Bound together by a brand… Kept apart by the unyielding rules of the Pack. My foster brother, Nick and I are destined to be Fated Mates But when his Beast comes out on the night my NEED is on me Will we commit an unforgivable sin together?
Being an orphan is tough…going through the foster care system is even tougher. I never would have made it through without my foster brother, Nick Callahan, to guide and protect me. But Nick and I have a troubled past. See, he’s full-blooded Were and I’m half Were and back before our fathers died, they swore an oath to be blood brothers and had both Nick and I branded to prove that we were family.
Nick and I went our separate ways after we got out of the system, but I made the mistake of going back to my hometown of Wolverton on the night of the Open Breeding. And who should be there but Nick—my foster brother and protector and the one and only man I’ve ever really loved. But we’re forbidden to be together—the same brands that mark us as “family” keep us forever apart.
And there’s another problem—Nick has a secret, one he’s been keeping from me for years. You see, he’s not a normal Were—he doesn’t shift into a wolf. Instead, he has a beast inside, half man/half wolf—an eight foot tall monster that hungers for me just as much as Nick does. Now I must choose between my foster brother and breaking the Unbreakable Laws of the pack. But under the full moon when his beast comes out and the Breeding Fever makes me crazy with need and desire, will I really have a choice? You’ll have to read The Brand that Binds, book two in the Forbidden Omegaverse series to find out…
Author’s Warning: STOP! If I am an auto-buy author for you, please read this before you buy. This book needs all the trigger warnings. It has the death of parents, (although that happens off-screen, so to speak) childhood trauma within the foster system, and some near-misses with assault. If you have a history of any of these things, you might find this book upsetting. You should also be warned that this is a Shifter book and some things happen in Fur Form that you might find disturbing. Again, if this kind of thing upsets or offends you then please, DON’T BUY THIS BOOK! I want all my readers to be happy and feel like their money is well-spent when they buy my books. So please buy and read responsibly and don’t say I didn’t warn you—this one gets DARK. Hugs and Happy Reading! Evangeline
Evangeline Anderson is a registered MRI tech who would rather be writing. And yes, she is nerdy enough to have a bumper sticker that says “I’d rather be writing.” Honk if you see her! She is thirty-something and lives in Florida with a husband, a son, and two cats. She had been writing erotic fiction for her own gratification for a number of years before it occurred to her to try and get paid for it. To her delight, she found that it was actually possible to get money for having a dirty mind and she has been writing paranormal and Sci-fi erotica steadily ever since.
~ Pseudo siblings ~ H abandons h ~ breeding, dub con ~ Fun Fur times
☑️ depictions of SA and attempted SA ☑️ child abuse, starvation ☑️ death of parents
✨ no ow drama, cheating, mm, sharing
It’s hard to find books with this particular trope, fun times in shifted form, so while I thought too much time was spent in the past foster home and the H drove me a little crazy with his constant denial and abandonment of h after waxing poetic about never leaving her, I’m going to give this higher marks than I would if it had been a no shifter fun times book. Those scenes were so 🔥🥵.
I really enjoyed this book, liking it more than book 1, which I read right before this one. Normally, I don't like flashbacks, but I thought the long flashback to the past was the most interesting part of the story. Reading about Kira's experience in the horrible foster system was gripping. I liked the relationship she developed with Nick and how he cared for her and protected her. I'm sure there are some foster homes that resemble the one she was in, even though this is a work of fiction.
Please don't read this book if the idea of bestiality (Nick accidentally takes her in his wolf form) disgusts you. I'm glad Evangeline Anderson went there because it was interesting.
Not my favourite one in the series so far but not bad, I always really enjoy Evangeline’s writing and the smut is always 👩🍳 🤌🏻🤌🏻 (despite being a little repetitive) I like the story and I like how easy it is to read this authors books, I started in the middle of the series and it’s all so easy to understand. I didn’t mind the characters in this one but I didn’t love them like I have some of her other characters. As morbid as this sounds I really enjoyed reading the hell they went through with their foster family and it really made me feel for the inevitable situation the two were in. It was so heart wrenching to read the abuse the 2 suffered at the hands of others.
The main thing that stopped me from fully enjoying this was the fact that the heroine was basically constantly desperate for the hero who constantly would push the heroine away, there was a point where I was just like girl your embarrassing me by embarrassing urself. The heroine had wanted the hero since childhood and fully came into him multiple times while they were teenagers, the hero constantly kept her at a distance and then things happened and the hero abandoned the heroine for 10 urs, cutting off all contact. Then 10 years later the two reunite and they aren’t together for more than 10 minutes before the heroine is trying to make out with him and I was just like “he abandoned you for 10 years after swearing an oath that he wouldn’t and ur already trying to jump his bones.. 🙄🙄 stop. And then speaking of oath the hero couldn’t keep his word to save his life, I might be a jaded hoe in saying this but I’d you make a promise keep it! If there are any circumstances aside from death that would keep you from fulfilling this promise then don’t make it! And he did not once but TWICE! Two times he broke the same promise he kept giving and each time the heroine chased him back, needless to say it was annoying!
Overall this wasn’t a bad read there were parts I liked and parts I didn’t. I’m still glad I read this and I’m still looking forward to reading more in this series
Simply spectacular second book in this moving series, highly recommend reading
From start to finish once I began reading this book, I found it impossible to put down once I started, the characters and the situation of the book was such a well thought and had been so wonderfully written. As an orphan’s life had never been easy for anyone but at least she had been with her foster brother who had made her life bearable, without Nick she knew that she would have thrown in the towel.
Nick Callahan is full blooded Were and they had sworn to be blood brothers even though he had only been half Were and they had proudly worn their brand on their skin so that there was no doubt to their family. When they meet again in their hometown it is open breeding and even though they had been forbidden to be together had allowed their wildness to take over.
However, there is a fairly major secret that has been hidden by Nick and now that they once again come together in every way possible it is apparent that he is in fact no normal Were, he is over eight feet tall in beast form. The Breeding Fever is making him more than crazy and, in all honesty, it has only confirmed the desire and need she’s always had for her foster brother.
I assure you that you will be blown away by this book and all that this pair have been through, it has only made them stronger and loyal to each other.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read. I voluntarily received and review an Advanced Reader Copy I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all the great writing.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I was so looking forward to reading this, mostly because I enjoy this author, but also because of the controversary surrounding this book. The reasons given in the controversary - the "taboo subject" of steps/fosters having a relationship - I believe to be ridiculous. Though narrowed minded people find this kind of relationship taboo, there is no common blood, so there is really nothing wrong with it. It happens all the time in the real world. However, and Ms Anderson does give a very strong warning about potential triggers, I cannot continue reading the foster care experiences. I know they happen. It is sad. But, today, I am not in a place to be able to read about it as entertainment. I will have to come back to it another time when I can better process. This is my bad. I had no idea I would trigger. Evangeline Anderson will remain a favorite author. I love her stories, usually, and I commend her for addressing touchy issues. I am okay with having bought a book I cannot read at this time and will continue to support her efforts. Ms Anderson, you keep writing, I will keep reading.
Fated mates, you always know there is going to be a catch when the words fated mates are used. It can never be as simple as finding your fated mate, falling madly in love and living happily ever after. The scenario is made worse when your fated mate is your step sibling. Nick Callahan is the alpha werewolf shifter, but not an ordinary one; a huge cursed werewolf that is not only a force to be reckoned with but shunned by many too. Kira O'Shea is just trying to live her life and only has to live by one thing; always look out for her step brother. Nick and Kira's fathers became blood brothers so that they could co lead their packs and therefore Kira and Nick were branded siblings. Kira and Nick ended up living in the foster system after a tragedy occurred with their fathers and once of age Nick left and they havent seen each other again for many reasons. One faithful night brings Nick and Kira back together again and now its time to find out where they stand with each other and whether the cursed wolf can be loved.
The Brand That Binds is book 2 in the Forbidden Omegaverse series, and it can be read as a complete standalone.
This is yet another forbidden stepsibling romance. There is no blood relation between Nick and Kira, but they are bonded as pack siblings. In this case, Nick and Kira are separated and reunited twice—the first time as teenagers in foster care and the second time as adults when Kira gets abducted.
I was a huge fan of the heroine right away. She was so self aware and kept berating herself for making the stupid decision of coming back to her childhood small town. Her self awareness made her smart, especially compared to the other heroines of this series lol.
I had a good time reading this smutty romance. My only complaint is that the author went into too much detail when describing the abuse that Kira and her foster siblings endured at the hands of their foster parents. It made me sooo uncomfortable and angry. I was here for a good smutty time. I didn't sign up for the detailed abuse 😭
The Brand That Binds: Book 2 in the Forbidden Omegaverse series - Evangeline Anderson
Two wolf shifter families Fathers make a pact to become brothers before tragedy hits and the son and daughter are separated and orphaned. Nick is a full blooded Were and is forbidden to be mated with Kira as they are considered siblings even though they technically are not. The punishment by the pack could be death. Kira ends up back at the pack on the night of the “open breeding” which leads to many dilemmas for NIck and Kira. The story is exciting, emotional and suspenseful, passion and love, excitement and danger and as always wonderful scenes that are very “Seggie and oh so h@t”. The author does has a warning in the beginning of the book which those who are sensitive should follow but I found the hard scenes and MFC and MMC were all safe in the end and the riveting story was an awesome read. I highly recommend diving into this new original series by this amazing wonderful author.
Kira and Nicks story has a taboo element to it that I have never encountered before. But it was so well written and I knew that I would not have an issue with it before starting. Since , from past experience with shifter books, I knew that Nick would be aware of what he was doing while in animal form. I loved all aspects of the story. Some were harder to read due to the content but the author did a great job in how she handled them. I REALLY wanted to mutilate one character with my bare hands but , as expected, the author took care of that person beautifully. Hands down, even though I loved the entire story, that moment was one of my favorite parts. hot sexy times were off the charts as well. I am not going to say any more in fear that I'll give away too much. I received an A advanced Readers Copy for my honest review.
The author did have a small blip but really it was not enough.
I also found myself rolling my eyes a bit about all the ways the main characters love interest managed to stop the abuse. Because I feel like the foster parent could have easily found a way or somehow caged the love interest. Don’t get me wrong I didn’t want the character to be abused but it was still a bit unbelievable for me.
I also feel like the world building was a bit low on this and that the overall quality just wasn’t there.
Along with repeated phrases like “piggy eyes.” and cringy “darling.”
I use to really enjoy this Author but I feel like the quality of books has REALLY gone down over the last decade I’ve been reading them
Reading all the warnings, I thought oh no please let me like this story. Well I must say this author never disappoints and wrote it so well that I wasn't grossed out...well maybe a little for a short scene. I read on my daily train commute and nearly missed my stop, couldn't wait for lunch time to read some more. This story and the characters really grabbed my attention and wouldn't let go. The story bounced a little between timelines so we can see what happened in their childhood. They are were and quite a bit special, there is danger all around them and you'll be hoping for a rescue and safe outcome. All I can say is what a riveting story with awesome characters this book was, I highly recommend it.
This book throws you into the excitement right away, I was immediately hooked. The timeline then changes to give all the backstory, which I felt was a really good way to tell this story. This story is more of a slow burn romance and really plot heavy, but if you’re looking for spice -don’t worry- it comes! And all that storyline and anticipation makes it ohhh soo good!
Both Nick and Kira were great characters that I really resonated with. The way Nick calls Kira “ darlin’ “ made me swoooon. The little Easter egg about the royal weres, referring to His Omega’s Keeper, made me happy.
This book covers some dark topics and has taboo themes, so be sure to read the content warning if you have any triggers.
This book is HARD to read. There's so much trauma and abuse for the 1st 2/3rds that it nearly made me decide to stop reading.
It's a big departure from both the 1st and 3rd books in the series. I ended up reading this out of order due to library hold times.
The constant repetition of "not being able" to break the unbreakable laws, while breaking them is annoying.
I do have to say the pay off, if you will, is quite hot 🔥 🥵 and IMO the three books in this series all were ultimately worth the investment. 😉
Triggers: all of them? Parents are murdered, rape off page secondary character, physical, emotional, and sexual abuse of minors, kidnapping (unlawful arrest?), "incest" (but you picked a taboo book, so...). There are probably some I'm missing.
This story is about two characters that came together in childhood and formed a strong bond, that was tested over time. Kira is very strong and has had to overcome many obstacles with the help of Nick, who is always trying to look out for her. After many years of separation, they find on another again, but their struggles are not over. Nick has his own issues to deal with with in their relationship, but Kira won't give up on him. As always with Evangeline's book, we have a hot hero and some steamy, sexy moments.

Very hot not-really-related story. When I read stepsibling or adopted sibling romance its not the incest-lite I enjoy its the connection the two usually share either physically cuz they screwed before they knew or emotionally cuz they care for each other. I actually get annoyed because there's always at least one of the main couple constantly saying "we shouldn't do this its wrong blah blah blah" again and again and I'm just like "if you two don't stop protesting and do the deed already!" I also like the submissive element to Nick and Kira's first time "connecting". I find those scenarios very dirty and hot.
Nick and Kira’s story is filled with a painful past marred by loss and assaults and cruelty. Ms. Anderson includes an “Author’s Warning” and for those reader’s who have experienced childhood trauma, it is a warning to take seriously. However, as with all her books, Ms. Anderson handles the darkness as gently as possible and the “nastiness” is central to the story. I can’t say that I enjoyed this story but it was definitely worth a read.

Kira and Nick met and had a special connection since early childhood. Time and circumstance had them cross paths as they endure hard times and unimaginable cruelty, surviving as they developed an unbreakable link between them. Old laws with deadly results could possibly destroy what fate won't deny. Can Nick and Kira find a way to start a life together or will it be doomed before it can begin? Very intense page turner! I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book.
This story is filled with action and I loved how protective Nick was with Kira. But my heart broke for them with everything they had to endure. With so much more but since I don't do spoilers. All I can say is what a fantastic read with awesome characters. I received a free copy via Booksprout and as always my reviews are totally voluntarily and no monetary compensation was received and the opinions I have expressed are completely my own.
Second in the series. This series is different from what the author normally writes so expect some pretty intense scenes. Please be aware that the main two characters are not related but are pseudo-siblings. A branding was done as children that was to connect them as family. The werewolf story has some pretty insane/intense scenes. The character of Kira will go through a lot and it shows the true strength of her character. Nick is definitely the protector and will do anything to keep her safe.
I enjoyed reading this book 📚 very much. I liked the two main characters ver much in this book 📚. I got confused about the wolf 🐺 bit's and brand's and the conical bit's too, but later on after finishing the book 📚 I felt better about the book 📚. I wanted Kira' and Nick to move very far away from they problems aboard more. I look forward to reading more books by Evangeline soon. I liked the sex scenes again and liked the idea about the submission and submitting too. 😀
I really like this series so far. I didn't enjoy this one as much as the first but it was still a good read. I never felt that the MMC loved the MFC as much as she loved him. He seemed more distant to me. Plus we don't get the POV from the MMC which would have probably helped with knowing how he actually felt.
The spice is always a must for the books I read and this one had plenty of it. Evangeline Anderson writes amazing spice!!
This story has different views and rituals on werewolf's (can't tell about them because that would be spoiling the story). This story is filled with action and the interaction between the characters is wonderful. I can't wait for more from this author. I received this book as a FREE ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
This isn't my usual from Evangeline Anderson but I didn't mind it. It was a good read but be mindful it's a little darker than normal Evangeline Anderson books and I tend to like her books that are a little less dark.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I love Evangeline Anderson but something was missing in this book that I really needed. I read and read and it felt like the world building was weak, the plot was weak, the characterization was lacking and it just wasn't going anywhere. Sometimes if you just stick with a book, it will pick up at the end and redeem itself. That didn't happen here. It felt like a hot mess and it hurt my heart.
This wasn't the genre I would usually read but this author never disappoints. Well written and great story . I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and would recommend you read it. Story about trials, love loss and coming together in the end. Brilliant.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I loved Nick and Kira's love story! They both went through a lot growing up, but finally found each other. I also liked that the enemy got it in the end! This is a very good book that I'm sure all will enjoy! Thanks, Ms. Anderson for another good book!
I really enjoyed this new book series. Great steamy love scenes. I was entertained from the first couple of chapters I was so invested into the story and I am happy with how well the book turned out great book can't wait for the next book into the series.
