The Hunters marked Adie’s bakery. Now they plan to capture and harvest her body to use in their dark magic. Demons are supposed to be the boogeymen in this world, so why are these evil witches so much worse? The Librarian told her to gather her people close, that she would need all of her resources to survive the coming battle, but her sexy demons seem determined to keep her out of it. How can she protect her people and herself if she’s put in the corner and told to wait? As a demon who loves to bake and a succubus who refuses to feed on humans, is there a place for Adie in this world? And what price will she pay to find it?

Pacific Northwest author L.L. Frost writes urban fantasy and paranormal romance with snarky characters and descriptive world-building. Whether she's writing a fast burn romance about witches, wolf shifters, and vampires, or teasing a slow burn romance while hunting demonic monsters, her passion is for character driven novels.
Growing up in a rainforest gave L.L. Frost plenty of time to daydream while spending cozy days under a blanket with her cats by her side. Sipping tea or chugging coffee, you can find her with a book or laptop in hand, imagining new worlds.
I never knew I needed stories about Succubi in my life until I read them for the first time. First there was the amazing book by Melissa Haag and now there's this series. It seems that Succubi are actually my kind of monsters. I might like them even more than I like vampires and werewolves and that means something.
But it's not just the Succubus part that makes this book and series so great. It's for the most part Adie herself. Her character and personality clash with being a succubus. Everything she should naturally be she is not. And watching her struggle with that, watching her struggle with expectations and how other people deal with her, watching her stubbornly staying the awesome person she is and watching how slowly that's also becoming a quality, that's what makes this story so great.
And it also makes it so easy to understand why her men fall more and more in love with her. It's hard to not love Adie. On top of that, she challenges them. She challenges their way of thinking and way of living and all those things they considered normal for such a long time. But, they also challenge her. They show her that some things are not exactly as she sees them, they show her that there is more to her powers and who she is and they show her that they do care. It's very sweet actually.
In this book there's also a very exciting plot. I personally hadn't grown bored yet with Adie dealing with the normal life things that are very challenging for a succubus, but I also really enjoyed this adventure. It had a little mystery vibe, and I doubt we've completely solved it yet, and there were a lot of dangerous situations, which I really enjoyed because it showed the relationships between Adie and those around her so well.
I can't wait to dive into the next book and to see what Adie is awaiting now. I assume it's not gonna be an entire book of Adie happily working in her bakery.
The Hunters are back and Adie and her team have to come together under pressure to stop them from capturing demons- but will it be that easy when their main targets is Adie herself?
This is one I need to do a re-read on to recap how it started. I liked that Tobias and Addie finally got there and she got over her fear of Domnall. The guys felt secondary to the imps and Tac, but that may because they were forcing her into the damsel in distress role. I felt sorry for Julian. Domnall's re-appearance pissed me off, but I did like how it ended. Julian and Addie were a well-oiled machine there.

My Rating: 3 Stars TL;DR If you aren't interested in the details but just want some general thoughts, full review will follow below. Did I finish the book? Yes. Did I enjoy this book? Yes, probably the most out of this series so far. Am I looking forward to continuing? I'm skeptical but plan to give it a chance.
I have never been a fan of authors squeezing characters and worlds for all they are worth and then some. I have enjoyed this series up to this point and while I know there are things left open I would have been very happy if this has simply just been the end of the series with an epilogue thrown in at the end. I have worries for the rest of the series and it feeling exhausting to read after having a base conclusion of the current issues within the FMC's life.
---- Full Review
Succubus Hunted by L.L Frost is the 4th installment of The (un)Lucky Succubus series following our FMC Adie Pond who is just trying to learn how to properly be a succubus in the world after leaving Dreamland decades before she should have. The book follows Adie's relationships with the three destruction demons that she is contracted to, the relationship with her mentor and 'family' of other succubus and incubi, and her relationship with her best friend, co-chef, and baku demon along with her men. [None of that is spoilers unless you haven't read books 1-3 and if you haven't then why are you looking at reviews on book 4 silly.]
The writing style continues to be easy to read and follow, although as the books go on the grammatical and spelling errors do seem to be increasing but the plot keeps chugging along at the same pace and never really feeling rushed. I do worry for the books following this one as a certain sense of closure was felt at the end of this book. I don't particularly like seeing characters and world flayed to keep a series going when there should be a stopping point and knowing there are 9 books total has me concerned for what else will come in the next few books that won't feel over done or simply like we are trying to get as much out of them as we can.
Let's Talk Logistics some spoilers below but will be hidden - The Relationships; We finally get to see the relationships between some of these characters shift and grow which is nice. We get a bit more insight into some characters who seemed more aloof or uncaring but hide their deeper feelings behind an ego.
- The Betrayals; I tend to veer away from thrillers and mystery based books because I overthink everything and nearly always call the twists before they happen, but I can say I didn't particularly see this one coming which was refreshing, but also makes me wonder if I just skipped past or missed the clues.
- The Quest; I do like how the quest itself was set up and presented and how the end goal of said quest was more so left to Adie's choices to judge her character overall. This was a nice little tidbit within the plot itself .
Final Thoughts Overall this is currently my favorite of this series seeing as it had some actual action and the most character growth that we have seen thus far from our FMC and her friends. I am wary about continuing on, as stated above, I worry that after feeling a certain sense of completion this will fall into the same vibe as other series where the series should have ended at a certain point but instead was just butchered to make as many books as possible, I just hope this isn't the case here.
I do intend to continue on with the series, even as the books continue to get increasingly longer as we go (I started this excited that this could be a quick series read but seeing as the next book is nearly 600 pages I'm realizing I was incorrect in that thought at least in regards to page length). I am excited to see where this world can take us and just hoping that it doesn't feel like a money grab.
I hope those that choose to read this book love it, and happy reading!
Well, fudgecicle! Adie's gone and got herself marked by hunters, evil witches who hunt demons. And her sexy demons keep telling her to sit back, they'll take care of everything. But Adie isn't some damsel in distress and she'll fix her own issues with the hunters, thank you very much!
The guys (yummy ice cream Emil, smoking hot Tobias, and electric Kellen), the imps, her friends, a few good witches, and the rest of the odd-ball demons who make up Adie's tribe all make appearances in this book.
This book is a compilation of the serial issues #16 through #22. I enjoy re-reading the compiled serials because Ms. Frost always seems to throw in a bonus chapter for us. Totally worth it for me. But I'm addicted to Emil…so… more please!
This was a much longer book than the last three, and it made the plot more complex. Demon Hunters have come to town and it appears that Adie is a target, being a weak demon and easy to trap, kill and harvest for parts. The Librarian decides to give a Quest to Adie which involves getting rid of the Hunters.
During the course of the Quest, Adie spends more time with her Destruction Demons and becomes much better friends with Tally and her men. She also becomes more attached to her imps.
Adie’s existence is complex and far from run of the mill according to the world lore created by the author and it means that we learn about the demons at the same time we learn how unusual she is. It’s a clever technique for world building.
I enjoyed this read and was more satisfied at the end of it than the previous books, simply because there was more meat to the story and a lot of the world and character building had already been done in the previous books. I definitely want to see what happens to Adie next.
I really enjoy this series and I would recommend it everywhere but I also think you have to overlook or enjoy certain aspects of it to like it.
For example in one of the previous books (can't remember if it was the second or third one) Adie is injured and in order to heal and not lose the corporate form her mentor takes her into Dreamland and leaves the body behind. He does that so the body can heal and apparently that means the MMCs have sex with her body but without her in it? I thought that was pretty weird and I chose to just ignore that fact. Because if I start to think about consens this book goes downhill fast.
Another example is she calls the other succubi and incubi her cousins and implies that they are family but when her cousin Julian needs energy she kisses him to transfer energy. That on it self is weird enough but Kellan the storm demon gets horny watching that. And that's just... no, please never say that again. But both scenes are over fairly quickly and then either not mentioned or just a sentence and you can definitely overlook these.
Other than that great book and great series. I liked the villains in this one and even though you can kind of see the twist coming I didn't think it would play out like this. I hope the librarian appears in the next books as well.

I am so addicted to this series. I am caught up with all the released serials but I can't stop reading this story. Do you ever become so engrossed with characters and a story line that you find it hard to start a new book/author because you can't stop thinking about the other series? That is where I'm at with this Succubus series by L.L. Frost. It is spoiling me for anything else. This is my favorite book in the series for the following reasons, 1) I love the relationship progress that takes place, especially with Tobias (yum), 2) I love seeing Adie really beginning to come into her powers. She was always strong mentally and morally (which I love about her) but she is also starting to come more into physical powers and it's awesome, she is a force and 3), I love the ending with her scene with Julian against Domnhal. As always, the writing is so solid and the story has everything including action, drama, humor, romance, HOT and smexy times. It is such an escape. If you haven't started reading this series, do it!
Crouching, I stare at the broken handle, then wedge my fingers under the door to pry it open, but it sticks in place. "Oh no," Tobias purrs, smug satisfaction in his voice. "Whatever will we do now."
At this point in this series, I pretty much live for the Adie x her guys scenes. The individual plotlines happening are okay but when they interrupt possible spice? *frowns* JK, some of the content - the Librarian quest, the relocation of the imps - was super fun to read.
"You are not welcome in my bed," Emil growls, and where out bodies touch, my skin grows numb from the cold. "Yet here I am." Heat engulfs my other side, and Tobias's hand slides along my hip. "We've shared before." Ice cracks on Emil's lips as he speaks. "I'm not in the mood to share."
I really enjoy some of the dynamics at play in this series. Like how or how Adie's imps exist around her.
Adie is assigned a Quest by the Librarian in this one, ignores it at first, then sets out to accomplish it and the journey through these events helps us understand some of these characters a lot better.
The bad guy in this one was scary but he was pretty easily defeated which was kind of a let down. But the events with him helped me understand Julian better than before (he’s not a complete ass).
I enjoyed seeing each of the guys showing that they’ve started to have feelings for Adie. By now, we’ve seen enough of these guys to see that they are distinct characters but now I’m curious to know more about their lives pre-Adie. How did they meet? Why do they live together?
I love that demons are jerks and Adie is presumed to be weak and “unnatural” by them because she’s kind. Yet her kindness is actually more of a strength because she wins people over. She’s made a lot of very loyal friends and I particularly love her friendship with Tally and how Tally’s men are now also loyal to Adie because she is Tally’s friend.

Fantastic! I loved this series so far and can't wait for more!! or for Tally's book!!
That being said I hate that it is a serial, even if it means I get little doses of it more frequently. There were also a few random inconsistencies with the story like she's wearing jeans in one scene and it changes to leggings later in the scene or person x tends to hoard when later it is person y, that kind of thing. I didn't think it took much away from the stories though. Also side note I discovered: the people she calls her cousins aren't, as far as I am aware, biologically related. It seems that all succubus/incubus are called 'cousins'.
I loved them and have read them a few times already! and I cannot wait for more. As the first one is free I definitely recommend you downloading it and trying the books yourself.
I didn't enjoy this continuation from book 3 as much as the first 3 books. This book didn't flow as well & left me a little disappointed a the ending. This picks up where book 3 left off. A new reader definitely needs to start with book 1, or this won't make much sense. Adie is a character that I liked. The 3 destruction demons in her RH are kind a of likable at this point though it took long, all 4 books to get to this point with them. I had hoped that there would have been more of a commitment factor behind the relationships in the RH than there was. I also felt the ending to this book was rushed, and things happened too easily to solve the problems. Not sure I would want to continue with the series at this point, if there are more books to come. This left off at an ending point that wasn't a cliff-hanger.
Overall the story was really good! The story continues to build as Adie amd her Demons of destruction grow closer (finally) there is heartbreak as certain twists that I didnt see coming occur but the ending was nice to read! I look forward to seeing what comes next for Adie and see how she will continue to grow!
The only thing that bothered me while reading is there I would notice some over explanations on certain parts where at the beginning didnt bother me bc it was referring previous book but it would do throughout which may just be because it was serials that were placed together and it could be separate books when it's in serial form. But this is something that can be over looked rather easily when reading.
This is actually one of the better done RH series out there. I see moments of eloquence and hilarity in these chapters, and I do honestly like the protagonist, Adie. She has a backbone. She's moral. She's attracted to the demons she's contracted to be with, and I've seen very nice progression on that front--from her grudgingly liking them to openly worrying about their safety and happiness.
The only thing is the pacing. In this one, the Big Bad Showdown sort of happens off screen? And there's looooong build-up only for it all to be over super quickly. I didn't feel much catharsis. There's also a character in here that I thought had potential to be a twisted, complicated, interesting, morally gray/black ongoing source of conflict but...no.
The early books were rather fast paced and short (~200 pages) but this book is over 400 I think. I love the main character, her guys are decent, and her little core of friends are wonderful but at this point the plot feels like it was being dragged out unnecessarily and unsatisfyingly. If you read books 1-4, you'll get the adventure, the characters background and growth, as well as the humor and spice AND the story stops at an easy non-cliff-hanger moment in time. If you're more devoted than me you can read on obviously but if you consider picking up book 1 you need to devote through book 4 at minimum, and the time investment is pretty well worth it.
I devoured this story as quickly as I could, gobbled it up faster than Domnall snacks a coven of witches. Poor Boo, growing up is hard work and the innocence of youth often gets a bit scorched. Following the romance of the destruction demons is like watching a high speed chase -- full of twists and turns, but the end is always predicted if they don't crash and burn. Ice Chaos and Storms are no match for Adie's sweetness -- the zany escapades of imps, cupcakes, witches and hunters keeps the story rolling along. The Librarian's quest adds some adventure, and intrigue. Another great installment in Adie's story.
You know how you can either eat until you're full or eat until you're just not hungry? This book is the latter, I find that I want more but there isn't any. Doesn't mean I enjoyed it less, just that I wasn't full yet.
For example, the barely there hints of a strong succubus, steamy scenes that get interrupted, the guys being sweet but then they randomly throw in a negative comment?
Anyways, the rest was good. Quite good, actually. I have enjoyed Adeline's growth so far and am excited for her end result.
So glad that guy is de*ad, like wow was he a pain. I'm also still on the fence about Julian, kinda want to push him off that fence.
This was a good series. The beginning books are better than the later books. It is fun to see how Adie came to be, how she got to where she is, and to see her grow into what she will become. There are some good sex scenes and there is some fun plot lines and twists. But books 5 & 6 (other than the sex) are lacking in plot creativity and writing making the books drag along. Just wanted to warn you before you become too invested in this series on the first book.
Right, right. This is what happens when you read the first 5 books and then read a few more books and now have to review. One piece of advice - review on time. Hope I follow it. After all, I'm only reviewing now cause I have to return some books to my kindle unlimited. So our girl finds out she is marked, there are hunter-witches and she needs to find he who devourers. There is plenty of action and bad decisions in this one, including one much deserving end for a bad guy. What can I say more? It's a great book.
Adie is just trying to be a good succubus, run a good business, new good roommate and possibly more to her guys, and a good protector of imps. But when one of hers is stolen by the hunters, all bets are off. They might be low level nothings to others but they're her friends and, as the holder of their contracts, their defender.
Spoilers ahead. Adie is developing so much. She's holding true to her beliefs but is willing to adapt as necessary. Emil is thawing. Kellen is still crude but warning up, too. Even Tobias is coming around for cuddles.
But the Unlucky Succubus books are on a very short list of books I preorder and the monthly offerings are typically read by 1230 am the day they come out on unlimited. This was a very nice addition to her story. I am also curious about Tally and her witches and it was nice getting a peek at their home life. I am looking forward to the start of her next adventure in May.
I'm actually not a huge fan of serials, so I love seeing them come together in the longer book. Book 4 revolves around the witch hunters and demon, Domnall. While Domnall might be a demon like Adie and the others, he's on no one's side but his own. I've gotta say I'm happy with what happens in the end, but I wont say anymore to avoid spoilers.
Fantastic series from start to end. The story resolves around adie and the challenges she faces of not only opening her Bakery business but keeping 3 destructive demons in check. Throw in some mischievous imps and it’s award winning combination. The author has done a fantastic job of keeping you enthralled and the characters are all so well written. Can’t wait for the next instalment.
I have totally enjoyed this series. So far, I love the main characters and the secondary characters. The world building and plot are exceptional, too. I found that a succubus with values to be a nice change. I don't normally read books about demons, but this is not as dark as some others with this type of plot. The story has humor and drama, romance and adventure. All in all, it is very well done.
I read the first five of these in a row and this is basically a review for all of them. Reverse harem, but suffers from what annoys me in much of the genre. The men have only superficial character development. Adie should be way more angry about the machinations that set their relationships in motion, plus the fuckery that happens in the first book. The weird power dynamics are not addressed in any meaningful way. The plots meanders after the first two books or so.
Gimme more scenes with the guys, I'm begging. Gimme group scenes and confessions of emotional connections. Also, I really need to look into whether Tally has her own books, because I'm loving her and her witches.
The Hunters and the Librarian in this book were so interesting. Great bit of action and intrigue sprinkled in with everything, and Adie's coming along nicely with her powers, with the guys, with being more confident!
This book had some twists I didn't see coming. I'm not big on spoilers so I'll let you find out for yourself but I enjoyed the story and the affection her destruction demons are showing. Supporting cast help makes the book. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a fifth book to read in this series.
