Hunter’s Kill

Rate this book
Helena, the seductress. Helena, the spy. Helena, the murderer.
I have been demonized from here to Russia.

Well, to be honest, most of it is true. But I tried to put it all behind me.

I moved to a town in the middle of nowhere, I changed my name and even my hair. I became Sofia, the music teacher.

None of it worked.

Daniel found me on my first day in this new life. A brutal angel sent to kill me.

The moment we locked eyes, I knew he would be my undoing. My survival instincts fail me under his vengeful gaze.

So, I let him get close enough to twist his hands around my throat. All I can do now is beg for release.

Because in the end, he’s my hunter, and I’m his kill.

He’s the answer to my dangerous cravings, the chaos I succumb to…

*If you are a good girl dreaming of a knight in shining armor, then step away from this novel! If you fantasize about hot, wildly sexy alpha males, then this one's for you! My heroes are dangerous, dark, and demanding—an HEA guaranteed with no cheating but lots of pain and pleasure. You have been warned! Proceed at your own risk…

Faye Pierce

As a teenager, Faye used to read at night with a flashlight underneath her bed covers. She fantasized of bad boys who stopped at nothing to capture the hearts and bodies of their women, and of equally strong heroines. Make no mistake, there are no damsels in distress in her world.

Her addiction is the “enemies to lovers” trope, and maybe that’s why when she first met her husband, their chemistry was just as sizzling as their disapproval of each other. But as in her novels, passion won, and now they live through their happily ever after.

By day, she is taking care of her household. By night, her shadow self emerges to satisfy her undisclosed desires. Literary and not.

good

When I read about Nikolai I also wondered if there was something about Helena. And I finally read this. The beginning was very interesting and made me want to know what happened to her. The more I read, the more I understood Helena. And luckily Helena meets Daniel. He is gentle, although his goal is revenge, but after getting to know and being with Helena. His thoughts began to change. and can feel the love that both of them have for each other especially Helena And even sacrificed her life to end it all... I look forward to reading Alek and Henry's story in the future.

This is the second book in Faye Pearce's Brutal Hunter series and I am now looking forward to book three.
How could he find me here in the middle of nowhere ? I changed my name, I was no longer Helena Russov, spoilt mafia princess, I was Sofia Petrov, a lowly cello teacher at Creekview Middle School, my brown hair is now a blond bob and my designer clothes are now from supermarket shelves but Nikolai Volkovich, powerful Russian mafia boss, had the means to find her, he wanted her dead.
Much to her surprise, Helena was enjoying being Sofia, she loved sharing her love of music with her students. When the uncle of one of her favourite students asks her for a date she is flattered but what would a devilishly handsome, obviously wealthy man want with a lowly music teacher, Sofia should have followed her gut instinct but the powerful chemistry was too strong to resist.
Daniel Columbo was tasked by Nikolai to kill Sofia, his reward would be an alliance with the Volkovich thus restoring his family's power, little did he know that she would be a beautiful temptress.
The story follows the abduction and captivity of Sofia, her fear and the magnetic attraction that still pulls her toward her abductor, the deep love that develops, but will it be enough to keep Sofia safe ?
This story has a HEA but there are still some loose ends that I assume will be tied in the next book.
I received a free copy of this book and my review is voluntary.

This is the second book in this series and could definitely be read as a standalone, but I recommend reading the first book Hunter's Prey. I received this as an ARC in exchange for my honest review. Both are amazing books and will have you totally enraptured in the stories of all the characters. This is a dark book so if you have any triggers please read with caution. Faye Pierce is one of my favorite authors I discovered this year. She has created these worlds that are a wild ride with all the twists, turns,
and crazy angst. WIth total OTT possessive H's and the h's that won't leave you disappointed. They may seem weak and powerless but truly they are anything but that.

Helena/Sophia is running from her past. She is leading two lives Helena the strong, and sensual woman that gets what she wants, and Sophia the demure music teacher. Daniel is possessive, obsessive, and out for revenge. He's on a mission to redeem his family name. I am not one to give the plot or what happens in books, but just know you're going to be thinking a lot of "holy cow what just happened?" to " what are you thinking?" for both characters. This book is a spicy read IMO and loved it from the first chapter to the end. Can't wait to see what we are brought next.

Good story. This is an earlier book I read, that I didn't rate.

It was a different form of a revenge trope, more like a pay to kill. Helena who was Griffith's hired spy and mole survives the fall that we assume in Hunter's Prey resulted in her death.

She changes her life after almost dying and being used by a Griffith to kill Nikolai's father. This book explains more of her character and the circumstances that surrounded her reasons for getting involved in the death of Nikolai's father and the ill-fated relationship with Nikolai.

Enters Daniel who has been tasked to track down and find Helena for Nikolai who is still obsessed with what she did to his father. Daniel is a different kind of assassin in that he embeds himself in her new life instead of just killing her. Their relationship gets heated and segways into a sexual tryst that becomes much more. Daniel like Nikolai is into dark sex and BDSM which is at the forefront of this story. If that is not your cup of tea, then you have been warned. IMO, a little BDSM goes a long way, but managed to enjoy the rest of the story.

Hunters Kill is the second book in the Brutal Hunters series, and WOW what a book it is, at the start I didn't know where this book was going but it was page turning, you wanted to know what was happening next.

Helena had survived the fall and she moved to a small town in the middle of no where and started her life again as Sofia a sweet naïve music teacher, there was no way that Nikolai could find me here!

on the first day at the new school she was attracted to the new parent Daniel, and eventually agreed to go on a date with him, she should have had her guard up more, she should have knew that he wasn't the nice guy she had imagined, he was there to kill her, but he couldn't.

Daniel didn't know what to believe, was she telling him the truth or was Nikolai but what he did know was he was attracted to her and had to find out.

I loved this book it had so many twists and turns and kept you on the edge of your seat, and OMG the extended epilogue.....5 stars just isn't enough.

Faye did it again and I’m living for it! I’m fairly new to the world of dark mafia books and Faye Pierce has been a huge part of why I love them!

Book 1, Hunter’s Prey was enough to get me invested in these characters and I kept Helena in the back of my mind wondering why she would have gone through with what she did before her “unfortunate fall.” I love that we got more of her story and an insight into why she did it and everything leading up to it.

Daniel and Helena have such a great story and the little “burn the world and go to war for her” attitude he develops makes my heart so happy 🥰

She lost everything from her identity to the last person she considered family (at least family that cared for her) and still kept the defiant fire that makes her a survivor.

I feel like I’m forgetting how to write a review because all I want to say is “I LOVE THIS AUTHOR AND I LOVE THESE CHARACTERS. GO READ EVERYTHING!”

Secrets, lies and love that bloomed from a man love of music.

Daniel was trying to ensure that his family was back on top from where his father had made some bad decisions. Helena had changed her identity because she was being hunted by her ex-fiancé who was trying to kill her for the murder of his father. When she fell from the balcony, she lived even though she had major injuries. She became a music teacher in a small town outside of New York. When Daniel enrolled Henry (his nephew) in school, he heard Helena playing the cello. He knew who she was and his job was to kill her for Nikolai. I enjoyed reading the book but I didn’t like the ended because there was no happily ever after but it left a longing for a third book. The story can’t end there, Daniel couldn’t kill Helena but he fell in love with her.

This is Book 2 in the Brutal Hunters Series by this author. It is the next installment to the dark, steamy romance between assassin Daniel and his prey, Helena/Sofia. There is no denying the sizzling chemistry and strong connection between these two fierce and intriguing souls. Their love story continues with more drama and angst, action and adventure, danger and suspense, sexual tension and chemistry, and appealing secondary characters to keep the reader interested. Another engaging page turner. Should read Book 1, Hunter's Prey, before diving into this one.

I received an Advance Reader Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.

Hunters kill

I honestly think this is Faye's best work to date!!!
I loved this book and loved the dynamics between Helena and Daniel even when they were at each others throats.
What a tough life Helena has had but regardless she is super strong and has a hell of alot of fight left in her till it a gets way too much. This is Daniel's moment of clarity and puts both their lives on a very different path.

That last part of the epilogue has me super excited can't wait to see what happens next. Alek's book next please.

Definitely give this book and author a read very much worth while.

Now since this was in a three book box set, I did not read the book that comes before this. It IS book two in a series- and I may have felt more connected to the female lead character had I read the previous story. However, I enjoyed this story. I liked how the prologue showed one POV and the story circle back in another POV for the same scene. It was very fun to have that happen. The story was faster paced than the other two, and definitely felt like a smoother story altogether. I hope they truly get their HEA of there’s another book written.

Hunter’s Kill

This book is about Daniel and Helena. I didn’t like prologue, I think this novel did not need it. I like nephew of Daniel, Henry. Helene used to be center of attention everywhere she went. But she was starting new life as music teacher in small town middle school. Daniel was searching for her, and moved to the same town like her with Henry. It was good read, thank you Faye Pierce

I loved the development and chemistry between the main characters. The only problem for me, was that it left me with more questions than answers. This is the second book in the series, and I was a little confused as to when this story was supposed to have taken place compared to the first book. Also, there were a lot of unresolved issues that I'm hoping will be resolved in future books.

You won't want to stop reading. I know I didn't. I had to finish in one sitting. Secrets build in this story then they are revealed. Are you ready for an emotional read? I love the foreshadowing. That's what truly sucks me into a story.

Follows our main FMC living a different life to start over and run from her past. Try to get a new start. But when her past finds her so soon…

As always Faye has done well with the mafia world and love story.

Ok book. I just couldn't get into it. Overall it is a good read. You need to read for yourself. Daniel is after her for her ex. The two meet and there is some twist to this story. Just not for me

This is the second book in the series. Reading all the suspenseful twists and turns that Helena/Sofia and Daniel take is enough to capture the mind. Can't wait to see what's next from the mind of Faye Pierce.

Terrible

The entire book felt like it was scrapping for a story to come together and failed. It was also left unfinished with so many questions. I did not enjoy this at all.

2.5 stars. Very boring read.

Spoiler - The last paragraph saying Helena was Henry's new mom when his mom just died within a year or so was so icky. No thanks.
