Now in its fourth edition, Research Methods for Leisure and Tourism has quickly become the ultimate reference text for both students undertaking academic research and practising managers. This book combines comprehensive coverage of a wide variety of qualitative and quantitative research methods with in-depth step-by step guidance through research software including Excel, SPSS and NVivo.
Yes, I'm reading this for my class, but it does have good info in it. It has taught me a great deal about proper conducting and use of sample surveys. The section on proper detailing (for lack of a better term) of papers is very helpful - the where, why, how to use a footnote type of thing.
I am only required to read a certain amount of chapters of this book, so I will not read it in chronological order, nor will I read everything that is why I already put it on finished, as I cannot keep updating this kind of reading process. Based on what I read so far it is a book that clearly explains how to conduct research and takes you step by step through the process. The only point with this book is, that at some points a specific term is explained by using another term, and that term will only be explained some pages later. The book then states that you will learn about that later, but at that point the initial term is not really clarified since part of its definition is unclear in/missing from our minds... But all in all, definitely a helpful book!
