Taming Wrath

Work, fight, drink, sleep. Rinse and repeat.

That’s pretty much how my life works day in, day out. That is until a mysterious man turns up at the bar one night. He’s cocky, and gorgeous and I wouldn’t say no to getting a piece of that. After I win my fight, I let him take me home ready to quench my darkest desires. All that changes when he forces me to drink his blood and drives a dagger through my chest.

The world I wake up in isn’t my own, and there are more problems than just trying to find a way to escape the one place I really don’t want to be in. This isn’t my world, and I don’t want to be the one to try and sort out its issues, I have plenty of those back home.

Now I find myself surrounded by demons who want me dead, and even my dark prince might not be able to save me from their wrath.

Taming Wrath is a novel in the multi-author shared world Sons of Satan. Be sure to read all seven books for a hellish good time. It is a paranormal why choose romance where the FMC doesn't have to pick just one guy. Make sure to read the content warning for any TWs.

First book of this universe for me and I have to say I did like it, The FMC finds herself lured by this magnificent specimen of a man, only to wake up in Hell and find herself among demons. But then again she is no ordinary girl anymore.

The story did have its flaws as the intimate scenes did not leave enough time for romance, but then again as demons, when you know, you know. The MMCs are interesting and despite this not being a long book, the identity of each male character were easy to distinguish.

Alongside the relationships, there is a sinister plot against the ruling prince, but when a Queen takes her rightful place, the hunter may very easily become the prey.
All in all, this was an enjoyable experience so at some point, I will check some of the other books in this universe.

Taming Wrath is another book in the son's of Satan world and it doesn't disappoint. Shay is merely a human who has a job at a dive bar and fights on the side. That all changes when Lorcan shows up and changes her whole life. She is thrust into a whole new universe and let's just say it's not one to be taken lightly. Shay has not only one but multiple lovers who take her to new heights and she is also the queen of Wrath. I can't wait to read what happens in the next book in the series.

This book was so good. So not what I was expecting. I am going to eventually learn to read the summary before I jump into a book. I love this author so it really didn't matter what the book was about. I knew it was going to be good. They never fail me no matter the topic. Shay works as a bartender and is also an undefeated cage fighter. This girl can fight. Lorcan is out on the hunt for his mate. He must mate with someone in order to take over hell and and get his region of Wrath settled. The wrath of his people is threatening to over take their region. Prince Lorcan is losing more and more power everyday. He has to get a handle on it.

He knows Shay is the one and knows what he has to do. He just hopes she survives the transformation. Shay does survive and realizes that she is not on Earth anymore. She knows Lorcan did something to her. Something she will never forgive him for. She is on a mission to figure out how to get home. While trying to figure out what is going on and trying to get home, Shay runs into some people. Dante, the wraith, Kellan, the incubus, Blaze, an ifrit, and Draco, the hellhound. They are all drawn together in some way. Shay is also drawn to Lorcan but refuses to acknowledge the attraction because of what he did to her.

This book has it all. This steamy novel is off the charts. Will Shay be able to save Wrath from destroying itself? Is she the fated one? Shay definitely fits the bill, but she has many obstacles. Will she ever forgive Lorcan? This book is so good and will keep readers interested until the end. I am looking forward to reading the other books in this series. I am happy I stumbled upon it.

I already read a few books in the "Sons of Satan" world and I believe "Taming Wrath" is my favorite so far. It has everything you might expect in a novel about the Wrath circle of hell; anger, a thirst for vengeance, fights, blood, unaliving, ... But this circle of hell comes with a lot more than the typical things related to wrath: lighter feelings, friendship, found family, great worldbuilding, ... It creates an interesting mix of light and dark, with a fascinating storyline throughout the story.

Just like the other books in this world, I love the character building and how creative the author is in creating these characters (both in looks as in personality). The male characters have everything you could want in a demon and then some! I absolutely loved the dynamic between Shay and Lorcan, but I wouldn't be able to choose one man over the other in this book. Luckily this is a why choose novel, so I won't be forced to do so :-).

Taming Wrath is a steamy standalone in the shared world of the "Sons of Satan" and one I definitely recommend reading! Especially if you're a why choose reader who prefers steamy novels with good plot development and interesting characters (with interesting... appendages).

The Sons of Satan are back and this time - it's Wrath's turn. Shay is a fighter and she takes no mess from anyone. But her life gets thrown off the rails a bit when she crosses path with Wrath in bar where she works. After a fight, when he interrupts her having some "fun" she allows him to take her home for some seriously steamy time. What she doesn't plan on though is dying...and that's exactly what happens. What now? Well, now, it's time for her to harness the power that is just out of reach waiting for her.
Taming Wrath is on par for the steamy element. You get a ton of delicious steaminess quickly and then there is utter chaos. Similar to the other books in this series. This book had the potential to be my favorite, but falls just a hair short. I wanted some tail play and that just never really comes to be in this book. A tad disappointing, but it's still a delicious novel for those who love "why choose" novels.
I would have liked a bit more difference between this book and the others in this series, but its good overall. You'll find a lot of similarities between the stories, but I guess that is meant to help tie them all together better.
All in all, it's a good book. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

Taming Wrath is yet again another delicious ride into the Sons of Satan series this time by S Lucas and this time is all about the gorgeous and of so cocky Wrath and the spunky and fierce heroine that tames then all.

Shay is our fierce FMC and the perfect match for the Kingdom of Wrath and all her men—men that are all equally deliciously dark and different in their own way. Shay is no stranger to taking charge and fighting hard and luckily those skills will come in handy as she battles it out with her men to claim what’s rightfully hers.

I loved the groups dynamics and insane chemistry that led to some delightfully steamy times! I will say that the Kingdom of Wrath is up there as one of my favorites and full of fighting and anger, bloodshed and vengeance, anarchy and discourse and Lucas did an amazing job creating this fabulous new dimension of hell for us to all fall into.

Overall if you’re a fan of the Sons of Satan series then this is a definite must read for sure!

I adore how much of a tough cookie miss Shay is! I think a woman that can protect herself is sexy in every way. I am also a fan of Lorcan, since he runs hot under and above the collar, and his wrath shines through in his passions. I think the visuals in the circle of Wrath add to the sex appeal of the entire story - invisible ghost appendages, EXTRA bits and bobbles, magma overflowing, possessive hounds...you get the picture. And MY DUDES IS IT A PICTURE! I think my favorite part of the story was how Shay decided she was going to fix what was broken right away instead of fighting the situation she was in. That took a level of maturity befitting a queen. The only thing that I would change is how Shay and Lorcan's story line culminated - to me the ending of that part felt forced. However, I still thought this was a fantastic novel worth a read!

"Perfect. She's exactly what I need".
Lorcan has left Wrath, his realm in Hell in search for a queen. His realm is crumbling due to a curse and in order to break that curse he needs a queen. After seeing Shay in action and thinking she may be able to handle herself among the demons of his realm he decides .... She's the one!
I haven't read a book by S. Lucas before and picked this to read because of the series. This is why I love multi author series because quite often you find a gem which could have otherwise been overlooked. I loved this story, it was one that I really didn't want to put down until I finished. The world building and storyline were amazing and fitted in perfectly with other books in the series, the soon to be queen being killed and kidnapped into hell by her prince.
I really liked the character of Shay and how she didn't give Lorcan an easy time because of what he did to her. And normally with an RH I do secretly have a favourite male character but in this I really loved them all equally, perfect for a why choose novel!
This gets a 5 out of 5 star rating from me as a perfect addition to the Sons Of Satan series

You know the book is going to be good when the heroine is a fighter in Vegas for a living. Shay is one tough female in every way possible. She has taken all the bad that has happened to her and thrown it out the door and become the woman she wants to be. And beating women and men senseless is what she loves. Everything was going as planned for her until one prince of hell completely derails it all. The story has some great fighting scenes both in and out of the ring as sometimes evil needs a smack down too. Then there are the demons. Oh my will that turn the heat up even hotter than it altruism in hell. So expect lots of heat that does include some m/m action as our girl doesn’t have to choose when it comes to love.

The prince of Wrath needs a queen in order to get his powers back. But his plan to find one on Earth doesn't pan out as he planned when he meets Shay, a fiesty woman who isn't going to just bend to his will. Having some additional men competing for her attention, he may have a little more to handle than he bargained for.

Taming Wrath has become my favorite book in the series. Its has the steam, the need for vengeance, the interesting storyline, and everything in between. Shay is sweet, but also incredibly fiesty and doesn't give in easily. Her relationship with Lorcan, as well as the other men, all vary, since each one is different. They all focus on her and sometimes each other, so the steam is never dull.

The Sons of Satan series has been one hellishly good time! Each book focuses on a different seven deadly sin, so this book was full of Wrath! While each book in this series are a standalone, I have enjoyed reading as many as I could not only to see the different characters, but also to see how each author takes their sin and make it their own. Shay is the MFC and showcases her own wrath through night fighting. In steps Lorcan, the Prince of Wrath, and while he is the first to stake his claim on Shay, he isn't the only one who catches her eye, and boy, did she have some good ones to add to her collection. This was a deliciously wicked read with an interesting world, fun characters, and lots of steam!

Shay is living good. Tending bar. Whooping guys and gals in cage fights. Not perfect, but pretty fulfilling, so when a guy who definitely doesn’t belong walks into Shay’s bar, she notices. Who wouldn’t notice a guy that looks like him? When his presence nearly costs her a fight Shay is not happy.

Lorcan knows Shay is who he’s been searching for. She’s the Queen he needs. Taking what he wants, Lorcan gets more than he bargained for. Now Shay and Lorcan are in a battle of wills. Between them Wrath is in danger and getting more out of control everyday. Will Lorcan come to understand what he has in and with Shay? Will Shay unbend enough to see what Lorcan, Blaze, Draco, Dante, and Kellan are offering?

Continuing the Sons of Satan series the action in this book will keep readers going. Will the curse be broken?

While I'd not read any of the works of Ms Lucas previously, I jumped into this one because I had started the Sons of Satan series and was intrigued with the way it was shaping up. I am so thrilled that I chose to dive into a new author. This book was wonderful! Yes, there is a shared world that is created with the author groups so there is a great foundation to build on here, but that doesn't always make an authors job "easy". The rounding out of Shay and her supporting men was masterfully done, weaving together a tale that is one of my favorites in years. I actually went back to the beginning started it all over again after getting to the end! I can't even remember the last time I did that. If you read one book a year, make this that book!

I love the length of this novel. More shared world stand-alones need to be longer these days. This was pretty fast paced for a stand-alone.

Overall this story was more of a 3.5 but I decided to round up because I think these books may get better with time. My main gripe was that it is clear there were mentioned plot points yet we never got to explore those and deal with them in a deeper way. I don’t like when authors plug trauma as a personality trait. Why mention it if we aren’t going to ever get into those feelings? It felt very rushed and to give her more depth but it just came off as something to make her seem more multi-faceted than she actually is. There’s also like no MM…I went through the book a few times and couldn’t determine the outright explicit MM scenes.

I still may check out the next book to see if the characters in that book are more evolved.

I wasn't sure what to expect from the Wrath story, as in was it just going to be a lot of rage all the time, but it showed a lot of depth of emotion and character and it was a joy to read.

Shay was a strong and deadly human before she was ever taken to hell, and that strength and skill kept her alive through betrayals and attacks, making her the perfect choice for queen of the realm.

The men... oh yeah, these guys are HOT. Lorcan, Kellan, Dante, Draco and Blaze... damn, there's a reason it's a 'whychoose' because there's no way you could. They all have skills (oh my) and they're all well-defined characters and so very different. I loved every minute of their journey, and really recommend this book!

This foray into the Sons of Satan world isn’t just extra spicy, it’s extra EXTRA spicy. So, be prepared to turn up the air conditioning even if it’s below freezing outside. I loved Shay. She was so fierce and independent. No matter what obstacle she faced, she was prepared to defeat it. I was also pretty enamored with her demons. Each has his strengths and weaknesses that complement her, making their “family” greater for having all of them than if it didn’t. Now, my one-click finger’s getting a little itchy to pick up the other books in the series that I haven’t read yet.
I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book from the author.

Sons of Satan series returns with another phenomenal installment to this multi author shared universe. In this book we are in the Circle of Hell known as Wrath. Shay fits in the circle well after the hard life she has had. Shay is feisty, snarky, and fights for what she wants. Instead of fighting her new life she takes charge of it. Lorcan is the prince of Wrath and he definitely has his hands full with Shay. Good thing there is more demons in their dynamic. All of her guys are a good mix of what Shay needs. These demons have Extras that are there for Shays enjoyment. I got a kick out of these characters and they are perfect for each other. Highly recommended the Circle of Wrath’s wild ride.

An addition to the multi author series Sons of Satan...while each book can be read as a standalone - thank goodness since I've only read one other in this series, I would have liked to have been able to read more in this series beforehand. Regardless Lucas delivers in this series addition with our main character Shay. This is a well written, captivating read that is steamy...I mean fire, smoke, lava, ghost pepper HOT! I loved that Shay goes about fixing the problem rather than bemoaning the problem. So, great characters, well written, smooth flowing storyline (a bit rushed ending) and a HEA. More in the series / world but by other authors so check them out and you may find a new fav?!?

This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.

I picked this up as a standalone, not realising it was part of a shared universe, the last in the series, to be precise, so my TBR has just got bigger!

Based around the seven deadly sins, in this case wrath, Shay's life up til this point makes her a perfect fit. And it also means that the book may be a little on the darker side, as there are a lot of anger issues and fights!

Her men, her demons, are a great mix, who compliment her and each other. And they've definitely pushed this book onto my do not read at work list!

This was a great read, now to go back and find the rest!

Strikes at the readers heart

Shay, a bartender and cage fighter, sees Lorcan, a city boy, sitting at the end of her bar on a night that she also has a fight and thinks that he is definitely in the wrong place. As the story progresses a tryst ends badly, an escape attempt returns her sadly, and while chaos strikes she may end up killing things gladly. Taming Wrath strikes at the readers heart with emotion after emotion.

I received a free copy of the book from the author. I had the opportunity to review or not.

From beginning to end, this story was full throttle!! I loved Shay! She's tough, she's fierce, she's take charge and she's someone you definitely never want to double cross! Basically, she's everything the Queen of Wrath should be. This is a RH and I loved her connection with her men, no matter how hard she or they fought it. S Lucas put so much thought into creating this world and all of the characters! There was such thorough descriptions. The main characters, the villain, the plot- all so good!!

Spectacular addition to the Sons of Satan series.

I was immediately addicted to how fierce Shay is as an FMC. It was hilarious the enemies to lovers vibe between Shay and Lorcan. Kellan is my favorite from the harem followed closely by Draco. Amara was a hilariously twisted aspect of the story. This was an extremely easy, fast, and steamy read for me. I loved how Dante/Kellan/Lorcan had a relationship prior to Shay. For me the stories from Sons of Satan have felt seamless and I love this series.

In Taming Wrath we meet Shar, the cage-fighting bartender. She is rushed to Hell and she has a bone to pick with Lorcan, the Prince of Wrath. Before she is near a consolidation with the prince, she is faced with a shadow demon, an incubus, a hellhound, and a creature of pure lava. How will the prince react to her trying to end him at every turn while being on more than friendly terms with his bodyguard, first madvarer, assassin, and the lover from the circle of Lust?
The action is as high as the heat level in this series' conclusion. It took me by surprise several times and I definitely recommend it to anyone who likes their romance with a good dose of vengeance.
Only my extremely limited reading time had me finish this in 3 days and not mere hours. It was so good!

What a read. This book grabbed me and would not let me put it down no matter what I needed to do. It moves along at a pace that is perfect for this story making for an enjoyable and relaxing read. The characters are so real that you feel as though you know them and no matter what happens you cant help but love them. The story will grab you and keep you reading till the end. You will not be able to put it down once you start. This book is a must read.

This book as we enter the sixth circle of Satan's seven sons has a little more dominant vibe. Shay the soon to be queen is a force to be reckoned with.
She immediately steps into the matriarch role with the help and guidance of the new men at her side.
This was another wonderfully vibrant and imaginative addition to this multi author world. The new characters were well thought out and exciting to read.

This series just keeps getting better and better and I think Shay is one of my favourites characters. OK she has a few anger issues but who wouldn’t with a past like hers. I love seeing her relationship develop with all her men  from friendship to becoming lovers (I just love Draco). This book has the right ratio of light and dark to the storyline which just draws you in from the first page until the last.

It is Lorcan's the Prince of Wraths turn to find his Queen and what a Bada** she is. Shay is the perfect Lady for the Job of being Wraths mate she is a Cage fighter with the background of being in the foster system. They have a connection right away but he is Stubborn. But that's ok she has the other men to keep her occupied like Blaze Dante Draco and Kellan yum what a harem. Wrath was probably my favorite Son in this shared world.

I really enjoyed this book which is part of a shared world. Shay and Lorcan are the main characters and I really loved how they come together and I felt the characters complimented each other as they go through the trials they do within their relationship and the plot. It was a fun read and I adored the story right from the start!

Taming Wrath, from the Sons of Satan shared world, embodies the theme of wrath well. Shay, with her anger issues, has to adapt to being forced into Hell. With the realm on the brink of collapse and a rebellion brewing Shay and her demons face challenges. I love that each individual relationship is nurtured separately. Overall I enjoyed this book.

This was another great book in this joined series. Shay is a women that has grown up in the system and channels her anger with fighting. Lorcan does what all the princes have done and feeds her his blood and kills her. Shay learns why she was killed and starts to get attached to her tethers while she hates Lorcan for what he has done. Couldn’t put the book down.
