to be back in Dragonfly Lake with the Henry brothers and sister. 🤩 I love the actual lake and canoe fun. 🤩 Seth Henry: oh my, he is such a yummy cinnamon roll book boyfriend, so sweet and good. 🤩 Everly Ash: small town looks so good on her. It even seems to make her braver. 🤩 How they become the best versions of themselves because of each other. 🤩 Unexpected and irresistible physical attraction, sexual tension, and that first kiss. 🤩 The steam—they are so sweet and hot and intimate and fun! 🤩 I had one more, but it felt like a spoiler.
What I’m Wishing/Dizzy About: 💫 The end is cute and the characterization is strong. But I like steam at the end. It helps me believe in the HEA and leave the book on an extra great note. 💫 The glimpse of Ava and Cash’s story to come is cute, but it could be a shorter part of the epilogue, just a little teaser. I am looking forward to more time at The Honeysuckle Inn.
I’m so excited to go back to the Henry Brothers series and meet the next brother. “Unsung” is a heartfelt, sweet and steamy small town romance that was a delight to listen to.
Everly Ash is country music’s sweetheart and is getting married. But last minute nerves and realizing she’s not in love with her fiance, has her pulling a runaway bride to Dragonfly Lake. Seth Henry owns a restaurant and has just listed his garage apartment as rental property. And Everly is his first tenant.
I loved how these two met and how he didn’t even recognize her at first. That is exactly what she needed when she left her wedding. And these two truly became friends before becoming something more. Seth had a secret that was so hard for him to keep but meeting Everly helped him get past the guilt he had been carrying. Everly is so sweet and genuine and someone that I liked right from the beginning. She truly found herself being at Dragonfly Lake and spending time with Seth. Seth was so protective of Everly once he figured out who she was and I loved how much he cared to keep her safe. And the whole town did for that matter, that makes me want to move to a small town just for that alone.
Tim Paige and Stacy Gonzalez narrate this story and I loved listening to them bring Seth and Everly to life. Both of their performances were perfect for each character and I loved listening to this story.
What's better than a runaway bride and a protective rental landlord? Oh, and of course a small town - Dragonfly Lake. I am so in love with both of these characters. Everly's life is mapped out for her and thank goodness for her best friend's guidance on her wedding day. Drea pulls her aside from the pre-wedding chaos to make sure that Everly is sure about getting married. And sometimes it only takes seeing the true love of another couple to know that what you have isn't that. Thus begins her secret escape.
Seth has remodeled his garage apartment and has put it up for rent - because why wouldn't he earn some money on it. But something doesn't add up with his first tenant. To start, why is why renting the apartment at the last minute and late at night on a Saturday? Then something sees off with the way she is acting. But then, maybe she just wants her privacy.
I loved how protective Seth was once he learned who his tenant was, and that he admitted to her he had learned her identity. Everly may be famous, but her one best friend lives across country and she is in need of a sounding board. I just loved these two together, from the initial secret to their sharing their personal lives with each other to the growth of both of them. I didn't want this story to end.
Sweetheart of Country Music Everly realizes moments before her wedding to a country music star Trey Gilbert that she only loves him as a friend and flees with the help of her friends. Business manager Seth Henry is surprised to find that a beautiful woman is his new tenant for his newly renovated garage apartment. When Seth realizes who his tenant is, he quickly agrees to keep her secret and help her. Seth knows how vicious that the press can be. As their relationship evolves from friendship to romance, his family and friends are curious about his new tenant and it's hard to keep it a secret. I received a free copy of this ebook from the author. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. It's interesting to see how a person can get caught up with the publicity and the influence of their support team and also how quickly the media and fans can turn on them. I love how protective and understanding that Trey and his family are to Everly. The romance between Seth and Everly is sweet, but there is also plenty of steam. It's also great to see both of them grow. Everly has time to find her direction and Seth learns to get over past mistakes.
Everly Ash and Trey Gilbert are country music stars who are seen together, then thrown together repeatedly as the publicity of them as a couple takes off. When this progresses to marriage Everly realizes at the last minute marriage to Trey is not what she wants. She does not love Trey, and doesn’t believe he loves her.
Hiding out in a small rental over a garage in Dragonfly Lake, Everly is taken with her handsome landlord Seth. Seth quickly figures out who she is, but promises to keep her secret. Simple pleasures of small town life and a late night canoe ride ignites some chemistry.
But this is a moment in time. Everly will eventually have to return to her very public life, and Seth has some items in his past he does not want publicized which would happen if his name was associated with Everly. Can a famous country star and a small town businessman find a way to mesh their lives.
Beautiful, touching, entertaining and romantic. Another wonderful trip to Dragonfly Lake for the reader to enjoy.
***** I am voluntarily leaving my honest review of this book *****
When Everly Ash, Sweetheart of Country Music, walks out on her wedding to Trey Gilbert, Country Celebrity, she is a mess convinced that she is a failure in every way but especially romance. She flees to Dragonfly Lake to hide from scandal and figure out what to do next. Seth Henry does not know what to think when she rents the apartment over his garage for a month with only a suitcase and designer wedding dress in a Walmart bag. Her secret is safe with him though. They soon develop a friendship that is so much more, but Seth has a secret and knows he can never be with Everly for real. This is a well written sweet wholesome love story with so much emotion and soul searching. The characters are heartwarming and so deserving of finding their everlasting love. The support of family and friends makes their story complete. Cannot wait for Cash Henry's story next after the taste we got in the epilogue of this book. I received an ARC of this book from the author in return for voluntarily writing an honest review.
This was a wonderful installment to the Henry Brothers series. Each of the brothers (and their sister, too) is so different from the others. Having those distinct personalities and yet the close tie to their family makes this a great series to read. This is Seth's story. We were able to glean pieces of Seth's personality from "Unraveled", Holden's story and also from "True Hero", Hayden's story. We knew that Seth was the "brains' behind the family restaurant and that he spent a good deal of time in his office, never really socializing too much. We also learn ot the end of "Unraveled" that he has a mystery guest staying in his newly renovated garage apartment B&B. What we did not know is why Seth is the way he is, who the mystery guest is, and why there is such a mystery. Enter Everly Ash. Fresh off a wedding that wasn't to be and hiding in a garage apartment in small town Tennessee. This book is full of tender moments, loving gestures, friendly banter, and unconditional love from family, friends, and a town that counts you as one of their own. The books I mentioned above are definitely worth reading in their own right. Yes, they do provide some insight into "Unsung" but Kupp does a great job of providing enough background information that you do not feel lost if you have not read the other books. I really enjoyed this book. Knupp is a terrific storyteller - one that makes you want to finish the book in one day! She has a way of including just enough angst to make the story interesting while adding enough lighter moments (usually between the brothers) that make you want to laugh. I love the way she paints the town of Dragonfly Lake. The small town shops, the nosy people that have your back, and the beautiful lake make you want to pack up and move to Tennessee.
~*~ Audiobook Review ~*~ Unsung is book 2 in the Henry Brothers series by Amy Knupp. The small-town of Dragonfly Lake is a tight-knit community of wonderful characters, and the perfect place to escape for runaway bride, Everly. Seth is harboring guilt over a past mistake and keeping those secrets means he keeps women at a distance. The temporary fling with Everly seems like the perfect distraction for them both…in theory. They have an instant attraction, but I enjoyed the evolution of their friendship and fostering a deep connection. This story pulls together some wonderful tropes to sweep you away with the story of discovering your strength, finding yourself, and falling in love with the right person. I love how the town pulls together. The side characters are sweet and endearing with plenty of moments that made me smile. Tim Paige and Stacy Gonzalez did a great job and I really enjoyed the narration. I’m so glad to have discovered Amy Knupp with this series and look forward to more.
This small town run away bride romance gave us the love story of Everly and Seth, the middle Hentry brother. Everly, country music star is ready to take control of her life. After abandoning her fiancé and her wedding, she rents Seth's garage apartment, and the sparks fly immediately. I found the story to be heart-warming and enjoyable. Seth is singularly business-minded and needs someone to loosen him up. Everly is quickly realizing that controlling parents and supportive parents are not the same thing, and she has some growing up to do. Their chemistry is electric and you can't help but cheer when Seth and Everly first kiss. Their HEA is wonderfully written. Author Amy Knupp does a great job of addressing of some heavier topics with well-crafted words and story lines.
I listened to the audiobook I definitely enjoyed the narrators' performances. Tim Paige was great as Seth, and Stacy Gonzalez as Everly. Stacy is a new to me narrator, but I would would listen to her again. This is my honest review of the Advanced Listener Copy I received.
Wow! What an amazing love story between Everly and Seth. Everly is the Sweetheart of Country Music and Seth is just a down home type of guy. Everly goes into hiding at Dragonfly Lake, where Seth lives, after deciding not to get married. But why? Wait til you find out. Seth gives Everly a place to stay and sparks seem to fly right away. Their chemistry and banter is off the charts. Both though aren’t looking for a relationship, Everly is only going to be in Dragonfly Lake for a month. What starts out as a friendship and Seth finding out who Everly is, he tries to keep everyone from knowing she’s there. How will their friendship turn out? If they take their friendship further, how can they make it work. Everly lives someplace else, and Seth has a secret that may make it so being in the limelight isn’t something he wants. This book is not only a page turner, but will make you want to keep reading. I’m all for team Seth/Everly.
Amy Knupp - an author I've had on my radar for so long but have only just begun reading. I have no idea why I waited for so long because she is absolutely incredible! So very talented and her stories are just brilliant!
I started here with the Henry Brothers series, UnTold, UnRavelled and now UnSung. These boys and the town of Dragonfly Lake? Everything is laid out and stories are told in such a way that I completely get immersed and feel like I'm living it, not reading (or in this case, listening to) it. I felt like I was right there with Everly Ash when she ran from her wedding before she made the biggest mistake of her life and married Trey, and stayed the Sweetheart of Country Music and the power couple they were. I was by Seth Henry's side when he was looking at the news and came across an article about the runaway country star bride from Nashville whole looked suspiciously like the new tenant who showed up at his rental property at midnight...
The sweet and tender romance between Everly and Seth as they have a secret relationship - while she hides away from the world in Dragonfly Lake - is just that. Sweet and Tender. Knupp knows how to write a situation exactly right for the plot and use the perfect amount of emotion and steam for the couple she's focused on, bring in the perfect amount of side-characters (from previous books), and all of the banter and wrap it all up in the perfect length of a storyline to give us just exactly what we all need. Just exact perfection! No huge melodrama, no massive cryfest, and no ridiculous fights that are out of place. Pure bliss.
I completely and totally recommend this book and the rest of the series to all, but you're going to want/need to get it on audio! This is narrated by Tim Paige and Stacy Gonzalez. If you haven't listened to them or been fans of them before (which I definitely have been for a while), you will be after this book! They did a brilliant job and they also deserve 5-stars each, like Knupp deserves for the writing!
I now cannot wait to pick up UnDone and UnExpected and find out what happens with the next Henry brothers!
I received an advance listen copy from Home Cooked Books PR, and this is my honest review.
This is a great addition to the series. I really enjoyed Seth and Everly - their banter, care and concern for one another and their attraction to one another is sweet and endearing.
Everly needs to hideout…she is under a lot stress, needs to make some personal and business decisions and just needs time to think.
Seth is a bit of a loner, for his own reasons, and is working on renovating his property. He has a renter request and he just happened to finish a garage apartment…he didn’t expect Everly to be his renter.
The interactions between Everly and Seth are very sweet, caring and tender. They have major trust issues but find it easy to share and be vulnerable with one another is fantastic.
Can’t wait to read/listen to more from The Henry family!
Tim Paige and Stacy Gonzales - deliver an amazing performance. They give each of the characters perfect emotion, personality and voice.
Book two of the Henry Brothers Series did not disappoint! Everly’s snap decision makes her realize she needs to take control of her life and man does she do it. Hiding away in Seth’s rental in Dragonfly like was just what she needed to find herself. Along the way she got lucky and met her perfect match. Que the swoon! The things Seth went through in his past keep him voicing his feelings. Seeing both of them come together was a very sweet and touching experience.
This was my first time listening to Stacy Gonzalez and Tim Paige narrate and I really enjoyed them! Stacy has a smoky voice that fit well with Everly’s character. And when she has her revelation about her life you could feel those emotions through Stacy’s performance. Tim as Seth was a great choice, with his tenderness and soothing voice. These two narrators went very well together.
If you enjoy a runaway bride, or small town romance I would recommend this be on your TBR or TBL!
This 2nd installment of The Henry Brothers series follows Seth Henry and Everly Ash. Everly is a country music star who is a run away bride, leaving her fiancé at the altar. This book definitely give the same vibes as the movie; Runaway Bride.
Narrated dual style by Tim Paige and Stacy Gonzalez, both of whom are new to me narrators.
Tim Paige brought the golden retriever energy for Seth, who is a total sweetheart and wants to take care of Everly and cherishes the short time they have together. He kept his tone light, which is befitting of Seth’s character.
Stacy Gonzalez delved into Everly, portraying the characters every emotion as she navigates her journey to independence and all of the changes to her life. Stacy’s voice is soft, almost melodic and was very soothing to listen to.
This book was so sweet, light hearted and very easy to listen to. I really enjoyed it.
This book was such a joy to listen to. It felt like a warm blanket on a cold day, wrapping me up in all the goodness and giving me a toasty hug.
The characters were fun and entertaining. I loved the communication between Seth and Everly and how they went after what they wanted and supported each other. The side characters were engaging and made you want to know more about them and their stories…those told and those that hopefully will be coming in the future.
This was my first Amy Knupp book but it will not be my last.
Tim Paige and Stacy Gonzalez were enjoyable to listen to with this story. The only down point for me was that some of the female side characters (in Stacy’s chapters) sounded a little whiny and it was a bit tough to know if they we’re supposed to be likeable. That aside, I enjoyed the main characters and would listen to this book again. This was my first Stacy book, and I would listen to her again.
Amy Knupp is a relatively new-to-me author, with this series, The Henry Brothers, being my first. It's a perfect small-town family series so far. I love the family interactions, how we get to know the characters better each book, and how each brother is given their own happily-ever-after. Each book is a stand-alone, but they're best read in order so you can get to know the couples as they happen, and get to know the brothers better as they each get their turn in the spotlight.
Everly, our female main character, is a runaway bride that find herself hiding out in the Dragonfly Lake, and she stirs up all of Seth's protective instincts. They really are such a great pair, and they help each other grow into the person that they want to be.
The narration by Stacy Gonzalez and Tim Paige was so enjoyable, and they both did a great job capturing and maintaining my interest. They were a great pairing.
