Setting: Royal, Texas – Texas Cattleman’s Club, his Pine Valley house, her small apartment,
Theme: Love first sight – tarnished by her mother’s trampy past… convincing her he loves her, not just because of the baby;
Characters: Aaron Black: diplomat from Spain; home for a bit sees Pamela across the room… makes his way to her, dances with her all evening… they talk… they touch… they go back to his place… they make love… she disappears before he wakes up in the morning… he thought to meet up with her when he in Spain, and she exchange teaching in Austerland - and for the next 6 weeks he can’t forget her… and decides to return to Texas, to track her down; also looking to figure out what happened in the airplane she was in, that crashed and 2 of the jewels of the Club were found;
Pamela Miles: 2nd grade teacher; doesn’t date much; mother was the town tramp – accepting gifts (cars, clothes, etc) from men in exchange for sex – and Pamela teased about this when growing up – so she has been careful to not act in anyway like that; goes to Club ball with her boss, a widow who went to represent the school… and went home with Aaron – and succumbed to their passion, losing her virginity, says yes when he asks if she is on birth control – though she is lost to passion, and lied; wakes up ashamed of what she did so soon after meeting him, and not wanting to see distance in his eyes, she departs – and does not take his calls; and 6 weeks later, sees doctor because she has had a persistent stomach ache – and learns she is pregnant; weathers a moment when the doctor is kinda judgemental, and asks if she wants an abortion, like the 2 her mother had;
Justin Webb / Brad Meadows / etc – assortment of men Aaron meets with as they try to figure out where the Texas Cattleman’s Club diamond is (other two jewels recovered from airplane crash in Austerland), who stole it… and to protect the women that seemed to have been in the wrong place at the wrong time;
Summary: No real progress is made in solving the crime, but various club members are watching/protecting various vulnerable women; including Pamela …. Two men are following her, and someone breaks into her apartment, obviously looking for semething;
And Aaron is single minded in his love and desire for Pamela; he patiently pushes his way into her life… meals, her apartment, his town house… he works to figure out what she isn’t telling him – about her mother… about her independence… about being pregnant… and she is very cautious, knowing he would offer marriage if he knew she was pregnant – being honorable, but she wants a marriage of love – and I it takes a bit for her to figure out his feelings are genuine.
Memorable Scenes: “Feel my heart – you excite me in a way no woman ever has. I want you forever, my partner, my friend, my wife. I know this is right and good. And I know, deep in your heart, it’s what we both want.”

World's Most Eligible Texan is the second installment in the Texas Cattleman's Club series. This book has the well-known gorgeous and sexy diplomat Aaron Black and shy schoolteacher Pamela Miles' story.
From the first time Pamela and Aaron met, the chemistry between them had been volatile. It had erupted into fiery lovemaking. The next morning Pamela had been the one who’d slipped out without a word. And got pregnant.
Aaron can't forget her. The slightest memory of her could make him break into a sweat. He believed that there was something deeper than physical need. At least there had been for him. So he decided to go back to Royal.
“Thanks to a tall, black-haired Texas gal, I’m doing things I’ve never done in my life.”
Pamela was on her way to Asterland when the plane crashed. She had no choice but to stay in Royal. Then she learned that she was pregnant with Aaron's baby. Aaron found out about it and proposed. Pamela turned him down because she was convinced he was doing it out of duty and didn't really love her.
I understand she's reluctant and not convinced because she doesn't know what he sees in her, and honestly, I don't know either. She's okay, I guess. But there's nothing special about her character. And the heroine got on my nerves. Her stubbornness was very annoying to read. If she doesn't want Aaron, fine, I take him. Who wouldn't love a gorgeous and sexy Texan? I hate to admit it, but she's the reason why I gave the book a 2 STARS
Regarding the mystery element, the story continues where it left off. They continue to search for the missing jewel, and they are still investigating the murder of Mr. Riley. I have an idea who might be the theft and killer. Well, I guess I have to read the entire series to find out.
Overall World's Most Eligible Texan is an okay read. If you want a fast-paced book mixed with a little suspense/mystery, then this is for you.
I can't enjoy this book because I dislike Pamela from the beginning. From the moment she decided that Aaron shouldn't know about their baby. Why? Because she thought Aaron as an honourable man and would insisted to marry her, and of course she didn't want to enter a loveless marriage because how can Aaron love her when she was just a poor country girl, right? To hell with his right to know about his child and the child's right to know about the father because God forbid for her to marry without love. What annoyed me more was when they were having sex, Aaron did ask her if she was protected and she answered yes, but turn out that she didn't. What? When Aaron finally found out about the pregnancy and asked her to marry him, she rejected him, keep going on and on how different their lives, how she was just this poor country girl and he was a rich diplomat so they don't belong together blablabla... and she kept at it until almost the end (I kinda skipped most of the book). And Aaron was not a jerk at all. He was kind and sweet. His only fault was he's rich and supposedly this sophisticated man didn't deserved a poor country girl. There was also some investigation about missing jewels, but I don't really get into it because it's a part of the series major plot.
Texas Cattleman's Club. Pamela Miles and Aaron Black share a night of passion resulting in her pregnant. Aaron finds love and is determined to prove his love for her is real. Add to the mix a stolen red diamond.
