I’m fine. Really. I don’t need help. Especially not from my best friend’s little brother. Who’s six foot five and built like a football player.
I’m in a bit of a pickle. I’m renting a house for the summer and got a great deal because I convinced the owner I could take care of the yard, paint the place, and take care of all the other minor stuff that needs fixing around the place. Only problem? I have no clue how to do any of that, but what can I say? I’m an amazing actress.
No, really. I’m an actress working on the hottest new show coming to your favorite streaming platform next year. Maeve Alden. You may have heard of me. Everything was fine until the person calling herself my best friend talks me into letting her little brother stay with me. Max is flexing his muscles, taking care of everything, and coming to my rescue more than once. I’m in more trouble than I was in before.
Mitigating Meave is a heartwarming and quirky romantic comedy about friends who grew up together and may just become more than that. Oh, and then there’s Alistair, Maeve’s pet snake, who keeps getting her in trouble. It is book two in the Sweet Southern Romantic Comedy Series.
Susanne Ash writes sweet contemporary romance. When she's not busy putting pen to paper, she loves to cook, knit, and head out exploring with her husband and daughter. She lives close to the beach in beautiful South Carolina. You'll find that her setting is often a fictionalized version of her surroundings and the places she's visiting with her family.
Such a good book! Very entertaining. It was funny, heart wrenching, and sweet all rolled up in one. I loved where the story went. It was unexpected and surprising. It ended differently than I thought it would, the ending being better than I had hoped. This is one of those stories where you see so much character growth develop by the end of the book. It was a great journey of transformation. Max and Maeve were incredible together. I loved his career choice. This is the first of the series I’ve read and now I’m hooked. It was stand alone and easy to follow even though I hadn’t read the first one. Rating: PG, clean
I had a free copy of this book, but this is my voluntary and honest opinion. Maeve Is starring in a TV show, but doesn’t have time to fix up the house she’s renting as she promised she would. Then Max her best friend’s younger brother shows up to visit and helps her. He finds he likes the city better than working on the farm and starts finding and renting old farm equipment to the movie set, and keeping Maeve on an even keel. When Maeve gets a movie role but must go to Canada Max is unable to go due to family obligations. A touching story about finding your way, and keeping family ties strong.
Wonderful characters that will tug at your heart strings and draw you in and not let you go.
Aimee and Maeve have been school friends forever and Max has alway been Aimee’s annoying little brother, but not anymore.
Put into close contact with each other, feelings grow and Maeve comes to rely on Max for more than just the upkeep of the house she’s renting, he becomes vital for her stability.
They were a gorgeous couple, Max was adorable and the fact he had been pinning for her for ages just added another layer to their dynamics.
This is a sweet, clean romance with laughter (and a tear for me anyway), and a warm, wonderful story. For one of the main characters, a dream comes true, for the other, his dream comes true and the life he thought he had takes a complete change. I enjoyed every minute.
Relationships are the crux of life - family, friends, romantic, work. This book has them all - the good, the bad, and the ugly. We see Aimee and Leo again. We see Maive in all her acting glory, as well as the family hurts. Max has vital decisions to make. The story is so interesting right up to its surprise and very happy ending.
This is a great story with amazing characters. They found a way to realize their dreams while also falling deeply in love. They found their happy ever after and it's glorious..
