If a good-looking face was the definition of beauty, then no one would have loved their ailing and wrinkled parents.
When Vasu first sets his eyes on the charming and pretty Radhika, he forgets all about his ‘average’ looks.
An amiable and kind-hearted boy, Vasu is looked down upon by others due to his dark skin tone. His sister Kavya sees his inner goodness and wants him to realise that he is no less than others.
Radhika considers Vasu to be her best friend, while he cannot help falling in love with her.
Will his ‘average’ looks come in the way of his happily ever after? What happens when Vasu is harshly judged based on his skin tone? Will he be able to overcome his insecurities?
I Wish I Could Tell Her is a heartwarming story of a boy’s struggle in search of his identity. Vasu’s emotional tale shall engulf you in tears, both of pain and laughter.

His debut work, You are the Best Wife is based on his life events and lessons.
Does true love really exist? Even if it does; don't the society apply their norms to it, by making the life of two souls complicated?
'I Wish I Could Tell Her', takes to an episode of love set within boundaries. Vasu, a guy with dark complexion, falls in love with a beautiful girl named Radhika, who happens to be Vasu's classmate. But as Vasu isn't fair, he is afraid of the fact what the society will say? Will Radhika accept him?
I liked the theme of the book. The author has brilliantly presented the facts and norms of Indian society. I appreciate the way, the author has portrayed Vasu's character and changes he faced throughout his life. Overall, it was a good read for with lucid style of writing.
Most of you might be thinking that it's a normal review again, but it's not. I'm here to tell you what this book holds - and you can decide for yourself.
The story covers an important social issue - RACISM. Have you ever seen how common it is to use Instagram features that make the skin look brighter? Why are 'fair' girls getting all those likes while the 'saanwli' ones or the darker ones are getting no likes? It's all because of a *MISCONCEPTION* that fairness equals to beauty.
So, if you have that kind of misconception, I'm sorry but this book is a definite read for you. The language is simple and similar to any Indian Romance, with a _female_ character I always end up hating because of her using her boyfriends and best friends. I finished this in a single read, and if you're an avid reader. You'd too.
I won't rate this because this book actually NEEDS to be read by our parents and the society, so that we're able to end this pseudo-fact that being fair is the key to everything.
This book costs less than Rs. 200 on Amazon, even lesser than the Zomato bill you pay almost every three days. Go for it guys, grab the deal.
P.S AJAY IS NOT DURJOY OR CHETAN, SO YOU MUST GIVE IT A TRY
NOT A PAID PROMOTION, JUST FEELING FROM MY HEART AND TO THOSE WHO SAY INDIAN ROMANCE DOESN'T HAVE MEANING. THIS BOOK HAS A PURPOSE GUYS, LET'S FULFILL IT.
My ratings: 4.5/5 . . Story of dark guy with ordinary looks... falling for a pretty girl but didn't get the courage to tell his emotions. Story is simple but the way author penned it, it makes it the extra ordinary.
The book left me with a few questions... Why can't we normalise the variation or diversity. Why can't we normalise the shades and skin types. Why can't we think about broadening our vision and go beyond to see what's hidden. Yeah... These are my very high expectations I guess.
Back to the book... I love Kavya, I Love Vasu. For me the lead were these two but Radhika, who was written to be in lead for me was quite faded. Radhika is like... A person with no base. Idk if I should say that or I'm just comparing book's Radhika to the real person. But she was a confused person and confused me too.
Vasu is innocent... Lover boy, No extra... No less just perfect. My favourite Kavya, the strongest character of book. She is an inspiration.
So fine plot, a quite predictable but no complaints, author was writing what we see or have been through.. generally. Charcter development is amazing. Easy language, simple vocabulary. Only thing i wanna mention that could be better... The book cover. It is beautiful but the book deserves more.
I generally ignore the book cover and title but this book is so fine... It deserves to have best. Otherwise I just love reading this book. Highly recommended to all romance lover.
Inferiority complex is something which affects most individuals in some capacity. Some people think they are not upto the mark maybe due to some physical deformity or because they don't feel their mental capabilities are good enough to deal with ever changing requirements of the world.
Vasu was in a similar corundum as he has a dusky complexion and despite having a thing for his best friend and classmate Radhika ,he had to suppress his feelings. Though his sister Kavya was always with him through thick and thin and provided a sense of encouragement and optimism
The character sketch of Vasu and Kavya are near perfect. Vasu has every single quality which a person should have and obviously we never get to decide our skin tone and that shouldn't even matter. Kavya comes across as a breath of fresh air and infuse hope . Radhika as the case usually is these days is a self centered person who presents herself as a victim of circumstances.
Overall a predictable novel that could have a more specific cover.
When I saw this book, I was amazed with the cover itself! Author Ajay k Pandey is well known for larger-than-life books (at least for me!) especially for doomed love stories. He painted the canvas of the plot with bold, beautiful old good childhood strokes, giving us a ravishing spectacles and gorgeous characters.
The book had the authentic stamps to revisit those past days on boys' "average" looks or what we see around us till date. On every count, both Vasu and Radhika helped in crafting a love story that lowered over skin tones. It's a mix of strength and vulnerability. Action and emotions were well balanced. Author's funny take on a few leading advertisements was a plus too. A lot of these elements form the backbone of this book.
I think author's storytelling could have been more advanced because the story did feel exhausting in places, sometimes became the point of exaggeration.
Last Night i finishef reading the book i wish i could tell her by author Ajay k pandey. This is a fictional read which aims to give a beautiful message to the society.
The plot revolves around a kind hearted guy named vasu , Despite of being a good person he has faced lots of harassment and through his life due to his dark complexion. Vasu loves radhika - a fair girl, though radhika consider vasu as her bestie. What happened later in the story? Grab to know
Coming to the feedback part : The plot is quite unique. Author has beautifully attempted to give a message to the society. The plot waswell framed Overall a must rearead
Being an Indian, I love seeing Indian rep in books, especially if it is done as beautifully as Ajay K Pandey has done it. Like all his previous books, this one, too, has a lesson embedded in its core. Identity crisis and the gaudy obsession with outer beauty are the banes that follow every Indian like their shadow. The author has beautifully portrayed this struggle and ensured that the reader starts to empathize and relate to the characters.
With an easily comprehensive plot and engaging diction, Ajay K Pandey has penned a book that will be a poignant read for every person who has ever put their looks above their personality.
I wish I could tell her is a really good romantic read by Ajay K Pandey. It has all the elements of swoon and trust and friendship and most of all the adressal of important matter like racism. The story is about Vasu, a boy with heart of gold who faces several prejudices in his life due to his skin colour. He makes one true friend in Radhika, a fair skinned girl. Vasu's only supporters are his sister and Radhika. As fate would have it , Vasu finds himself falling for his best friend Radhika. The story explores what happens after it. The narration is the story is very beautiful. The way in which such important issue is addressed without making the story sound out of proportion is admirable. The state of today's society despite all the progress which we have gained is portrayed deeply. The language is easy to understand as is with all of the author's books. The title is apt. The cover is beautiful.
This book is a great work by Ajay K Pandey. He has shown the pure bond of the two siblings as well as the urge to achieve one sided love. My favourite character is Kavya as she has supported Vasu on each and every mode of his life whether it was a sad moment or a happy one.
This book shows that society won't accept you on the basis of your deeds but accept you on the basis of your colour, but sometimes it is exceptional.
The characters have been shaped very beautifully and this is a must to read.
I Wish I Could Tell Her.. is the latest book of author Ajay k Pandey who has a penchant for emotional romantic stories. Every book of the author is based on a new topic this time being Colorism or Racism. As Confucius quoted "Everything has beauty... but not everyone sees it".. the book has been written on these lines. Vasu a kind hearted boy, falls in love with Radhika but never expresses it to her owing to the fear of rejection. Kavya is the only person he finds solace in, who constantly motivates him. What happens next forms the story.
Though we claim to be modern, color discrimination still prevails in the society. Through Vasu we get to experience the agony of dark skinned people. Also how insecurities and complexities prevent them from having a normal life has been discussed. Brother sister relationship of Kavya and Vasu has been portrayed well.
Interesting concept that is narrated in a lucid language with the title and cover aptly chosen to suit the contents. The author has done a commendable job while describing the emotions displayed by the protagonist. I could relate to Vasu at many places... Overall a good engrossing read
I felt that the story is stitched purposefully to come up with something to deliver to the readers, but it lacked the touch of reality somewhere. I wasn't able to relate to the complete story, especially the 'letter-series' part, and how after that series of events unfold. However, I liked the message the author wants to convey to his readers.
I must say his every book carries a beautiful message with it. This is the Story of Vasu- a boy with mediocre Looks and Intelligence but with a golden heart and beautiful Soul.
What started as a School friendship with Radhika for vasu, turned in to love with passing years. But falling in love is easy but expressing it is entirely different. ✨ This is story a family who loved their Boy unconditionally, a sister who stood by her through thick and thin, making sure his brother is secure from the cruelity and judgement of world.
This beautiful Story focus on the society's obsession with fair complexion and treating dark complexion as some kind of curse. ✨ Book is easy read and could be completed in one sitting because the character of Vasu and her sister will hold you till the end. I picked the book at night and goes on Binge reading till morning!
Kudos to Author for always coming up with such sensitive topics as centre of his stories. Looking forward to Read more such amazing stories.
This story was of Vasu. Story starts with school days and later his youth. He have feelings for Radhika, but will he ever be able to confess to her? Radhika was a beauty with brain. She considers vasu as her best friend. She changed her mind with the passage of time. I loved the character of Kavya, Vasu's sister. The way she gave definitions to vasu, explain him things and gave a solution. We all need a person like her in our life. Such people are rare to find. ~ This book is strongly based on the theme of Racism. It's much needed topic we need to change our mentality. Other minor themes were love, family, money, greed or relationship. ~ This is my first read by Author Ajay k.pandey , writing style worked for me. Story was an interesting one, till the end. Jaipur city is so close to my heart, i can relate things either it's weather or food. Really a fast paced story. Radhika's character was not well developed. One main thing, ending could be better or justified. This was a good read for me. I will recommend this book to beginners and to those who enjoy love stories.
. The protagonist of this story is ' Vassu' and his best friend 'Radhika', two completely different people and so is their relationship.
🌈. The story of a boy's struggle in search of his identity, love, and everything in between.
🌈. The story also silently tells about good parenting and the role of siblings in our life.
🌈. The plot is simple but very engaging, if you are a fiction reader you will complete it in one go.
•If a good-looking face was the definition of beauty, then no one would have loved their aling and wrinkled parent.
My Turn :-
✍. The story is simple but with sudden twists, turns and an engaging plot are keep me going. I more get connect with Kavya, because in between every problem of Vastu, her struggle and her story is getting ignored. Simple story but will touch your heart and soul.
🌈. If you are a fiction reader, you can give it a try. Best for a beginner reader.
If we want to market or advertise or highlight something, we wish to do it with fair people whom we think that they are looking good to promote it further. Product advertisements in television, heroes in movies, posters and boards of shops, students in banners for schools and colleges and much more.
Why all these corporate companies or our community will think that only fair people can attract others and because of that only people will buy our products and make utilise of them. Even the common man who is in black will prompte his product with white people only. This is what the society has been created towards the racism.
Actually while we grow up whatever may be the elders or teachers can select some good looking fair people for functions as a receptionist or to welcome chief guests, we friends, the love and affection between them never find any differences with black or white. The color of the skin doesn't matter between the true friendship or for the pure love. I have came across many of my friends who are in love and got married with dark people. The bond between them never differentiate with the color of the skin. But the society does it still in this century too. It changes a lot today and people learnt to realize true heart behind the differences yet somewhere somebody is practising the racism. Also whatever changes, the marketing doesn't change to make the people to remember the same. This is the one flaw that what we have as of now and beacuse of that the racism not yet vanished till.
"I wish I could tell" her is one such story explaining everything about the hesitation, ignorance, friendship and love between the black and white. Though the main protagonist's are Vasu, a black guy and Radhika, a fair girl, the author developed the main character of Kavya who is much needed for the society to get rid of these racism in this world. The author has done a great job and came out with a message of realisation with a beautiful story of love, friendship and a brotherhood attachment.
The language of the story is lucid, the title is attracting and the cover of the book is beautiful. The writing style and the narration is smooth and flowing through with interesting plot. The storyline is purposeful and appreciable.
This is the first story am reading from the author's work and after reading this I wish I could come from his first book you are the besr wife. I found all his title of the books are wonderful and it could be relatable. I am gonna pick those to mesmerize with the stories I guess.
Kudos to the author and I recommend this book to indulge with this beautiful love story beyond the differences and a strong love between the siblings. Happy reading.

Vasu is a slow learner boy who's always been a victim of discrimination because of his dark complexion. A girl Radhika joins his class as new admission and they become friends. Their friendship gets stronger with respect to time and Vasu realises that he's been fallen for Radhika but is afraid to tell her because of his insecurities. On the other hand Radhika see Vasu as her best friend only. Will Vasu succumb to his insecurities? Or will he eventually be able to overcome them? What turn of events happens in lives of Vasu and Radhika after their school life? Read the book and find out. There's something about Ajay K Pandey's books, you just can't keep calm unless you finish his books. Is it because of beautiful writing style, or proper handling of emotions, or the-next-door-existing characters (or the problems they face) or something else, I don't know. But I know that it sure is. His every other book appears to be dealing with a Social issue. This one too. Our author friend has raised the issue of apartheid in I wish i could tell her. From fashion competition to hotel reception Vasu faces the partiality against him. No-one sees his golden heart except his family and Radhika. We're living in a modern world but the existence of such kind of malpractices even today shows that we have still a long way to go. Matrimonials and classifieds of newspapers are loaded with demands for 'good looking', 'fair complexioned' etc brides and grooms. Vasu's pillar of strength is his sister Kavya. No matter what problem arises in his life, she always comes up with a solution. Through her author has also tried to show how difficult it is to find a groom for girls having un-fair skin. She steal the show on every appearance. Her more-love-than-hate bonding with Vasu is really vey heartwarming. Radhika keeps appearing at regular intervals to take the story forward. But it's Vasu around whose the whole story revolves. It's not like something extraordinary happens at the end. Climax become clearly visible from a long distance. But you can't complain because it feels so satisfying. What happens between first meeting of Radhika & Vasu and the climax holds major importance. Vasu was a blessed soul. No matter what, in every situation he was ready to stand with Radhika. A true friend indeed. There's a saying that sometimes journey is more important than the destination. The saying suits this book very well. Recommended! Thank you so much for reading the review.
Book : I wish I Could Tell Her Author: Ajay K Pandey Pages : 208 Rating : ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
"If a good-looking face was the definition of beauty, then no one would have loved their ailing and wrinkled parents".
Why is colour so important?? Why is it always that people are looking for fair looking partners and call it beautiful?? Why are fairness creams so important?? Why is every matrimonial site asking a fair boy/girl for proposals??? Why is nobody interested in inner beauty and running behind outer beauty??? Why do every hero/protagonist/emperor etc be shown fair, tall and handsome and all the villains are dark shade, and so called average looking guy???
Huff the society and its norms are sometimes so senseless and useless that it is ruining many people's lives knowingly and unknowingly.
The story I Wish I Could Tell Her talks about all the above mentioned points and scenarios. Where an average looking guy fell in love with a beautiful girl and she friend zoned him so easily. She used him for every possible task but always avoided him as a good life partner or a lover boy.
His life was always full of jokes, criticism, colour racism and rejections. But his family especially his sister always supported him and gave him the best advice at every possible step so that he could achieve every dream possible. But still life is hell difficult for him and his heart could never accept that he could never get the love back from her only love.
How did he manage to cope up with his colour and society??? How does he console himself to be strong and face the world?? How he achieved every possible goal of his life is what this story tells you.
Ajay K Pandey has always presented best novels with most taboo topics from society which are so important to be discussed and which need urgent attention. He makes his novel so real that you could literally feel the pain of the characters and dilemma they are going through. Talking about such topics with so much ease and without hurting sentiments of people is not easy but he brings out all this in such a smooth and positive way that you cannot stop appreciating him for great work. He makes me cry every single time with his excellency and scripts. He makes sure that the time you have taken reading his books gives you back something to apply in your life for betterment and success.
**Examples used in the story to explain the point of view are excellent and most appropriate.
Hats off to this author for giving most searched and bestsellers so far.
📍 This book is on racism. It talks about how everyone wants a fair person to marry, how everyone taunts a black person, how badly that person feels when it's not the same for him/her.
📍 While reading the book it actually felt that this really happens around us, everywhere. That's what we have learned since our childhood, that you're beautiful or handsome if you have a fair face, if you're a black person you'll be called various names.
📍 It happens in schools, in colleges, everywhere you can think of. And that's what happened to Vasu and to his sister Kavya as well.
📍 Vasu is a school kid who doesn't have a fair skin like most kids there. Because of that he has suffered and going to suffer a lot. He has got a good heart as well.
📍 He is not too good in studies as his IQ is not so good like every other normal person. When some new students enter his school and his class, he finds someone worthy to make a friend. This new person is Radhika. She's got a beautiful face, and a good heart. She doesn't judge him on his skin colour. She doesn't call him names. They become best friends.
📍 But Vasu has started to get feeling for her and he does all the things to help her in any way he can. Radhika has her own problems at her home. After the school is over they both go their own ways to different-different colleges.
📍 In this new college she finds a new gut Sanju. They become good friends which makes Vasu jealous. But Vasu can't do anything about that. And whenever he gets stuck like this he goes to her sister asking for her help.
📍 So what do you think is gonna happen in the story? Will they be together in the end? Or will there be complications and Sanju would be the guy to get Radhika?
📍 Read the book to find out what happens to Vasu, Radhika, Kavya and Sanju.
📍 The story is quite good, but there was a lot of racism so that could have been what disrupted the taste a little bit. The language of the book is lucid, the story was quite interesting to read, it was frustrating to read when Vasu was feeling low, but to know what happens next had to read more in the story, this was that kinda story.
"Colourism" is widespread in Indian marriages. Both male and female facing the issues due to the colour discrimination in India. Women even after their marriages went through a mental taruma & stress due to this discrimination. . Our main character Vasu in the story went through a same prblm due to dark skin. He throughout the plot searches for his own identity. Her sister kavya's role is described supportive & heart touching. She supported her brother Vasu at every stage. And motivates him with encouraging words. Our second main character is Radhika , she is fair skin beautiful girl. Whom Vasu loved whole heartedly. She is her childhood crush & best friend. Vasu always wondered why she has fair skin & why he has black skin tone. Author has perfectly presented the struggle of every dark skin Indian male or female through the story of Vasu that is very heart touching & at the same time very relatable. . The lines " Vicco Turmeric or Fair & Lovely don't determine the affection you've for your loved ones. There is compelling force which is much stronger than these superficial aspects". . Is truely said by Kavya to Vasu. Many deep & bold thoughts is spoken by Kavya in the book. So I liked her character as well.
" If a good looking face was the definition of beauty, then no one would have loved their ageing parents." . Its indeed true. . We all are Beautiful in our own ways. Without any filter we are beautiful. The problem lies in our thought. We've to believe in our true self & in our abilities. True beauty is not about having a pretty face. A true beauty is all about having a pretty heart , pretty mind and soul. This book is a must book for everyone. Author has done a great job by putting a light on a major issue of a society. We all need more awarness on this topic. Author has said in the novel through Kavy's character that " We Indian's are physically free but we are mentally colonised" its absolutely true. There is a need to change the poor mentality of ppl. And I hope that this book will left a deep impact on such ill mentality. . Thank you Sir for writing such a Masterpiece 😍❤ . Rating ~ 5/5
This man always makes me smile in the last with his soulful stories and mesmerizing words he writes this time by this story he had won my heart and given a meaningful story that could change society, they can portray their life with the life lessons it has.
I will always take my time to read his stories because it gives me hope that in this whole world of selfish people there is some kind soul who understands to be alive and always do the best thing.
This book is a slap at racism which are very common in this world where some racist people still do differently with colours.
In my entire life, I have never judged people due to their colours I try to find something in common in every people I meet and try to make a good impression and have a good moment because life is all about living and making moments that can cherish you to be more alive.
If you haven't read any book by Ajay sir then you are missing soulful stories, you can connect with his stories and will see how beautiful he writes and weaves his character.
In this story, the author is trying to make a difference by presenting a story which distinguishes humans by assumption based on their skin colour and I liked the way the author has put it together.
I wish I could tell her is the story of a boy who has a big heart and is friendly but he is always insulted because of his looks as he has dark skin colours everyone tries to insult in many ways but this boy is so innocent to look all this and despite of his dark complexion he fell in love with a fair girl and that girl just consider him her best friend.
Glimpse
Radhika is the only child of her parents but her father is a drinker, she is down to earth girl and when others insulted Vasu because of his skin colour she became his friend and never distinguished him based on his colour, she always says she will marry a rich man.
Vasu is the youngest child of his parents and he has a saviour in his sister kavya she always makes him strong whenever he feels low and lost, kavya knows deep down that her brother is a kind-hearted person who will never try to destroy anyone.
✒️ Woww, this was absolutely exquisite and I need everyone to read this.
✒️This book is for every twenty-something who feels lost in a sea of expectation, with brother- sister bonding, a good friendship and the start of life in the real world. This book is for every lonely creature shouting into the dark and hoping that someone is listening and someone is caring for them.
5*you have my heart*stars to this!!❤️
✒️The book follows up a story of a siblings vasu and kavya in wheatish complexion. Ajay K Pandey talks a lot about the discrimination they faced in their life because of racism.
✒️Especially this racism is not something that we can only read in books, but it is something that we have experienced from our fellow students during my school and college days.
✒️Similarly, even during my studies, some of my fellow students who studied with me had a habit of calling them by their Nick names when they were less colored, but it was definitely a thing to be condemned for sure.
✒️The crux of this story is that Vasu, the main character of this story, is seen little dark So what kind of situation does he go through in his life, and what kind of place does he get to stand.
✒️It is during this time that he meets Radhika in his school class. She looks like a good looking and good hearted girl then she doesn't make him much and his color doesn't make much sense to her.
✒️Vasu liked Radhika so much that he wanted to befriend her and not only that but he also fell in love with her. She is in her college years then she gets a new friendship in her college, his name is Sanju. Vasu is very jealous when he sees Radhika and Sanju.
✒️In some situations like this, wherever his life comes to a standstill, his elder sister Kavya comes to his mind. He is going to Kavya with this problem. And I think I have said enough and given you enough reasons to read this book. JUST READ IT.
✒️THIS BOOK! i went in hoping for a great cringy romance and i came out with a new favorite book. This is a call to all the lost and lonely people stumbling to find their way in the world.
This is a book that was written after a real-life experience that shook the author and made him think more about that issue. Racism and discrimination are not just seen in other countries but also our own! Being shunned and ridiculed or teased for being dark-skinned and giving preference for a fair-skinned person be it in school plays or matrimony is something we see so much around us! This story too revolves around the topic. Vasu is dark-skinned but a very kind-hearted person and so is his sister, Kavya. The discrimination they go through in society and do they overcome it is the crux of the story. The key characters are of course Vasu and Radhika, his classmate who is a fair-skinned and beautiful girl. Vasu falls in love with her but keeps it between his sister and himself, not sure if she would accept him. Radhika on the other hand falls in love with another cute and fair-skinned Sajay and they get married. Vasu understands that it is money and the color of their skin that rules the world and not love. The author has brought out such a sensitive topic in this story that can bring tears to your eyes. The turmoil that Vasu and Kavya go through because of their skin color and the attempts they make to get over it is heart-breaking. One of the characters that I liked in this story is Kavya. She is portrayed as a strong woman who is so supportive of her brother and is a person who he can turn to when he needs any advice or a word of comfort. Even when Kavya feels the prejudice, she does not lose heart but accepts the situation she faces and carries on. Radhika’s character is another that was penned well. Her behavior and attitude are what kept the story moving. The ending was not what I was expecting but it is a good one. This story tells us how this society is so stuck up on beauty and being fair skinned and most important thing like love, care and a good heart are given secondary treatment! In all,it is a really quick read that can be finished in one sitting but the subject dealt in it will linger on longer.
📚 Book review 📚 Name : I wish I could tell her Author: Ajay K panday Format : paperback Genre : fiction My rating: 3.8/5 ✨
"True love stories never have endings.” –
Love is exceptional it doesn't deal with the colour of a person but society has made social norms that this particular person is black and then it would get married with a girl who is the same as him . But that's not true in terms of 'love ' it's something that lies beyond the personality it's something when someone truly loves someone. Then he loves his / her soul rather than skin Or body !
This book mainly deals with the concept of racism one shouldn't feel that he / she is inferior even though he / she is not good looking according to society.
I'll praise the author for writing a book and give a strong message to the community about racism which everyone thinks that because of modernisation it has decreased Or it's decreasing but according to some minority Or society it still happening across the country people discriminate on the basis of colour of skin and marry them according to their skin colour.
Back to the modernisation i personally feels like it's developing day by day it's excellent and what i feel about love is all we need just a partner no matter where he comes from Or whatever skin he has but must be able to understand our feelings, who can hold our hand and share our feeling and make us feel comfortable.
Back to the novel . This is an exceptional book which started from childhood student life and till the present day that's what I liked and definitely I must say that the story is thought provoking and enjoyable that keeps me hooked till the end. I personally loved the character kavya who is really matured and supportive to her brother.
Overall i loved the whole concept but somewhere i feel it's more fictional than reality it's my point of view that if the author tried to write in reality so it could have been better to enjoy more ! Overall it was an amazing experience to read this book and review !
Assalamu Alaikum 😊, 'Vicco Turmeric or Fair & Lovely don't determine the affection you have for your loved ones. There is a compelling force which is much stronger than these superficial aspects'- extracts from the book

When Vasu meets Radhika, he forgets all about his looks, rejection in the society and falls in love with her. While Radhika considers Vasu as her best friend. Will his 'looks' hinder his future? Will he be accepted in the society? Will he win over Radhika.
🍁 Heartwarming tale that speaks the reality of the Indian society. Many of us as obsessed with complexion, especially during a marriage all that matters first is appearance. Is appearence sufficient of a relationship or job? Then what do you think is the role of Character, Talent and Goodness? It is not the first time I am reading the books of Ajay K Pandey, Hands off to the author for bringing an important issue.
🍁 The connection between Vasu and Radhika during the childhood are so lovely to read. Well developed plot and neat potrayal of characters and their emotional changes have been well described. Over usage of Alcohol and smoking is mentioned throughout the plot. Kavya's role is quite crucial in the plot. The struggle what a dark skinned person faces in this society particularly during the marriage is brought up quite well. The kind heart and sacrificing nature brings Vasu as an exclusive personality. His change in character and thought process due to things happening around him speaks the day to day reality!
I wish I could Tell Her is a contemporary romance novel, it is the story of Vasu and Radhika. Vasu was an average boy, with average looks and average grades in school. Radhika joined his school in sixth standard, she was the most beautiful girl Vasu had ever seen and they eventually became good friends. Their friendship gradually became stronger and they became besties but Vasu had always seen Radhika as his one true love, will he ever be able to tell her?
The book is set in Jaipur and spans many years, from late nineties when Vasu is in sixth standard and Radhika enters his life to the Covid times. The book has a beautiful story that is full of Vasu's unconditional, one - sided love for Radhika and Vasu's sister Kavya's constant support and encouragement along with many twists and turns and changes in the lives of main characters. The book also highlights the issue of colorism and racism and shows how people with dark complexion aren't preferred as romantic partners no matter how kind hearted and good they are.
The writing style is lucid and simple, making it an engaging and easy read. The story is written in medium pace and it spans over many years. As story progresses, we start to like Vasu's character because of his many qualities but even after knowing Radhika's circumstances, I couldn't like her and in my opinion she was shallow and her character went through a descent. The author has penned down an enjoyable and immersive story that feels close to life, moreover the characters and the situations they face are relatable and show reality of Indian society.

🌼 The book came to me with a special packet. The cover page illustration is beautiful and contextual. Congratulations to the author for writing a marvelous masterpiece of romantic book. It talks about how everyone wants a fair person to marry, how everyone taunts a black person , how badly that person feels when it's not the same for him/her.
🍂 This story gives a strong message in the most simplest way. Vasu, the main protagonist of this book, has faced racism since his childhood and finds one person, Radhika, who treated him with respect and became a friend of his. Because of her and his family, Vasu's school life went well. But when he falls in love with Radhika. He understands that he doesn't fit the society standards and racism made an invisible line between him and Radhika.
🍂 Spanning the childhood to present day adulthood of the characters, a tale of overcoming insecurity and a search for identity, this is a heartwarming story that is emotional and connects with the readers. Several times the words from the book hit just the right notes. A beautiful story filled with the right emotions and a theme so relevant. It's an easy to read, relatable, bright, positive and an uplifting story definitely worth a read.
🍂 Whether you are a romantic story book fan or not , You must read this book. I am sure you will like this book Overall, I liked the book . The title is quite appropriate. The writing style of the book is interesting. It's my best read so far, I absolutely loved every page of it. Of course I would recommend this book to all readers. Outstanding Read.....❤️

“If good-looking face was the definition of beauty, then no one would’ve loved their ailing and wrinkled parents”
This book is a story about Vasu-an average looking and kind hearted boy who fell in love at first sight when he met “Radhika”-who is very fair and pretty. Vasu, who slowly started facing issue at his school and among his friends because of his skin tone found solace when Radhika came into his life, who treated him kind and well. Did Vasu confessed his feelings to Radhika? Did Radhika Friend zoned him or they are ended up getting together? is what this book is all about.
I love the fact that this book is dealing with someone’s struggle in searching and defining their identity. No one can deny anything which is discussed in this book. It is written purely from Indian family’s perspective-so anyone would be able to connect and realise that this is what happening around us. Kavya-Oh my god! Doesn’t everyone deserve a super amazing sister like her? One who always had Vasu’s back and constantly pushed him to try things, and helped as much as she could in his love life! She’s the best!
There are many little little heart touching warming moments in this story. The way he used the placard sign in the beginning and the end, the way the author used Radha-Krishna’s story throughout, and how people even discriminate animals based on look. All those moments were very well written and very well perceived.
I’d recommend this book to anyone! It is fast paced and the writing is very coherent and lucid.
Remember,”Once you’re confident about yourself,no one could make you feel less”
