Všechno se pokazilo, když jsem mu zastřihla keřík.

A ne, není to to, co si myslíte.

Penelope Bloom

USA Today, Wall Street Journal, and Amazon Charts Bestselling author Penelope Bloom is taking her first flight into romantasy—and yes, there are dragons. After years of contemporary romance, she's temporarily trading meet-cutes for magical academies and coffee shops for castles that reek of blood. She promises the banter is just as sharp, but now it comes with deadly consequences.

Fun fact: “Penelope Bloom” started as a tongue-in-cheek tribute to the family dog, Penelope—never meant to be anything serious. But then the books took off, and the name stuck. Behind the scenes, Penelope Bloom is actually a husband-and-wife team. He handles the writing; she edits, helps with brainstorming, and runs the reader-facing side of things (like social media and messages). So if you’ve chatted with “Penelope” online, you’ve likely been talking to her—with the author chiming in whenever needed. Together, they’ve built the voice readers know and love.

Even better than I thought it would be.

The blurb made this book sound pretty funny and it more than lived up to my expectations. Nell Snell, who’s parents had a tragic sense of humor, had failed at many jobs but is an artist at heart so when her roommate gets her a job on his crew as a topiary artist, she is excited and nervous about doing well so she can finance her sister’s college education.

Harry hires the crew for a pre-release party for a few of his clients to get publishers interesting in their book. He tells Nell to Turn the bushes into something humorous for the party. Nell’s end result looks like a giant c*ck and balls

From there the fun begins, the hilarious sexual innuendos, puns, jokes between the characters. Nell and Harry are so funny as they intentionally go back and forth with it. Then a rival of his says something at one point and Nell laughs at the double entendre and he is oblivious.

There are also side characters that are awesome, they are so funny on their own and I looked back and they are in some of the other books in this series which I will now be reading. So great. Bravo!

Book six in the Objects of Attraction series which at time of posting is available on Kindle Unlimited.

It's Nell's first day at topiary, she's attempting to sculpt a penguin out of a bush when she catches the attention of Harry and from there her career takes an interesting turn.

I've enjoyed this series. All the books have a been decent three star reads. They are fun, short and perfect between heavier books.

It mentions a giant penis bush.. so there's that.

Her Bush definitely had it's funny moments - especially when William was involved. Yes, my favorite character is back guys and I was ecstatic. Besides him, we meet Harry and Nell. Harry is Peter's brother and Nell has an unfortunate name - Nell Snell. She is also an upcoming artist and professional bush sculptor. So she's basically doing amazing in life.

Nell ends up creating, you guessed it, a giant penis bush that was supposed to be a penguin building a snowman for a party that Harry was throwing. It ended up becoming the talk of the party and she kind of becomes an insta-artist in a way. She ends up meeting the biggest self-centered douchebag who definitely get a taste of karma at the end of the book. This book also delivers some romantic stuff.. but again I feel like not a lot happened. Definitely got a lot more sexual tension between William and Hailey than anything and it wasn't even their book!

Overall, it was cute and I'm glad I read this series. I have no idea if there's going to be another book but I wouldn't be upset if there was.

Oh. My. God. I laughed all the way through this book! I wish that I had started with book 1, but I needed this one for a challenge, so I dug right in. I think I would have possibly appreciated some of the characters more since at least some were from previous books.

When Nell meets Harry, it's like a moment in Romeo and Juliet where the world stood still, at least for her. Harry hires Nell to trim his bushes, and (I think) due to her extreme sexual fantasies about him, she ends up creating what people in the art world might (did in the book) consider creative, unique artwork. I guess you could say it propelled her "new career."

I have to go back and read the other books because I loved the fun characters. And it's almost like the author does a "sneak attack" when something humorous pops up at some of the least unexpected times. Then other times I was laughing, just knowing that soon a funny situation or line was going to come up and I knew I'd be on the floor!

Loved it!

Re-read
I absolutely still love this series. It cracks me up and keeps me in stitches. It's good for a re-read anytime I feel like light, fluffy, sexual puns and banter. Obviously the title is a sexual innuendo, if you take it that way which I did. Harry hires Nell to trim his bushes, so perhaps that's what it refers to...maybe. Nell is one of my favorite characters in any book I've read because she just cracks me up so much with her creative fantasy artwork as she trims his bushes. She can't help herself and while it's obviously dumber than hell, it's also funnier than hell. I can picture Penelope Bloom as she wrote this cracking herself up. If I ever get the chance to ask her in an interview via GR, I am definitely going to ask!

I found this book the slowest to get through in comparison to the others in this series. I was so happy though to see that William got his own chapter! I absolutely love him!

Nell in this book I find to be a little vague. We know she had an issue with her ex bf and caused some family drama. We also know that she loves her sister dearly and is doing everything for her but I didnt really feel much about Nell as a character. She loves animals but really that isnt much to go on.
Harry was a better written character in my opinion as we were able to get a see into his true self. What makes him happy, what he does to relax or destress. He has developed jealousy faults and admits when he has gone over board. He is protective and loving and will do everything in his power to ensure that those he loves are protected, even if it means he will lose all he has built up for himself.

It was just missing a little spark for me

BYła by dobra do lampki (albo butelki) wina, gdybym piła :).

Penelope Bloom Objects of Attraction bk 06 Her Bush

Beware the Hedges

Nell Snell and Harry Barnidge are ridiculously funny in this over-the-top romcom. The double entendres are omnipresent, as is expected from Penelope Bloom, as well as plenty of crazy antics. It was a fun adventure with these two.

“The dick sculptor? I actually prefer the title of cockitecht.”
-- Nell Snell

As I expected, there are cameos from several prior books, lightly tying them together. Prior reading isn't necessary, but you may appreciate the relationships a bit more if you do. They definitely add more color to the mix. 😆

I read along with the audio book. The narrators, Alexander Cendese and CJ Bloom, keep things light and entertaining as they lend voices to these zany characters.

Objects of Attractions has become one of my favorite series. Penelope brings humor into every one of these books, and yet every one of these love stories is unique to read.

In Her Bush, we get Nell who is an artist that doesn't believe in her art at all. So she is now working for a landscaping company that promises the best of the best, including bush designs. Little does Nell intend to design what she does, and indeed gets the attention of the owner of the home Harry.

Harry is a character we met before in Her Secret. He is not precisely uptight, but he isn't precisely fun loving either. But when he finds Nell designing his bushes, he asks for something specific and doesn't expect what he gets. Nell and Harry do have an instant attraction that is wonderfully funny and great to read. We also get some past characters and of course, my favorite William.

I liked this one just like the previous 5 in the series. I wish that there were going to be more or that we had had another epilogue of further down the road for all of them.

As always Penelope Bloom did an amazing job!!! This series is one of the funniest I have ever read. The "hooh" "haah" comment made me laugh so hard the laptop (I was laying down) flipped up and hit me in the face right between my mouth and nose, which made my eyes water....so literally I laughed 'till I cried. Also with the spiderweb incident I laughed so long and hard I got light headed. I seriously and highly recommend this series and all her books. Penelope is a great author I hate to see this series end but excited for whatever she does next.
* Was I the only one thinking she should have kept the "chopped penis" and sold it as a piece called Circumcision? Just sayin LOL

As much as I love the idea of this series, my interest is fading. The characters were fun, especially William Chamberlain and Grammy, but it was mostly surface level interactions. If you're in for a fun, quick read that has little depth, then this is for you. It's full of snark and whity banter, but that's about it.

This was OK. I liked the Heroine. She was pretty funny. The Hero was ok. William was in this book so that made me super happy. Him and Hailey are my favorite couple of this entire series. If you’re going to read any book from this series, I would pick Her Cherry.

Dude. After well more so when I got more into this book., I was like I really want a story with Nell's best friend, Davey... Because I do want him to find love... But somehow, I was aiming towards her sister. But regardless, I still want a story with him and even one of her sister Ashley. Other than that, I started to like this book because at first.

This book started off-dry, and I got bored with it and had to take a break from actually reading it. & once I went back and read it. It ended up getting good at each chapter. It also had me laughing at some points in the book, especially during their hunting trip. Like I was like, she reminds me of my 14-year-old niece because she definitely would've been LOUD just like Nell.

I think if that were me in the woods with Nell, I would've been mad. But reading it, it ended up funny because she ended up getting poison ivy and everything it was ridiculous but priceless. Not only that, William had me dying laughing at some point in the book where he was mentioned. I mean, in every part of the book he was in was hilarious. I also liked how that guy Damienvthough he could ruin Harry and Nell's life, but in the end, even his father knew it was a waste of time helping his son again. Because he knew that Harry was right regardless of what his son told him. Other than that, the artwork was sold, and she got to send her sister to music school, which what she wanted all along. Plus, it's a good thing that she did it on her own but also with the help of Harry.

Though in the beginning, I wanted to slap her sideways because she thought that Harry was the lier and playboy, but all along, it was Damien. I was like clearly this idiot girl doesn't see what Damien was trying to do. She didn't realize it until Harry had to tell her and explain to her what he wanted to say to her at Maya gala. I was glad that she didn't push him away after that but; ended up getting rid of Damien with the help of William, which was hilarious by the way. & not only that William's wife heating him (Damien) with her purse,🤣 she was like you not going to be putting your hands on my man. 🤣... What I did hate was when Damien tried to feel up Nell, to make his ex jealous, and the ex already knew he was full of it and also by trying to go for a kiss that led to a smackdown from both William and his wife, Hailey... But chopping Nell **** and balls bush sculpture in half didn’t help him (Damien) any. It only saved Nell and got her into selling the art she hides away in her apartment.

I honestly struggled to keep interest in this book (I listened to audio). It was okay, but not as good as others in the series. The humor was over-the-top oftentimes with the middle school puns. You can only take so many of those before you begin to roll your eyes.

I wasn't really feeling Nell. She was okay, but it seemed she had no direction in her life and really just got a lucky break. That's how it happens with most wealthy people; someone just so happens to take interest in what they have to offer (in her case, a phallic shaped topiary). Don't get me wrong, I'm happy for her given all the crap she went through before with people not believing in her. But I still don't see how she can make a lifelong career out of art given she seemed pretty clueless and lucky. But I digress. I also don't feel like we really knew much about her and that made her relationship with Harry seem shallow.

I liked Harry a lot. He was an alpha protective male, but he knew when to step back and not go overboard. He just enlisted help from others to keep an eye on Nell (notably William who was up to his usual antics). I liked that he didn't let his wealth go to his head. He was still someone who enjoyed hunting, fishing, spending time in his garden, and of course being a well-known literary agent. He had all that blue and white collar appeal, which is unusual - you usually get one, not both.

All of the books in this series have been 3 star reads for me. They're funny, quick reads that are good when you need something lighthearted.

I really love these series. The books are funny and entertaining.
All those double meaning innuendos were really funny and I loved their banter.
Nell is always overthinking things, but this is totaly acceptable. She had bad track of relationships and at first didin't trust Henry.
Henry is a billionaire and a very sexy man. He is closed off to any potential relationships, because all of the women were after his wealth. That all changes when he comes across a very clumsy girl who is rumbling nonsense all the time. He got infatuated because she was so different from all of his previous girls.
I read the book in one day because it is unputdownable. I love it when there appeared the charachters from previous books. I really need to reread the series one more time.
I received an earc from the author and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.

When Nell gets a job sculpting the bushes at Harry's home, she never expected what came next. And Harry never expected to see his bushes shaped into giant uh male genitalia. Harry's intrigued by the budding artist, and the rest is history.

Her Bush is fun and funny and sexy. I loved Nell and Harry together, and the way he helped her become the artist she was hiding inside. I can't wait for more of this fun, sexy series.

Harry is much deeper and more complex than we might have guessed from his short appearance in his brother’s book. Nell was so unlike anything he’d encountered before; it made her a challenge and absolutely perfect for him. These two were adorable together. However, I thought Nell was rather prone to jumping to unfounded conclusions, but they gave Harry some very sweet moments to show just how terrific he was. And, as I sit here writing this review, I think it’s particularly funny the way this story pokes at the arbiters of good social taste. And while I like to believe I’ve never been as bad as the art critics shown in this book, I certainly laughed over the possibility that yes, I maybe have been just that awful.

This was a good read. Nell is disappointed because she always wanted to be an artist and she has been reliving the words of a past teacher. She feels like she has failed. After getting a job for Harry she accidentally turns what should have been a penguin into a giant penis. It becomes a big hit. Then her career takes off with the help of Harry. Of course they both fall for each other and in the end they get their HEA.

Hilarious

I loved the first books in this series, but this is hands down my favorite. I laughed so much my kids thought I was crazy. I had to share some of the funniest parts with them. As always, all the characters were relatable, fun and quirky. Really really hoping for more of these books from the author!

Always thrilled when there is a new book to this series. Quick and fun read. I'm a big romantic, but I felt like the love interest in this book was a bit rushed. However, with that said, I still enjoyed the story, loved the main characters. Always love how the characters in the previous books are tied throughout the whole series.

I have loved all of this series so far - that being said this is my least favorite. That is why it got 3 instead of 4 stars.
I think it was because I did not connect to Nell. She takes overthinking to a whole new level and I kinda found it annoying.
It was still funny and entertaining.

I have loved the humor and innuendo in every one of these books. Add in the chance to see a cameo appearance of William and Grandma and I'm all in. I swear this author and her sexual innuendos is like catnip for me. I feel like she is my spirit sister.

I highly recommend this series.

I absolutely love this series! The author does such a good job of slipping humor in when you’re least expecting it and the word play is just hilarious. I do miss Grammy a bit since she is my favorite character overall, but this is still another great addition to the series.
