A concise, well written popular biography. I do wish it had a bibliography, though!

Elizabeth Stuart (daughter of James I of England) was one princess/queen I hadn't read about, or even knew of. She was a princess of England and Scotland, and briefly the Queen of Bohemia. It was through her bloodline that the current Queen Elizabeth II was born. I didn't find her life all that exciting, but still, the author did a good job covering it. No complaints.

It was a good book however, the author needs to cite her sources and include a bibliography

3,5 stars as it was a very good biography that made me feel like I knew the Winter Queen as a person, but the writing became tangled at times considering the author kept going back and forth in time without always mentioning the year and so (!) many names are alike.

Sometimes a slow read with all the old English excerpts from correspondence. Interesting read of a life lived very close to major events in England and Europe in the 17th century.
