What happens when destiny gets it wrong?

I’m a fae beast king. It’s preordained that I have to take a mate, and it can’t be just anyone. The universe will decide on my behalf. All I know is that my fated mate will be an enchantress of great power. And that when the universe chooses her for me…I must obey. To fight the calling will mean my demise. I have come to trust the process. The Great Unknown would never steer me wrong.
Then I find her! Gabriella is everything I thought she would be and more. Beautiful beyond compare, terrifying, all-powerful… Unfortunately, she’s also tainted by great evil. Her father put his dark magic into her, turning her into something twisted and wicked.
I embark on a mission with her twin sister, Fallon. Together, we’re going to save Gabriella. We’ll find a way to bring her back. We have to! Then I do something really stupid…I fall for the wrong sister. It happens without me even realizing it. The problem is that Fallon and I can never be together. Gabriella is my destiny. Apparently, the universe is an asshole!

“If I can’t save her. I can’t mate her, and if I don’t mate her, I will die.”

The following ratings are out of 5:
Romance: 🖤💙❤️
Heat/Steam: 🔥🔥🔥
Story/Plot: 📕📗📙
World building: 🌏🌍🌎
Character development: ☹️😮😋😉
Narrator(s): 🎙🎙🎙🎙
Narration type: Dual Narration

The Hero: Solstice (a.k.a. The Fae Beast King) - he immediately falls in love with Gabriella and knows that she is his destiny. Though she is certifiably insane, evil and cruel. He knows this all within minutes of meeting her. She is beautiful and terrifying and has dark magic within her. His magic is light and is nothing compared to the dark magic in Gabby.

The heroine: Fallon - she is a twin to Gabriella, their father Vale, is an evil sorcerer who put his dark magic into Gabriella and it has been destroying her from the inside out ever since. Gabby believes that everyone is out to steal her father’s magic from her. She nearly kills her cousin Bellicent, who is half vampire and engaged to Thane, best friend of Solstice.

The Story: Fallon is a hacker and cyber security specialist. She loves her twin sister, they live together in the house their mother left to them. Fallon wants to save her sister from the dark magic that is turning her into something awful. Both Fallon and Solstice believe their must be some way to save Gabby, and they decide to work together to help her. Solstice tells Fallon that he knows Gabby is his mate though they just met. He tells her that his kind know their fated mate(s) right away, that they can’t choose a match, it is shown to them by the universe.

I was a bit disappointed that right from the beginning, Solstice says that his kind are shown their matches, in that there can sometimes be more than one. I kind of knew where this was headed from that point. He said they usually don’t know for certain if someone is their fated mate until they do the deed, but in this case, he just knew that Gabriella was the one. He tells Fallon that he can take Gabby to his home, where she can be safe and not hurt others, while he tries to find a solution. Fallon will not agree unless she goes along. This story went pretty much as I expected, not many surprises, it was good, but not great.

This audiobook was told in multiple points of view and was narrated in dual narration by Tristan James and Meg Price. Meg has a terrific voice that I really like. She is expressive and sounds natural. Tristan James, is good, though he isn’t on my list as one of my favorite male narrators. His voice is kind of strange, though not bad. I usually like a deep voice for a male narrator, his isn’t super deep, though it does have a unique quality.

Ruin is the second fantastic book in The Beast King Brides series.

I am loving this series; it is full of drama, it is sexy, it is fun and it is full of paranormal romantic goodness. They are Kings, alpha males in all shapes and sizes with Vampires, Shifters, Elves and more. It is sexy, sizzling, smoking Hot, it jumps right off the pages and leaves you needing more.

They are looking for their mates what they find are sassy, headstrong females but not everything goes to plan. These men are ruthless power players but underneath it all are men who love fast, they love with their whole heart.

Charlene has woven a captivating, tangled web of lies, suspense, drama and love. The characters are to die for, and each have their own voice in this series. I love that we get their POV because it makes them more real.

There are plenty of witty moments and humour that will have you laughing out loud.

Another magical addition to series, wonderful characters and plot that is action filled
It is fair to say that even the unlikeliest of people can make mistakes, even if they have magic and should know everything this is not always the case and when this is so it can cause a great deal of confusion.
The Fae Beast King has to have a mate and usually it is believed that their fated mate will become apparent, the only detail he has is that she will be an enchantress of great power. When she is chosen for him, he knows that his life will change and that he will be expected to work alongside his mate.
Gabriella is a strength to be reckoned with, she is beautiful and her magical abilities ae staggering and the fact that she also has a twin sister Fallon who has caused agreed to help him to rid his mate of the evil spell their father hexed her with.
However, there is a great more going on here that he first realises and as the Fae Beast King if he is to save the both he has to discover the truth behind the hexed magic?
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.
I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.

Swoony🔥🔥

I have been waiting for Solstice's book and finally it was everything I expected and more. I couldn't help laugh like crazy along with Thane and Thor when he falls for the wrong sister.

I was eager to know how he would find his HEA with Fallon when his fated mate is Gaby. Fallon is the sweet and helpful twin who helped her half sister in the first book. It was great to know her. She is just as good as I knew she would be.

Their journey to save Gaby lead them to getting to know each other and falling in love. There were so many moments I couldn't help laugh and also were I couldn't control my emotions.

I was happy to get to know Thor a little bit more and Ax cracked me up. I cannot wait to read all of their books.

Hawt Ruin!

Second book in this series. It’s about Fallon & Solstice’s fated mates love story. She’s a freelance hacker that worked with the FBI as a cybercrime investigator & owns her own computer security firm biz. She has a twin sister named Gabrielle (Gaby). Gaby is everything that Fallon isn’t or so she thinks. It isn’t until all Hell breaks lose one day & into her life walks Solstice & Thor. Not THAT Thor! Thor is a dragon shifter beastmaster king (yeah a mouthful). This book is HAWT! The story spicy & sweet, kinda like a great Szechuan Chinese dish but with a great ending! It’s a cliff hanger, which I usually can’t tolerate, but I can’t wait to read the next book to see what & how the story unfolds for Thor! Highly recommend!

Ruin😈

Solstice finds his fated mate at the end of the first book, but Gaby is on the path to becoming an evil sorceress due to her fathers magic that he bequeathed her😢 Fighting against all odds and a time constraint, Fallon and Solstice undertake a mission to save Gaby, which in turn will also save Solstice from the “madness”❣️

Unfortunately, fate is a cruel beast and somehow, someway feelings between this pair develop😳 I enjoyed getting to know a few of the other characters and I look forward to seeing who is next on the path of destiny to find their mate and escape their madness. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️

This was a very well written story with a great storyline! Fantastic story and series and I can’t wait for Thor’s story next! Amazing read that I very highly recommend! Ruin...

The Beast King Brides book 2. I had a love/hate with this book. It's not as good as the 1st book but it has some great moments. It's also has good characters. Solstice story. As he searches for a bride. He runs into Gabby who is filled with black magic from her father. In the battle he feels she is his mate. However he is also connected to her twin Fallon. There is lots of twist in this storyline. There is a lot A bit of nonsense in the plot that makes the book drag on at times. A crazy, dramatic, angsty read. I'm not sure I want to read onto the next book, but I've loved Thor since book one. So read on I will.

a little cheesy but good

Well written and easy to read. Some parts were a little cheesy and a tad unbelievable, but the overall story was good. The characters were okay, I wasn’t into the MMC all that much, he wasn’t a retriever and wasn’t morally grey he was this weird neutral that I had a hard time wrapping my head around. He wasn’t necessarily weak, but he also didn’t seem super powerful either. I guess I just like the MMC’s to be more of whatever it is they are. He just felt flat. The FMC was sweet and very likable. I enjoyed her POV a lot. The spicy scenes were just okay, there were only a couple and they didn’t overtake the whole plot. Overall it was a good read.

We meet Solstice in the first Beast Kings book and he finds his mate, Gaby. So, I thought I knew for sure what would happen in the next book, but boy was I wrong! Solstice needs to bond with his true mate or he will go crazy and be put down. This is the fate of all Beast Kings. Unfortunately, Gaby seems to be somewhat possessed and has no desire to change it. Gaby's slightly awkward and less attractive twin helps Solstice try and save her. Solstice is such a sweet man, its hard to imagine him with Gaby. But maybe opposites attract? This book is surprising, sexy, dangerous and I loved it!!!

Loved it!!!! So good!

I couldn’t put this book down!!! I loved it so much. It was completely different to the first book in this series, yet it was correlated and everything tied into it. It was so so good! I loved Fallon and Solstice! They were so cute together! I love how they finally got together. I can’t wait to read Thor’s book, though. I know it’s going to be amazing. This series is wonderful and I’m really loving the beast kings and their queens! I’m excited for the next book! I highly recommend this book!

Not as good as first book

I really liked the first book, THIRSTY, so great expectations for RUIN. Fell short and was a tad bit ridiculous in places. Also, the drama was a little lacking, considering the hot guy who was supposed to be a beast king acts really tame most of the time. Gaby was off the charts through most of the book. The ending didn't really match up to the development. It was a good story plot, but it could have been better. Yeah, I think I will read the next book, hopefully it will be better.

Another fun story

Although the plot was totally predictable, I'll forgive it because the main characters are adorable, and it set the stage for the next installment to be more exciting. Ms. Hartnady drew these two lovers too kindly for there to be any true impediments to their bond. Neither could experience an epiphany, since both were already the foils for the less agreeable characters. I am waiting to find out whether Gaby was truly redeemed, because she and Tassos seemed like a match made in aitch-ee-double-hockey-sticks. On to the next in the series!

This is the second book in the series & I thought the first one was gripping but this one is even better.
Solstice meets his mate in the first book but who would have imagined how complex it would all become. Once again the characters are all exciting & strong with the storyline moving very fast.
This is a great read & once again I’m left waiting for the final book.
I was lucky enough to be given an ARC of this book but it was a very easy 5 stars from me

Fallon and Solstice's story is an amazing second story to The Beast Kings series! When Solstice's meets his mate Gaby she is being overtaken by a powerful magic. Gaby's sister Fallon agrees to help Solstice help save Gaby! But it's not straight forward as it seems and there are a few intriguing details that keep you glued to the story til the end! I loved watching the development of the characters! This book was HOT in all the right ways!

Book two is good too for the beast King

This is book two and the story of Bells’ half sisters. Gabriella and Fallon with the beast King Solace. It’s a sweet romantic story of King Solace who thinks that he has found his soulmate in one sister but actually through the trials and tribulations of trying to help Gabriella, the King finds that he is drawn to the quirky behavior of the twin Fallon. It’s a cute romantic story. Read On!

another fun read

Light hearted and fun read, I know a lot of reviews say they preferred the first book but I thought this one was better. I enjoyed the first book but the writing quality is better in this book. The storyline is there, not too deep but enjoyable. The characters are likeable, not really any plot twists but I did like how it links nicely to what will be the next book. Not a 5* but a good 4*. I look forward to reading the next in the series.

not as good as the first book.

3 stars. Not nearly as good as the first book. A bit predictable…pretty sure WE all knew the greatness (lol) was gonna steal the stone-not sure how the fae “beast king”didn’t see that one. Also, he wasn’t much of a king in my opinion. I didn’t quite feel the connection between the MCs either…BUT The twin witches/sorcerers whatever they were & the dealing with their dad made a good storyline.
Overall: it was just ok.

Good book.

I have mixed feelings about this one. Loved the first book, but this one was little bit… I don’t know how to say it, boring? Missing something? Naive at some point? The First book I couldn’t put down, but this second one didn’t get me to pick up the book and be exited about it.

It is very well-written, good lovestory, littlebit spice 🌶️/2, good humor and nice characters.

Let see what happens in book 3.

This book was so good, captivating and fun. But that ending! Like come on. I feel like we didn’t learn nearly enough about the fae and him as a king or his people or the FMC as a witch or what her powers are or even if they are truly mated! I feel like this would have been a 4-4.5 stars with like 5 more chapters. I’m left wanting and sad that this couple won’t be in the spotlight for more info. Overall would still recommend reading it for sure.

Well my first thought is Tassos, what a double play but at the same time what a hero!!
My heart broke during this one, poor Fallon, I can’t imagine the pain of falling in love with the man fated for her sister. The angst and drama were fantastic and as always a happy ever after. I even loved Gaby in the end!! I received an ARC and this is my honest opinion.

it was Enh

I enjoy her books a lot but I felt as if the story started of really good, but got kind of random towards the end. It ended kind of weird to me. I really enjoyed the playfulness of the characters and found Fallon funny. I just feel like there was a few areas this story could have meshed better.

Sol and fallon

Well this story had a twist it starts of going back in time a little when sol first met gaby evil version. At first I was worried it would be a having two mates twin sister bond. (I find them creepy with sisters) plus not a fan of HR.lucky it did not go that direction

Better than I thought

I first started reading and felt a bit 'meh' about it.

But then I got into this book and even though I could kind of see where it was going, I began to enjoy it
I ended up smiling like an idiot by the end 😊

I guess if you finish a book with a smile on your face, it's a good sign and definitely worth at least 4 stars

Love it

This is a great romance with mystery, intrigue and laughter. It also flows right into the next story.
The only thing is that there is no way she could pull out that breathing tube without doing damage to her throat because of the balloon inflated- I know I am being picky. Still a great story
