Once again, Paige Tyler brings readers another wonderfully executed story. In Loving the Wolf , romance, action, and suspense fill the fourteenth book in the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team paranormal romantic suspense series. Set in contemporary times and mainly in Los Angeles County in California, this novel features SWAT werewolf Trevor McCall and Jenna Malone. Jenna is the younger sister of Trevor’s friend and fellow SWAT werewolf Connor Malone.

Jenna and Trevor met during the last book in the series and they connected, spending time talking and getting to know each other. When Jenna invites him to California for a visit, he accepts, but doesn’t tell Connor. Trevor suspects Jenna is his fated mate. However, there’s something hiding in California that is dangerous, and Jenna is in the middle of it.

Art has been Jenna’s coping mechanism since she experienced a traumatic event when she was a teen. She works in the movie industry doing a little glamour makeup, but mainly creating monsters for shows. She also draws and sculpts the things in her head. Abandoned by her family, she has made a life for herself with friends she works with and those she encounters during her days. She is also helping the unhoused by providing meals and trying to get them jobs. Trevor is warm, welcoming, a great listener, and protective. They are strongly attracted to each other, but is she Trevor’s fated mate? Characters from previous books in the series make appearances, but the focus is on Jenna and Trevor.

It is a riveting story with protagonists that I liked and cheered on as their efforts to resolve the hidden danger increases. I’m being deliberately vague here to avoid spoilers. It held my attention fully and contained the elements that I love in this genre of books. It delivers on escapism through attraction, friendship, family, romance, and love. At the same time, it also tackles the serious issues of kidnappings, family dynamics, guilt, friendship, and the unhoused. There is one steamy scene just after the halfway point in the book.

Overall, this book is emotionally-charged, full of danger, and intense; with a terrific romance and nonstop action. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series. If you enjoy thrilling paranormal romantic suspense novels, then I recommend you check out this series. There is enough background that this novel can be read as a standalone, but the series is best read in order.

SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca and Paige Tyler provided a complimentary digital ARC of this novel via Net Galley. All opinions expressed in this review are my own. Publication date is currently set for May 09, 2023.

Loving the Wolf by Paige Tyler
SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team #14. Paranormal wolf shifter romance. Can be read as a stand-alone romance but better if a few of the first series books have been read for background.
Trevor fell for Jenna when she was in Dallas to get help from her brother. He takes some vacation time to travel to Los Angeles, where Jenna lives to visit and confirm to himself, that she is “The One” fated mate for him. While he’s in LA, the creatures that took Jenna’s sister ten years ago, resurface and kidnap more people from Skid Row. Trevor, Jenna, and several of his pack mates from Dallas go on the hunt for the ghouls.

Fast moving adventure with danger, and passion and family healing. Yep, these books are fun and campy but also tend to have family dynamics and friendships at the core. Oh, and drama because when a werewolf finds his mate, he suddenly doubts his worthiness of her love. He’s a SWAT member, and kind and generous and a hero. Silly werewolf.

I received a copy of this from NetGalley. This is a must read author for me with a guaranteed swoon-worthy HEA.

LOVED this book!!!! Actually, I love this whole series. In this novel, Trevor risks his pack mate's wrath when he pursues Jenna, his pack mate's sister. Both Jenna and Trevor are smitten, but Trevor is keeping a big secret. When creatures of the underworld kidnap and attack people, Trevor calls his pack mates for help. What follows is a very crazy and creative tale that pits them in a fight they can't win.

I loved the characters, especially Jenna, who found a creative way to deal with the trauma in her life. Trevor is the (almost) perfect sexy wolf and I loved the way they interacted together and how Jenna found the strength to face her fears.

This series is a must read and fans of the genre will love it. It's a stand alone novel, however its so good that you really owe it to yourself to read them all. The author is on my must read authors' list.

There is no way I won’t be reading more from this series. I’m so happy to have found this new sci-fi/fantasy action-packed romance.

Honestly, I’ve always been kind of obsessed with werewolves and shape-shifters since I started reading books. Sci-fi & fantasy is one of my favorite genres and I’m always looking for new novels, mainly with wolves. I had never heard of this series before and I’m really glad I requested this book to review.
Loving the Wolf is the 14th book in the SWAT series and I was a little afraid of going into it without reading the previous installments. However, it was easy to pick up on all the information needed to enjoy this story and everything that came with it. I would have like a little extra background on some of the stuff, but I can totally understand that after 13 other books, it would be a little redundant to explain most things.
This story was fun and enthralling, I was hooked from the very beginning. I love how much action and adventure there was, mostly because it felt real and believable. There wasn’t a time that I was doubting how things were happening, I felt completely immersed in the universe the whole time. The plot behind the story was entertaining and got me to read the book in just a few hours.
Both main characters were engaging and easy to connect to. I was intrigued by the hero’s background and the rest of his story. Trevor was so cute and totally book boyfriend worth it. I confess that I was in love with him from the first pages. The way he understood and treated the heroine was amazing. Jenna had a difficult backstory and didn’t trust very easily, but with him everything seemed to happen so naturally. I really enjoyed how their romance turned out.
The soulmate aspect were front and center of this book. The hero suspect from the begging that she was The One and she also felt captivated by him, even if she didn’t really understand why. Despite their initial connection, they took their time getting to know each other before they really got together. It wasn’t a full slow-burn, but it also wasn’t totally insta-love. It was a very nice middle ground, with their relationship developing in a lovely way.
It was my first book from Paige Tyler and I’m so glad I found this new-to-me author. It’s not easy to find well written books with werewolves and lots of action, like this one. As I said before, I will absolutely be reading the previous installments in this series. I was totally hooked by this different universe and how the werewolves came to be. It was a new and irresistible concept for me. I will be looking forward to reading more from this author as soon as I can.

This book picks up a few weeks after the last. We have Jenna and Trevor's romance, along with rescuing her sister Hannah and fighting fast, impenetrable creatures of the underground. We have some of our SWAT favorites and new characters. I hope Madeline is given a chance at love and we revisit the LA crew again.

Loving The Wolf is the 14th book in Paige Tyler’s SWAT Series about a Dallas SWAT Team comprised solely of werewolves. Just like all of the other books, this one brings the heat in and outside of the bedroom. There’s plenty of drama, and it’s lots of fun. Paige continues to find new paranormal creatures to introduce us to. Somehow, she hasn’t run out of great stories to tell.

Loving the Wolf features SWAT Team Member Trevor McCall and his SWAT buddy Connor’s sister Jenna Malone. Jenna is definitely THE ONE for Trevor but there’s a lot of tension created when he tries to keep that relationship a secret while at the same time having to deal with ghouls that may have abducted Connor and Jenna’s sister 10 years ago. Since Trevor is far from ordinary, he and Jenna embark on a very dangerous mission to free her sister and explore their passion for each other. What happens next is a surprising look into the underground life of ghouls and the plight of the homeless in California.

I thoroughly enjoyed Loving the Wolf. It’s action-packed, full of love, and just plain fun to read. I would have expected to have gained werewolf fatigue after such a long series but the stories are still well thought out and full of twists and turns. I am looking forward to the next one.

This was my first Paige Tyler book, and I really enjoyed it! I loved the subtle differences that she incorporated into the wolf/mate relationship. I also loved that this was not your typical werewolf supernatural book. This book read like a mystery/ suspense, former military book with a supernatural edge, and I loved it! Trevor and Jenna were absolutely perfect together. I’m so glad that Jenna was written as a strong female lead that was still sweet and caring, but didn’t collapse and run in fear from Trevor’s identity. And Trevor was quietly strong and protective of Jenna without being a jerk about it. Overall this book was really well written, and the characters complimented each other fantastically! Will definitely read this author’s other books, and highly recommend this one.

I really enjoyed Trevor and Jenna's story although Connor, Jenna's brother, was rather annoying. Maybe his fated mate, Kat should've been there to straighten him out. The mystery behind, Jenna and Connor's sister, Hannah's disappearance made the action non-stop. It also gave Jenna and Trevor's relationship a chance to build at the perfect pace. I'm liking these crossover stories between Dallas and LA. Paige Tyler's imagination has no limits.

Jenna is a special effects person for a movie company in Los Angeles. Her brother, Connor, is on a SWAT team in Dallas and when she goes to see him, she meets Trevor. Trevor is a member of the SWAT team, a werewolf, and buddies with Connor. He knows Jenna is THE ONE, his soul mate. Jenna invites Trevor out to Los Angeles to visit but come face to face with a creature that he's never seen before. Between this new threat and Connor not wanting Trevor around his sister, its a tough go for Trevor and Jenna. When Jenna gets taken, Trevor will stop at nothing to get the one he loves back.

Action. Suspense. Sexy times. A werewolf and a human. Excellent story. I read this in one day, it keeps you hooked from the first page.

The hunky SWAT team takes on monsters and inadvertently assists an underground rebellion in this fast-paced adventure.

SWAT werewolf Tyler gave a sympathetic shoulder and ear to Jenna when her brother brushed off her claims of seeing their long-lost sister. When he goes to visit her in LA, unbeknownst to her protective brother, he finds Jenna already involved in danger. In the midst of all this, he realizes that Jenna is The One for him, but getting past her brother and his packmate, Connor, might prove to be the harder obstacle.

We met Jenna and Trevor in the previous book, The Wolf is Mine, which was also Connor’s story. The two of them worked well together, literally and as a couple. Jenna was quite remarkable. She had a super interesting job creating monsters and make up for movies. And she never gave up on looking for her sister or insisting on what she saw on the night Hannah disappeared, despite her family not believing or supporting her.

Trevor didn’t have a big character arc, other than falling in love with Jenna, making her part of his world, and dealing with Connor. On the other hand, Jenna discovered monsters were real and closer to home than she thought, and she had to deal with the complicated relationship between her and Connor, among other things. She faced a bigger change in the way she viewed the world.

I am not a fan of the uber protective brother character trope. Connor had some very questionable moments, but it seems you can teach an old werewolf new tricks.

The underground monsters reminded me somewhat of the Morlocks from the movie The Time Machine. I was very intrigued by their society and it made wonder how things will end for them and our heroes.

All-in-all, this was an exciting and fun read and I finished it in almost one sitting. I can highly recommend this series if you like werewolves and other paranormal creatures and plenty of nail-biting action. Personally, I think it’s best to read the books in order, the characters will make more sense and you won’t miss out on any story development.

Thank you to Netgalley for providing me with a copy. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Well, this one was a bit different. Not in Dallas and not having the whole team around. I did like that Trevor went to LA to see if Jenna was really The One for him, but hated how he had to hide that he was going because of Connor.

The trip started out really good for the two of them, they were spending time together and really getting to know each other. Then one of Jenna's secrets came out that led to more, which led to what Jenna saw when her sister was taken was true and Jenna's whole world started to open up, kinda. The kinda part because while she now knew about supernaturals, she didn't know Trevor's secret. Then before Trevor could take the time to slowly tell Jenna, Connor shows up and it all goes to hell quickly.

The guys...well mostly Connor, have to put their differences aside, while they hunt the ghouls stealing people. It's here things become a bit wacky, the ghouls are crazy and have some crazy skills, which makes finding and defeating them hard. Things were looking good for the team until all of a sudden they found an ally, Hannah, the missing sister. Her tale is a crazy one and you can see why she made some of the choices she did. In the end they were able to stop the ghouls and help Hannah take back her life.

I liked how this one ended, the siblings all together, Trevor and Jenna a couple living in Dallas building a life together.

Loving the Wolf was an easy going, well paced story explaining not just werewolves, but other paranormal creatures. I enjoyed the mix of romance between Trevor and Jenna and the touch of horror/mystery. Jenna is the little sister of Trevor’s friend Connor and when he finds out about them together, he hits the fan! Connor shows up, along others from the alpha team, and secrets are revealed. Add in a sister that went missing years ago, Jenna determined to find her no matter the cost and BAM! Sorry time!

It was an enjoyable read and worth picking up! I did receive an ARC of the book in exchange for my honest review.

I really enjoy this series and Loving the Wolf was just a great as the others before it. Jenna was considered the crazy or "seeing things" from the trauma she endured as a teenager when her sister was kidnapped. Nobody believed her when she explained what she saw until Trevor. Jenna travels to visit her brother hoping to get his help but instead meets his friend Trevor who not only instantly attracted to her but protects her from her brothers hurtful words. Scary ghouls make an appearance and everything seems to fall into place very Jenna and Trevor. Exciting story and can't wait to ready more.

Loving the Wolf by Paige Tyler is the 14th book in her fantastic SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series. I have been a big fan of Paige Tyler’s books, as she always gives us wonderful, paranormal romance suspense stories, that are exciting, pulse pounding action filled, as well as great couples and hot alpha men (werewolves) that are part of the SWAT team.

Jenna Malone, our heroine, has returned home from visiting her brother, Connor (last book hero); and after trying to convince him that he needs to help find their missing sister, Hannah (kidnapped 10 years ago). Connor has always thought Jenna was hallucinating, with her seeing Hannah being taken by a creature, and she angrily leaves to go back to LA.

While in Dallas, she met Trevor McCall, another member of the SWAT team, and they spent time together, enjoying their company. Jenna invites Trevor to visit her in LA, and he makes plans to take a vacation, as he begins to feel she is the ‘One’.
Jenna takes Trevor around LA, and while sightseeing, they hear a scream, with both running to help save the woman being dragged by a creature. Trevor has never seen this type of creature, but manages to save the woman. He later learns from Jenna that the creature is the one who kidnapped Hannah all those years ago. Trevor calls Hale to get some backups to help discover about the creatures, and to tell Gage, not to bring Connor. That didn’t work out, as Hale, Mike and Connor are send to help. Connor is upset, as he is angry that Trevor is around his sister; despite Jenna saying Trevor is staying at her place.

Throughout, there were fights between Trevor and Connor (he was really annoying), but Trevor knew Jenna was his soulmate.
The mystery behind Hannah’s disappearance, was an enthralling non-stop action filled adventure. The SWAT members go underground to battle the creatures (Ghouls), and try to rescue the people kidnapped, as well as find Hannah. When Hannah is seen, Connor realizes the error of his ways, knowing Jenna was right, and he did nothing to try and find Hannah. The team will work with Hannah to help rescue others, as she worked with a group of Ghouls, who want peace and stop the others.

What follows is a suspenseful, exciting, intriguing, action filled mystery, that kept me unable to put the book down. I loved Jenna and Trevor, as they made a great couple; especially when they both know that they are soulmates. I also loved the pack members who were there, Madeline, Jenna’s friend, and other great secondary characters.

Loving the Wolf was a fantastic addition to this wonderful series, as well as very well written by Paige Tyler.

Loving the Wolf is the fourteenth title in the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series, and even with so many stories within the series, the author has given us another creature to fear and the team to hunt down. We first met Trevor and Jenna in the previous story, The Wolf is Mine, and now their relationship deepens as Jenna has invited Trevor to spend time with her in Los Angeles. He strongly suspects that Jenna is his The One and that his teammate/packmate, Connor (Jenna’s brother) isn’t exactly thrilled by this fact. Connor is extremely protective of his sister, and as the story unfolds we’ll understand why.

I’m reluctant to go into any details about the creatures we’ll encounter or other details that I feel classify as spoilers. Having said that… Loving the Wolf is one heck of a suspenseful, steamy, finding your mate experience filled with wit, danger, laughter, painful experiences of the past, steamy moments in the present, the sense of a solid future, and finally finding hope after it has been lost for so long.

I loved Jenna. What she experienced is horrific, yet she is far stronger than she imagines, and stubborn as well. Her way of dealing with the trauma of the past is unique, as well as her talent for making a living. Several issues are addressed realistically and with care. And with Trevor, she simply shines. She may not truly understand what The One is, but she does feel a pull toward this man that she’s not backing away from – in spite of her brother’s overprotectiveness.

I always enjoy returning to this series, but Trevor and Jenna were a unique couple that drew me in from the first page. Their story is unique, the passion between them is believable, and the emotional journey they’re on will keep you on edge throughout. Another well-written, riveting story in this series that I would highly recommend to any reader who loves romantic suspense of the paranormal kind and a really good romance.

While this one can stand alone quite successfully, there are a lot of great stories in this series. If at all possible, I’d recommend going back to the beginning of the series or at least the previous story for those connections. You don’t “have” to, all you’ll need to know, as other team members make appearances, is given within the narrative or dialogue.

I received an eARC for my honest opinion.

This is book 14 in the SWAT series, it can be read as a standalone, but I highly recommend reading the other ones for two reasons. Reason one is because Paige Tyler is an amazing author and this series is just amazing, Reason 2, it will help you with all the information for the background.

This book is about Trevor and Jenna, and you will get to go on the action-packed adventure of trying to figure out who or what is taking people off the streets of LA, Jenna's sister was one of the victims that was taken a few years back. I love how Tyler can make you feel like all the paranormal stuff that is happening is real and not made up. It really helped me with getting a connection with the characters and the plot. The plot the whole time was fun, spicey, engaging and kept you on your toes. The pace was fast, and I was able to finish this book in 1 day.

The characters were likable and easy to connect with, like all her books. I loved how Trevor is a laid back, sweet, and very sexy male, but it was his personality that made me fall in love with him. He is so understanding, treats Jenna with respect and holds his boundaries with her until she is ready. I loved Jenna's story and I felt for her with her past and having to relive that horrible night when that creature took her sister from her, and she froze with fear, so she was not able to help her sister. I love that even with that trauma she is still looking for her sister and the creatures that took her, along with the other humans from the homeless camps. I love that this book wasn’t an insta-love but at the same time it was not a slow-burn, it was a wonderful mix of both, done in the right way. Also, the moment when Jenna found out that she was “The One” fated mate to Trevor, I enjoyed how she handled it and I think a lot of that was because Tyler weaved their love story throughout the book that it was not a huge shock. I enjoyed getting to know the new characters that I bet we will see in future books, as well as other characters from the previous books.

I cannot wait to see what book 15 will bring us and to see the other characters find their “The One”.

I recommend these books to anyone who likes reading paranormal romance, action, drama with some suspense.

I want to thank NetGalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the opportunity to review this book.

I started Paige Tyler's 'Loving the Wolf' early on, then put it down for a myriad of reasons but when I hunkered down one afternoon to read it, it was actually an enjoyable (and fast) read with its speedy pacing, action-packed scenes and characters who don't stray far from whom they're supposed to be.

Every book is Tyler's take on the whole SWAT werewolf team finding his soulmate, in which the process becomes a repetitive act of: sniffing a soulmate's signature scent, finding that inexplicable connection, then confessing his true status as a wolf which fighting the baddies. The result? HEAs all around, more conveniently so because the werewolf's ability does inevitably save a damsel in distress.

But Tyler could be forgiven for sticking to this particular protocol; for a while I'd thought it had become a 'same story, different names' series but the introduction of a slew of paranormal creatures and supporting human characters has given Tyler a huge range of situations and plots bunnies to tweak. And that is something I'm enjoying immensely as I go through each book as it comes out, even if 'Loving the Wolf' is a lupine version of wolf-meets-teammate's-sister with lots of gnashing of teeth and noisy, object-heaving fights all around.

I couldn't really find fault with Trevor McCall or Jenna Malone--both seemed equally into each other and their attraction/devotion to each other as solid as when they first met, only that their conclusion, like many other pairs before them, seemed to come as an abrupt and bruised HEA before the author's acknowledgement page comes up.

That said, it's great fun to go through and a honking cinematic ride from start to end.

To rescue the kidnapped sister of his human soul mate, a magnificent SWAT team werewolf must seek help from his team to crawl through narrow underground tunnels. Author Paige Tyler's world-building takes readers outside Dallas and into Los Angeles, 300 feet underground. Fierce paranormal creatures have terrorized the city.

I was caught up in the sexy and gentle romance between Tyler and Jenna. I wouldn't have guessed if I hadn't known before I read it that it was number 14 in the series. It stands alone. The characters were real to me. I enjoyed how gentle Trevor is with Jenny, especially since he knows how timid and isolated she has been since her sister was taken. I liked everything about this story. Try as I might, I can't think of anything negative.

The author's web page, http://www.paigetylertheauthor.com) states that Tyler "pursues her passion and writes books about hunky alpha males and the kick-butt heroines who fall in love with them." Yes, she certainly does. I thank NetGalley and the publisher, Sourcebooks Casablanca, for giving me the e-ARC (electronic-advance review copy). The opinions are voluntary and my own.

"Loving the Wolf" is a paranormal werewolves and shifters romance, a sci-fi/fantasy action-packed romance, a werewolf and shifter thriller, and a werewolf and shifters suspense story. I recommend it to fans of these types.

Warning: There is a breathtaking moment when several rescuers are trapped in small spaces. Readers who might be too affected by that should skip this book.

another good installment in the series with plenty of action, humor and romance. The author mixes things up a little by moving the story out of Dallas and to LA as well as having Jenna having some awareness (if no real knowledge/understanding of the vastness) of the supernatural world. Of course, the SWAT team's understanding of that vastness keeps growing as well. The enemy in this story is one that was briefly introduced in the authors related series (STAT) & while Jenna was introduced in the last book (her brother Connor's story), this story still works fairly well on its own. Jenna is estranged from her family due to events around her sister's disappearance when she was young. Big brother's overprotective, overbearing idiocy doesn't help either. She's never given up on finding her sister and a recent possible near run in has made Jenna even more determined in her search. Trevor thinks Jenna may be "the one" for him and has no intention of letting big brother & any "bro code" interfere with determining if she is for sure. So he heads out to LA on vacation to spend time with Jenna and for them to see just where their relationship maybe heading. Of course, things do not go smoothly and the past, present and future collide and the hunt for answers entwine. As secrets and fears are revealed and answers found will with happiness or heartache be the final result.

Once again a hit in this wonderful series. It's the 14th book already but it never gets dull or boring.

Here we have Jenna and Trevor who met in the last book. Trevor's convinced Jenna is 'The One' for him but because she's his best friend Connors sister, he takes things really slow. When she invites him to her place, he accepts but keeps it a secret from Connor.

Jenna has felt a fierce attraction to Trevor ever since meeting him, but she's reluctant to start anything even though he makes her feel safe. She's experienced a trauma when she saw her sister taken before her eyes and when telling what she saw, nobody believed her. Ever since then she's used her art to express her feelings and made it her job to find her sister again.

While Trevor and Jenna slowly get closer, they also have to deal with some mystery stuff going on. When things get really dangerous, Trevor calls in the help of the whole team.

I loved how sweet and patient Trevor was with Jenna. He never once doubted she wasn't telling the truth about what she saw and supported her in every way. On the other hand it was really difficult for him to hide what he was, Jenna didn't even know her brother was exactly the same. When things get revealed, they very quickly get talked about. There no real drama between the MC's which I loved.

This was another great addition to the series and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Paige Tyler's SWAT stories are always so much fun. Now that she's opened her world to all sorts of paranormal creatures you never know what will show up. This time it's ghouls, though they are somewhat different than I pictured that creature in my mind. It also is a best friend's younger sister story. Jenna Malone is Connor's sister (from the previous book) and the SWAT team member Trevor McCall. Trevor takes a week's vacation to LA to visit Jenna and see if they do indeed have a connection. Trevor suspects she The One for him. Connor has told him to keep his hands off and Trevor knows that's not an option if she is his soul mate.

Jenna works in the special effects industry for movies and television. She's talented in sculpting and painting and creates horrible creatures for the movies. She started by modeling a creature that kidnapped her sister off the streets ten years ago. No one believed her story and art was her therapy to cope. She has since then looked faithfully for Hannah but only thought she spotted her once. Connor refuses to believe her so she goes it alone. Her favorite diner distributes meals to the homeless and Jenna does that while looking for her sister. When she and Trevor see a creature snatch a woman, Connor rescues the woman and chases after the beast. This begins a search for the kidnapped people and rooting out the creatures under the city.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced readers copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This story picks up directly after The Wolf is Mine: Connor’s sister Jenna came over and after a big fight with Connor, she stays over with Trevor, one of Connor’s teammates.

In Loving the Wolf we start when Trevor is asked to come over to Jenna. They have kept in contact after the whole fight with Connor and their friendship has grown over time. Knowing that Connor doesn’t want his sister in contact with werewolves, he has Hale cover for him. Because Trevor wants to check whether Jenna might be ‘the one’ for him, without his friend breathing down his neck. But while staying with Jenna they encounter a strange being, which is kidnapping people from Jenna’s neighborhood. And even more strange: Jenna has a replica of this monster at home, build from clay! When Jenna confides in him that her statue is build years ago, after the kidnapping of their sister Hannah, Trevor realizes there is something supernatural going on. Even more supernatural than werewolves!

Of course, this wouldn’t be a hunky SWAT story if there were actual hunky SWAT’s featuring in this story. So Paige indulges us, with bringing the pack in, to help Trevor and Jenna defeat their enemy. As always: fast- paced, suspense and love. What a great combination. Enjoy the (long) ride. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

This is book 14 in the Swat series and while it could be read as a standalone, I would at the very least read the book before this one. When you find your fated mate, don't let go… The problem with Jenna Malone is that she's werewolf Trevor McCall's best SWAT buddy's sister. Trevor suspects she's The One, but how the heck can he make a move? When Jenna invites Trevor to visit her in Los Angeles, he has his chance. But what's hiding in LA is much more dangerous and complicated than any of the SWAT team could have guessed, and Jenna's right in the middle of it.

I really enjoyed this one! Jenna is a strong character who isn't afraid to stand up for what she knows-even when people she loves keep telling her she is wrong. Trevor is sweet and protective, and knows Jenna is his one-and is willing to go against the "bro code" in order to have her. I didn't really like how Jenna's brother comes across in this book, which stinks because I liked him in the last book. But once he realizes how wrong he is about things that Jenna has been saying for years, he does redeem himself. There are twists with new monsters-but I enjoyed that this series is taking a turn and introducing more paranormals!

I don't read alot of paranormal titles these days, but this is one series that I like to read when I'm looking for something with a lot of action and I do love the fated mates element of this series. The author does a good job of keeping this long running series from getting stale or repetitive. In Loving the Wolf, there's a new threat in town and the SWAT wolfs are needed.

This was an easy read with plenty of tension-filled action, along with the whole bro-code of not dating your teammates sister. But what can you do when she's The One! Trevor is ready to do whatever he has to for his fated mate, including taking on her brother, who I though was a bit of a jerk in this book and the previous installment. No worries -- things do get worked out as part of the overall romance between Trevor and Jenna.

I loved the new monsters and the fight that the SWAT team had with them, although it seemed to be over too soon! The romance between Jenna and Trevor goes from zero to sixty quickly, but that was okay because that's part of the fated mates behavior. Loving the Wolf was just a whole lot of fun to read.

Overall, a quick, easy read with action, suspense and fated mates.

Wow! Action packed and full of emotion too!

Trevor goes to L.A. to visit his packmate's sister, Jenna. They had met when she came to Dallas to tell her brother Connor that she had seen their missing sister Hannah in Skid Row. Trevor thinks Jenna may be "The One" for him, but Connor thinks Jenna needs to be protected. So Trevor goes to L.A. in secret, until he sees a supernatural creature trying to kidnap a street person and finds out that is what took.Their sister all those years ago. Then Connor and a couple others come out to help figure out what is going on. There are a ton of twists and turns in this story.

The pace is breakneck and the tone is uncertain yet hopeful with an action and character oriented storyline that has some steamy scenes. The characters are vibrant and kickass. You do want to read these books in order if you can, but this is also a good introduction to Paige Tyler's work if you need it. If you like your shifter romances with heart-pounding adventure, vivid world-building and complex characters, then these are for you. Enjoy!

Thank you Netgalley and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the chance to read Loving the wolf (SWAT #14) by Paige Tyler. After meeting each other in The wolf is mine, Trevor heads off to LA to see if Jenna is really The One for him. Unfortunately, Jenna is the sister of Trevor's packmate Connor, who is not thrilled that Trevor wants to get close to Jenna. When Jenna and Trevor come across the supernatural creature that Jenna saw kidnap her sister, Trevor has no choice but to call his pack for help. 10 years ago, no one believed Jenna when she told her brother, parents and the police the creature that kidnapped Hannah. Now, it is back kidnapping other people off the street. Can they find Hannah?
This was a fast and fun read. As with the other books in the series, there is lots of action, suspense and sizzling romance! This could be read as a standalone, but you get lots of background reading the series in order.

Book 14 of the SWAT: Special Wolf Alpha Team series yet can stand alone. Forbidden love, best friend’s sister, shifters, mystery, danger and of course HEA.

Jenna is estranged from her brother since their sister disappeared years earlier. She went to visit him to ask for help finding their sister and while there she met Trevor. Trevor travels to California to visit and see if what they feel can work. In her quest to find her sister Jenna helps the homeless and becomes aware of several missing person cases. Join them in this fast paced story as they search Jenna’s sister and discover creatures nightmares are made of.

A definite page turner that has it all: attraction, danger, passion, strong friendships and family healing. I highly recommend it – you won’t regret it.

Thank you NetGalley, Paige Tyler and Sourcebooks Casablanca for the ARC of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
