She’s the forbidden fruit who is tempting me to risk it all.
I shouldn’t want Tamsin Cross for three very obvious reasons: she’s eighteen, inexperienced, and worst of all, our producer’s daughter. But from the first moment I saw her she drew me in.
Now I’m forced to see her every time we’re in the studio recording our latest album, and every day I come closer to cracking.
Until I do.
And if I thought my imagination of kissing her, touching her, loving her was powerful–it’s nothing compared to the real thing.
Our relationship might be forbidden, but I’ll put it all on the line for her.
Forbidden Intent is a steamy age gap, forbidden romance and the second book in the Rapturous Intent Rockstar Series. It is best if it’s read after book one, but it can be read as a standalone.
Cadence Keys writes steamy contemporary sports romances about complex alpha males and the women who love them. She loves football, coffee, and watching Gilmore Girl marathons. She has been writing for almost a decade, but only recently got the gumption to really do something with her work. She looks forward to publishing many more novels, specifically her LA Wolves series.
This book is such a rollercoaster. It is full of triggers. So reader beware. But if the triggers don't bother you, this is an amazing read. There is some incredible spice but the love story is unmatched. Miles and Tamsin will steal your heart over and over. The best part? This is a series where each book can be read as a standalone. So if you love the other band members, they all have their own stories!
This is a sweet and sexy taboo romance with strong characters in Miles and Tamsin. The author brings some intense situations and handles them beautifully. It's a great rockstar age gap romance with tons of steam. She moves the story fluidly with detailed and descriptive scenes and delivers a terrific book.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
Forbidden Intent is a steamy, insta-love, age-gap, praise kink, forbidden romance. I liked this book because of the tropes, but it did lean a bit too much into the insta-love trope for me and it put me off the book at the beginning; however, I loved the backgrounds of the characters and how it defined who they were.
The tension and chemistry between Miles and Tasmin was off the charts and the bit of resistance Tasmin had to the relationship showed the trauma her character experienced defined her actions and led to a bit of self-consciousness. I really liked how Miles was dominant, but not pushy when it came to their relationship and he was respectful of Tasmin.
Overall, it was a great book and definitely can be read as a standalone.
My favorite tropes were in this book forbidden romance, age-gap, and rockstar! Forbidden Intent is book 2 in the Rapturous Intent Rockstar series. Tamsin is a freshman in college and she is an intern working with the rock group Rapturous Intent on their new album. Miles is a famous rockstar drummer. The first time Miles and Tasmin meet there is an instantly attracted to each other. Miles knows from the beginning that Tamsin is off limits because she is the producer’s daughter. However, their attraction between them is undeniable. I loved the characters. I loved this book so much! This was an AMAZING read!
**I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.**
Forbidden Intent is the 2nd novel in the Rapturous Intent Rockstar series, following Tamsin and Miles. Tamsin Cross is an 18-year-old college freshman, interning for her dad, who happens to be the music producer of the rock group Rapturous Intent. While Miles, 28-years-old, is the drummer of said rock band. Even though the main characters do seem to fall instantly in love with each other, Tamsin tries to ignore her feelings, for a good portion of the book, because she feels like Miles deserves someone who can give him things she cannot. Mainly, intimacy. I’m not typically a fan of Instant Love, but I didn’t feel like the love was ever forced or unbelievable.
Miles is the type of man every woman wants! He’s described as not the fittest man alive, which I love how he’s doesn’t have the body of Adonis, with a chill, “stoner” drummer vibe. However, Miles loves control in the bedroom, and I am here for it!! He’s dominant, without being overbearing, and never tried to control Tamsin as a person. But the thing that made me fall in love with Miles was how respectful and caring he was. He never pushed himself on Tamsin, and even let her have control and dictate how things would happen.
I didn’t realize this was the second book in a series until halfway through, and honestly, I don’t feel like I missed much. I will definitely add the first to my TBR!
The only thing I am conflicted over, is the twist at the ending. I go back and forth because I feel like the twist was unnecessary but that may be because it broke my heart.
Contains: Age Gap, Praise Kink, Forbidden Romance, Love at First Sight TW: Date Rape (in the past), drug abuse, overdose, and sudden death
A great follow up to the first book, this story kicks off pretty much immediately where the last one ended.
Though the book is about Miles and Tamsin, I loved how the author took the time to lay more ground about the other characters in the series so we learnt more about Tristan, Kasen, Robbie and Jolie here too.
From a tough start (mild trigger warning) this book delicately approaches the relationship between the two characters and focuses on the healing power of their interactions with miles allowing Tamsin the space to learn about herself and explore elements of his world in the safety of his arms.
Tamsin very quickly integrates with the group and becomes as much a support for Miles as he is for her before Miles, in a badly thought out course of action, hurts Tamsin deeply.
I liked how introspective the characters were about troubling matters and sought to understand how they could not only help but might have contributed to the problem in an effort to change for the better.
Miles’ family dynamic I thought could have been explored a little more, there were hints of it but it never really amounted to much I thought.
I do think the next couple of books are going to be heartbreakers. Tristan’s book off the back of how this book ends will be an emotional tissue fest and Kason has been breaking our hearts since book 1 so the direction and conclusion of his story will be epic I am sure.
Forbidden Intent is the second book of Cadence Key’s Rapturous Intent series. The book is about Miles and Tamsin. At first glance, one would never pair Miles with Tamsin. He’s a famous rock star who is a fair amount older and has a ton more experience in all aspects of life. She’s an 18-year old college freshman who is interning at the studio where the band is cutting their next album. She’s also the band’s new producer’s daughter, which should make her off limits to Miles. From the opening chapter and their meet cute, the attraction is immediate. In spite of everything that should keep them apart, they take the leap and become more than friends. Throughout the book, they fight their issues. He struggles to trust and let her in. She’s struggling to overcome a traumatic incident and doesn’t think Miles would want to be with someone with her issues when he has so many other options. We learn that she’s the missing piece that settles him down and he helps her realize she’s not broken and is much stronger than she thinks. Drama ensues when Miles “helps” Tamsin by trying to get closure from the incident in her past. Can they survive it?
This is another well written book. An engaging storyline with likable characters that you can cheer on to a happily ever after. The epilogue sets up Tristan’s book and has me ready to jump into the next installment of Rapturous Intent.
I received an ARC of the book from the author for my honest review.
You guys - this book literally sucked me IN. I could not put it down, and it makes me excited to see what couple this little series will follow next. This CAN be read as a standalone - I know, because I did it. I had the opportunity to read this as an ARC from The Smuthood & Cadence Keys.
The tropes we see: rockstar romance, forbidden, age gap, and he falls first. Truly, it had so many sweet moments while covering some very sensitive topics. There is sexual abuse and drug abuse being talked about heavily throughout the entire book that kind of makes it feel a bit heavy. I read the remainder of this on a plane to Phoenix last week and it sat with me for a long while. Even had my jaw dropping at the ending and I just sat there, staring at the seat ahead of me trying to process.
The story? Miles is 28 and is the drummer in an upcoming band. Tamsin is 18, in college to become a publicist within the music industry and her father is one of the biggest producers in Hollywood. She just so happens to be Miles’ new producer’s only daughter. Tamsin was sexually assaulted years before in high school and only her best friend and therapist kind of know the details. She meets Miles and he falls instantly, but tries to stay away for the band’s sake - because come on, it’s their big break!! Tamsin hasn’t gotten close to anyone after her assault and she blames herself for everything that happened - but she learns to trust Miles and it really unfolds into such a beautiful story.
So this is “don’t judge a book by its cover” at the finest. Sorry Cadence but I’m not a fan of the cover at all. The book itself? That is great.
Forbidden Intent is a forbidden rockstar romance. Tamlin (daughter of the producer) falls for Miles (drummer of the band) and vise versa.
The book in itself is really good, I loved Tamlin she is such a strong character for what she went through. And everything she did and said is so relatable. I just loved her.
Little downside for me, Miles was a little too nice for my personal rockstar Fantasie 😂 I like my Rockstars grumpy, and Miles was the polar opposite. He is such a gentleman, and nice and everything you want your bf to be.
The book only got 4⭐️ due to personal preference. I like drama, and a lot of it and a lot of groveling. This book only had tiny amounts of that 😂 which again is not bad just a personal preference.
Miles is a drummer is a rock band. They have had success but now they have the exciting chance to work with Decker, a top tier producer. What he was not counting on was Tamsin, Decker’s 18 year old daughter and his current intern. Miles knows pursuing her is a bad idea but he cannot help himself. What he does not know is that Tamsin has a traumatic incident in her past and she is struggling to get beyond it. She thinks he is the one to help her finally feel whole. But when Miles tries to help her in a way resonates with him, it only causes her more pain. Can she forgive him?
I have read the first book in this series and really liked it. But I think this works as a stand alone. I am not a huge fan of age gap romances but I did like this story.
This is the second story of Rapturous Intent Rockstar series. Miles is the drummer of the upcoming rock band Rapturous Intent. He is 28yo with a heart of gold and kinky taste in the bedroom. He is instantly drawn to Tamsin but being only 18yo and the daughter of the guy who can make or break his band’s career, Miles tries to stay away….unsuccessfully. One horrific night when Tamsin was only 15yo, she was sexually assaulted and only her best friend and therapist know about it. Since that night, Tamsin has intimacy issues but meeting Miles stirs something in her. I loved how Miles treated her with lots of patience, care and love, and Tamsin was able to heal. This is an amazing story about forbidden love, undeniable attraction, longing and overcoming traumatic past. I voluntarily reviewed this book after receiving a free ARC.
Wow where I don’t normally read books that have so many twists and turns and emotional roller coasters. However, this book had me gripped from the start & did not disappoint at all!
I will not spoil it for other readers, however I feel like I’ve been on an emotional journey with all the characters from start to finish & definitely want to know what happens to each character and how they evolve through each book in the series!
The author has definitely done herself proud with her writing skills and storylines and I’m so glad I decided to give this book a chance.
It managed to grasp my attention with its ‘blurb’ and kept it the whole way through which takes a lot believe me.
Definitely a 5* read!!

This book may have triggers for narcotic abuse and rape. Miles can't help it, he's fallen for their producer's daughter right in the middle of recording their next album for Rapturous Intent. Tamsin likes him too, but because of her past is afraid to move forward and tell him. Meanwhile, Kasen who swore off drugs after his last rehab stint, has found his ex girlfriend/dealer and is dancing down that path again. The band doesn't see a future with Kasen in it if he can't control his temptations. Can Miles and the band keep it together for a charity concert or does life & death get in the way and mess up their show. So many twists and turns at the end that pull at your heart strings. Loved it! 5 star for sure.
This is the 2nd book in this series, and this is Miles and Tamsin’s journey. Miles is a famous rockstar drummer, and when his band is recording their next album, he is attracted to Tamsin, who is interning at the studio. Miles knows that Tamsin is off limits, as she is the producer’s daughter, innocent, and only 18-years-old, but the attraction between them is undeniable. Tamsin is struggling to overcome a traumatic incident in her past and feels that Miles can help her. This is a beautifully written story which had an engaging storyline, and has an age gap, trust, drama, emotions, intrigue, and is an unpredictable and a steamy addictive page turner. I received an advance review copy from the author, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Forbidden Intent is book #2 in the Rapturous Intent Rockstar series. Its a steamy, age gap, forbidden romance.
Tamsin is 18, a freshman in college and is spending time interning with her dad, Decker, who is working with the rock group Rapturous Intent on their new album. Tamsin has been thru something traumatic and is working thru it. When she first meets Miles, the drummer for the band, they are instantly attracted to each other, but she is off limits due to being the producers daughter and being younger than him. But, they can't stay away from each other.
I loved this book so much! I haven't read Cadence before but i want to read all of her books now! This is an emotional read and you need to read it!!
Miles & Tamsin's Story holds some rather intense trigger including drugs, SA & the trauma that follows. Miles is the drummer in a semi successful band who have just landed a chance at a extremely successful producer for the next album. Surprise Surprise Tamsin is the producers daughter 😅
Such an emotional book, from love to dealing with trauma. It was perfectly written from the survivors point, didn't down play anything so it comes off extremely real, which broke my heart even more. Just as you think everything is going to be ok, you get your heart ripped out & stamped on repeatedly 😭😭 *insert emotional damage guy*
This book took my breath away in more ways than one. Be warned there are mentions of drug use throughout the book and and overdose towards the end (but not necessarily the one you would expect). There are also mentions of rape and the aftermath of dealing with rape.
Tamsin is my hero and experiencing her battle to open herself up to intimacy after her traumatic past is inspiring.
Miles is my hero and I firmly believe everyone needs a Miles in their life! He’s got such a heart of gold and is Tamsin’s perfect match for helping her work through her past.
The plot twist at the end also took my breath away and I was in no way prepared for how much it would make me feel.
Forbidden Intent is the second book of the Rapturous Intent series and I read it first, before book one! Now I must go and start from the beginning because I fell in love with all the characters!
I was hooked on Miles and Tamsin from the very first page! Rooting and cheering for them to find their HEA! This age-gap, rocker romance and my heart a humming and strumming throughout the pages. You get everything from loss and love, heart ache to your heart being filled with love, steamy and sexy scenes. Deals with trauma and addiction, and putting your trust, heart, and soul into someone else.
Good pace and storyline kept my interest. Would recommend.
This is a well written book about an older rockstar who is drawn to the much younger daughter of the band’s record producer. Despite telling himself over and over that he can’t go there, Miles can’t stop himself from approaching her. But Tamsin has her own demons to overcome. Do they dare to go for the big prize, true love? Will the blowback affect the band? Enthralling characters, infinite patience, and a quest for that one true connection. If you love a good rockstar story, this one is for you.
I really enjoyed this book! If it’s a rockstar romance, I’ll read it… throw in age gap and DING DING DING! I’m a sucker for it. The only complaint i had here was the Insta-love… typically I don’t like it at all, but I enjoyed this story despite that fact. Miles and Tamsin has explosive chemistry and I loved watching Tamsin overcome her past trauma and heal. Each book is a standalone, so I’ll definitely have to go back and read the first book, and I’m looking forward to the rest of the series! *ARC review*
Y’all. I have been on a smut kick lately. Like the more smut the better. So, when I read that this was an age gap, forbidden romance? SIGN ME UP. ⠀ I was not disappointed! Tamsin & Miles were beautifully chiseled and their story was deliciously addictive! I couldn’t get enough!!! Of course the sparks and passion they flew between them was incredible! ⠀ I definitely recommend this one if you love forbidden romances. It’s page turning, 4.5 ⭐️Worthy and I am going back and reading book 1 in this series simply because I need more & I’m now a forever Cadence Keys fan!
Miles is a patient, caring, all-in, loving man that puts Tamsin first from the beginning. Tamsin shares her past with him and he instantly does whatever he can not to trigger her, which made my heart so happy. Tamsin started off in hiding and in silent pain with so much struggle dealing with her past alone. I was so proud of her for letting Miles in and being willing to try. This story had all the feels and I loved it.
This book is so hot that it should be in fire! The story sucks you in immediately and I devoured the entire book in a single sitting. The plot was phenomenal and I loved the characters. I could not put it down until I knew what was going to happen next. This is definitely a must read for all romance lovers!
Forbidden Intent is a great read from the beginning to the end! I couldn’t stop reading! Miles and Tamsin’s story is heart felt, and romantic with a lot of spice! I love their chemistry and how understanding they are with each other. I can’t wait to read more of Rapturous Intent series!!
I voluntarily leave an honest review of this Advanced Readers Copy.
Not really crazy about this book. Too much sex and people dying. I also didn't care for Tamsin keeping her incident to herself this made her guilty of letting someone get away with a crime to repeat it. Also roofies do not react as described please do a good ck on how drugs work in the system and on the victim. Hope the next one doesn't end on a sad note.
From the very beginning, the story moved at an excellent pace. At no point did it lag or allow me to lose interest! The characters were fleshed out very well and most believable! How could I not root for them? I will seek out other stories in this series...Thank you for the excellent read!
I have all 4 books and I read synopsises for all of them so I knew what would happen in the epilogue. I dread to read about it, I really like the character, I was trying to prepare myself. No luck, my heart is broken. I assume we'll have happy ending in book 3 for the main couple, but it would be bittersweet
This book was deceptively easy to get into but was by no means a light read. There were many heavy topics including SA, substance abuse, and mental health issues. These were portrayed very accurately. The ending was initially a bad surprise but led into the second book really well.
This book!! It made me fall in love with stand-alone series. I’m so invested in each guys story & how they will all come to find love. This was the perfect mix of forbidden romance & heartmending!! I loved it!!
