Some would say quitting your job in the middle of a board meeting and running away to hide out with your best friend isn’t the wisest career move. But I have my reasons. Mostly.
What I can’t explain is why I kiss the hot cop who stops to change my flat tire in the middle of nowhere. Definitely one of my more reckless ideas.
I drive off, expecting to never see him again. But Oak Hill, North Carolina is smaller than I thought, and Ronan King seems to be everywhere I turn. Why does he have to be so helpful? So annoyingly kind? So quietly brooding? So irritatingly sexy? It’s enough to drive a girl crazy. The more I’m around him, the more he gets under my skin.
So, when we’re forced to live and work together for two weeks, I’m worried for my own sanity. Resisting the temptation to strangle him—or kiss him again—might just push me over the edge.
Isla has the ability to write tension like no other. It always ends with a bang as well. I loved Quinn and her need to be self reliant, she sounds familiar(me). But Rowan was an equally likable grump.
This was one intense and interesting couple and compelling book. Ronin this the second in line when it comes to the King brothers. He was always on the quiet side, but after his time in, Afghanistan he is more so and brooding, too.
He is prone to anxiety attacks when in crowds, which are great than his growing family. Which you know is happening if you read Finn’s story. When Ronin, comes in contact with a woman on the highway, he stops her due to a shredded tire, he’s worried about her haunted look.
What scares him is he has seen that face looking back at him in the mirror before. He knows she is in a state to the point where she had no clue her tire was even shredded. When she rolled down her window, she is white-knuckling the steering wheel.
She is heading to his hometown, so that alone makes him feel better. But after she kisses him, which they both get into, she drives off. Without him getting her name or the name of the friend she is going to be visiting. This is odd; because she had no luggage he noticed when he is getting out, her spare tire.
Imagine his surprise, when she shows up at their weekly family dinner with Finn’s girlfriend. She was not receptive to his presence, at all. Life gets downright interesting from here out.
Loved the chemistry between these two characters. They both come with their own set of issues, but they know at some point it will not work; if honesty doesn't come into play.
Trusting a King is the second book in the King Family Romance series. Each book focuses on a different King sibling. Book 2 is about Ronan, the second oldest King Sibling and Quinn, Hannah's(fmc from book 1) best friend. At first glance you'd think Quinn and Ronan HATE each other and that nothing could ever convince them otherwise. But we all know what they say about love and hate....it's a thin line. Ronan and Quinn are either destined to blow up or be perfect together, it just depends on if they can face their individual demons from their pasts , and be vulnerable enough to let someone else face them as well.
I absolutely adored this book and I might just like Ronan and Quinn more this I did Finn and Hannah!
Quinn is Hannah's best friend, and helps run the Jester on a temporary basis. Ronan is Finns' former marine cop brother. They rub each other the wrong way, but really want to hook up.....
This was a pretty good book. At first I didn't like the story and was ready to put the book away. The longer I read the better the story became. I would recommend this book.
