In the near future, after Klein has been President of the United States for ten years, Rick Patterson realizes two 1) He has been lied to for decades 2) Humanity might not survive the inevitable worldwide catastrophe that’s coming faster than he thinks. Between racism, climate change, poverty, and war, there is little hope left.

Rick reaches out to his family and tries to convince them to move back to Lickstone, a house that he and Sherry—his wife—have recently built. They intend to turn it into a fortress. To shelter and protect everyone, they need to expand Lickstone, build defensive systems, and develop ways to ensure an adequate food supply, all under the government’s watchful eye. But the more they try to survive, the more they get on the unforgivable government’s radar.

As time passes, the world worsens, and the Patterson family struggles to provide safety and survival amid the downfall of humankind. But is this ruin—this apocalypse—solely because of human greed and the insatiable quest for power? Or is it instigated by ancient mysteries and preternatural powers long forgotten? Where previous fantasies are now judged to be genuine? Follow their epic journey as they confront global devastation, technology’s demise, the powers of ageless mysticisms, and a new awareness of our biosphere.
