I love family first and foremost, which is why writing family sagas and stories that involve family is so much fun. Maybe you can tell that from my books since they always feature the warmth and joy and ridiculousness that comes from having a close-knit family.

I also love animals and have taken in rescue dogs and cats and fostered dogs for the local animal shelter.

And of course, I love writing. All I need is a functioning brain (batteries not included), a pen, and paper, and I can write anywhere. Please don’t let a conversation with me lag because my imagination takes over and I. Am. Checked. Out!

USA Today bestselling author, Day Leclaire is the author of more than 60 novels and has received an impressive eleven nominations for the romance industry's most prestigious award, Romance Writers of America RITA© Award. Day lives in Charlotte, NC and spends her days obsessively writing while vaguely remembering to pay attention to her adorable husband, busy son and daughter-in-law, two tiny grandchildren, and two even tinier Teddy Bear dogs. Not to mention a whole lot of dust!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my books. If you'd leave a review, I'd very much appreciate it. Authors are dependent on reviews in order to obtain ads and garner new readers. I love hearing from my readers. For a personal response, please contact me at Day@DayLeclaire.com.

I've wanted to read this book for a while ever since we met Shayne and heard her story in Shotgun Marriage, how she was orphaned when she was three and her brother Rafe sent her with her mother's sister for a better life, instead what she got was a life without love until he rescued her at thirteen and then she fell in love and got married at the Cinderella ball, but she was seventeen and Rafe over-protective so he got her marriage annulled and then Shayne was in an accident wanting to find her husband again, and then she just gave up and her art.

Now, it's been nine years but she still loves Chaz and at the Cinderella ball meets him again but he has changed, hardened and doesn't believe in love instead he needs to get married, and she keeps her mask on to get to know him again until passion takes the best of them and then Rafe comes to burst their party, they get married but Chaz warns her not to expect love since he's not capable of it anymore, instead he needs her to build a home.

The best part was the letters, with the start of every chapter we read about how Chaz tried to find her so badly, but Rafe kept interfering and Chaz even went to the ball, and finally in despair sought some comfort and told himself his heart was dead, now he has a daughter who is three and result of that and he needs Shayne to make a home for them.

I loved Shayne how sweet she was, she believed despite getting hurt so many times and drove Chaz crazy with the way she took over his life, home, employees, all the while only giving him little kisses while he feared losing her and this time for good.

Really enjoyed this book.

Shayne is a very endearing character. So is Chaz. They were married but their marriage was annulled. Nine years later, they meet again and marry but there are too many issues to resolve.

I loved the secondary characters, Penny, Jumbo and Mojo, all male employs of Chaz. I also liked Dona Isabella, a matriarch of the family....

It has a good story line and is pretty enjoyable....
