I finished this book by sheer force of will. I wasn't happy with book 3 and was hoping that this book would be a palette cleanser. Wrong! There were so many things I did not like about Mercury and Safina and their entire relationship.

Miss me with Mercury's racist family and his grandfather being a prominent white supremacist.
Miss me with the excuse that because his cousin was jumped by Black men, that's why his mother is a racist piece of shit who uses the N-word.
Miss me with Safina hearing the story and being all 'there are bad people on both sides' bullsh!t
Miss me with Safina being written so unlikable. I couldn't stand her or Mercury. I guess that makes them the perfect couple.
Miss me with Mercury's weak ass excuse for being a racist asshole and not seeing how saying "you people" when talking to POC is triggering af
Miss me with Mercury being the MMC. PERIOD. He's an asshole and nothing about him is likable.
Miss me with this supposed love story cause I didn't see no love. Just sex, sex, sex
Miss me with the light BDSM element that was not well done.
Miss me with the ex druggie girlfriend and the cocaine storyline
Miss me with no consequences for Mercury's mother's actions. We just all a happy family now? GTFOH!
Miss me with this entire book. I do not recommend.

This book was hot as hades!! I mean... I felt the combustion and steam from Safina & Mercury come off the pages. I read this book straight through. They both had trust issues and did not want to appear vulnerable. And they were both stubborn and pig-headed at times. But my goodness, they definitely worked through those issues and found true love with each other. She and her best friend/lover? Tyson? Nah hard pass.. they weren't meant to be. Saf and Merc were it for each other. There were a couple of unexpected twists and turns that kept me glued to this book until my eyes were bleary. The author definitely did her thing with this book. This book was fire!!

Ok

The book is ok, however I wish they had more meaningful conversations while building their relationship. Also given Mercury ‘s relationship with his family, it would have been nice to be privy to the first meeting between Safina and his family. It’s almost like the most interesting parts of their relationship was in the final 3 pages of the epilogue.
As for Safina’s mother, I don’t have the same fairytale view at all. She took zero accountability for her cheating and breaking up her family, instead blaming her dead child’s husband for her shortcomings. She was pregnant with another man’s baby whilst married. Trifling. Even if Safina’s dad in his rage pushed the mom away, she could have approached her after she became an adult. Waiting 26 years is unforgivable. Closure sure but a relationship with her? Nah thanks.

BWWM romance

I enjoyed this book like the rest of the series. I wasn’t sure if I would like Mercury after the way he was portrayed in the other books in the series, but after starting to read this book I was pleased to find that he had many layers. I’m glad he found healing and love. Safina was a hard woman but she couldn’t deny and hide from the love she received from Mercury. They were a sexy, kinky match and their sex scenes were so hot and spicy. I wasn’t sure if I would like them together in the beginning because they seemed like opposites but once they started to peel back those layers on each other and stopped running and hiding from their feelings and emotions, their love and connection was unstoppable.

I received this ARC copy for an honest review. Safina and Mercury, Sizzle Baby! Woo hoo, this book is AWESOME. Safina is a born and breed career woman(nothing wrong with that), but you can’t cuddle with your job. Mercury is a baseball player. Mercury and Safina begin to feel intimate sparks the more they are around each other. Safina and Mercury keep it HOT and KINKY. Cassie Verano went hard on this book. I enjoyed ever page turning moment reading this book. I definitely recommend this book.

This was another fantastic story. I loved the attraction between Safin and Mercury. Those two had passion flying off the pages of this story. Safin tried to fight her attraction to Mercury, but he was just too hot. Mercury never thought that someone like Safin would even be interested in him, but love found a way in. This book had so many surprises that you didn't see coming I just loved it and couldn't wait to finish this story.

Talk about HOT! Baaabyyy, have your fire extinguisher on hand. Mercury and Safina burnt up the sheets and the pages! They both stuck to their convictions about their respective jobs all the way to the end. All the different twists, turns and revelations are so well put together. They both deserved a happy ending. Bravo Cassie Verano! You hit another one out the park (pun intended).

🤔🤔

This is a good book, but not as smooth as the previous ones in the series. There was a lot going on and it seems there was some level of difficulty pulling it all together. This was the fastest relationship ever. We had drug use, race issues, daddy issues, mommy issues, etc. Just too much..

Why???

Why is it that Westbrook is the only one that gets married out of all th these books? All the others get engaged but you never read about any weddings. Even after the 5 year epilogue of this book

Really good read. I enjoyed seeing the side from another player on the team. It was good to read how each one has something going on but come together as a team.

HOT! I loved the heroine and hero of this book because they both felt real! Their struggles, ups and downs of their relationship ( of past and current). I cant stop reading it till I'm finished. I really enjoyed reading this. Highly recommended.
