While visiting London for his half-brother’s wedding, he meets a woman who illuminates his dull world. The female in question, however, may soon be betrothed to another.
Earl of Renshaw – Privileged, proper, and a stickler for Society’s strictures, Lord Renshaw’s well-ordered life tumbles tail-coat over polished boots when a beautiful stranger stows away in his coach, and upon discovery, publicly claims to be his betrothed.
Some are clean and some are not. A great bundle I recommend and a nice ending to this unique series. This is a stand alone bundle. Almost all the stories have typo's but not enough to where you couldn't figure out the word.
1. EARL OF HAWKE by Meara Platt - 5 STARS
The banter back and forth between the H/h is priceless, especially the beginning. Yes, you know how it is going to end but the journey was joyful.
The H is best friends with the h's brother. He's known her since she was born since he was always over to their house. She's never thought of him as a brother but she feels that is how he looks at her.
He has to help his friend out and take the h to London for the Season along with her Aunt. He slowly realizes as other men are coming around her that he wants her for himself.
Sweet story with only kisses. I loved how the h set the ground rules what she expected in a husband and cheating wasn't it! She's had many talks with the H on this and I found it refreshing. When he finally declared his love for her he told her he would always be faithful.
No cheating, HEA, romantic and only kisses.
2. EARL OF ZENNOR by Lauren Smith - 3.75 STARS
Somewhat drawn out - you will feel liked you're reading My Fair Lady.
I didn't care for the H at all. Arrogant is putting it mildly. He is bored so he and a friend wager he could turn the barmaid into a lady of society. If his attitude wasn't enough, I didn't care when he became upset with the h he spanks her several times. She's 20 years old!!!
The h has made the most of the life she's been dealt. Her mother died years ago and she is left with an physical abusive stepfather. The H purchases her from her stepfather and she has no say in being taken away by 3 men.
Their journey to HEA is not a smooth journey.
Lovemaking outside of marriage, heat level 4+ out of 5 and described a couple times. The Lord's name is used in vain once or twice. I didn't feel a connection to this couple because little on romance and mostly teaching moments of the H instructing the h. No cheating and some steam.
3. EARL OF STANDISH by Annebelle Anders - 4.5 STARS
Such a touching story. The H lost 4 family members tragically, He is being looked at for being a murderer since he ends up inheriting being a Earl. The h is the second daughter who is being forgotten. Her sister is the diamond of the season and outshines her little sister.
Due to the H being looked at for possible murder he needed to marry right away to a Duke's daughter. The idea doesn't work out and he insteads marries the second daughter of the Duke. I loved the h and her sweet ways. She was torn to do right by her family and she secretly has loved the H for a year. There journey to get to their HEA was not easy.
Lovemaking within marriage - heat level 3 out of 5 and it was filled with love. I enjoyed this couple and felt a connection to them.
My wish was the author would give us a peek into the reaction of the h's father. Nothing was mentioned after the marriage. There was a hiccup at the end when the h reads something before the H explained things to her. I appreciated this wasn't a long drawn out miscommunication.
No cheating, romantic, HEA and tad of spice.
4. EARL OF GRIFFITH by Aubrey Wynne - 5 STARS
Add a sweet 2 year old girl and how can you go wrong? Very touching story! The h runs off with the love of her life at only 17 she elopes to Ireland. She thought she would be first with her husband, but she is second to his beloved country.
The privilege life she was used to being the daughter of an Earl fell way to living almost as a servant. When tragedy comes, the h and her little girl have to run away. She meets up with the usually shy Earl and he his smitten right away. He knows she is hiding something and it is slowly revealed to him.
Just a few kisses but you will feel a connection to this couple as they face twists and turns to reach their HEA. No cheating, romantic and clean. The blurb is misleading because she doesn't have a betrothed.
5. EARL OF MADNESS by Bella Moxie - 2.5 STARS
No romance but a heck of a lot of lust. The H is into bondage, spanking etc and the h is an innocent. They've been betrothed since children and the H wants to end it.
The h has been in love with him and when the H tries to break their agreement she decides to go to the whore house and be what he wants. He doesn't know it is his betrothed when he sets out to do all the things that excite him.
I felt no connection to this couple. I did like the h even though the way she went about winning the H wasn't what a proper lady would do.
The story left so much unanswered for me. His sister was being held captive by her parents and the H leaves to try and earn money to free her. When he comes back his sister is married - HOW does this happen when she is held captive? The H sells off everything that his mad father owned, to ruin him. Where did he and the H live with no property or income? He was going to give it to his sister. I dislike stories where I have to fill in the blanks.
Lovemaking outside of marriage - heat level 4+ out of 5 and full of lust not love. Lord's name and crude words used. This is my first book by this author and my last. Because so much unanswered and not romantic. Just not my type of story.
6. EARL OF STONE by Amanda Mariel - 5 STARS
The h overhears the H (her betrothed) talking to his mistress and can't believe what she hears. Her reaction was spot on and I applaud her for leaving the scene. The H follows her and they are kidnapped together. They work together in trying to escape and the H tries to explain his actions with his ex-mistress.
I liked how the h didn't believe a word he said and was adamant she would not marry him. In escaping they are forced together and the ending wasn't smooth to reach HEA but all worked out in the end.
Foreplay prior to marriage, heat level 4 out of 5 and only described once. No cheating, parts romantic, honest dialogue and some steam.
7. EARL OF HALSBURG by Anna St. Claire - 5 STARS
Anna is fast becoming a favorite author of mine. Her stories have a nice mixture of everything.
Not only did we have very interesting main characters but also secondary characters. This one also had a cute little boy and his dog who saved the day.
Shades of Cinderella with an awful stepmother but this had an awful stepbrother - both awful villains. Story has suspense, twists, romance, love, great dialogue and emotional moments.
Story is clean with only kisses, HEA, no cheating and romance.
8. EARL OF RENSHAW by Collette Cameron - 4.5 STARS
An H you will love to hate. To say he is full of himself is an understatement. The h has fled the home she served as a companion. The son does nothing but try and get the h alone to do whatever to her. No mention if the h ever said anything to his mother. I would think if she liked the h at all, she would have interceded, but this wasn't mentioned.
The way the h/H meet was funny and sad. She hides in the H's coach because the awful son of her companion was hunting for her. Of course, what could go wrong certainly did. The H finds her but so does the man she was hiding from plus so many others. She states the H is her betrothed, which of course he isn't. The H is such a stick in the mud for propriety and never a scandal attached to his name until this announcement.
Very bumpy road to HEA with more curves thrown in too. I loved how the h reacted to a declaration by the H. No cheating, HEA, little on romance, kisses only and a sweet epilogue a few years in the future.
9. EARL OF EVERMORE by Tammy Andresen - 4.25 STARS
One of the shortest in this bundle. Fall in love very fast and I didn't feel a connection since story just skimmed the service of their relationship.
One foreplay scene above waist and then only kisses.
The H is the last member of the Wicked Earl's Club and wants to bring new life into the club. He seeks out an old friend to pass the word and runs into the sister. From there the story is fast with only a few meetings and race to HEA. I did enjoy the epilogue only a few weeks (assuming) into their future.
Earl of Hawke by Meara Platt - Lord Hawke treats Birdie like a sister having known her since she was born. It is not until he faces losing her that he realises he has far stronger feelings for her. Birdie appeared rather childish with Hawke the indulgent and a tad condescending adult, so wasn’t really sure how I felt about their relationship.
Earl of Zennor by Lauren Smith - a Pygmalion story, complete with the men in the story congratulating themselves when she is a success, rather than complimenting her! Note: BDSM behaviour.
Earl of Standish by Annabelle Anders - a scandalous marriage, as a minor Lady Marigold’s marriage to the Earl of Standish is invalid. No person under the age of 21 - unless already married and widowed - was allowed to marry in church without the written permission of their parents. And the Duke of Crossings has definitely not given his permission - what action, if any, will he take? Unfortunately we the readers do not find out.
Earl of Griffith by Aubrey Wynne - A marriage full of hardship, followed by violent death, travel, family and a Chance of lasting happiness. Shame about the typos.
Earl of Madness by Bella Moxie - Albert has spent years working on punishing and ruining his parents after their cruel treatment of him and more especially his sister. With the death of his father he can finally be free and as a last step, free the lady who was engaged to him as a child. However Franny is in love with him and impulsively sets out to find out what he desires in a woman. Note: BDSM.
Earl of Stone by Amanda Mariel - Lady Louisa has an eventful 12 hours. Firstly her betrothed breaks her heart, then she is kidnapped and ransomed along with said cad. They escape, walk for miles, find sanctuary and comfort in one of the Earl’s houses, trust is reinstated and then lost once again. The following morning after explanations and arrival of friends and family, a hasty marriage takes place! Note: what this story sorely needed was a good proofreader the typos were numerous.
Earl of Halsburg by Anna St. Claire - Since the death of her father Elizabeth’s life (and that of her sister) has been restricted by her stepmother. When her guardian finds out that her stepmother is skimming off money that belongs to his wards he steps in. However this may not be the only problem he has to solve as he believes his life maybe in danger. A little boy and a dog are instrumental in solving both cases. A note re the epilogue, though a special licence would allow a marriage to take place in a private chapel in 1826, I don’t think it allowed a couple to marry in an outdoor location as this couple did.
Earl of Renshaw by Collette Cameron – Sanford is always ‘proper’ but now he is in the gossip columns, all because he saved a young woman (a commoner) from a lecher. When she is obviously ill he takes her to a cottage he owns; rather than leave her to servants he stays to care for her. He’s not hiding from the ton, of course he’s not!
Earl of Evermore by Tammy Andersen - His club is crumbling as the rakes reform and get married. After hearing that his friend who has been absent from his life for several years, has successfully launched his sister into society he approaches him to see whether he would like to join the club. He discovers that although Violet has had several offers, her brother is in no hurry to marry her off and is happy for her to have another couple of seasons before making her choice. Almost prepared to move on to his next prospective member, Evermore sees Violet and is strangely attracted…
Most of these stories have typos but not sufficient to distract the reader too badly.
Fitting finale to an enjoyable series. Some very short, some not so, but been a great book to pick up from time to time. Most are not only part of the Wicked Earls series but part of the individual authors other series too, so a lot of crossovers.
Earl of Standish - Reed, has become Earl of Standish unexpectedly after the late Earl and the next three in line to inherit perished in a fire. He knows there is talk he killed them all in order to inherit, but he liked his previous life. At a meeting at the Wicked Earls club, he's told he must marry the duke's daughter (- his late cousins fiance) within two days or the papers will publish a story that could end up with him incarcerated in Newgate. But the printer doesn't specify which daughter..... 5*
Earl of Zennor - bored with life Tristan accepts a wager that he can turn any woman into someone accepted by the ton as one of theirs. Fun story, featuring Earls we've met before. 5*
Earl of Hawke - Silas agrees to escort his best friends wallflower sister around town and the daunting marriage season. But he'd forgotten the little tomboy he'd known as a boy had grown into a lovely young woman. Very short sadly as I love this authors books. 5*
Earl of Stone - Louisa is betrothed to the Earl, but overhears him saying it'll be a ton marriage not a love match, so she flees, with him chasing her. But they find themselves surrounded by thieves, tied up and abducted. Could have been a good book, but so many spelling and grammar errors I lost interest. "I'll teach you manors" is the least of it. Please get a proof reader. 1*
Earl of Madness - Albert's father had been known as the Earl of Madness, hated by Albert and his sister no-one grieved his death. In fact it freed Albert to sell all the family properties, and give the proceeds to his sister. The family line would end with him. But first he had to persuade his fiance to jolt him. 2*
Earl of Halsburg - new to the role of Earl after his uncles untimely death, Alan finds himself guardian to two young ladies, daughters of his late uncles best friend. But when Alan starts getting threatening messages, and realised the finances in his wards home have gone awry, he starts to wonder about his uncles 'accident', and contacts an investigator to help him. 5*
Earl of Griffith - Conway is happiest at home amongst his family and people. When asked to help a friend retrieve his sister and niece from the ferry and escort them to his friends estate, Conway is happy to help. But when he meets the thin poorly dressed Helen and her daughter, travelling alone with no luggage he knows something is very wrong. I read the prologue and nearly out the book down, the subject angers me. But I pressed on. Didn't warm to Helen, but Gruff became one of my favourite Earl in the book, and the daughter is delightfully written. Without the prologue 5*, with it 2.5*
Earl of Renshaw – eldest son of a Marquess, Sanford has always been the restrained well behaved child, his brothers and elder of his sisters have made a 'splash' in the tin with their unorthodox marriages, so he is determined to show them what a proper match is. That is until he finds a wet, cold and frightened stow away in his carriage, who announced to all he is her fiance. Loved this book, part of another series of two as we've met him before. 5*
Earl of Evermore - very short and sweet, virtually no plot, but ties up the series nicely. The end of the club 3*
Earl of Hawke by Meara Platt I thought this story was enchanting. Silas Winborne, Earl of Hawke has a duty to perform for his best friend Grant Chesterfield who has broken his leg. Take Grant’s little sister Mariah to London and get her ready for the Season. Along the way what happens when he starts to lose his heart? I enjoyed the character of Mariah or Wren. She is childlike at times and ladylike at other times. This is a sweet romance with only a few heated kisses. Earl of Zennor by Lauren Smith At first I thought that this book had a ridiculous name. Who would name a character Zennor? But then I decided to Google Zennor and there is actually a tiny village in England called Zennor. In fact, it is a very very old village with a small church and in that small church there is a unique pew with a carved mermaid on it from the early 1600’s. So shame on me for poo pooing the name. I enjoyed this story. It is an adaptation of Pygmalion and it is very well done. There are several steamy scenes in it. Overall, I really liked the heroine Bridget Ringgold. Earl of Standish by Annabelle Anders I enjoyed this book, but I have to confess that I struggled a bit with the steamy scenes. I just felt that they came a bit too fast in the progression of the relationship for me. I did love the heroine Goldie and the way she had held a torch for the hero Reed. Another enjoyable romance by this author. Earl of Stone - by Amanda Mariel I liked this story, but this book is in desperate need of editing. Way too many grammatical problems. They take away from the storyline. “I will not allow you to parish out here.” the hero says as he and the heroine march down a dark road together. Parish? Really? Earl of Renshaw - by Collette Cameron I really enjoyed this book. This book belongs to the Scandalous Ladies series. It can be read as a stand alone. This is a sweet romance with an enemy to lovers trope, which is one of my favorites. The Earl of Renshaw is a horrible prig in the other books so it was nice to see him truly transform into a wonderful hero.
So to be honest, I don't normally like to read anthologies. The reason is, I don't always read all the authors that write in them so if I do read an anthology I end up only reading the authors I read on a normal basis anyway. Plus they tend to be more novellas which I am also not a fan. With all that being said, there were more than few of the authors I read on a regular basis and like that wrote in this one and I have loved this Wicked Earls' Club series so thought why not.
Earl of Zennor - Lauren Smith - This is my 33rd book by Lauren Smith and I have been also been reading her since 2018. She has some of my favorite reads. I really enjoyed Trystan and Bridget’s story. I was only a little ways into the story and had already found myself laughing out loud a few times at the guys antics. So funny. Cute read.
Earl of Standish - Annabelle Anders This is my 35th book by Annabelle and I have been reading her since 2018. I also consider her one of my favorites. Reed and Goldie were a great read. I really liked their story. I just love Annabelle's writing.
Earl of Madness - Bella Moxie is a pretty new author for me. This is only my 4th book by her and I just started reading her books last year. I enjoyed reading Albert and Franny’s story. It was an overall good read.
Earl of Stone - Amanda Mariel - This is my 21st book by Amanda Mariel. I have been reading her since 2020. I don't read her as much anymore as she tends to write a lot of short books and a lot of anthologies which aren't my favorite. I have to say I really loved this story. I loved Louisa and Stephen’s characters. Considering how short it was, she was able to good pretty good depth. It read so well, it went by way too fast. I really wish it would have been longer. 😊
Earl of Evermore - Tammy Andresen - This is my 86th book by Tammy Andresen and I have been reading her since 2017. I consider her one of my favorites. I liked this story although again, WAY TOO SHORT. Just as you getting to know the characters it's over.
I read The Earl of Madness by Bella Moxie in this compilation of Wicked Earls. The best way to describe this book is tenderly wicked! Bella Moxie has a way of blending wicked temptations and heart wrenching tenderness that gives a pure rush of delight. The Mad Earl’s son is flawed and broken, to be expected growing up in a house full of hate and pain. He has spent years trying to right his parents wrongs behind the scenes. Working in the underbelly of society to undercut the earldom, planning to kill it off. His betrothed, Franny is the epitome of kindness. She seeks out the broken-hearted, taking in strays as an effort to make herself feel whole. She sees the little boy behind the mask, the boy who longs to love and be loved. That has always given her purpose, until he breaks their engagement. He will soon learn that the sweet, gentle lady he sees is more determined to save him than he can see. She will fight for love, fight for them. The battle of her determination against his false belief that he’s not good enough for her was a delight to the senses. All the steam I expect from Moxie, but with a tenderness and humour that leaves one lighthearted and free.
I have enjoyed every story in this anthology. I was a bit taken back when I read in one of the first stories that the club was deteriorating. As I read the stories of the Wicked earls finding love, reforming and marrying I began to see a pattern. Even the most wicked of the earls found love and his perfect match.
I’ve read every Wicked Earls book and can honestly say the work has been excellent. I would encourage anyone to begin at the beginning and work your way through all of the HEA’s. Wicked Earls finding lovely ladies and settling in with a wife and families!
As with a lot of these books that combine stories by different authors you find some you like and some you don’t. For the most part I liked the majority and the sweet romances were my favorite.
I really enjoyed the stories. Shows how a man when he is introduced to the right woman will become a better man and become the kind, caring man he was ment to be thus giving himself contentment, love and a better life.
I enjoyed reading all the different authors who wrote stories for this book. I hated to see the end. Thank you to the authors for your hard work on this book.
I enjoyed this collection of stories and have enjoyed the previous ones. I loved the different circumstances each Earl found themselves in and the women that caught them off guard. Worth the read.
