I am a sucker for second-chance romance tropes and this one sounded fun. I liked our characters, Sean and Anne-Marie were high school sweethearts, but a betrayal separated them and now ten years later they are thrown back together for work. Since its a shorter book, things do move along quickly. All the old feelings come rushing back when they are reunited, but they still have trust issues and things to work out. I thought it was an entertaining read, nice if you're looking for a quick escape.

Miscommunication then no communication. Betrayal that wasn’t betrayal. Heart ache and heart break. Just how long can two stubborn people hold out before breaking? Its been 10 long years, Sean decides its been long enough. He needs closure, but what he really wants is to have Anne-Marie back. He’s never got over her. And, even through her anger and pride, Anne-Marie has never really let Sean go. Her brain says one thing but her heart says another.
I really loved this book. It is light hearted but poignant. It shows how misunderstanding can cause years of hurt, pain and anguish. It shows just how we can be our own worst enemy and not even realize it.
I have read most of this author’s Disarray books. They are excellent but a completely different genre than this one …. it takes talent to pull off writing different genres. Light hearted romance verses suspense driven drama. They both work to entertain and keep the reader involved. I look forward to the rest of both series of books.

Clarifying The Past For A Forever -
The book has a engaging and intriguing storyline, that kept me engrossed in order to discover more about Anne-Marie and Sean's past and the reason they broke up. Spending time together again, made them realise their feelings for each other never went away. Unfortunately, just as they are about to embark on a relationship, Sean’s past returns to reek havoc and changes the trajectory of Anne-Marie’s professional plans. However, I was really intrigued with Anne-Marie’s determination and perseverance to rectify her mistakes and fight for her happily ever after.
This is a well written story, with miscommunication, angst, family interference, healing, romance and rekindled love, which all leads to a riveting page turner. I look forward to reading more from this talented author, whose books I am happy to recommend.

I really enjoyed reading, My Ex and his List of Demands (Trouble in Love Series Book 4) by Jessie Cal because it was such a great story about Anne Marie and Sean. They were in love and had such great plans back in high school, but something happened, they broke up and they were both devastated. Years later they meet up due to Anne Marie's work. Loved their chemistry and it was a slow burn of a romance for them to trust each other again. I hoped that they would work out their differences and get together. But in life, things are not as what they seem. I would highly recommend reading this story. I received an ARC of this story and am voluntarily choosing to leave a review. Great story!!!

I enjoyed this romantic comedy. Sean, an author, and Anne-Marie's ex has demanded that she spend a week at a writer's retreat before he signs with her publishing company. They end up in hilarious situations and their love for each other shines through but the past needs to be buried before they can decide about their future. I loved their chemistry. I would highly recommend it for a light enjoyable read. i received an advance copy of this book and this is my honest review.

How can two people who were thick as theives as high school almost unseparatable.. have such poor communication issues? Why wouldnt they sit down and hash it out? 10 years is a long time to love someone but both are too stubborn/ insecure to reach out to clear the air. well the time arrived for second chances, will they be able to put it aside/ the past was not all they thought it was...
loved the story so many hurt feelings with two hearts frozen in time... sorry this is a must read

This is a brilliant read.
Wonderful well written plot and story line that had me engaged from the start.
Love the well fleshed out characters and found them believable.
Great drama and romance with wonderful world building.

This is a tale of a second chance romance between a pair of lovers broken by trust issues.
Sean and Anne Marie almost had it all. Everything was planned out and their future was within reach. But one fateful day brought them further from each other than either ever thought possible. 10 years later, Sean saunters back into Anne Marie’s life by way of her job and a little thing called blackmail.
They both realize just how much they still mean to each other but mistakes of the past keep coming back to haunt them.
It was a funny and sweet story that was easy to get into. I loved how perfect they were for each other. The storytelling was engaging and appealing. However, I felt the ending felt a bit rushed. I would have liked better “closure” by way of clearer communication between the two to end the story. But maybe that’s what the author was going for. Teaching us that sometimes, trust is really a big thing we need in our lives!

I liked this book. It was a fun read and I went back and read the others in the series. I didn't really get the big mystery of why he did what he did that broke them up in the first place. I'm assuming what she asked him on the talk show was the reverse of the last line in his short story? It wasn't real clear to me. Other than that, I really enjoyed the book and the series.

This is a REALLY Beautiful Love story!
As many people know, I have a problem with stories that end long before the couple gets married, has kids, etc. This book is really not an exception to that. Except, in one way it kind of is. These two had History and it followed them through the entire book. It's not resolved until the very end, which makes it not only the exception, but also a Beautiful ending!
Just remember, you will have toread the whole thing to understand! AND, YOU will be glad you did!!!!!!!

Anne-Marie has never forgiven Sean for stealing her scholarship. Now that he is a successful author, she is forced by her boss into going on a week's retreat with him to get him to sign with them. Sean wants her back - and there was more to the past than she knew about. Lots of embarrassing moments and a HEA. Despite being book 4 this is easily read as a stand alone. I received an ARC but this review is my own.

I enjoyed the getting to know these characters their chemistry is strong and the connections even stronger. The storyline flowed smoothly throughout the pages.

Jessie’s books always make me laugh out loud! She has a great sense of humor and it shows on every page. She expertly creates a storyline that keeps you turning the pages and her romances are always complex and full of interesting and funny obstacles. Love always wins!

Wow!!! This was SO good!!! This engineered second chance, clean romance was everything you could want..the angst, the feels and the serious trust issues and misunderstandings that need to be overcome!
Highly recommend this with its great characters and the fabulous twist at the end which was eluded to earlier in the story by the characters who were in the ‘know’ !

Sean wants Anne-Marie back in his life so he has a list of demands before she gets what she wants: for him to sign a book contract with the company she works for. An ABSOLUTELY wonderful read...
I couldn't WAIT for this one to come out. I loved the story line, I've never read one like it. And I'm a sucker for reads, where they've been in love with eachother before. There's history, which I love. It was sooo good & left me smiling all day!!!

This one is by far the best book that I have read by Jessie Cal. I loved the mystery of how and why Sean and Anne-Marie broke up in high school. Their chemistry, the banter, the slow burn of the romance, the struggle of trusting one another, the miscommunication, the betrayal, this book was so freaking good. 4.5 stars.

Sean and Anne-Marie were high school sweethearts ten years earlier. They parted over a misunderstanding and she headed to New York while he went on to Los Angeles. She works for a publishing house while he’s now a famous writer. All these years later, he arranges for her boss to send her to a writers convention to have him sign a contract with her company. She’s terrified to see him again, but they quickly find that the old sparks are still there. Unfortunately, so is their miscommunication and misunderstandings , that send them to opposite coasts once again. That sort of did it for me, but they do manage to unrealistically work things out

This was a story of teen love that was betrayed, lost and hopefully regained. It was a great story and the other books in the the series are sure to be just as good.
I enjoyed this author and will be reading many more of her books.

This is a new favorite author. She writes a funny but touching tender story. I usually don't like second chance stories as much as I liked this one.

This was a fantastic read. The chemistry as soon as they saw each other again was amazing. I love the story being for her and the meaning for it. Can’t wait to read others in the series!

This is a sweet second chance at love book. It is a misunderstanding that continues for years because of pride and not wanting to "hear it." All the stuff that happens leading up to the happy ending are a good read. You can put yourself in those positions and go back and forth with what you would have done. My kind of story!

Anne-Marie & Sean's story was sweet.
Anne-Marie is an editor & was kind of blackmailed by her boss to get Sean, who is a bestselling author in sci-fi romance (also her ex), to sign a contract with their publisher. Anne-Marie Had no choice but to agree, so she met Sean at a writing retreat & from there, his lists of demands start or more like "dates"😆.
Old feelings never changed on how both feel for each other even though 10yrs had passed. Both characters were likable and sweet; I just thought they were too perfect for me, though I don't mind flawed characters.
I thought it was very sweet❤️ when Sean asked for the fan ceiling to be removed from Anne-Marie's room since she has a phobia of it.
Although some of it was predictable, it was overall a good read, a short one (finished it in 2hrs) low in angst. It's a 2ed chance with HEA.
If you're looking for something sweet with no steam & no angst, I recommend that you check it out & I'll definitely be checking out other books by the author😊.

Many tropes, such as forced proximity, ex-boyfriend, country vs city, all smoothly blended is a light clean rom.com. I especially love the characters!
