A hulking shadow broke away from the surrounding darkness. Man shaped, but far too tall, shoulders too broad, he was at my side before I had fully registered his presence. One massive hand clamped over my wrist, covering the comm bangle, nearly muting Kyla's message. "Please," I begged. "That's my friend, I need to know what she's saying.” But that was as far as I got. With a quick twist he pulled me tight against his body, my back to his chest, pressing his other hand over my mouth. You must be silent. I froze, rigid against him. That didn't sound good. Not at all.
Reaver's Prize is the third book in the Thaxian Warrior Mates world. While there is an overarching plot and mystery, each book has an HEA for the couple.
This series just keeps getting better. Khelos and Hannah are so well matched, and together they manage to survive and escape the clutches of a madman. Khelos is a reaver whose dna has been spliced and altered to make him a beast of his kind, so much so they reject him, but Hannah is his saviour.
I loved Hannah and Khelos! This was such a strange adventure. Being stuck in one of the experimental facilities with a madman trying to take up the reins of making his own experimental monsters to “take over the world” I didn’t truly realize that Khelos was one of the Ol’Ki modifications. I felt for his plight and the life he lived as a Beast. I liked his friend Carrick. Even though he was part of the beginning of the original madness, he did his best to correct it. I definitely recommend this Thracian Warrior compilation.
Well, this was a different story. We have Hannah and Khelos. You would think having one’s escape pod dragged out of the ocean would be a good thing. Unless your frying pan of an ocean situation turned into the fire of a psychotic renegade Ol’ki jerkface on a power trip. Yeah, there’s also a villain in this one.
So this pair is immediately set to survival. Not exploration. And while they’ve also got an elder on their side, he’s something of a Frodo character (vis the promised lands). But he does what he can.
Another difference is Khelos’ - a.k.a. Beast - ability to use telepathy. He’s a shockingly gentlemanly Beast, by the way. Rather fits in with Hannah’s rubber ducky dress.
Hannah also has some secrets. Once again, these two are a well balanced pair.
And a great adventure! We also learn quite a bit about the Makers, if not this particular third clan. Off to the next one…
Oh how I adore this new world that Elin Wyn has created in this new installment the more silver looking Reaver discovers a human woman and together they rescue Each other from the dangers of this new and reverse world. Khelos is an Ol'lin but not. He's been augmented and is more. They call him the beast and they force him to fight in the pits. While scavenging near his rooms he came across a cylinder shaped capsule and somehow the top is ajar. As he watches the most beautiful female comes out of it. Just as she goes to make a sounds he covers her mouth and says don't let them head you. Hannah has just women up in her escape pod she doesn't know where she is or where the others are. She's scared and freaking out just as she's about to help out a hand clamps around her mouth and whispers to her. Khelos, doesn't want his leader to find her he knows that she'll never make it they abuse and hurt her. He could never live with himself that happened. When they are discovered he does his best to shield her. He fights for her and protects her. He's inexplicably seen too her . He'll do anything to make her his. Hannah doesn't understand her attraction but she can't believe how wonderful Khelos is and how no matter what he stands ready to protect and defend her. Together they forge a path to freedom. Along the way they discover friendship, Acceptance and most of all love! Fabulous story I can't wait for the next one!🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥💖🔥💖💖🔥🔥💖💖
Waking up in her escape pod, Hannah is alarmed when she comes face to face with a strange alien, who urges her to stay silent. It’s not long before she realizes she is in a dangerous situation, where Khelos, the alien who found her, has to fight for survival, and Hannah herself must play a game of her own in the hopes they can escape.
This book pairs up an Ol’Ki Reaver with one of the humans scattered across Thaxos, and we don’t get to see much of the other races until the end of the book. The romance is on the insta-love side, but it’s a sweet one. Khelos, much like the other heroes in this series, is a softy where his human is concerned. Amusingly, he seems to think the answer to every problem is to stab it… In addition to the alien aspect of this sci-fi romance, we have a mad scientist side too, as Khelos and Hannah go up against a crazy genius and his creations.
An enjoyable trip back to the Thaxian world, and a book sci-fi romance lovers will enjoy.
I liked it. There’s action, there’s angst, and, more importantly, no cage sex! Yay! I freaking hate that. My complaint here is because these people have no females. They don’t seem to have any sexual drive whatsoever until they meet their human mates. But, except for Dakar, they all know how to kiss, and do everything else (and excel at it). With whom did they do that, I wonder, since they don’t seem to have any romantic/sexual relationships with others of their species? It would make sense to have more than one bisexual character, a couple gay characters, and a shit ton of aces, but nope. They’re all straight, so they only have sexual desires for females. Remember, they didn’t even know females were a thing before the humans arrived. The telepathy thing was never explained, but I can let that slide. The ending felt a little rushed and kind of incomplete, more of a HFN than a HEA. But it was entertaining, and I liked the plot in general.
Talk about going through the fire, this book was pretty intense. When Hannah awakes in her escape pod she has no idea she has landed in a hellacious place with the alien version of Dr. Frankenstein lording it over all his creations. That includes Khelos, an alien splice created for destruction. Khelos saves Hannah and the two fall in love while Khelos endures daily torture in a fighting pit. There was so much going on and I didn’t see how they would ever get free. The mad scientist/future warlord was a great touch, but dang was he cruel. I loved the action and the sweet love the couple shared.
Authors Elin Why and Starr Hundreds have developed the most amazing world, Thaxos, into which they've placed their romantic couples! Human women, tossed into space because of a tragic event, riding in their individual escape pods and landing who knows where or into what conditions. Add to the drama the advent of a mate and anything can happen! Characterization is true, the story is compelling with an ever changing and complex plotline, and I fell so in-love with Hannah and her Thaxian mate! With all of the action, suspense, and spice romance readers crave, REAVER'S PRIZE should be your next romance purchase! 😉
I did not understand parts of the logic or scenario of this book. It was written as a genius madman trying to perfect his warriors to go conquer the world. Now from this many things did not make sense. The pits. Started off as way to test his creations. But only one is many battler. If premise was correct, he should have all soliders fight to home skills. His creations. Made no sense since all but the hero and his soldiers were controlled by him. Lastly why didnt they overthrow him. If they let creatures out they would have had time to leave.
I loved everything about this book in the series! Hannah could very well have drowned if her pod had opened at sea. It was a good thing that her warrior was the one who found her. They had to go through so much just to survive each day. So many times, I didn't think they would! This book is full of action, so much violence, but also the building of a loving partnership with the physical steam to back that up. If you're looking for a book to take you away and hols you hostage to the end, then this is one book you shouldn't miss!
This is another great story in the series. This one has less exploration of the planet with the treasure hunt feel and more of a scary fighting for your life feel. It certainly has some sad parts especially at the end of their captivity... It does kinda leave a bit of unanswered story as you get the sense he may not be quite happy in their new home... It would have maybe been good to have sent them on a quest to one of those other lab locations with the techie and her fixer. But perhaps that can be part of another story.
While the story was good, and Hannah and Beast were amazing as a couple, it was just bit too brutal for me. The writing was done well and the characters and world were well developed, the detail to Beasts "fights" were just a bit too much for me. So many of them, that I started skimming the through them. The blatant disregard for Beast and his survival with all the brutality just got to me. I read this via Kindle Unlimited and while I consider worth my time and $$, you might want to pause before reading if you are sensitive to blood and guts.
Hannah was on a ship that crash along with other human women but they were separated. Ofc their alien men are the ones that find them so they start from there. Khelos is such a sweet mate for Hannah, he cared/loved for her from the start.
I’d honestly recommend not reading them as standalones, I’ve read the first 2 but it’d be when they had just came out that was like last year in October. You get the idea but the girls before and their men pull it all together in the end
Steam-2.5/5 there but not detailed and some fade to black
One of my favorite tropes--alien pit fighter and accidental human woman--done with great zest and heat. The plot was interesting and kept things moving forward, and the relationship between Khelos and Hannah was tender, romantic, and very hot. I also really enjoyed the side character, Carrick, and his deep friendship with Khelos. Too often our heroes are loners. It's nice to have one who has someone significant in their life besides the heroine.
Elin and Starr did a wonderful job of writing this third book in the Thaxian Warrior Mates series. The characters are complex and very intelligent, and imagination was vividly at work with the descriptions of the different creatures of each tribe. I like how the storylines link together as each human mate is released from their escape pods. Looking forward to the next adventure.
He was made to fight and fight he did. He was controlled, but all that altered when he met his mate. Now he had hope, a will to protect her and a reason to live. While relatively fragile, she was feisty, smart and her previous history helped her to problem solve. It couldn’t however stop the ever threatening danger that constantly surrounded them. An exciting read.
Starr Huntress and Elin Wyn have maintained the storyline. The Reavers are different and each has something unique to offer. They do move the mystery along and fill in the blank spots to keep you interested. This book also offers a lot more different species of monsters but also more gore.
The rare Mars Needs Women that doesn't lean too heavily (or, in this case, at all) on non-con, squicky relationships. The women here are clever, competent, and very different from each other, the men sweet natured without giving up their warrior oomph. I'm wishing there were a dozen more to auto buy.
Reaper's price is the 3rd book in the Thaxian warrior mates, and it only gets better. The connection between Khelos and Hannah was beautiful and raw, the angst, the attraction, tgs very descriptive & physical violence wrapped up in a fantasy world so crazy that it almost becomes magical was captivating enjoy
This book felt like it was missing the first 100 pages. Quite literally the main leads meet in page 1 and by page 30 they act like they’ve been friends for years and have blind trust in one another and they would die for the other person. Umm excuse me but you literally have only known each other for a day, just how is that possible ??
I think I would have preferred more spice, but it was still a decent book. It sort of had the mindless spice vibe without that high level of spice. Sort of in a grey area between plot driven and spice driven as far as the quality and content of the writing. I liked that there was some spice and no 3rd act breakup or pointless miscommunication in the relationship.
This is book three and a sweet surprise love story. Khelos is a warrior forced to fight in a pit. He discovers an escape pod with Hannah in it. She is a human female, who is both smart and clever. This is cute mate story easy to read and entertaining. There is a happy ending. Read On!
I just think this series is wonderful, it is well written and the characters are amazing. I can't wait to get more of this series. I received this book as a Free ARC copy to read and I voluntarily leave this review.
With non-stop action, this book kept my attention until the very end. I loved the connection Hannah and Khelos had right from the start, and how they used it to their advantage. Great book! I received a free copy of this book, and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
Hannah is sent out on an escape pod when their ship had catastrophic failures and landed in a really horrific research station. There she met an alien research experiment Khelos who saved her from the psychopathic leader.
Loved the first book in the fever series. The world seems so real. The characters are very well written. You start to care what happens to them. Great story enjoyed it so much
I was a little confused by this story. You learn more about this world and what happened, but most of the time I had to reflect o n what I remembered from the first part of the series. But Hannah and Khelos are so good together.
Reaver’s Prize is one tense, thrilling novel. Khelos is a telepathic pit fighter - prisoner of the evil Isar and his minions. Hannah is the human he finds in the fortress storage rooms. Their story is edge of your seat SFR.
A human jettisoned in a pod finds herself on a world with three moons.A warrior unlike any she'd ever seen comes to her aid.The world building is fascinating and their fight to get to her friends is done with a well written bit of intrigue. They become mates.
The characters are compelling & deep. The story is twisted, intense &, at times, scary. The romance is quick, hot & joyful. Everything you want in an alien love story.
