After a minor mistake, Imogen, AKA Ginny, goes from being the respected daughter of the Beta of the Paxon pack to being reviled as ‘the Pack Slut’. Although she is the true mate to the next Alpha of her pack, Nate, he has made it very clear to her that he doesn’t plan to make her his Luna.
So Imogen contents herself with being Nate’s ‘booty call’ and accepts his and the pack’s disrespect and mistreatment until she meets Thomas Quinn.
Surprisingly, Thomas sees HER, really sees through the slutty façade she hides behind for fear of revealing her destructive secrets. He also offers a way out of her miserable life in the Paxon pack. But then Nate discovers Imogen’s secrets.
Now Imogen has to make a choice: leave for the unknown with Thomas, or stay and try to become the Paxon pack Luna?
Meanwhile, ominous dark clouds loom in the world’s future as an evil sect masterminds a plan to resurrect a malevolent god that has been linked to Imogen by prophecy.
The Pack Slut is the first fated mates' shifter romance book in an exciting rejected mates standalone series: The Fae Omegas Series.
Warning: This book contains varying degrees of the following: verbal abuse, bullying, suicidal thoughts, and child rape.
Eunice Amnell crafts stories where unlikely heroines—from wallflowers to warriors—find love and acceptance, and blossom from quiet embers to blazing stars in worlds where magic shimmers and destinies clash.
When she’s not wielding words, Eunice lives vicariously through fictional friends and dreams of becoming the neighborhood animal whisperer. To chase shadows with Eunice and her characters, sign up for her newsletter at euniceamnell.com/newsletter.
I received an ARC of this book. I have an occasional weakness for fated mate/rejected fated mates books, so I took the opportunity to review this.
One of the things I dislike about many of these books is that the pacing can really drag, and a lot of times a trilogy will actually only have enough plot for one book. This is definitely not the case for this book, which moves briskly through the events. I actually felt that more time could have been spent outlining how the h was treated by her mate and per group at the outset so the direness of her situation was underscored. A generous helping of angst, betrayal, and terrible mate behavior at the outset always adds to the experience.
The h overall was a strong character and, unlike many rejected mates books, she was actually sexually active rather than just pining. I normally consider that to be a plus, but the h's background makes her promiscuity a symptom rather than a choice.
I hope the author slows down the pace in the next book so it is easier to root for the heroine rather than watch her move forward towards what seeks like an inevitable triumph.

This is a decent novella but would have been an amazing full length novel. Unfortunately there is not enough time spent on any of the aspects of this story and the back story is told to us instead of shown to us so as a reader there is not enough in the book to get invested in the story.
The plot of the book is very interesting … would be great if in the future the author expanded this book into a full length novel
I found this book interesting and enjoyable. It takes the idea of double standards towards sex and works to make the reader realize that they should not exist. Also it takes the idea of fated mates being the only being that can, and will, love you unconditionally and makes that love conditional upon past actions, never asking the how and why of things. The only thing that really disappointed me was the length of the book. It is a shorter book and as a result some of the background information needed to truly understand the book is lost.
I decided to buy this book after reading the sample "Who wants a blind mate?" on Wattpad. The Pack Slut quickly pulled me into Imogen's world. I found myself crying over what she had gone through and anger at how her pack and mate treated her. Knowing this is the 1st in a series has me hungry for the others. I am just sad that I read it too quickly. Definitely a book I will read again. Off to see what other books this author has written.
I loved following this story from Wattpad to book (thanks so much for the ARC!)
The story is pretty well written, and it was a very fast read. I enjoyed getting a chance to re-read it in its new form, and the ending definitely prepares for future books.
Not very much character development. Very short and not really a finished book. Feel like I only have just started reading and getting into the story and then the book is finished. Will not buy the next book in the series
Loved this story line and can't wait for more in this series.
I disliked that Ginny was a bit if a walk over and had been treated so badly but it all made sense at the end. Great foundation build up to the rest of the series!
Definitely read content warnings. I enjoyed this as a short story and look forward to reading the other parts to see how the overarching plot fits together.
No spice, mostly working through trauma. I liked that she decided to accept the rejection so she could be free to move in with her life. I really felt like she made that decision for herself. I especially liked that she didn't cave when Nate wanted to rescind the rejection.

Although a bit slow to begin with it quickly became a lot more interesting…. I enjoyed the book overall and am looking forward to following the path ahead for Imogen… A decent short read, and an intriguing cliffhanger…
There is no cliffhanger. It's like an unfinished novella. It just ends without an ending. Literally. No indication of a follow-up or epilogue. The plot seems great but it was ruined by some parts being rushed and others just too slow and the abrupt ending.
It was good but way too short. Where is the rest of the story. I really enjoyed Blund Mate and it was a full story this just abruptly ended with hardly any story.
Genuinely, I wish the author could pull the novella and re-release it as a longer book. It needs some serious work. I felt like I was reading the first draft of someone’s writing in a writing workshop before they got any feedback or did any copyediting. I don’t think I found anything about it that I liked other than the small glimpses (I’m talking like looking-through-a-crack-in-the-door-in-the-middle-of-the-night-when-you-have-shit-vision type of glimpses) of the world the author was trying to build (emphasis on trying). I will not be reading the next one in the series.
If the author is by any chance reading this, here is some writing advice. I will admit it is quite harsh but, if you want to improve, please heed at least some of it, and good luck.
Places to Improve: 🖤Show, don’t tell x a million. Every aspect of this book, save for the rape scene should have been a show the reader moment, don’t just tell them about it after. Ironically, the one scene they wrote graphically was the scene that shouldn’t have been graphic (the rape scene). We can feel sympathy (or empathy, depending on the person) for Imogen’s situation and understand what is happening to her without having a vivid scene of her being raped. In my opinion, this is too traumatic of an event to include. It had happened for years prior to the start of the novella, the author could have drawn from that and not a new occurrence. 🖤Character descriptions were non-existent. 🖤Character relationships were rushed and really relied on the whole “fate/true mates” trope and, while I usually can get behind this premise, it wasn’t expanded upon. Usually in this trope, the pair is fated and they learn more about each other if they haven’t grown up together. Usually they fight the bond or there are obstacles in the way, Thomas and Ginny just fell together, we learn next to nothing about him and who he actually is and he is supposed to be her savior type taking her away from her place of trauma! In the end, all the relationships are rushed, feel inauthentic, and are downright exploitative. Thomas 100% should not have slept with her, ESPECIALLY while she was drunk and blacked out. She is in a vulnerable position, having been a victim of rape for years and she copes with alcohol and sex. For him to take advantage the situation and sleep with her and she couldn’t even remember it the next morning is atrocious. It’s not endearing. I don’t view him as a savior figure like the author seemed to want. He’s just as bad as her father and the other men that have used her while she was in a similar state. I don’t care if she is starting the night looking to have sex, if she isn’t coherent, it’s a no-go. 🖤Don’t give me chapters from the POV of a character that doesn’t matter in the grand scheme of things. If Nate is just going to give up on her why tf would you give him the same number of chapters as your main love interest? 🖤 World-building: needs a lot of work. The author seems to have a vision of the world with all these intricate character classes and prophecies, but the reader is never privy to these classifications or descriptions unless it is an off-handed, “Oh, did I tell you this.” Tell the readers about the world from the beginning: 🤍Introduce the prophecy sooner. You gave it on like the last page like that would mean anything to us now. 🤍Introduce the Black Ace WAY earlier. Like at least halfway through if he isn’t known beyond the Supernatural Council or in the beginning if he’s a widely-known figure like your ending suggests. We got like 1 line of that and it seemed vital in setting up the tensions/stakes of the book. 🤍Introduce the fact that the wolves aren’t the only supernatural creatures earlier with more substance. Don’t just make it a line, show me a motherfucking vampire or fae! 🖤For the love of god, write an actual ending! It wasn’t even a cliffhanger, you just summarized previous happenings (yet another instance of telling and not showing) and ended the book. It’s giving NOTHING.
I just read another book that I gave a 1 star and, even though I wanted to DNF that one so many times as I read it, I’m more upset about this one, mainly because you (Eunice Amnell) can do so much better and have so much more promise. You have a world in your head that you give glimpses of but never share with the reader and it’s so frustrating because, with some heavy editing and expansion, I feel like this could have been a genuinely good book that I would have really liked. Your book had way more promise and you just let yourself and your readers down with this one. Let yourself do better and give yourself the time and resources to truly shine as a writer.

As much as the title creates a number of thoughts regarding where this novel might go, I must say I was quite stunned by the emotional depth, description and understanding felt by the character Imogen, expressing the fear hatred and trauma every day as she tries to evade her true mate and all his friends as they all believed the tales that had been spread about her. Imogen didn't understand why she is being persecuted, why she was so isolated, she just hoped that time and faith in the bonding of true mates would eventually show that she was not who they believed she was and that her other half would love and believe her. Imogen has a special path she has to walk, knowing her secrets had to be kept in the dar. Shee hoped time would heal everything, and another door would open. Could Imogen ever get over what her pack mates had done to her, why didn't the Alpha see what was going on around the pack, there seems to be fault to be laid at the feet of many, but her true mate was unable to understand and believe. Can Imogen find what she is looking for, will the drama and evil actios of others, leave numerous deep scars or will time and a possible second chance give her the strength needed to become someone special, do not miss this drama and emotionally driven situation to see why the fates allowed Imogen to suffer and yet come out on top. The horrors she saw during her young years would break many people, but this strong, determined woman just kept on standing straight as she tried to sort out exactly what her life entailed. This has a number of triggers within this storyline, so due to the situations described in this novel, please be aware that it could be very traumatic for some readers.
The book was alright. Would have done three stars, but this is NOT a standalone book. The blurb says that it is, and if you click book 2 it features another couple. So.... this SHOULD have been a standalone.
Imogene’s mother died when she was very young. Her father, the beta of their pack, has been abusing her since. Her fated mate, Nate, is the alpha’s son, who helps use her and bully her. She slept with others in hopes of staying away from her home. No one else sees or hears what is going on until another man from another pack comes along. Tom is from the Supernatural Council, now run by Tariq. Tariq prophesied to run the Council and to change it. When another rare Fae Omega makes an appearance, Nate and all those who bullied Ginny will feel deep remorse for she is also more than that to the pack. There is another prophecy about Ginny and three others. Will she find her other fated? Will she be able to help stop the war that is coming?
The book starts out okay, but it falls short in many places several times I went back to make sure I didn't accidentally miss pages as parts seemed to be leading up to giving you information and then nothing it changes directions. Chapter thirteen is a paragraph that could have instead finished Chapter twelve and Chapter fourteen jumps to what feels like the middle of something and you are left wondering what and where you missed pages, but you didn't. I want to know the interaction between Thomas and Ginny as he explains the prophecy and Ginny meeting the others in the super natural council for the first time. There are many ares like that. It isn't a bad read, but it's also not a great read either.
This is a short book and only the first of several installments, which makes it hard to really evaluate the story. Although the title of the series is "The Fae Omegas Standalone", I think that the overarching arc is so strong that the story is missing a limb without the others. The story was engaging, though dark. Be sure that you can tolerate mention of child abuse, sexual violence and bullying before picking up the book. I found that the story still was not complete alone, and that even without counting the parts that are due to the overarching arc, there are some unanswered parts in this short story. You will like this book if you like a simple plot, and a dark ambiance.
What to expect from this book - Self-Discovery, Personal Growth, etc.
What you shouldn’t expect - Steamy scenes (despite the title).
Elements in the book: fated mates, rejected mate, unwanted mate, second chance mate, supernatural world interspersed with the real world, etc
If you like short reads, young adult supernatural books, or werewolf romance books about a girl in a bad life situation who learns to love herself and finds healthy relationship(s), you're going to love this book!
Please leave an honest review on Goodreads or any of the stores, thank you! Ebooks are available in all the stores I could find, lol. [Let me know if there’s a store I missed]
Astounding story which I absolutely loved and I would thoroughly recommend this book hoping that others enjoy it as well. Though it may not be for all due to some of the unpleasant themes that are revealed it's still so relevant. What Imogen or Ginny as she is known by is so believable. Being rejected by her mate, the pack Alpha's son and ridiculed and teased by her pack due to no fault of her own is so true to life. Readers should enjoy reading this book following Ginny's tale and the way events can change people's perceptions.
This story follows Imogene as she tries to live her complicated life after her mother has passed away. She is the fated mate to Nate, the son of the pack alpha. But he, along with the rest of the pack shun her. Then Thomas, member of the Supernatural Council that her mother was on, shows up and suddenly all of her secrets are revealed. Interesting and exciting read.
I liked the plot, but because is a short read things appening very fast, what is good in the scene of rape. But not so good in the scene's of sex. They appening but you have the before and the after only. I also liked the growth of the main character. It's have oppening end.
I must say for the title having the word slut in it there wasn't any!! I think the concept is onto something with a far werewolf adventure However the large Focus placed on the rape aspect is actually quite a terrible aftertaste. I felt so sad for our main character and it didn't really get the true end it needed.
This book is exactly what you expected from the titles but also not.
It moves very fast pace and honestly was a little confusing, but it did have some good plot as well. If it was a little bit longer and time jumps were made more obvious, then I think it could be a fantastic book.
🔥shifter romantic 🔥fated mates 🔥secrets 🔥protective alpha male
This was a good start to a new series. The character work and story line kept my attention. I do wish that there had been a little more editing and refining. I will read the next book in the series.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Storyline has potential, but the characters are underdeveloped, plot lacks substance, feels rushed, and lots of grammatical errors. Definitely not worth paying for.
I enjoyed the book up until the ending. Additional mate out of the blue? Get back together with Nate? I have to be missing something, there must be an additional book that I haven't seen that continues the story.
This book was okay. Some things were mentioned but not explained. The premise is good, so I kind of want to keep reading this series. I want to know what happens, but I don't know if I want to continue to read through the sloppiness.
I definitely had a roller coaster of emotion while reading this I'm so ready to get the whole story. I'm especially glad that Imogen had broken free and that she is protected from her nightmare cause.
I found myself concerned and rooting for Imogen. This is not a steamy book like one would think, but the story would immerse you into a different life at least till the book ends... It's great for a short read.
Although the book was a short read, I did enjoy it, I actually wish there was more content and indepth exploration into the world. Make sure you read the trigger warnings, as there are some intense themes discussed.
