Ten Speed Press provided me with a free copy of this book; opinions are my own. Slim, colorful photos, good ideas for healthy, vibrant, colorful drinks and elixers. Easy to find ingredients, and some new ways to spice up ordinary teas, and milks. Love the Green Tea Peach Sangria, this one will be appearing at my next book club meeting, booze optional lol. The Life Affirming Chickpea Soup was also a favorite for the whole family, simple and easy to make. Grab a copy today, as we are into the throws of spring and summer bounty with fresh produce and greens becoming more and more available. #tenspeedpress #bookreview #supertonics #cookbook #meredithyoungson #bookclubgirlssparta #potterandtenspeedpress #ambassador
Super Tonics is a collection of 75 "recipes" of mostly drinks and elixirs designed to improve health and wellness. I put recipes in quotes since I have difficulty considering many of them actual recipes. The first one is for the perfect glass of iced tea and consists of, you guessed it, tea bags or loose-leaf tea, boiling water, and sweetener (optional). I was also surprised that some recipes included alcohol considering that this is a book geared towards improving health. What I did enjoy were the recipes for nutritious soups; however, these were too few and far between to recommend the book. Ten Speed provided me with a free copy of this book; the opinions are my own.
