Now, my best friend is marrying my ex-stepfather and wants me to be the maid-of-honour. Things are—complicated. I didn’t think it could get any worse, until I crash my car on a backwoods country road and an obnoxious, but oh-so-hot mechanic comes along to save the day.
His quiet, solitary life is about to get sucked into hers . . .
Chris I prefer to mind my business and keep a low profile. The last thing I need is drama. Until Zoey Dixon comes crashing into town—literally. After a mind-blowing one-night stand, I’m sure I’ll never see her again. Until I realize we’re heading to the same wedding and offer to drive her there. And all that drama I’ve been avoiding? Passion ignites between the arguing and the travel and they both end up realizing that the other is exactly what they need. But Chris has had a hard life and suffered immense loss. Even though he is drawn to her, and falling hard and fast, he is terrified of what could happen if she stays on the path she is on.
A shock betrayal sends them into a spiral and causes Zoey to lash out. Will she be able to make the right choice needed to be in his life? Or will her habit of self-destruction cause her to lose him for good?
This is the second book in the Daddy Issues series. It can be read as a standalone. It is a well written book that follows Zoey and Chris. It is a hot and steamy read. This is a much, much better than the first. The characters are likable even with all their flaws.

It’s save to say that I enjoyed this book better than the first. I related to zoey a lot , not about the drinking , but about the other stuff. I feel like I felt her pain. It was just an amazing book to read.
Mommy Dearest. Amazing book. Zoey is on her way to her best friend’s wedding when she crashes her car. Calling a tow truck to help her she is surprised by the voice on the other end of the line because it’s doing something to her. When Chris, the owner of the voice, arrives she realizes that the man doesn’t do the voice justice. Chris sees a pampered princess who expects everyone to do as she wants. Once they arrive things are tense for Zoey as she is determined to stay away from her addiction. The night before the wedding she gets a call from her mother telling her that she’s on her way to crash the celebration. When she tells Chris he makes sure everyone knows what is coming. The ceremony is beautiful and uneventful but disaster hit right before dinner at the reception. THE uninvited guest has arrived but, leaves when Zoey tells her to go. She should have known it wouldn’t be as easy as that. Chris notices that something is wrong with Zoey and thinks she relapsed. The Filthy Mechanic has all the ingredients for a misunderstood girl and sweet loving man. I was so excited to read Zoey’s back story as she was portrayed as an entitled spoiled brat. This book explains Zoey’s character in depth and you cannot help but want to hug this poor child who has some serious childhood trauma. She really has “daddy issues” and needs a strong alpha male to put her in her place. She bumps into Chris who fixes her car as she is heading west to her best friends wedding. Chris handled Zoey’s outburst of attention very well. He is exactly what Zoey needed in her life. The story leads you through Chris taming Zoey and Zoey opening up Chris. There ride up to the west coast is full of adventure and you get an in depth look into what makes Zoey tick. The book was well written and you will need a spanking if you didn’t like this book.
This is Book 2 in the Daddy Issues Series by this author, and can be read as a standalone. It is an age gap romance between Zoey and Chris. Their sizzling chemistry and strong connection are undeniable as they navigate the bumpy road to their forever after. It is a love story with drama and steam, plus engaging secondary characters to keep the reader interested. A fun read with heart, heat, some dominance, and a happy ending.

This is the second book in the Daddy Issues series, following Zoey and Chris. While Zoey and Chris had a love/hate dynamic, I also had a love/dislike thing with Zoey. I could sympathize for her past and what she has gone though but at points i wasn't her biggest fan. Zoey and Chris have a high heat story that is a fast burn. I love their banter. This is a well written story with a well developed plot and character.
Filthy Mechanic (Book 2 of Daddy Issues) by Daisy St. James. OMG- after reading book 1 Dirty Professor, I thought I was ready for Zoey’s story. I was not! Same intensity and depravity I was expecting but this story was so much more. Full of heat, angst, and conflict mixed with combustible passion and feelings. I enjoyed the authors’ flair for storytelling and would recommend this book to others. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
So, I had a hard time liking Zoey, in spite of everything that she went through. Chris was easier for me to connect with, but by the end, I liked their dynamic together and how they balanced each other out. The story was written well and it is entertaining and fun to read and it’s not what I would call dark, but it does have some impact play, or punishment play, depending on how you see it. I don’t have a problem with that, but some readers might not like it, so I thought I’d mention it. Ultimately I really enjoyed this book, and I am looking forward to more in this series.
5 ⭐️s= Perfect story, exciting, engrossing, well developed complex characters, solid plot with few to no holes, descriptive environments and place settings, great mystery elements, realistic dialogue, believable reactions and behaviors, loved this story so much I’d buy it.
4 ⭐️s= Great story, highly entertaining and enjoyable, exciting storyline, well developed characters and settings, a few discrepancies but nothing that can’t be overlooked. Believable actions and reactions, realistic dialogue, a book I would consider buying.
3 ⭐️s= Good but not great story, noticeable discrepancies, grammatical and or spelling errors, undeveloped characters or unbelievable behaviors but still readable. Nothing majorly wrong with the story, just not interesting enough for me to continue. Would not buy the book.
2 ⭐️s= Not offended by the story, but not interested enough to finish. Unbelievable characters, poor writing, many mistakes, big holes or discrepancies, many spelling or grammatical errors, characters not believable, unlikeable or TSTL.
1 ⭐️= Offensive, extremely poor writing, horrible characters, victimization, gaslighting, blatant abuse, unnecessary violence, child endangerment, or any other highly objectionable behaviors by Main characters. Would never buy this book, and do not recommend it to anyone.

This book has so much raw emotion in it! There's so many issues - abandonment, misunderstandings, betrayal, past hurts and feelings of worthlessness.
Zoey Dixon is 20, an alcoholic and often a drug user of Xanax or Molly. She's the stereotypical "poor little rich girl". Her father, even when he had custody of her, was largely absent off chasing women. Her mother, Margaret, a famous model is always in competition with Zoey, the younger model of herself. Zoey has always been considered to be a complete failure and unworthy of being loved.
Zoey had gone to LA to become an actress. She tried for a role via the casting couch which didn't work well for her. Then all her money was stolen. Two weeks later she returned to her mother's to find that her mother cut her money off, sold the house, moved and had remarried.
Zoey's best friend, Caroline, is marrying Zoey's ex-stepfather, Manuel. She's been asked to be Caroline's maid of honor. Not able to afford an airline ticket she starts driving across Canada for the wedding. After drinking and driving she crashes her car into a ditch and calls for a tow.
Chris Caulfield is 39 and owns the auto shop she called for a tow. He's not happy to see she'd been drinking and driving. He's still mourning the loss of his girlfriend, Jo, who died several years ago. He recognizes that Zoey is trouble with a capital T, but he's drawn to her despite that. After she learns that he's Manuel's best friend and will be the best man, they decide drive together to the wedding while parts are ordered for her car.
Zoey is trying to change, but her sense of worthlessness often interferes.
She does manage to salvage her relationship with Manuel. After all, he was the most fatherly figure in her life even if he didn't want to be around her. But then Mommy dearest arrives at the wedding...

This is the second book in the daddy issues series, but you can read as a complete standalone. I enjoyed the first book, but this was fantastic.
I was a little apprehensive at first as Zoey is such a complicated character with so many issues but everything was dealt with sensitively and acknowledged that these things don't change overnight.
The sparks between Chris our sexy mechanic who swoops in and saves the day and Zoey are flying from thier first conversations. All the steamy scenes are really hot and not overdone.
I really enjoyed it, it was a quick read and different in tone to the first book, in a good way, it was alot more grounded and therefore more relatable.
I don't think you will be disappointed. Big trigger warning for alcoholism, but it is dealt with sensitively and from various view points.

Zoey is an old tortured soul in a young princess, she’s lived life with a silver spoon in her mouth, but she’s never really known love. Chris is older, so he should be wiser, right? When Chris gets the call to tow Zoey’s busted car, the two of them turn their initial antagonism into intense lust, then back to hate, then lust, then…more. I loved the intense emotional rollercoaster these two ride - definitely never a dull moment in this book. Zoey was such a broken doll, so messed up and dramatic with her cries for attention - Daisy St James did a phenomenal job of creating such a likeable unlikeable character. This is my first book by Ms St James, but now I’m off to read Dirty Professor.
Much much better then the first. You could really love the characters even with all their flaws. Zoey is really a poor rich girl. She has been rejected constantly and has had no love. Chris has had tragedy in his life and trying to hide. They are two lost souls. He sees right through her. How ironic they have people in common too. Their story is sweet and sexy. Heartfelt too. I’m so glad he put Manuel in his place too! Good story.
Zoey has been spiraling out of control for years. No one really cared about her to try and help her deal with her pain. So, she drank and partied it away. Now she is going to be her best friend's maid of honor at which her friend is marrying her ex-stepfather. When she crashes her car Zoey meets the person that will change her life. Chris is a mechanic and reluctantly goes to tow Zoey and her car into the garage. Sparks fly between them from the moment they meet. Its not long that she learns that he is friends with her former stepfather and wonders what he has been told about her. Chris agrees to drive them to wedding and it gives them time to grow close. Will Chris be able to show Zoey that someone does care about her when everyone else has failed her? Will something more grow between them?
This is an amazing story that once I started it I couldn't put it down. This is a well written and very entertaining story. It's a book that would draw any book lover in.

This is a hot and steamy story that takes off from the start.
Zoey life is in a twist as she heads to her best friend's wedding, who is marrying her ex-stepfather. On the outside she might be appeared to be spoiled brat, but the self-doubt and questions she has keeps the wall up.
Chris is a mechanic that prefers to be by himself and a simple life. When called out to an accident, his quiet life just went out the window. Things heat up not only after a night, but soon to find out they are headed to the same wedding.
This hot and steamy story grabs you and keeps you page after page.

I loved Zoey and Chris' story! The age gap, the wild child vs. the older man, the cross country road trip forced proximation! There's no slow burn here - Daisy St. James floors it! While the story is an interconnected stand alone, you don't have to read Dirty Professor first (but why wouldn't you want to?!). Highly recommend!
Filthy Mechanic: An Enemies to Lovers, Forbidden, Age Gap, Contemporary Romance. Book 2 of Daddy Issues Daisy St. James
The story and characters, Zoey and Chris, were beautifully written. The addition of the secondary characters was brilliant. I love the friendships and the support. Great read.

I love a good Mechanic story, especially a stubborn mechanic that never gives up. I loved the banter, and the love/hate relationship Zoey and Chris have. Definitely a sweet enemies to lovers romance with some steam and a warm your heart ending.
This is the second book in the Daddy Issues series. I was apprehensive to like Zoey at first as she is a complicated character but I feel Daisy delt with those issues with sensitivity and acknowledged that these things don't change overnight. The chemistry between Chris to hot mechanic who saves the day and Zoey are flying from thier first conversations. All the steamy scenes are really hot and not overdone like other books. Be aware of the alcoholism trigger warning before reading.

Zoey was a brat. Who wanted attention and would do anything to get it. Until she wrecked her car and had to get a tow.
Chris was someone who kelp to himself. Until he might Zoey. Even though she was a brat. He was determined to punish her. Even if it took him bending her over his knee and spanking her ass.
I devoured this book, and y’all it was intense! On the surface Zoey is a wild, stunningly gorgeous woman, and spoiled rotten. But inside she is full of self-loathing and in the throes of a terrible alcohol addiction thanks to an absentee father and a negligent narcissistic mother and the trauma they inflicted (and continue to do so) on her. Enter Chris, who is called to tow her car after a drunk driving accident. He’s got his own trauma in regards to alcoholism. He sees her for the spoiled brat she is, but he’s slowly becoming obsessed with her and wants to take care of her. The chemistry is off the freaking charts as they road trip for a week together to get to Manuel & Carolina’s wedding (characters from book 1). And the spice was instense. I’m talking 5 🌶🌶🌶🌶🌶!
-Large age gap: Zoey is in her early 20s and Chris is in his late 30s. -Not a slow burn 🔥🔥🔥 -Daddy k!nk lite, as in she sometimes calls him Daddy, but sarcastically. There are lots of spanks. Hot, delicious spanks. -Forced proximity, and sometimes there’s only 1 bed 😉 -No cheating, no OM/OW drama -Beautiful HEA -And for the people who hate them, there’s no pregnancy or epilogue with kids.
This story is adorable and so romantic. I loved every minute of their story and the way they complemented each other was insanely perfect! Chris has never felt the pull and emotional connection he has immediately after meeting Zoey! She is a brat, a lot younger then him, has a drinking problem, and is spoiled; however all those things don’t make him run instead he wants to give her something she’s never been given-HOPE! He wants to show her what she’s worth and how much stronger and smarter she really is and that he will do anything and everything to help her see that within herself.
The irony is when they both realize they are headed to their best friend’s wedding aka he’s Manuel (groom) best man and Zoey’s heading to Caroline (bride) to be her maid of honor! The irony is hilarious but it also strengthens their bond because they both don’t want to let down some of the most important people in their life!
This is an intense story but it’s worth all the ups and downs to see how it all works out for these amazing characters. Happy Reading!!
Zoey Dixon readily convinced me that she has let all of the life-disappointments she claims to have experienced make her into an unlikable spoiled brat. The rest of the story is about Zoey and Chris driving to a wedding together since she crashes her car on a backroad. Since they have the same destination to get to, it made sense. Chris Caufield tries to avoid drama, but he has found the ultimate Drama Queen in Zoey and is in for a bumpy ride.
Unfortunately, the blurb didn’t make any mention of juvenile, childish spanking rituals or I would have never offered to review this book. I positively do not like discipline, punishment, or spanking themes, feeling they are totally inappropriate as relates to adults. If this is your “thing”, enjoy the book. It was ruined for me as soon as I saw it head in that direction.
Filthy Mechanic is the second book in the Daddy Issues series by Daisy St. James. If you have read Dirty Professor, you have already met the character featured in this novel, Zoey.
If this is the first time you're reading this author, no worries, this book can be read as a stand-alone. However, there may be some spoilers.
Welcome to the Zoey sideshow. After failing as an actress and losing all her money, Zoey finds herself homeless, but with some glimmer of hope in her horizon, her best friend's wedding. In typical Zoey fashion, she finds trouble along the way.
This book was fantastic. You can't help but fall in love with Zoey. She is overdue for a happily ever after.
When Zoey gets a call from her best friend to be her maid of honor, she takes a road trip. She runs her car in a ditch after being on an alcohol binge and calls a mechanic. He is drawn to the child-woman who definitely has daddy issues along with a narcissistic mother. When they find out they are going to the same wedding, a road trip is in order for the two. This story had me laughing and cheering connecting with these two. It is descriptive with a well-developed plot and enticing characters that really brings this story to life!

This story is so good and the characters practically melted my tablet! I highly recommend this book! This is the second book in the series, but can be read as a standalone.
On her way to her friend Caroline's wedding (to Zoey's ex-stepfather), Zoey has car issues and needs a tow. Chris owns the local garage and answers the call. Zoey would like to tip him in a very special way, but then she discovers he is best friends with her ex-stepfather.
Zoey acts out since that is the only way she knows how to cope with issues. Lucky for her, Chris knows how to handle a brat...

This is book 2 of the daddy issues series. Zoey is heading out to her best friends wedding (she's marrying Zoey's mom's ex). Zoey is a wreck and ends up drinking and wrecks her car. The hot mechanic Chris comes to pick her up. Her car won't be ready for a week or so. They have a huge attraction. I really like Chris and love their interactions. Zoey finds out Chris is going to the wedding too.. he's Her ex step dad's best friend. So they travel together....yassss.

Wow... I couldn't put it down, it's an absolutely riveting read! There's a young beautiful, entitled woman alongside a hot, strong and protective man. Both have experienced troubled pasts. There's plenty of passion, drama, love, friendship and spicy scenes throughout. You get to see them work through their insecurities together. The author also tackles a difficult topic in a compassionate way. Enjoy!.

For some reason, I seem to prefer Zoey and Chris' story. You see two broken people trying to get it all together, and you find yourself rooting for their healing, their growth, their restoration, and also their love.
Instant attraction, but you can see the care despite the tantrum and denials. Glad they found each other.
