A widowed single Mum, an up-and-coming Hollywood Actor who plays a vampire in a supernatural TV show, 5500 miles between them....
It won't work. Will it?
Kirsty Green is a young, widowed, single mum to Abi. After losing her husband in a tragic accident, Kirsty has suffered years of grief, while bringing her young daughter up alone.
One unsuspecting day she bumps into a stranger who completely turns her world upside down.
As she comes to terms with heartache, battling her guilt, grief, and an ex-boyfriend who won't take no for an answer, will she get another chance of happiness, or will this stranger turn out to be a lot more than she bargained for because Dillon James isn't your average guy...
I was in love with this book by the end of chapter 1. It was a bit steamy and a whole lot of swoony romance. Just the way I like it.
Kirsty a young widow with a 12 year old daughter has an incredible meet cute with a Hollywood star in the back of a cab. Dillon is kind, loving and sexy as hell, only one problem, he lives in LA and she lives in the UK.
I loved how the author balanced the romance with Kirsty's grief. She lost her husband 6 years ago and is still grieving. The loss was handled in a very real and very respectful way.
This was an emotional book, and I teared up multiple times, sometimes in sadness, sometimes with joy. A book that can evoke tears gets all the stars.
“You’re so easy to love, but so fucking hard to be apart from.”
I really enjoy this book. It’s been some time since I read a romance like this. A normal life couple who face issues and over come them without of the nonsense. Don’t get me wrong there is some drama but it wasn’t over the top it was just right. You guys know I love the drama. To hook a star is a very heart warming read even funny at times. I had a smile on my face throughout which is a good sign when I’m reading. I even had tears in my eyes around the ending. Lovely story. This couple and the side characters brought it all together very well. I really hope this author adds to this world. I would love to read the best friend Pips book, I would definitely read her story, there was something about her and her relationship with men I need more of.
A little about the book -
Kirsty is a single mother. She lost her husband in a accident 6 years ago. Kirsty has tried to more on but the right man hasn’t come along until Hollywood star Dillon jumps into her taxi. He lives in California and she lives in the U.K. Their story is a bumpy one with ex partners, then them living in different countries and Kirsty’s child to think about. Their story will give you all the feels and a lot more.
“Love makes people do crazy things, push boundaries, seek out the truth.” 🤍 this quote.
The only feedback would be that the writing style didn’t flow at all times for me. Conversation to inner monologue wasn’t seamless. Also would of loved to have Dillion pov. I would of liked to know what was going through his head. Still very much enjoyed this read.
First time reading Parsi Harvey’s books and it won’t be the last. I loved everything about this book it has everything you need for a romance book, just have a tissue at hand as your heart will be tug at a few times. Definitely a book to read 5 ⭐️
I've read the "movie star meets a regular girl " many times and Patsi does a wonderful job with this story. It is set between England and Los Angeles. It has lots of English vernacular so be cool with it. It's charming and even though they are intimate it's not graphic or over the top. Perfect.
To Hook a Star is one of the best romance reads that I have read in a long time. I dare even say that it’ better than some of the more recent Colleen Hoover books that I have read. This book is perfect for fans of Hoover. This book will give you ALL the feels – love, happiness, sadness, and Harvey does a fantastic job of making you feel each and every emotion that Kirsty is feeling, as if you’re Kirsty yourself. My heart fluttered as I read the book, and I’m sure yours will too! I was so engrossed in the book that my son almost missed his bus because I lost track of the time. I didn’t want to stop reading, or put it down, but I also didn’t want it to end. I absolutely fell in love with Kirsty and Dillon. Harvey did a great job of being so careful about the relationship between Abi and Dillon, knowing that a young child’s feelings are delicate when it comes to new men in her mom’s life. The relationship also didn’t feel rushed at all. Dillon James is my new book boyfriend (along with Atlas Corrigan)! I also really loved all the rest of the characters, especially Pip! What a great friend to have! I really hope that Harvey keeps this story going, I’d love to see another book with these ALL these characters. Please, do yourself a favor and run, don’t walk, to grab this book. You will NOT be disappointed!
“…it was a dark time for me, but the stars up there, they lit up and they led me to you.”
Personal Review: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Such a feel good, love after loss novel, relatable characters and a fun transatlantic romance plot. Kirsty Green gets swept up in a fairytale, whirlwind romance, that takes her from London to LA. Dillon was the knight in shining armor famous actor that proved his love over and over again. This novel was saccharine sweet and so perfect to get me out of my reading slump. I fell in love with Kirsty and Dillon’s love story, daughter Abi and dog Merlot. Patsi Harvey was so good at igniting my wanderlust of both the UK and Southern California with her descriptions.

Sweetness wrapped in a love bow. Oh my goodness, if you are looking for an ultimate feel good love story then look no further.

I wish I had this book to read during the summer as I think the only thing that could have made this better is to read it on a sun-lounger with a cocktail in my hand.
It’s very easy to read and my only negative is that our leading man uses the word babe . Ergh I hate that word so much !! Otherwise this book is simply gorgeous.
I had completely fallen into a reading slump but this book of love and fate has completely recharged me.
Thank you to Patsi Harvey for gifting me the opportunity to read this book and I can wait to read more from her!
I was lucky to be gifted a copy of this book and I sat and devoured it in one day. I can’t remember the last time I’ve done that with a book.
I absolutely loved it and couldn’t put it down. I got so emotionally attached to the characters and I loved how the story progressed.
I would have liked to have read things from Dillons point of view and how he lived his life in LA before he met Kirsty and then when they were together but apart from each other as the book was based on Kirsty’s outlook.
Overall I thought it was fabulous. It had me cheesy grinning from ear to ear at parts and then trying to hold back tears at other times.
I would definitely recommend this book to a friend and will definitely be purchasing Patsi’s next book!
I’m a romantic at heart and ‘To Hook a Star’ didn’t disappoint! A gorgeous debut by the lovely Patsi Harvey.
I warmed to Kirsty immediately and felt an instant pull to her character. Single mum to Abi, Kirsty lost her husband in a tragic accident 6 years ago and is still trying to piece together her broken life. After a brief meet with an extremely gorgeous man in the back of a taxi one afternoon, Kirsty’s life isn’t going to be the same again.
The story line was charming, engaging and fast paced I honestly could have finished it in one sitting if I didn’t have to adult! Kirsty and Dillon’s meet cute had me hooked from the very beginning. I just love to read about romance, a modern day fairytale but like real life it wasn’t all hearts and flowers, the story features grief and heartbreak.
We follow Kirsty on her road to recovery, loosing her husband still feels like yesterday the sadness is still so real, experiencing the stages of loss, her journey of being Kirsty again and dealing with guilt when she feels ready to move on. Patsi writes Kirsty’s scenes with such care you can feel Kirsty’s anguish and the conflicting feelings she’s battling.
Dillon.. which taxi do I need to jump into!! What a gent, what a romantic! He ticks all the boxes, I was waiting for him to mess up but he was just bloody amazing. Loved his relationship with Kirsty’s daughter Abi.
With relatable and likeable characters, an easy flowing story with some twists and turns, this was a delight to read.
The perfect mix of romance, laughter, loss and friendship, I could not put it down! The surprises throughout just made me want keep on reading, along with all the happy moments that put a genuine smile on my face. 5*****!
I liked this! It was so cute! The happily ever after could not have been more perfect. Yes, it was cheesy and everything worked out almost too perfectly, but that’s what I loved about it! It was such a feel good romance story.
If you like short, clipped sentences and the immediacy of first person present tense, you could enjoy this book. Kirsten’s thoughts and actions are laid out like a sportscaster giving commentary on their own life as it’s happening. The dialogue is written well, but the narration feels clunky and repetitive. “I fall asleep. I get in the shower. I get my phone out of my bag. I carry my sleeping 12 year old daughter to bed.” The romance is written the same way. I liked the premise of this story, but it was hard for me to really get into it because of the writing style.
My Grade: DNF due to complete annoyance and boredom
I am so confused by the great reviews. Reading this book was like reading an instruction manual. It was robotic, boring, and the MC/LI had zero chemistry.
I think that maybe if the story had been written in 3rd person rather than 1st...maybe it would have flowed better. The actual idea of the plot wasn't bad, it was just really executed horribly.
I was asked to read this book by the author, in exchange for an honest review. I'm glad I agreed because this book was fun! To Hook a Star is a light hearted romance with minimal drama and a whole lot of gushy cuteness.
Kirsty Green is a single mother and widow. After her husband passed in an unfortunate accident, she lived her life solely for her six year old daughter. Six years later, she stumbles upon a strange American man who needs a favor from a stranger and found that afterwards, she couldn't get the man out of her head. Luckily for her, the man couldn't get her out of his head either, and they make every attempt to reconnect.
While reading this book, you will feel all of the ups and downs of Kirsty's life. It can get emotional, and you really understand why she's making the choices she makes. I felt connected with her as a reader. I wish that the book had a little more drama, though, but I understand that sometimes you just need some cute fluff with minimal stress. I thought the main characters were fun, but wished the side characters had been fleshed out a bit more. Dillon was amazing as a character and I fell in love with him too, right alongside Kirsty.
I think my biggest complaint about this book was the beginning. It started by Kirsty telling you all about her life, as if to catch you up on where her story starts, and I felt bored. I didn't think I was going to like this book because of that chapter, but I kept going, and the first real chapter was amazing! I loved the whole cab scene. It was fun. I think the solution to this, because I'm afraid some people may not make it past that first intro, is to add the intro into dialogue in the cab scene. They are already two strangers discussing life, why not make it a little more personal?
Besides my complaint about the beginning, this book was a fun and cute read. It's right on par with other romances I've read. I would love to see a sequel from this author. I know so many people do sequels with side characters, but since I wasn't too crazy about the side characters, I'd love to see a continuation of life with Dillon and Kirsty.
Title: To Hook A Star Author: Patsi Harvey Hero/Heroine: Dillon & Kirsty Tropes: Single Parent, Widow, Celebrity,
TW/CW: Death of a loved one, grief,
THE GOOD 😀
This is the second book in a row that I’ve read where the hero is a celebrity and I have to say it may be my new favourite trope. In everyday life I don’t really buy into the whole celebrity thing, but put it in a book and I’m all over it.
After a nightmare meeting in London, wedding planner Kirsty is desperate to get back home to her daughter. When someone unexpectedly jumps into her taxi, safe to say she’s a bit taken aback. It turns out that it’s none other than famous actor Dillon James, however Kirsty has no idea who he is, which makes this meet cute all the more wonderful. Over the long journey back to Kirsty’s, they confide in one another about their lives and find themselves inexplicably drawn to one another.
Dillon and Kirsty were such relatable characters; down to earth and just trying to survive what life has thrown at them. They were both flawed, however I think that’s what made them great characters for me. Kirsty, having lost the love of her life, was just trying to do the best for her and her teenage daughter. Dillon, immensely private and guarded, wanted to keep his personal life out of the press. I felt the chemistry immediately between them, and I loved their text conversations and phone calls, I felt that it really helped build a strong foundation for their relationship.
This was such an engaging and heartwarming story about loss, grief and learning to love again. Filled with humour, heat and some wonderful relationships (Dillon and Abi’s relationship was so adorable), To Hook A Star was one of those stories you couldn’t help but love.
THE BAD ☹️
Nothing.
Thank you to the author for providing me with a copy of this to read. This is my honest review.
OVERALL THOUGHTS: A celebrity romance that packed an emotional punch STEAM LEVEL: 🔥🔥🔥 STAR RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This time last week I was messaged by @patsi_harvey ! She asked if I’d kindly review her first ever book in which she’s been working on for years & it arrived on Sunday!
I messaged Patsi last night after finishing it within the day!
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! & I could happily read it again, which I think is an absolute rarity with books!
I instantly fell in love with the characters, I felt comfort in relating to Kirsty and as I said to Patsi, usually I don’t like American characters as such as they always seem to be presented as over the top & slightly far fetched - but Patsi absolutely NAILED it with just the right amount of balance with each character!
Patsi should be so so proud of her first book! I cried towards the end at the last couple of chapters, as it was just such a homely, cosy vibe & the setting just made me want to want to be there myself!
The book flowed so well & I genuinely couldn’t put it down! I wanted to know more of what was happening and after having read so many thriller books lately, I kept imagining that Dillon would turn out bad .. but I had to remind myself it was a romance book and I’m really glad of how it ended! It made me feel content and happy!
The middle of the book kept me in suspense too as I wasn’t sure how Kirsty and Dillon were going to keep going & realistic thought processes were added into it which was great & all I can say is you can clearly see how much love, time and effort has been poured into this book & I hope that she writes more books in the future as I loved this & would definitely recommend 100%!
𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐓𝐢𝐭𝐥𝐞: Hook A Star 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐫: Patsi Harvey 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐫𝐞: Romance
𝐌𝐲 𝐑𝐞𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐰: Let's be honest here. A celebrity Romance that's about an English woman being swept off her feet by an American heart throb was always going to appeal to me and this absolutely did.
This is just the sweetest romance! It's a first from the author for me and knowing it's a debut novel made it all the sweeter. The author did a beautiful job with some truly sensitive subjects. The love after loss trope is one of my favourites and this author perfectly captured the heartbreak, reluctance to move forward and fear Kirsty must have felt. I also really enjoyed the relationship between Kirsty and Abi. Their mother and daughter bond was so strong. I'm always a bit hit and miss with kids in romances but the author created a sweet character I really like getting to know.
Now let's talk about Dillon for a second. Oh the swoon. He was patient and kind and all kinds of sexy. Definitely book boyfriend material. These two were an absolute pleasure to read and I loved that they got their hea.
This was a really easy love story to read, with little drama and a perfect happily ever after. You won't regret picking this up if you like to make your heart happy.
To Hook a Star By @Patsi_Harvey_Author Pub Date 9/1/2022 Rating ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5 Spice 🌶🌶/5 KU Yes
Single mom and widow Kirsty Green is in a cab headed home when a strange man jumps in and asks to ride along. Turns out he’s famous American actor Dillon James trying to get away from some overzealous fans. Kristy has never heard of him before, but they spend the next ninety minutes talking and getting to know one another. By the time Dillon is heading back to London in that cab, he and Kirsty both have felt a spark. Weeks later, they connect on social media and begin texting and talking. When Kirsty and her daughter Abi go to America on vacation, it’s almost like they’re a proper family. Things are great until a jealous friend wants Kirsty for himself, until her family and friends question her sanity for getting involved with Dillon, and until Dillon’s ex pokes her nose into things. On the list of pros and cons, are there too many cons for things to work?
This book is such a sweet romance. I love the characters, the world building, and the various relationships. The author takes great care in developing the relationship between Abi and Dillon knowing that this is the first important relationship her mom has had since her first husband passed away. She throws in the problems one would encounter when dating a celebrity such as dealing with paparazzi. Kristy’s best friend Pip is a great source of support and humor.
To Hook a Star is Harvey’s debut novel. If you like a sweet romance with some deep emotions and a little sizzle, then this standalone is for you! Let me know what you think - I’d love to discuss!
This was a nice read, but it was missing so much detail! As a debut novel, praise is due for writing a book that I finished! There are authors that have written countless books who can’t manage that.
There’s so much happens in this book but most things never take more than a few lines. There was no real description of any of the characters physically, you don’t even find out how old Dillon is until the last page. If I’m honest I didn’t really get what the chemistry was between the two main characters, they have a lot of sex and there’s a couple of moments where it’s like “oh they do love each other” mostly when it comes to travelling… but there is absolutely no way I believe this would last.
The storyline about Kirsty still talking to her dead husband and updating him was very sweet, I liked that she was never expected to stop talking about him although I did feel that there should have been a more emotional goodbye when she left. I’m not often one for reading books about people with kids as I find it hard to relate but it worked in this book as it wasn’t too child-centric or “us against the world”.
Any “drama” disintegrated within a few lines and there was a lot of tell not show. I saw the “surprise” coming a mile off and then it ended without even showing how that changed things which was disappointing. All in all, a decent beach read or whatever but there’s also room for improvement.
Widow and single mom Kirsty Green never thought that one taxi ride could impact her entire life. But that’s just what happens when actor Dillon James hops into her taxi to escape a group of fans. What happens next could upend Kirsty’s life in the best way. But a previous ex, guilt, and fear threaten to keep her from her second chance at happiness.
Friends!!! I loved this book so much🥹. I had never heard of it prior to researching for my December #treysbookroundup picks; but when I read the synopsis, I had a feeling it would be a great love story, and it was. I’m a huge fan of second chance romance books and this one delivered.
Kirsty is such a loveable character, and I wanted her second chance at love to happen so badly. The trials that she had been through to that point were heartbreaking, and I was rooting for her from the first chapter. To be honest, I always get a little nervous when reading books with characters who are famous. Sometimes they can seem just a bit too unrealistic, but this one was done so well. Dillon James was so charming but also down-to-earth and an all-around great guy. I also really appreciated that the conflict didn’t seem farfetched.
This is definitely a must read romance! If you enjoy spicy, second chance love stories, this one is for you. Also, if you’ve read and enjoyed The Idea of You, you definitely should check this one out!
This was a wonderful book and highly recommended! Characters of Kirsty Green, her daughter Abi, and Hollywood star Dillon James were great although you just wanted to shake some sense into Kirsty at times.
Kirsty's husband drowned in a horrific accident six years ago and she has depended too much on his best friend Danny who wants to be more than a friend. Kirsty and Dillon meet when he jumps into her cab trying to get away from fans. She has no idea who he is and enjoys talking to him as he shares her cab. Abi knows who he is as she is a big fan of his. He leaves in the cab and everyone tells her she will never hear from him again. But Fate has other plans for them.
They got in touch with one another that led to phone calls and texts and his return to England. Then she and Abi traveled to California for a visit. This went on until a misunderstanding and Kirsty returned to England instead of going with him to a premiere. His old co-star wants him and makes no bones about it but he shuts the door in her face. He's in love with Kirsty and she's the only woman he wants.
She decides to return to Dillon for good when she learns she is pregnant. He comes to escort her and Abi to their new home and is overjoyed to learn he will be a father. He is a rare individual in Hollywood--a down-to-earth good person. They had their disagreements but learned to give and take.
🔵 REVIEW: I love reading stories with romance in it. Recently I got my hands on Patsi Harvey's "To Hook A Star". It is a captivating story that hooked my attention from the first page itself.
The story features 33 years old Kirsty Green who lost her husband six years ago in a tragic accident. Kirsty's daughter Abi is her world now. Kirsty was financially secured when she lost her husband but she breaks into tears sometimes as Gary was a good husband and father. Kirsty's friends had tried to set her up with a few guys but it didn't work.
Then one fortunate day, she met Dillon James, an actor from a supernatural series on Netflix called Dead Living. Kirsty could feel the spark with Dillon. She didn't want to bid him goodbye when the cab ride they shared ended. Kirsty lives in a small village near London but Dillon lives in Los Angeles. Will fate or love make them meet each other again?
The pace of the story is fast and I wasn't bored anytime while reading it. It's a gripping novel. The author's narration is so smooth that it sets the flow of the story and I couldn't put it down until the last page. This is a beautifully written book and I had a great time reading it.
To Hook A Star is a story that one should read for sure. Living a life as a single mother is not that easy. Kirsty Green took good care of her daughter Abi after the loss of her husband Gary. But without a love partner, life was incomplete to Kirsty. She knew that her husband would have wanted her to be happy so she tried going out on a date but that wasn't a success.
Abi is twelve years old. Once she wasn't feeling well so Kirsty left for home early. She came across an American stranger who joined her on the ride home. This stranger is not an ordinary man. He is a Hollywood actor but Kirsty wasn't aware of that. Dillon is so handsome and was nice to Kirsty. She developed a liking for him.
After a few days when Dillon was in LA, Kirsty saw a soda can on the steps of her home. Is this some sign for her? Who put the can on her step?
Harvey has won my heart with her writing style. The storyline is something I really loved. This is a book that made my weekend happy. If you are looking for something for a light reading then go ahead with this one. I am sure you would be delighted to read this story. I loved the way the story ended.
… I wanted to like this book. The main character is likeable but honestly it’s just such lazy writing. It’s so rushed.
This book is basically a play by play of the character’s day by day life but while we know her thoughts and feelings she doesn’t bother letting anyone else share how they feel. We know Kristy and Dillon chat but about what? Show us their conversations. Show us his inner self.
She lazily waves away that her daughter doesn’t talk but no 12 year old I have ever met is that quiet about their thoughts and feelings especially as pertains to a move across the globe.
The tensions that do exist come out of nowhere (ie suddenly Dillon wants to know when they won’t be long distance but they have given no evidence he has ever brought this up before and they have been dating all of five minutes).
This guy basically love bombs her and she goes w it. There was no work to this love story. It’s not that a star falling in love w a normal person is unrealistic it’s that the characters motivations and actions are so non existent as to be eye roll worthy.
This was such a lovely story about Kirsty a single mother who has a 12 year old daughter. She is a widow as her husband Gary passed away in an accident 6 years ago. She meets a Hollywood star named Dillon, who just so happened to jump into her taxi. What are the chances! He lives in LA and she lives in the UK.
This book shows the struggles of grieving and finding new love after such a tragedy. I love how close the family are and she has such a strong friendship with Pip.
I would of liked to have read what was going on in Dillon's head too. And I have 1 very small thing that I didn't like.. I wasn't going to bother mentioning it because it's just personal preference but wouldn't be a honest review if I didn't mention it 😅 Dillon calls Kirsty Baby ALOT. (When I guy calls a girl baby, it makes me cringe )
If you love a good romance I definitely recommend you read this one. This is Patsi Harvey's debut novel and she announced this week that book 2 (Pip's story) will be out in the summer! Can't wait to read it 😍
I have loved this book, couldn't put it down! I have lost sleep over this book, all because I couldnt put it down! I wasn't to sure about this book at first, it didn't seem like the type of book I'd enjoy, but I'm so glad I read it, . Kirsty, a mother to abi age 12, lost her husband 6 years ago in a tragic accident and been on her own since, then one day get a taxi back to her home and a famous LA actor jumps in, whilst trying to get away from fans and such, from there a beautiful relationship starts. . Dillon, the man we all fell for during this book, the way he treats Kirsty and abi is the way every woman should be treated. . This book made me feel so emotional in some parts and it just made me want to read more, the book is faced pace but I think it's great, I love the developments between the characters and how relationships between them all change over a few months. The way this book ends make's me hope that there will be another book, if another comes out I will be definitely be needing it! . I honestly recommend this book to everyone, it's a great read!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
Thank you so much Patsi for my gifted copy of your debut novel
This story is a cute, and rather spicy, fun read. It’s fast paced and full of touching moments
Kirsty is still finding her way after losing her husband tragically six years ago. She has a teenage daughter Abi and a busy job in the wedding industry
By fate, she offers to share a cab with a man named Dillon who seemed to have found himself in a pickle. One can ride is all it takes for both of their lives to change
But Dillon is a TV star living in LA and Kirsty lives in the UK. Are they able to make compromises to make this work? What other barriers will they encounter if they try a long distance fling? What about the grief she still battles over her husband’s death? You’ll have to read this debut to find out!
This is the second romance I’ve read recently where an average person and a star fall for each other. If you love instalove and destiny Romance tropes, this book is for you! This book is pretty decent on the spice too 🌶️
I hadn’t heard of this book or this author before but this book has made me very excited to read any other future work by this author.
This book felt very casual and very personal. From the very start I felt very comfortable with Kirsty’s character and really enjoyed her journey throughout this book. I felt like her personal journey was huge but what I liked was the book focused on a lot of the lighthearted, happy and fun side which meant it wasn’t too heavy.
It was exactly what I needed at the time when I picked it up and reading it felt like I was living out my own little fantasy. We can all say we have fantasied about a celebrity at least once! Kirsty’s living most people’s dream!
My favourite character was probably Pip, absolutely loved her straight-forward personality and loved how she helped her friend. Everyone needs a strong support in your corner and that was definitely Pip for Kirsty. I also absolutely loved Abi. I’m not sure if it’s because I’m a mum too but she absolutely made me cry so many times with how amazing she was.
Kirsty Green is a young, widowed, single mum to Abi. After losing her husband in a tragic accident, Kirsty has suffered years of grief, while bringing her young daughter up alone. One unsuspecting day she bumps into a stranger who completely turns her world upside down. He also happens to be a Hollywood star. Can Kirsty find love again?
📚What I loved:
-Fun, fast-paced romance with a little bit of spice!
-Kirsty's grief following the death of her first husband was well written and added depth to the story.
-Escapism into the world of Hollywood as movie star meet wedding planner.
📚 What I didn't like so much:
-Everything was just a little too perfect and moved incredibly quickly. Maybe I'm just a sucker for slow burn but I didn't really feel spark between Kirsty and Dillon.
-I didn't like Dillon as a character. I thought he was quite controlling of Kirsty and her life.
📚Who I'd recommend it to:
Anyone looking for a bit of escapism and loves fast-paced romances!
Thank you so much to Patsi for my copy in exchange for an honest review ❤️
"To Hook A Star" penned by the author Patsi Harvey is an intriguing read. The main character of the story is a 33 years old single mother Kirsty Green. Her daughter Abi is twelve years old. Losing her husband Gary in an accident was the most horrifying event of Kirsty's life.
Gary's friend Danny is a Godfather to Abi. Danny is in love with Kirsty but the problem is for Kirsty, he is just a friend. One day when Kirsty was coming home from London, she shared a cab with a Hollywood star Dillon. They both felt for each other but didn't express it. Now Kirsty is stalking Dillon on social media. Will they meet again?
The characters of the story are written well. The plot is nice. The cover photo and the title of the book is suitable according to the content. I loved the writing style of Patsi. I enjoyed every bit of this story. Really looking forward to reading more of Patsi's work in the future.
