Having lost their son in the French Alps, the Jacksons hire a no-nonsense private investigator, Hazely Silverston to unearth his fate. Hazely, forged and hardened through the crucible of horrific life experiences of sexism, abuse, and having to do what it takes to survive, reluctantly takes the job.
The case begins to quickly race away from her as the search unfolds and she discovers an appalling truth.
Hazely had always worked alone. This time, though, the price for working alone is high, very high. She’s in over her head. Her only hope is that her indomitable spirit and mental toughness are enough to conquer the terrifying discovery of The Pact and make it out alive.
If you love reading stories involving epic horror, private investigators, etc then you should get your hands on the book The Pact penned by the author Chad Stewart.

Read this story to find out what must have happened with Jeremy.

I enjoyed every bit of this story. Cover photo is well designed. I read this novel at night and I was a little scared too. The Background setting is amazing. Writing style is nice. Pace of the story is fast and I wasn't bored anytime while reading it. Narration is smooth. The story kept me on the edge while I was reading it. Go ahead with it without any second thoughts.
I really enjoyed following Hazely on her journey to discover the secrets of this small town. Hazely is quite the heroine who is raw but never gives up to find the truth. I am not a horror fan; however this book kept me on the edge of my seat to the very end.
I really enjoyed this book. It does a fantastic job of holding your attention. It's a unique twist on a werewolf story. You can really get caught up in the different characters lives. I really think most people will enjoy this.

Full disclosure, I met the author in person and we used to live in the same town. This review contains some small spoilers.
The first part of the book magnificently conveyed tension and fear. This part of the book was so powerful because we the readers didn’t know very much at this point in the story.
The main character is at least as frightening as the book’s monster. By the end of the story we see her start to really grow -but this is the end of the book. We now need a sequel to see how the main character’s reunion with her sister went, and how everything else went after that.
The last quarter-or-so of the book was more interesting and was very hard to put down.
The actual way in which modern weapons technology is applied against ancient sorcery has an unusual twist to the scenario. This is a plot element that I will be giving much thought about.
The story seems to lag in the middle. Also, we don’t get to see much of what some of the villains of the story are thinking. Celeste and Vincent are underused in this regard, although they are both central to the story. We could have used more twists, more mystery, and more misdirection.
I almost think that the author really, really, wanted to do a book about The French Alpine Hunters, but this story is not a happy one for them.
I will buy a sequel featuring this book’s main character if one is published. The next book could feature Le Legion Etrangere, seeing as how the Alpine Hunters need a break.
Could Celeste return as an antagonist? Can Vincent return in some fashion to pay back the favour that he was so grateful for by this story’s end? What about some firefighters being featured prominently in a new story? Perhaps the author doesn’t find firefighters to be very interesting, but with a little imagination he could make it work. Then there is the matter of a certain book. The author may as well keep writing because some of his villains are just getting started.
This is a solid piece of story telling. If no sequel appears then I will try some of the Dillon Hunt novels -as should you.

It was a very unique read. I think with the many POVs it could be a tad confusing but nonetheless, it was a really great read. I was on the edge of my seat most of the time. The end was wrapped up nicely while leaving some mystery. All in all, it was a great horror book and I will be looking for more from this author.

Ok just to unreal I actually fell sorry for the werewolf the main character. just too unrealistic. Too demanding and headstrong. Sometimes the main characters need to die.
INTERESTING TAKE ON THE WEREWOLF BOOK, PLUS KICKASS BLOND, SECRET TOWNS, FRENCH MILITARY, WHAT MORE COULD YOU ASK FOR. QUIRTY TWIST AT END READ TO THE LAST PAGE.
Read it pretty quickly, but really enjoyed it, if you like werewolf books then read this one, it moves along pretty quickly and it keeps the reader interested.
Horror novels are not my usual genre but this one got my attention early. It is fast paced and intriguing. A young backpacker is lost in the French Alps. His parents hire a private investigator to either locate him or find out what happened to him. This book has an interesting plot and some excellent action scenes. Recommended.
