Very few books manage to captivate me from the first page to the last, but this one did just that. It’s the debut novel in a promising new series. At the heart of the story is Roy, a charming six-year-old boy who instantly became a favorite of mine. In this world, Earth is no longer humanity's sole home. Because of Cosmo and his team, several other planets have been made suitable for human life, and it’s their job to determine who gets to live on each one.
Roy and his mother were assigned tickets to Mars, but Roy, being so young, didn't understand the importance of keeping his ticket safe. An opportunistic stranger saw his chance and secretly swapped his undesirable Pluto ticket with Roy’s prized Mars ticket. Unaware of the switch, Roy ends up on Pluto. He wakes up to find himself in a harsh, unfamiliar environment, separated from his mother. Terrified, he realizes he’s on a planet where survival is a daily struggle and people are hunted for food. However, Roy’s luck changes in unexpected ways. To find out how he navigates this dangerous new world and what fate has in store for him, you'll need to read the book.
If you're looking for a gripping sci-fi adventure that transports you to a richly imagined universe, this book is a must-read. It's the first novel by Lucas that I've had the pleasure of reading, and I’m eager to dive into more of his work.
The pacing of the story is spot-on, keeping you engaged from start to finish with never a dull moment. Lucas has a knack for hooking his readers, and this talent shines brightly in this book.
The Earth has become overpopulated, but it is no longer the only place humans call home. Depending on factors such as their income, career success, education, and convictions, individuals are assigned to different planets by Cosmo and his team. Each person receives a ticket to their designated planet, with strict instructions from Cosmo to protect it at all costs.
A young boy named Roy, only six years old, was given a ticket to Mars because his mother is a successful businesswoman. However, Roy wasn’t as careful with his ticket as he should have been. A man who was originally assigned a ticket to Pluto managed to swap his ticket with Roy’s. When it was time to board the ship to Mars, Roy was denied entry and forced into the line for Pluto. His mother was heartbroken.
Pluto was a harsh and unforgiving place. Roy quickly found himself in trouble but was fortunate to be rescued by a man named Sisel. Sisel took Roy under his wing and taught him how to help others in the harsh environment of Pluto. After Sisel’s death, Roy took on the responsibility of maintaining the safe haven that Sisel had built, becoming a beacon of hope for those on Pluto.
The author’s writing style is captivating, with a smooth and powerful narration that completely immersed me in the story. I was so absorbed that I momentarily forgot about the real world. I particularly loved Roy’s character and the creative concept of assigning people to different planets based on their backgrounds. The setting is well-crafted, adding depth to the story. I highly recommend this book to fellow readers.
The story is based on the premise where Earth has become inhabitable for humans to continue living as a result of overpopulation. Cosmo and his team were assigned with the duty to assign each individual to a different planet on the basis of different factors such as their income, education amongst a few i.e the value which they can deliver. The author Lucas DeAndreis has presented a concept of bifurcation of society on the basis of filters and presents a vivid picturisation of development of the world.
Roy, a six year old young boy, was assigned to go to Mars with his mother, Emma, although Emma believed that they were assigned Earth's Moon. Things take a turn when Roy's ticket gets swapped with a hunched man, and he ends up on the worst, dangerous planet Pluto. While Pluto is one of the hardest planets to survive, Roy's journey puts the reader in an emotional conundrum about his survival in such harsh conditions.
The story is so immersive that the way it is presented allows you to believe that everything is in a rush as the author presents that his mom was rumaging through clothes and certain valuables while stuffing the suitcases. The reference of Mortal God over Drecarth and Nightmare really made me admire the Author's writing. Eagerly waiting for the second part.
In "Light of the Mortal God," Earth is on the verge of collapse forcing humanity to relocate to different planets based on social class. Roy, a 6 year old boy, is separated from his mother Emma and mistakenly sent to Pluto, the planet designated for convicts.
Life on Pluto is a constant struggle for survival, but Roy, with the resilience of youth, adapts and accepts this desolate world as his new reality. He spends six years on Pluto, growing into a twelve-year-old. During this time, he discovers and befriends a small beast creature he names Roary. Roary becomes his loyal companion and best friend, a source of comfort in the bleak landscape. Roy's time on Pluto comes to an end when two young men from Venus, Tuck and Sean, lands on Pluto. They form a bond with Roy offer him a chance to leave Pluto. This marks a turning point in Roy's life, as he finally escapes the harsh conditions & arrives on Earth. However, his time on Earth is short-lived. Circumstances beyond his control force him to embark on another interplanetary journey, this time to the planet Alara. Along the way, he forges deep meaningful friendships, building a network of support in this vast, uncertain universe.
The whole theme of the story is that the Earth becomes inhabitable for human beings because of increased human population. Cosmo was supposed to allot humans to other planets depending on various factors like income and education etc., the worth which they can prove to have. Author Lucas DeAndreis bifurcates the society theory with sets of filters and paints a clear picture of world development.
It is six years to Rory, who has been told that he is going to Mars with his mother, Emma, while in Emma's perception, it is just assignment to the moon of Earth. The tables are turned as Roy's ticket is exchanged with that of a humped man and that leaves him on the nastiest, most treacherous planet Pluto. Yet, one of the most hostile planets to sustain in, Roy's train of thoughts leaves the reader in emotional havoc regarding what might be in store for this surviving prospect, in such an extremely antagonistic environment.
This narrative is so catchy; the far-off narration makes everything race pass in the ultra-quick like when the author draws that entire moment when his mother was rummaging clothes and some valuables into that suitcase. Mortal God as mentioned above Drecarth and Nightmare sat on the cake for me. Can't wait for the second series!
"Light of the Mortal God" is an incredible fantasy book filled with adventure, mystery, and resilience. The story begins with a world in chaos, destroyed by mysterious creatures, leaving pain and devastation everywhere.

Emma and Roy were assigned to the planet Mars which was for middle class people. Tragedy strikes when a convict steals Roy’s ticket and he was forced to Pluto—a place where convicts are assigned with nothing but water.
Roy’s struggles on Pluto are heartbreaking, but his fate takes a turn when a mysterious creature appears and that's where an epic adventure from. Along the way, Roy encounters demigods like Sarma, Tamera, Drecarth, Andora, and Khaldum, created by Lustia and Niton. With courage and determination, he fights to save humanity from the evil creatures.
The book’s detailed descriptions make every moment feel real. The mystery keeps you hooked till the last page. If you love thrilling fantasy stories with deep emotions and powerful characters, this book is a must-read!
"Light of the Mortal God" tells the story of Roy, a young boy separated from his mother and mistakenly sent to the harsh dreadful Pluto. He survives for years, befriending a beast creature named Roary. Sesil is the lovely character who taught Roy how to survive on Pluto and offered him a staff which emits bright light and can be used as a weapon to fight.
Roy eventually escapes with two travelers from Venus and reaches Earth, only to be forced to journey to black holes and more new planets. Along the way, Roy faces terrifying challenges and heartbreaking losses, but also finds friendship and hope. The fate of the galaxy rests on the balance maintained by powerful demigods, including the keepers of life, health, decay, and darkness. But this balance is threatened by the villain Khaldüm, the keeper of death.
Roy's journey ends with a tough choice. He has to leave his friends behind and head out into space alone to try and save everyone. It's a cliffhanger ending that makes you excited for the next book! I hoped he'd have more time with Kaethe, but maybe that will happen later in the upcoming book.
"Light of the Mortal God" is an imaginative fantasy book, full of adventure. The story begins in turmoil with terrifying creatures destroying the world and taking humans forcely to a place where the evil creature Cosmo is going to divide the earth. The Earth is no longer a single planet but is divided into seven locations across the solar system—Earth's Moon, Mars, the band in between Venus, the moon of Jupiter, Europa and Titan, Saturn’s moon and the Pluto. People are sent to the locations based on the amount of wealth they make.
At the center of it all is Roy, a six-year-old boy, whose life takes a tragic turn when a convict steals his ticket to Mars. Instead of a better future, he is forced to survive on Pluto, a barren world filled with criminals and despair. But everything changes when a mysterious creature arrives who's feared by everyone but Roy finds him kind.
The book shines in its world-building—every location, every rule of this society is described in such detail that it feels real. This book is impossible to put down. The book has powerful storytelling, thrilling action, and deep emotions. Highly recommended!
When humans were being sent to other planets because of Earth's overpopulation, six-year-old Roy and his mother, Emma, were intended for Mars. However, fate steps in as a desperate criminal. Little Roy is sentenced to a life more challenging than hell itself after the man, who is bound for Pluto, exchanges tickets with him. Pluto is a barren wasteland that is only used by criminals, murderers, abductors, and homeless people who are thought to be undeserving. They were given only water. They had to hunt and kill living animals or people in order to obtain nourishment.
Roy, a little child, is thrown into the harsh, cruel, and terrifying world of Pluto. Roy's voyage on Pluto was a daily battle against darkness, brutality, and the ever-present danger of death. He used to be torn apart by memories of her mother. Nevertheless, he persevered through this unfathomable ordeal, which he didn't deserve in the first place.
As the life of young Roy is revealed, the story is incredibly compelling and emotionally stirring.
When humans were being transported to other planets due to Earth's population explosion, six-year-old Roy and his mother, Emma, were meant for Mars. But fate intervenes in the form of a desperate criminal. Young Roy is condemned to a life tougher than hell itself after the man, who is headed for Pluto, swaps tickets with him. Pluto is a desolate wasteland utilized only by criminals, murderers, abductors, and homeless individuals who are presumed to be unworthy. They were only supplied with water. They needed to hunt and slaughter living animals or human beings to get sustenance.
Roy, the innocent child, was thrust into this cruel, bitter, and terror-filled life in Pluto. Roy's journey through Pluto was every day's war against evil, brutality, and the threat of death that awaited him always. He would tear himself apart for memories of her mother. Even so, he survived through this unimaginable process, to which he wasn't entitled even otherwise.
As young Roy's life is unfolded, the tale is highly engaging and emotionally moving.
"Light Of The Mortal God" penned by the author Lucas Deandreis is the first book in the Galaxy Overload book series. The story features a six year old boy Roy. One day, his mom rushed him out of the house in a hurry. Soon, they were standing in front of Cosmo. Cosmo and his people decide who will go to which planet based on the people's income, education, etc.
Roy's mom, Emma and him were given the ticket to Mars. One creepy man stole Roy's ticket and Roy landed up on the worst planet Pluto. Roy was too young to keep himself safe on Pluto. He was found by a man named Sisel and protected by him. What would happen to Roy after Sisel's death?
The storyline is immersive and I couldn't put this book down until I finished it. The cover photo of the book is nice. I appreciate the vivid imagination of the author in creating this fantasy world. I haven't read a story like this. It's unique and refreshing. Looking forward to reading more books by the author.

Six-year-old Roy and his mother, Emma, were meant for Mars, when people were being sent to different planets due to overpopulation on Earth. But fate, in the form of a desperate criminal, intervenes. The man, destined for Pluto, swaps tickets with little Roy, condemning him to a life difficult than hell itself. Pluto is a desolate wasteland, reserved for thieves, murderers, kidnappers, the homeless, all deemed unworthy. Only water was provided to them. For food, they had to hunt and kill living people or animals.
Roy, barely a child, is thrust into this brutal, unforgiving, scary landscapes of Pluto. Roy's journey on Pluto was a daily struggle against violence, darkness and there was constant threat of death. Memories of her mother used to tear him apart. Yet he remained strong throughout this journey of unimaginable hardship which he didn't deserve to begin with.
Exceptionally gripping and emotionally charged story as it unfolds the life of little Roy.
The story is so fast paced, never letting us get bored. Roy and his friends are always on the move, traveling from one planet to another, and each new world throws fresh challenges their way. Roy is a highly realized character who possesses a beautiful heart and is ever willing to go out and fight for others even at the cost of his own life. He will always have a special place in your heart, as will his friends Kaethe, Sean, Tuck, Kordusa, and particularly Roary.
As Earth became too populated and people were being sent to other planets, six-year-old Roy and his mother, named Emma, were slated to go to Mars. However, fate intervenes, acting inspired by the desperation of a criminal. The little boy was sentenced to life on Pluto, who supposedly traded tickets with a man about to be sent to Pluto. Pluto is a wasteland where only criminals, murderers, abductors, and other undeservedly homeless are allowed. They are provided only with water. To feed themselves, they must hunt down and kill living beasts or humans.
Roy, then a small child, is thrown into the harsh, cruel, and terrifying world of Pluto. Roy's day by day journey on Pluto was a fight against darkness, brutality, and death was a common presentiment. He would often be haunted by memories of his mother. However, he lived through the inferno he did not even deserve.
The narration of young Roy's life is a compelling and soul-stirring work of art.

I adored how Roy was able to notice his positive traits when no one else did; it strengthened their relationship so much.
There are many unexpected turns and poignant moments in this book. I was laughing one minute, and then I wanted to cry. With just the right amount of magic, it's the ideal blend of fantasy and science fiction. Despite its depth, the novel maintains its spirit of adventure.
