I received a complimentary copy of this book from Booksprout and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
While this is a part of a series (some with her sisters) you don't have to read the prior ones to fully understand and enjoy this. I know as I haven't read them. I will though as this was so good.
This book is written in a dual POV format. I love that as reading the thoughts of the different characters really helps me to better understand and connect to them.
There were a few places where sexy times were alluded to but nothing was mentioned so I would classify this as a clean romance.
Hadley is an aspiring writer. She wants to write psychological thrillers. She works for her parents at their store while spending free time writing. Her older sister, Evie, suggests to her BFF, Evan, that Hadley would make for a wonderful assistant for him. Evan has come back to Windy Lake after selling his highly successful restaurant chain in Texas to help look after his parents. He was finally told that his father had previously suffered from cancer.
At a her sisters' dual baby shower, Hadley and Evan are thrown together for a hug. Her mom is really into the "new age" things with crystals and chants. Hadley has been in love with the twelve year older than her Evan for a LONG time. Evan has only seen Hadley as Evie's younger sister. That hug changed his outlook. A growing attraction combined with working together bring the two close. But danger lures around the corner.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a little suspense with their romance.
I received this book with the understanding that I could leave a voluntary and honest review.
In this book we get Hadley's story and we learn more about Evan. Hadley has had a crush on Evan for years now but all he sees her as is Evie's little sister. She wants him to see her as more but will he ever? Evan is back in town to take care of his parents but also to get away from a man who he never should have gotten into business to begin with. Evan doesn't want anyone near his radar so he thinks as long as he keeps a low profile it should be all good. Can he when he can't control his feelings for Hadley? Will they get a HEA or will someone else make sure that never happens?
Another amazing story from this author. I would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.
Hadley has had a crush on her older sister’s best friend Evan for years and when he comes back to Windy Hill to start a new business and offers her the job of assistant Hadley has mixed feelings about working close to him. It isn’t long before their working relationship turns romantic, but his past comes back to threaten their happiness. Hadley is a mystery writer and she ends up in her own suspenseful situation but without the promise of a happy ending. I wouldn’t have been so calm in her place.
I enjoyed every minute of this heartwarming and sweet contemporary small town romance that included unforgettable characters and a lovely story that kept me glued to the book from the first page to the last word. I loved the undeniable attraction and chemistry between Evan who returns to Windy Lake to be near his parents and his best friend's younger sister Hadley. Ms. Hill has hit another home run with Small Town Return, book 6 in her must-read Windy Lake series. I received an advance reader copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my review.
I loved the blurb and was excited since I loved Noelle’s story and I wanted to read her baby sister’s story. Now I didn’t read any others since book 2 but most things I had no problem but it’s feels like a totally different feel from #2. But I wanted to loved this as I read it but I just couldn’t connect with the characters nor the story and took me a while to read it, not the story it was great and all but it just didn’t bring me into their world.
Small Town Return is a clean, heartwarming, friends to lovers romance with suspense. I was quickly engaged in this compelling story. I love Hadley and Evan. Ms. Hill set up the conflict by having Hadley be twelve years younger than Evan and having Evan be Hadley's sister Evie's best friend. Some suspense from Evan's life away from Windy Lake follows him home and catches Hadley in its crosshairs. This one I could not put down!
A story that's heartwarming, enjoyable, sweet and so much more. You'll find yourself glued to the pages and can't put it down. The characters are endearing, easy to get to know, and have an attraction and chemistry between them that jumps off the pages. A nice, small town romance you'll be glad you added to your summer reading list.

Small Town Return is a friends to lovers romance between an older man and a younger woman who have known each other for years. Hadley has had a crush on Evan for years and now that he's moved back to Windy Lake she's determined that he sees her as a woman and not her sister's little sister. When danger follows Evan to Windy Lake things take some interesting turns. Small Town Return is book six and a great addition to the Windy Lake series. I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Finding Love Through Adversity This book is the sixth in the author's Windy Lake series. These are sweet romances with each book being about one of the sisters finding their love match. This book is about the youngest sister who is making writing her profession as she works at her parent's store. It does not contain traditional faith elements but does contain New Age Beliefs, Crystals, Chakras, and such. I really enjoyed this story as it unfolded in unexpected ways.
When Hadley needs a job, her sister suggests to Evan that she would make a good assistant. Hadley not sure if she can work with him due to her feelings for him. When they get trapped in a storm, things change for them both.

This series was interesting and entertaining from book one all the way to this one. The characters are all varied and well developed individuals of their own. It has been a joy reading about all 6 sisters finding their forever loves.
Set aside a day and have a tissue handy for this sweet PG15 contemporary small-town psychological thriller romance set in Windy Lake, Minnesota starting in February, but do not read in public as chortles will ensue. I had a free copy via Booksprout and this is my voluntary review.
Evan is off-limits, but Hadley wants to break the rules. Hadley has always had a thing for Evan, her older sibling’s best friend. However, Evan only sees her as a child. It was an entertaining, fun read. And am voluntarily leaving my review.
Small Town Return ~Windy Lakes #6 by Ruby Hill. The lovely cover and blurb caught my eye for this book on Booksprout. Though this is book 6, I have not read any of the books in the series. However, I think it can be read as a standalone. I need to find out if the books before are that of Hadley's siblings. If do I will purchase those Amand leave a review too. The characters are fantastic, great chemistry between Hadley and Evan, Evan being older by 12 years and a good friend of Hadley's older sister Evie. I found Small Town Return to be brilliantly written and fell into the story from the very beginning. I would recommend this 📚.
