Authors Sylvie Stewart Brenda St John Brown Arell Rivers Piper Rayne Marika Ray Tracey Pedersen Roxie Noir MK Meredith Claire Marti Elizabeth Lynx Stina Lindenblatt Tawdra Kandle Melonie Johnson Sophia Henry Hope Ellis Dylann Crush Kameron Claire Serena Bell Amy Award
USA Today bestselling author Serena Bell writes contemporary romance with heat, heart, and humor. A former journalist, Serena has always believed that everyone has an amazing story to tell if you listen carefully, and you can often find her scribbling in her tiny garret office, mainlining chocolate and bringing to life the tales in her head.
Serena’s books have earned many honors, including an RT Reviewers’ Choice Award, Apple Books Best Book of the Month, and Amazon Best Book of the Year for Romance.
When not writing, Serena loves to spend time with her college-sweetheart husband and two hilarious kiddos—all of whom are incredibly tolerant not just of Serena’s imaginary friends but also of how often she changes her hobbies and how passionately she embraces the new ones. These days, it’s stand-up paddle boarding, board-gaming, meditation, and long walks with good friends.
Loved this short and sweet and adorable story! It’s full of humor and swoons and the perfect amount of Christmas goodness. Add in a cute 6-year-old who isn’t afraid to tell it like it is, and you’ve got a heart-filled story that’ll make you smile all the way through.
Ben and Aspen are opposites, but when they’re together, sparks fly and kisses happen…heart-fluttering kisses.
For being such an adorkable nerd, Ben is sexy AF! He certainly brought on the swoons and put little hearts in my eyes. I couldn’t get enough of him.
I thoroughly enjoyed this feel-good story! I look forward to reading the other stories in this anthology.

*** Playing by Heart by Sylvie Stewart***
~5 stars~
The was short and sweet and delightful! Plenty of humor, adorable flirting, and lots of charm. Add in some cute animals and it made this quick read very enjoyable for me.
Grady and Kat were so cute together. After I finished this story, I was left with a big smile on my face.
This was my first by this author and I look forward to reading more from her.
This book is packed with short stories from various authors! I enjoy reading these anthologies to read shorts from favorite authors and find new to me authors. Thanks to all the authors who contributed a work for this wonderful cause! I especially enjoyed getting a new short from Hell by Marika Ray and a great meet cute in Sylvie Stewart's story. Definitely worth picking this one up and support women's heart health awareness!
A fantastic collection of contemporary romance stories, all to support the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women program. Many wonderfully festive reads, including standouts Better Than Christmas by Brenda St John Brown and Serena Bell and Playing by Heart by Sylvie Stewart. The perfect treat to get into the holiday mood!

Brenda St John Brown and Serena Bell’s collaboration is stellar.

They agree to bid on each other at the charity auction, but Claire’s not convinced she’s anything but a charity case to the hot athlete. Seems to be a lead-in to a longer story.

ANTS IN SANTA’S PANTS by Amy Awad //// Levi Kingsman and Olive meet when he rents a room from her for a night. And what a night it is!
Some of my favorite stories in this anthology are Heart Healthy Hot Sticky Buns by Kameron Claire, Hell of a Heart On by Marika Ray, Playing by Heart by Sylvie Stewart and Brenda Saint John and Serena Bell's. I love Jane and Christof from Ms. Claire's story. The chemistry between Jane and her younger man is off the charts. Jane gets tons of needed confidence from the spicy chef. I love Christof and the way he tells it like it is. I love Cheyenne in Marika Ray's story, she steals every single scene she is in. Aspen is definitely raising her to be independent and fierce. I love how Aspen just jumps in and takes care of all the things including the charity chilli cook off and I love how Ben holds back because he feels unable to be a great date. Their story is sweet and cute. Kat and Grady are a cute fit for each other and their harmony is sweet. I love how he goes all in and takes his role of protector so seriously so quickly. Their meet cute at the pet wash is just adorable. Ms. Bell and Ms. Saint John provide a slow burn between Connor and Mika. Their second chance sparks big and bright and I love all the secondary characters in this story and I definitely want to read all the Wilder stories. These stories all fit nicely together and are very enjoyable.
This was such a fun anthology! I've only read a couple of these authors before (Marika Ray, Sylvie Stewart, and Serena Bell) and heard of a couple others, but most of them were new to me authors. I read every story except for Piper Rayne's. I have not read any of her books before, and each chapter was a different character, I'm assuming from a series, so I was lost. Most of the other stories were easy to follow along with. A lot you can tell were from a series, but it wasn't hard to follow along. I loved that there is something for everyone, different heat levels, different tropes, different ages. I loved the couple of stories that were a scavenger hunt, they were really fun. This is definitely worth picking up
I was honoured to get this as an advance copy of this book & this is my honest review.
Marika has been teasing us with Ben's story for quite a while now and she definitely hasn't disappointed us. Ben is what you can class as your typical nerd including glasses that makes him look like Clark Kent.... swoon!!!!
Aspen is a single mother to an absolute cute, adorable & sassy 6year old. Ben's first meets Cheyenne at the library and he can't believe how much this little girl loves the computer game that he has designed.
Aspen & Ben accidentally find themselves under the mistletoe so they do what needs must and all of a sudden a certain 6 year old is shouting "Mummy's kissing Santa!".......
I love how this is written as lovely light Christmas read. You can read this as a stand alone but once you read this you will definitely want to go onto read the rest of the books set in Auburn Hills aka Hell
I could give this book 📚 a 10 🌟star review I would but I can only give it a 5 🌟 review
Better than Christmas by Brenda St John Brown & Serena Bell I am was honoured to receive this book as an advanced copy and this is my honest review.
The best line of this book, hands down has to be.... "The ghost of Christmas past has abs…" This just sets the scene perfectly.
Connor is Rachel's brother & Rachel is best friends with Mika. Years ago Connor & Mika hooked up but never told Rachel as they didn't want the weirdness.
Connor & Mika bump into each other just before Christmas whe they have to be Christmas Elves and they realise they still have the spark that could light up a massive fireworks display.
The very first mention of the character Brody I was a little confused as to who he was and how he fitted in but a couple of pages later it was revealed. This is the only downside to this book so I would happily rate this book a 5 🌟 star
Wonderful group of short stories! The authors really went all out so we could have some fun reading. I haven’t finished all the stories, but I plan to, however I headed straight for Hell of a Heart-On by Marika Ray. It’s part of her Hell Series and the town is a riot. Met Ben in another book – he’s the resident genius in this group of friends. When I first read about him, he was...lonely. Aspen is a new “girl” in town, who ties Ben up in knots. And she has a cutie daughter who latches onto Ben, and he to her. In this story, let’s just say Santa gets his groove on and everyone gets a present! Adorable story, great characters, and I can sum Ben up with: a-dork-able!
Great collection for the Merry times! I just finished Stina Lindenblatt’s ‘Mistletoe Wishes’ and have to honestly say it’s really fascinating how all the developments of the plot can evolve within this small amount of pages 👍🏼 Ally and Gavin‘s love story ticks off all the triggers that warm your hearts and get you into proper holiday spirit, it’s so worth reading!
This book is packed with short stories from various authors! These authors really went all out so we could have some fun sexy reading. This is a great cause for this Anthology for "American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women". I highly recommend this book!!
Holiday Heart-On is an anthology featuring 19 awesome rom-com writers. This was a wonderful group of short stories that were a lot of fun to read! Some of the authors were ones that I knew and loved, and some were new authors that I want to check out more of!
Of the authors I had read, I really liked Better than Christmas by Brenda St. John Brown and Serena Bell. This was a cute best friends brother romance. I knew Connor from reading the Wilder novels, which I think allowed me to connect to this story more. I think I liked this story because there was a previous connection between the characters, it makes it feel more believable and like the relationship could develop so quickly.
I also found myself enjoying the short stories that had women in their 40's who were either widowers or divorced, single parents. My particular favourites were Always Be My Babka by Melonie Johnson and Hooking Her Heart by Sophia Henry. I have already put books by these authors on my Goodreads TBR list!
Some of my other favourites were stories that either took place over a period of months, like Christmas Eve with KXBZ by Roxie Noir or that had previous relationships like Mistletoe Wishes by Stina Lindenblatt.
The best part of this anthology was that it is for charity, the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women movement, and they introduced the charity and "funraiserrs" in unique and different ways. This short story collection will have something for everyone, different reads and different steam levels.
Thank you to the authors for a copy of this book. All opinions are 100% mine.
These are some short stories for just about everyone’s taste. It is a great way to contribute for the American Heart Association. Sylvia Stewart Playing by Heart This is a cute, sweet short story. I hated that mean girls had made Kat self conscious and doubt herself. Kat had a wonderful friend that was there to build her up. Kat had volunteered to help with raising money for the American Heart Association. It was funny with some of the animals she had to give a bath. It was nice when Grady came over to talk to her with his dog. She had a crush on him by just seeing him in the park. I was happy to see Grady give her a lot of attention. Of course there are always mean girls around that can spoil something good!
Brenda St. John & Serena Bell Better Than Christmas This is a second chance story. I am sure Mika was a little nervous flying across country to see her best friend Rachel. She was torn by wanting to see Connor (Rachel’s brother) and not wanting to see him. A few years back, they had got together when Connor visited his sister at college and met Mika. The two felt guilty and never spoke about it. I think Mika was about to have a heart attack when Conner comes into the house as his skiing trip was cancelled. It was fate as the two were still attracted to each other and were put together as elves helping out people in the town. This was a cute story.
Arell Rivers Hang Your Heart Stephanie and Blake work for the same company and both are up for partner, but only one can get the job. It was so funny because they both had to participate in a fundraiser for the Heart Association by wearing red dresses and red shoes. I can’t imagine how uncomfortable that had to be for Blake as he never wore heals before! It was nice though that it gave them time to get to know each other better.
Piper Rayne Hockey Hotties Heart-On Aiden, Ford and Maksim all played for the same hockey team in Florida, and got talked in to doing an Olympic type competition at the American Heart Association event to raise money. I have no idea why Ford is so against Langley, but he sure wants to beat him and his team in the competition. I do know he used to be his best friend and did something to Ford’s sister. It was funny how some of the personality’s came out during the competition. I am curious what happens in the next book.
Maria Ray Hell of a Heart-On This is a cute short story. It was cute how Ben was such a nerd and couldn’t talk to beautiful women because he was too nervous. He had made enough off his game apps that he was a millionaire now. Ben’s first time talking to Aspen was such a bust. I always hate to hear how hard it is for mother’s like Aspen try to raise her daughter Cheyenne by herself. I love little Cheyenne as she was so cute and funny.
Tracey Pedersen Hardware Hard-On This is a hot second chance romance for Milly and Colton twenty years after high school. The two seemed to be meant for each other when they were in high school until he left one night without a word. It is so funny how they meet again once Colton moves back to her town.
MK Meredith Heartily in Love I can’t imagine how hard it would be to get a chance to train a movie star and get Janey’s name out there for others to hire her. Luckily Janey had some good friends and hooked her up with training Jack for a half marathon to raise money for the American Heart Association. It was funny how all of Jack’s friends were all for this to help his reputation except for Jack. It was fun watching the two get to know each other while they were training.
Roxie Noir Christmas Eve with KXBZ Fletcher is hired at the radio station because of his Smokey, cool voice. Coby works with him on PR for the station so the two get to know each other. I liked the way she always kidded him. The two seemed to get closer than was expected!
Claire Marti Love by Chance I can’t imagine what Camille felt when she walked into her boyfriend’s office with him on top of his desk with his boss under him. I was glad Camille walked out. It was funny that a good looking man texted her his picture and told her where he was and waiting on her. He had been ghosted and given a wrong text number. I loved that Camille went and met Trent. He even went with her the next day for the day for the Go Red scavenger hunt. It was nice watching the two get to know each other.
Elizabeth Lynx Christmas Cabin Jill agreed to hiking in the mountains for the Castle Ridge Hospital fundraiser that was raising funds for the Heart Association. But even though Jill was a nurse she did not do exercise well. She tried to get healthier a couple of years ago after her father died of an heart attack, but eating healthy was as far as she got. Jill’s sister was into hiking and Jill urged her on when a Jill got tired and had to rest. I don’t think I would want to be left alone. I was glad she found Jack when he was calling for help. Jack have been rich, but it didn’t help him when he was lost and hurt. The two had some mixed up conversations that turned out funny.
Stina Lindenblatt Mistletoe Wishes This was such a sweet story. Ally used to be best friends with Gavin and even fell in love with him but they were never single at the same time. She left town to teach up north and is back now for Christmas. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to have someone’s heart you used to know. It had to be even harder since it was Gavin’s ex girlfriend. Now she is back in town to spend Christmas with her father who is the captain at Gavin’s fire station. It was sweet when Gavin and Ally talked. Too bad they didn’t talk a long time ago.
Tawdry Kandle Rock Hard Around the Christmas Tree Bria’s sister is married to a member of the Queen of England’s family. His cousin. Lord Rhys Corbyn has always been a pain in her side. I was surprised when her sister asked her to be his pretend girlfriend while they are in the states to help Rhys reputation. I wondered if Rhys treated Bria the way he did because he had feelings for her and didn’t know how to show it.
Melonie Johnson Always Be My Babka This is a short story about a widowed mother of two teenager twins who has a bakery. It was cute how the girls asked their mother to bake a cake for a cakewalk at their school to fix her up with a doctor.
Sophia Henry Hooking Her Heart This is a sweet story. I know it had to be hard for Claire raising two boys alone after her divorce four years ago. She does keep super busy and she is volunteering at the Holiday Heart-On Charity. Claire meets Nick when he comes over to help her and her two boys with the dog washing. I loved how the two flirted with each other even though Nick was so much younger. I felt bad that Claire didn’t think anyone would bid on her at the charity auction. This brought her and Nick to make a pact as he was being auctioned too. But does everything go the way they thought it would. I encourage you to read the short story. I was given a copy and voluntarily wrote a review.
Hope Ellis Santa Clause is Coming Leigh was a great nurse and looked out for everyone in her hospitable. Walker flips houses and had to watch his stress level as he had a heart disease that was operated on a few years ago. It was funny how each of their coworkers knew them so well. I am sure no one was surprised when at the beginning of the Newlywed show they were in to raise money for the American Heart Association Walker did something crazy.
Dylan Crush Heart-On for Her Beaver This is a sweet book. I felt bad that Leo turned Shelby down a few years ago because he was Shelby’s brother’s best friend. Now that Leo is back in town, he gets a chance to help Shelby with a job she wants. It was sweet how the two talked and found out things about each other.
Kameron Claire Heart Healthy Hot Sticky Buns Jane’s friend wants her to write an article about the dishes being made for the American Heart Fundraiser. I thought it was funny that Christof overheard Jane and her friend talking. I don’t think I would believe Christof that he could make healthy food that tasted good. It was crazy as Jane and Christof had a connection and Jane was 15 years older than him.
Amy Award Ants in Santa’s Pants This is quick story about Levi moving to Denver from Florida. Can you imagine what he went through landing in Denver Christmas Eve with it snowing almost like a blizzard? He is looking for the cabin he rented before he goes to his family’s cabin for Christmas Eve. He finds more than what he was looking for at the cabin!
I was given a copy of this anthology and voluntarily wrote a review.
Better than Christmas was a fun romance bringing some of your favorite Wilders together. This is part of the Holiday Heart-on anthology and all proceeds will be benefit the Go Red campaign of the American Heart Association. Can’t go wrong with this Christmas edition and you may find a new author or 2 you’ll love.
*Piper Rayne - Hockey Hotties Heart-On* Oh wow, I was so excited to get some more interaction with some of our favourite Florida Fury players. A beautiful glimpse at the gang taking on some Christmas in July shenanigans for a very worthy cause - American Heart Association and Go Red for Women.
So many other great stories in this anthology as well. Sylvie Stewart’s was sweet and adorable.
Loads of everyone’s favourite authors to chooses from.
The charity anthology put together by this group of authors is always one of the highlights of my fall, and this year's is no exception! I'm still working my way through this one, but here's some quick reviews for what I've read so far:
Better than Christmas by Brenda St. John Brown and Serena Bell is a best friend's brother story and a features secondary characters from Bride and Tested and Wilder Adventures as MCs. It's perfect for fans of the previous books *and* for newcomers! (Side note: I've never been so glad to be reading and not actually listening to that karaoke scene... ;))
Rating: 4 stars / A-
Hooking her Heart by Sophia Henry is a short and sweet, age gap/charity date auction story between a single mother and the hot young hockey player she met earlier that morning while washing dogs. Absolutely adorable!
Rating: 4 stars / A-
Always Be My Babka by Melonie Johnson is another fun entry into her MILFs Just Wanna Have Fun series (the first one was in the A Season for Love anthology) but can absolutely be read as a standalone. It's a short and sweet story about the possibility of finding love again after loss--but don't read it while hungry, because OMG does that babka sound delicious ;)
Rating: 4 stars / A-
(Book as a whole earns 5 stars, because great stories + awesome charity project = 5 stars)
First review is for Stina Lindenblatt's story. Mistletoe Wishes. This wonderful heartfelt story takes us back to Copper Creek. Gavin and Ally were best friends before a car accident killed Gavin's girlfriend and Ally received her heart in a transplant. Ally had always been in love with Gavin but felt very guilty that she survive and Madison had to died for that to happen,. The town was having a fundraiser for Go Red for Women.. all for womens heart health. Ally came back to town for it and was pushed together with Gavin by everyone in the town. Singing at the seniors centre and kissing under the mistletoe and making a wish made them realize there feelings were mutual. Came together now and forever. Second review is for Piperrayne's story Hockey Hotties Heart on. We get all catch up with some of the gang from the Hockey hottie series. Ford, Adien and Malksin have been asked to compete in a Battle of the Star's for the charity Go Red for Women. Join by Paige, Lena and Pailey. Also competing is Warner Langley. Not a good thing. The two teams battle of different events for the most donations. Guess who wins. lol
This anthology of Christmas shorts that have been put together to help The American Heart Association Go Red for Women was just an amazing, funny, sweet, romantic and all great read!!! I have found some new authors that I am gonna check out by reading this anthology and of course there were some I read just a couple from and definitely want to check more out. Then there is one of my favorite authors Piper Rayne that I got to see some favorite characters that I've missed and that was just awesome to read!!! And I know some more are from books so I'll be checking those out!! So definitely some great reads and for a great cause so no reason you shouldn't one- click this book!!! And even gift it to some friends after all the sales are going to a great cause!!!!
This anthology is jam packed full of amazing stories!
I especially enjoyed reading about my favourite Hockey Hotties by Piper Rayne!
It was fun catching up with everyone and seeing what shenanigans they were getting up to and though they weren't on the ice they were just a competitive as ever!
I also enjoyed reading Hell of a Heart by Marika Ray! I love her Hell series and I was desperate for Ben to have his own story and it did not disappoint.
This is such a fantastic collection for a wonderful cause. Well done to all that are involved.
The set up with the charity events was fun but the meet up between the MMC and FMC was a little force but it’s a reverse age-gap and it’s hard to makes me dislike that trope. The tension in the story was minor and I like that it was worked out quickly like real people would. I wish there was a little more steam, but that’s just a personal preference. The low heat works for the story and I might be a bad idea to add more anyway.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is an amazing anthology from some spectacular authors for a great cause, women's heart disease. Each author puts their own spin on on bringing attention to the cause while bringing the joy and laughter of the holidays to our lives.
Playing By Heart, Sylvie Stewart: Kat is a volunteer groomer. Grady, a musician, brings his labrador and falls head over paws. This was an adorable story. I really loved the chemistry between Kat and Grady, and there were some hilarious moments. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Better Than Christmas, Serena Bell & Brenda St John Brown: Mika - Rachel Perez from Walk On The Wilder Side's best friend - once had a one-night stand with Rachel's brother, Connor (who's also Brody's bestie). When they find themselves forced together for a charity Rent-an-Elf, they can no longer keep lying to themselves about their ongoing mutual attraction. I really loved this novella which returns to Rush Creek, and the extended Wilder/Perez family. We got a tiny peek at Mari and Kane's life, plus I love that we got a little bit of domesticated Brody and Rachel. But obviously, the main focus was Connor and Mika. I really enjoyed the push and pull between them at the start of the story and the parallels with Brody and Rachel's story. Their chemistry was palpable from the beginning. I loved Brody being the calming, rational advisor to Connor, and there was a really sweet moment with the other Wilder women, reminding us how welcoming they are to new people. There are also some hilarious moments: Connor's wrapping; and, well... both their singing. This was such a lovely addition to the Wilder series and that epilogue. Perfection. In case it's in any doubt, I REALLY love this series! Now I need to read Bride & Tested, and learn more about Evie and Lincoln. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hang Your Heart, Arell Rivers: Blake and Stephanie are rivals for an upcoming promotion. Tasked with taking part in a fundraising scavenger hunt, they grow closer. A pretty cute story with some heat, though I do think it could have done with a little more humour at times, especially given the fact that Blake was wearing a dress for the hunt. I really liked the ending though, and their vulnerability. ❤️❤️❤️
Hockey Hotties Heart-On, Piper Rayne: Cute story with the characters from Hockey Hotties series, but I was a little lost at times with the number of characters. I'm sure it will be enjoyable for anyone who's read the series, and I will be revisiting it once I read the series, because a) hockey and b) hotties 😉 ♥️♥️♥️
Hell Of A Heart-On, Marika Ray: Nerdy App designer Ben meets struggling single mum Aspen and they come to a mutually beneficial agreement. This was an adorable quick read, which actually left me wanting more of them. Set in Hell, I haven’t read any of these stories by Marika Ray, but I was immediately rooting for them both and will definitely be reading more from this author. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hardware Hard-On, Tracey Pedersen: Childhood sweethearts Colton and Milly reconnect after twenty years when he walks into her hardware store in need of some tiny bolt cutters for a rather intimate entanglement. This scenario was HILARIOUS. I loved their connection, even though it went from 0-100 in the blink of an eye. Another author I would love to read more of.❤️❤️❤️❤️
Heartly In Love, MK Meredith: Janey is an up-and-coming trainer who's been offered a huge break that could help her become a celebrity trainer. Unfortunately, her client is Jack Kent, Hollywood bad boy. I really enjoyed this story. Again, a new author to me, it was clear I was reading within an established series, but it was easy to follow and I loved Janey and Jack's connection. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Christmas Eve With KXBZ, Roxie Noir: Coby and Fletcher are work colleagues at the local radio station. Despite Coby's attempts to keep their relationship professional, neither can seem to keep their hands off the other. This was a super quick, steamy, and cute story. If like me, you have a bit of a deep voice kink, this one's for you. 😉 ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Love By Chance, Claire Marti: When a handsome stranger pops up in Camille's messages, the wrong number leads to a partner for a scavenger hunt, and much more. I loved Camille and Trent immediately. Their chemistry was palpable right from the start and Trent's vulnerability was beautifully written. I loved their hunour, and Camille's sassiness. And that ending? 😍 Will definitely be reading more from this author. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Christmas Cabin, Elizabeth Lynx: Jill is on a charity hike when she comes to the rescue of ATGNI billionaire Jack. Neither of them are outdoorsy, and while they try to find their way to safety, their attraction and chemistry builds. I really enjoyed this story. Both characters felt authentic and it left me wanting more. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Mistletoe Wishes, Stina Lindenblatt: Ally has always loved her best friend, Gavin. When his girlfriend died in an accident, Ally received her donor heart. Now she's back in town for the first time in a year, facing the ghosts from her past. I absolutely LOVED this story. I empathised with Ally's vulnerability both about her scar and the heart inside her. Gavin was so sweet and sexy. I will definitely be reading more from the Copper Creek series. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Rock Hard Around The Christmas Tree, Tawdra Kandle: Bria is asked to help reform the public image of her childhood nemesis, Lord Corbyn, by acting as his fake date. I'm not usually a fan of Royal romances, however, this was a pretty cute read. It's obviously set within an existing series but was able to follow everything happily and I definitely will be reading that bonus! 😉 ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Always Be My Babka, Melonie Johnson: Widow Sari is tasked with bringing her signature babka to a fundraising event. Hot doctor, Asher, is desperate to get his hands on her babka for Hanukkah. This was an insta-love cute read. I loved the elements at the nursing home, and the puns were hilarious. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Hooking Her Heart, Sophia Henry: At a charity date auction, single mum Claire, and NHL player, Nick, agree to bid on each other to avoid ending up with a creep. A reverse age-gap hockey romance? Yes, please! I loved their chemistry and wanted to read more. ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Santa Claus Is Coming, Hope Ellis: Leigh and Walker Leffersbee agree to compete in a charity version of The Newlywed Game. A new series to me, I loved their connection immediately, and their chemistry was 🔥🔥🔥Will be adding their origin story to my to-read list! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Heart-On For Her Beaver, Dylann Crush: Shelby reconnects with Leo, her brother's best friend. I mean, you had me at that title! This was an adorable story and the puns... Well, they write themselves. I was simultaneously swooning and giggling. Leo and Shelby were so cute together! Will definitely read more from this author. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Heart Healthy Hot Sticky Bubs, Kameron Claire: Editor Jane is done with men. That's until handsome chef and restaurateur Christof tempts her with his buns... Oh, and his heart-healthy sticky buns 😉 I loved everything about this reverse age-gap spicy romance. Their banter was hilarious and the chemistry was off the charts. Another author I will be revisiting. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Ants In Santa's Pants, Amy Award: NFL player Levi gets snowed in at his Airbnb and immediately falls (literally) for Olive. I absolutely LOVED this story. Both Levi and Olive were a little chaotic, and they complemented one another so well. This was a sweet, sexy and adorably charming instalove tale. Will be catching up on the rest of this series. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Super cute story about a single mom with a precocious daughter who falls for a rich nerd of a man. All her daughter wants for Christmas is for her mom to be happy and be part of a family. Ben and Aspen make a deal together. Aspen teaches Ben how to flirt, and he will make a fuss over Aspen so her daughter does not think her mom as lonely and unloved.
Ben and Aspen discover they are attracted to each other. Her daughter definitely gets her Christmas wish.

This was a sexy and amusing story. Blake and Stephanie are competing for the same promotion at the Elite Placement Agency. Blake and Stephanie are taking part in a charity called "Hang Your Heart". One of the requirements is to wear a red dress and heels. Well, you can imagine how comical this is as Blake dons a dress and heels.
The two of them share a strong attraction to each other and the sexual tension between them is delicious. Arell will always make you feel good after reading her stories and there is always a guaranteed HEA.

This story had me laughing throughout. The "Beaver" jokes were hilarious. Shelby desperately wants to impress the Beaver Sanctuary to hire her on full time. She decides to use a beaver costume to bring attention to the Beaver Sanctuary. Shelby discovers Leo James is coming back for Christmas. He has been gone years, but she has never forgotten him. She has always had a major crush on him. Shelby had bared her feelings to Leo only to have them shot down. Leo brushed her off and she was devastated. She hoped when he returned, he had forgotten what she had said to him years ago.
Leo did remember. He had wanted to express his feelings back to Shelby, but her brother is his friend and he did not want to jeopardize that friendship. He rejected Shelby and has regretted it ever since. This story was very entertaining and lighthearted.

An enjoyable and amusing story about two people snowed in a cabin with no heat. All Levi wanted to do was go home for Christmas and share it with his family. He rented an Airbnb cabin instead of staying over with his family. There was going to be a brood of his cousins and he really needed to chill and relax. When he knocked on the door, he was met by a captivating woman dressed in a onesie. When the heat goes out in the cabin, the heat between Levi and Olive accelerates.
This was a steamy and comical story that will definitely get you in the mood for Christmas. I found this couple irresistible and snuggly.
I totally enjoyed the novellas I read in Holiday Heart On: A Holiday Romantic Comedy Anthology; the proceeds from this anthology will benefit the American Heart Association’s Go Red for Women movement, an initiative designed to increase women’s heart health awareness and serve as a catalyst for change to improve the lives of women globally. This is a cause close to my heart as a heart attack survivor. Each story was written by one of nineteen amazing romance authors featuring new stories that might be part of a current series or a stand alone; wonderful romance to binge. Each author brings their own touch to their story and focus on the cause while bringing the joy and laughter of the holidays to our lives. This book is packed with short stories from various authors! I enjoy reading these anthologies to read shorts from favorite authors and find new to me authors. Thanks to all the authors who contributed a work for this wonderful cause. The stories that I did read were wonderful and in theory raised a large amount of money.

This is a review of Playing by Heart by Sylvie Stewart - part of the Holiday Heart-On Anthology
Cute and sweet 5 stars
I’m a big fan of Sylvie Stewart - she’s great at filling her stories with a combination of comedy and likeable, relatable characters. While this is the first short story of hers I’ve read - she still manages to make it everything I hoped and expected. But that’s not to say it didn’t leave me wanting more - but in the best possible way.
At a Christmas in July pet pageant (I mean, why the hell not?) Kat luck turns around when her crush turns up with his adorable dog. Better yet, he’s in a bind and the only one who can help him out, is Kat! And cue the music!
I liked both our characters instantly and they have the cutest chemistry. It’s quite nice to read a story with such innocent smittenness. It’s not that the story is innocent (although there’s only kissing), it’s just that they’re so totally adorable that it feels fresh.
For such a short story, I still definitely believed in their connection. Of course I wanted more. And of course I wish it was longer. But I was sucked in immediately and was left satisfied and with a smile on my face. I couldn’t ask for much more.

Holiday Heart-On: A Steamy Romantic Comedy Anthology was written to support the American Heart Association Go Red for Women! I love anthologies! They are a great way to read more from authors you know and a way to get a peak at authors that are new to you and if it goes to a good cause that is definitely a bonus! I am reviewing these stories: Hockey Hotties Heart-On by Piper Rayne Three of our favorite guys from the Florida Fury hockey team and their significant others are signed up to compete on a Christmas in July game show charity competition event to support the American Heart Association so get ready for some fun, some not always so friendly competition and some steamy moments because these guys love their ladies, but their competitive streak knows no bounds.
Hooking Her Heart by Sophia Henry This story seems to be just a teaser for a relationship that I would love more of. A mutual agreement at Holiday Heart-On Charity Auction between Nikolai Antonov (Nick), a young 25 year old Charlotte Monarchs hockey player and Claire Golden, a 43 year old single mom with two boys has the potential to become so much more.
This holiday rom-com charity anthology is an event I look forward to every year. Several of the authors participating are ones who I read regularly, and they’ve given me the opportunity to read more about worlds and characters I already know and love. The others are newer to me, but after reading their contributions year after year, they are no less loved. (And every year I promise myself I’m going to one-click the heck out of their backlists, and slowly but surely, I’m getting caught up.) The fastest way to my heart is through laughter. These authors did that with style and flair. The stories in this anthology covered the spectrum of romantic comedy themes, including best friends to lovers, enemies to lovers, sibling’s best friend, and my ultimate catnip: second chances. so long as you’re prepared to laugh, this book has something for just about every taste. I can’t wait until it’s time that we get to come back and do it again next year. I received a complimentary copy of this book from one of the authors.
