Black Light Cured was an absolute pleasure to read, I could not put this book down, I had to see what happened to this couple. And my goodness it was delicious and so very hot!
Master Aiden has put his foot in his mouth with his outdated belief's of other's who practice holistic medicine when he assumed he would be getting a "happy ending" but Lila sets him straight and very diplomatically lets him know that her degree is just as good as his degree as an orthopedic surgeon.
This couple bounces back and forth, Aiden dealing with his past, Lila dealing with her exhaustion of sharing her healing to others, but together they connect in a spiritual and blissful way.
Truly loved this story!💖

Alphahole meets his match…in a delightful sub named Lila in Vivian Murdoch’s Cured. I have to admit that I had mixed emotions while reading this book. Master Aiden is the epitome of egotistical surgeon. Seriously! I’ve met a few over the years and as much as I’m glad that they’re so good at their job and I’d want to use them, at the same time, their bedside manner has me wanting to throat punch them. I feel the same exact way about Master Aiden. He was absolutely infuriating most of the time and I adored how Lila managed to unintentionally thwart him simply by being herself. Since this is a Black Light book, I loved how we got to see many of the other characters and their absolute support for Lila in all things. And of course, we have their activities (sanitized for review purposes), which were amazing, hawt, and will be reread again and again (fans self).

Aiden and Lila
I almost didn't finish this because Aiden was so egotistical , condescending and mean- spirited for most of the book.He was unfairly judgemental of Lila's profession and massively rude.Towards the end he had a change of heart,but he was too unlikeable to give this a better rating.

I love the Black Light universe, but not this book
Perhaps I am picky, but the typo on the first page got me off to a bad start. Then the typos and grammatical errors kept coming. I'm not an English teacher, I promise, but I am well read. I find these kind of errors happening more and more often. No doubt this needed another set of eyes before going public.
Lila and Aiden play well together. They do not seem to come together as a couple; they don't talk well together. Of course he's a surgeon and they are not known for doing anything other than telling others what to do and being listened to and obeyed. Surgeons make perfect Doms!
When Aiden leaves DC for a new job he tells Lila by leaving in the middle of the night and leaving her a letter on her pillow. No breakup is as thoughtless as when Carrie Bradshaw receives a break up post it note on Sex in the City.
When Aiden returns to DC it's because he realizes he misses her. One of the other Black Light Doms has to tell him he loves her. That's how I found out he loves her, too. Ms. Murdoch gave me no hints that their relationship was growing into love, I only saw sexual compatibility. I did not see respect, especially not respect for their professional accomplishments.
All's well that ends well. Lila agrees to move to Texas with Aiden. Aiden collars Lila. HEA, the end.
I have discovered many new authors from within the Black Light universe. Ms. Murdoch is not among them. I will read other reviews to see what others thought. Perhaps I can see what others found and learn from them.

Doesn't feel like the high caliber of other Blacklight books
Aiden is totally unlikable until the very last few pages of the book. It would have been better to see more of his new outlook after he had his epiphany. Words are meaningless without corroborating evidence by actions. After the horrific way he treated Lila for the vast majority of this book, and the way he belittled and denigrated her choice of career, much more should have been shown about his supposed redemption

Black Light: Cured - 4 Stars
I’ll start by saying this is only the 2nd of VM’s books I’ve read. Aiden is arrogant and at times I wanted to smack the heck out of him. He’s an @$$ and knows it. Lila is the picture of a people pleaser. Sometimes even to her detriment. I’m going to have to split my review into 2 different aspects.
First off this one started out slow for me and I got aggravated quite a bit but I pushed through and am so glad I did. The story hooked me and wouldn’t let go. Their chemistry is off the charts and we got a glimpse into a new dynamic which I absolutely loved and wanted more of.
Now for the part that bothered me. There were a couple things that seemed off when it came to being a Black Light book. It didn’t have that feel to me and I caught a couple things that felt like inconsistencies with the Black Light world.
With all that being said I really did enjoy the book and wish we could have gotten a deeper, more in depth view into Aiden and Lila’s dynamic and scenes/relationship.

Was this one rollercoaster of emotions! Aiden got me heated more often than not, and not just because of the bedroom skills. He is arrogant and at times I had a hard time liking him but I loved Lila and their chemistry was definitely off the charts!

I am not sure this particular Black Light story was for me. I am a firm believer in not being condescended to or having a shallow, arrogant male talk badly about something time and effort went into. Respect is essential (unless you have a humiliation or other kink). Lila's continued description as "curvy" felt forced. I didn't get the sense that she was "overweight" or above in any of the scenes. I don't feel that Aiden was redeemable, no matter what happened in the past/present to make him that way. I also didn't enjoy the repetitive verbiage and non-communication between the couple. As other reviews have stated, multiple exposures to "dress/undress", "set-up/take-down", and questioning of intelligence made it difficult to finish. While I have read others of V.M's work, this one just falls below being an enjoyable read. As I will not put a lower review on a story the first week of release, I waited until it had been out for a week to review. This is only my opinion - please form your own.

This book was a really enjoyable story.
Total opposites that somehow Ms. Murdoch made fit perfectly.
I adored Lila. She’s sweet and kind. Pure hearted and hates letting people down.
Being so accommodating usually comes at the expense of her own self.
Fudge face Aiden is of a single mind and this leads him to thinking he’s always right.

I'ts been a long time since I have been angry enough to clip some unsuspecting head with my poor, innocent tablet!
Honestly, to hear this narrow minded genius spew his unsolicited venom...
And still there is a brave woman, proud of her accomplishments but, as many, deprecatingly neglecting herself.
When those two clash, sparks are flying. The dichotomy of instant, visceral connection and professional disdain is hard to watch at times.
But do watch!
Because Ms Murdoch makes the outcome worth it!

I've read various reviews for this book, some for and against and I'll admit, this one is a bit different from your usual Black Light book - but sometimes change is a good thing. The first 30% or so of this book, I like many struggled with the alphahole that is Master Aiden but I hate to not finish a book so I muddled through and have to say, I'm glad I did. I highly recommend you do too as you won't be sorry!
There really is more to Aiden than the alphahole we see in the beginning and I love how truly caring he is when he is in play despite, or more so because of his sadistic nature. Is he the usual Dominant we have come to expect from a Black Light book without being the baddie of the book, no, but that doesn't mean his and Lila's story isn't a good one. I was falling so deeply for their story that the part with a letter brough me to tears - of frustration, sadness and profound loss at what was and could have been.
I haven't come across Vivian Murdoch before and can't say I'm a massive fan of the alphahole themes she likes to write but this one is genuinely a good one and well written that despite the rough start, I will explore more by her in the future. I think we've all become Black Light snobs and like our kink to follow a set theme in this series but Vivian treads into greys that like to push boundaries with her characters and I applaud her for that. Not every kink is created equally and neither is how people see the world and what makes Aiden so brilliantly written is that he learns from his mistakes and so this is why it is a fab addition to Black Light. One not to miss.

This was my first Black Light book, I hadn't heard of the series until I found out Vivian was being included. I am a big fan of Vivian's darker books, so if you are expecting what we usually get from Viv this is barely grey. That being said, I loved this book. I loved learning about different kinks within the BDSM world and I loved the Black Light family. I will be reading the other books in this series as well. Aiden is your typical alpha hole with a god complex, Vivian does a nice job of humbling him over the course of the book but there are definitely times you wish someone would knock him down a peg. Sweet Lila, her submissive nature is often times to her detriment, I loved everyone sticking up for her but she really needed to stand up for herself. I loved that Aiden saw that too, even if he wasn't very good at helping her see that. Her passion for her profession and need to stand up against Aiden when he belittled her field, were some of the most fun scenes for me. The HEA at the end was beautiful with Aiden finally showing Lila how much she means to him. Can't wait to read the rest of the books all the ones that come next!

Cured is about a narcissistic surgeon and a sweet massage therapist finding common ground.
I tried really hard to give this one a shot, but it was a miss for me. Lila's character was relatable - harried, underpaid professional trying to live her best life and ignore the haters. Whether or not you think holistic medicine is beneficial or not, she was relatable and genuine.
Enter the haters, aka Aiden. Aiden was shallow and his character fell flat. He was the bad guy in this story and I found myself gritting my teeth through his inner monologues, or rather poor justifications for his actions. He needs to see a mental health professional, not take care of a submissive.
Unfortunately, he did not have a good redemption arch and there were no warm fuzzies with this pairing. Just seems like pain and heart ache are in their future without some serious psychiatric interventions on his part.
Also, I felt like the holistic vs scientific issue was mentioned in such a repetitive manner that it detracted from the story.

Black Light: Cured is the latest installment in the series. There are a lot of books, but they are all standalones so don’t be intimidated that there are over 30 books. Also, since there are many authors writing in this series there is a lot of variety so you will definitely find something you like. That being said, this one was more middle of the road for me. Aiden is an arrogant surgeon who really wants to get to know and play with Lila after seeing her in Black Light. That is until he learns that she is a Message Therapist and that isn’t good enough for him. Aiden takes some time to warm up to and you will probably not like him at first, but don’t worry, by the end he does improve. Lila on the other hand is someone that you immediately are cheering for. Overall, it was a good story and I did want to see how their story ended.

I need to be able to root for the couple in order to actually enjoy a romance novel but in this case I was only rooting for Lila to realize that she deserves so much better than an arrogant, egotistical surgeon. The thing is I don't think Aiden was completely irredeemable, I just don't think that the author took enough time to make his redemption arc believable or like it was warranted. There were so many times where I thought, "this is when he'll finally get it," only for him to further bury his head in the sand and double down on his position. I think I could have enjoyed this book if only more time was given to Aiden's growth as a character and definitely more time spent on his grovelling. I was just left thinking "fuck this guy, Lila deserves so much better" which doesn't make an enjoyable ending to any romance novel.

Amazing...A must read..
A typical Black Light story with lots of steamy and fascinating scenes. Master Aidan sees something special in Lila but when he finds out she is just a Massage Therapist, he uses this to hit on her and her profession. Within one hour, Master Aidan has done what only Ethan O'Dowell has ever done and that is to have the whole of the Black Light patrons against him. Therein starts a battle of wills and lots of misunderstandings between them...I hate reading misunderstandings...lol. I was sad to read that a lover of romance felt inclined to state that this book was written because of friendships and not ability. Please enjoy this author's books as she is indeed an awesome author of various types of genres.

Aidan and Lila's story is an interesting new addition to the Black Light series of books. The premise is a great one, with Aidan as the arrogant surgeon and Lila as the more down to earth massage therapist and how much Aidan looks down on and misunderstands the help her work can bring. He was a hard character to like, but then good characters are often not likable characters. I enjoyed watching the dawning realization and the build between him and Lila as the story progressed, and of course, those smexy times as well which the author is talented at crafting. It was a bit harder to read in the beginning but as I dug in I couldn't put it down, wanting to see how things went and I was not disappointed.

I love the Black Light series, and I love Vivian Murdoch. This story is quite different from her usual stuff - not nearly as dark, but still a great read. I really loved Lila as a character. She's sweet, down to earth, and open. Aiden is a narcissistic a-hole of the first order. I hated him throughout most of the story. Their interactions were a lot of opposite attract back and forth type stuff, but they couldn't deny there chemistry. Luckily, Aiden redeemed himself in the end and I enjoyed it.
Ms. Murdoch's writing style is fantastic. She puts a lot of effort into character and setting detail, and I feel like I learn things as I enjoy her stories. It was interesting to see what she could do with a non-dark romance, and I was very pleased.

I am a huge fan of the Black Light series and have absolutely loved every story I read to date! I love Lila’s dedication to her career and patients that makes her a well sought after person at Black Light when she has times for massages. With that said, Aiden is someone you will want to hate over his preconceptions about Lila’s career, and definitely want to Gibb-slap him a few times through the story. But Aiden and Lila together equals some truly awesome scenes that will leave you wondering how Aiden could ever do what he does. Will Aiden get his act together to love the best thing that ever happened to him? You have to read to find out and don’t plan on putting the book down until you turned the last page!

Black Light: Cured is the newest installment in the BL series. This book was good. Aiden is an orthopedic surgeon who really wants to get to know and play with Lila after seeing her in Black Light. What puts him off his game is that she is a Message Therapist. Let's just say that their relation has a rocky start.
Aiden is definitely a character that takes some time to warm up to. He will probably put you off right away but give him some time and you will see that he can grow and admit his mistakes. Lila is someone that you just want to uplift and support and cheer for.

This is the latest book in the Black Light series and like all of the others can be read completely as a standalone. Let me preface my review by saying that humiliation kink is not for me. Right from the start I had trouble accepting Aiden. It's not even that I didn't like his kink - it was his god-complex which can be fairly common amongst medical specialists. I liked Lila but didn't feel that Aiden respected her enough throughout the book. There were instances and he does redeem himself, somewhat, before he manages to almost wreck it again. Like all Black Light books, regardless of the author, this was a well-written, well crafted story that drew me in, but ultimately I never liked Aiden enough to really feel comfortable with this story.

This is the 31st book in the Black Light series featuring Aiden and Lila's sizzling opposites attract story. We get to know Master Aiden who is an Orthopedic surgeon who has some famous clients he's worked very hard to achieve his success and he has the ego to prove it. Lila is a sweet and humble massage therapist who's fantastic at her job everyone loves her. Aiden belittles Lila's job he doesn't respect her profession but Lila doesn't take any of his garbage about her job. You really need to read this book to see what happens between them. I would recommend reading this book as well as the previous books in this fantastic series. I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion of this book.

Aiden and Lila are both in professions that help others. There are definite fireworks going off when Aiden belittles Lila's chosen profession. I love how as the book goes on Aiden begins to see massage therapy as a true profession that helps and sees Lila in a new light with respect. As a surgeon, he had the mindset that seeing is believing and he needed to have concrete proof to back up what works and what doesn't. Aiden learns to accept help from others and that it is ok to ask for help when needed. He is taken down a couple of pegs, and learns to respect others. I love that it shows this.

This was a read that hit home for me. While I am not in the medical field--I am in the IT field, and have been since the late 70's. I have fought my share of battles with egotistical males, albeit less field related and more gender related. That said--I totally related to the issues that Lila was having with Spencer in relation to their jobs. But the chemistry between them---oooo la-la! This book has it all--differences of opinions, different outlooks, shared kink, loads of heat, and lots of emotions. I am a huge Black Light fan, and this one was different but fit right in. I will be reading more of Ms Murdoch's stuff! And hope she makes a return appearance to BL.

A Black Light Winner!
Lila is an excellent massage therapist. She works some hours at Black Light to earn her membership. Many have found her work to provide miraculous relief for what ails them.
Master Aiden is a surgeon. Rather arrogant and belittling to Lila’s profession. He is captivated by the woman, but views her career as more of a “snake charmer”.
The D/s relationship is hot, the arrogance drives me nuts. Then Aiden makes a decision for both of them that neither can live with. Will keep you engaged.

Can Aiden redeem himself?
Lilia is a massage therapist who works at Black Light to pay her membership fees. Aiden sees her and feels an instant connection. Everything goes wrong during their first meeting but the chemistry is still there. Lilia has to decide if she can move past their first meeting or not.
Like all Black Light books this one is well written and has characters who have to work through misunderstandings and build a D/s relationship.

wow Medical BDSM play!
Ok this style of Medical play was very new to me and I was not always sure about it. Most likely it not something I would ever do myself, but the writer does a really good job of describing it and there is nothing in it that triggered me in anyway, so even though I found it strange I still enjoyed it quite a lot. The smutty medical scenes were very 🔥 🔥 🔥 I will say. Also I loved the characters and there was a very good HEA at the end. I strongly recommend this book.

Good Read
This book is different from Vivian Murdoch's other books, but I still couldn't put it down. It's a contemporary non dark quick read but it still has that sizzle and heat we love and still manages to has some feels. Aiden and Lila are complete opposites but something about the other just pulls them together. Aiden is definitely a character you won't like at first. Lila is the one we all love. Dominate and Submissive. Enter into the world of Black Light the BDSM Club of DC. You will definitely enjoy yourself. 😉

This is my first time reading this author and the book was well written.
The descriptions were realistic and I could definitely envision the environment. I had a somewhat hard time connecting with the characters though. Aiden is just a bit too self righteous for me. I really wanted Lila to learn that she doesn't need to please everyone, but not sure she quite got there. I did enjoy the way the author included the club. It was nice to catch up with some of my favorite Black Light characters and to know that they had Lila's back. This whole series of books is definitely worth reading.
