With several artist co-creators, most notably Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, he co-created Spider-Man, the Fantastic Four, Thor as a superhero, the X-Men, Iron Man, the Hulk, Daredevil, the Silver Surfer, Dr. Strange, Ant-Man and the Wasp, Scarlet Witch, The Inhumans, and many other characters, introducing complex, naturalistic characters and a thoroughly shared universe into superhero comic books. He subsequently led the expansion of Marvel Comics from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation.

I should note that the bulk of the title as given in the Goodreads entry for this item is in fact promotional material that appears on the cover, rather than actually part of the title. According to the credits Roy Thomas used the Howard story "By This Axe I Rule" as the basis for this story. This was an actual Kull story, but was not printed as such in Howard's lifetime. The credits also say that Thomas freely adapted Howard's story, which means he took it in directions that might have been a bit of a suprise to REH. The story metamorphs into one concerning a conspiracy to supplant Kull and install another as the ruler of Valusia. The story also ends with the dreaded to be continued line. Thus we shall have to await subsequent isssue(s) to find out Kull's fate. Still for the lover of stories featuring barbarians not a bad book at all. Happy reading.
