I’m just a small-town girl working undercover as a sex slave in order to expose an international human trafficking ring.
Sounds crazy, right?
But I’m not alone. The irresistible André Chevalier is with me. Psychoanalyst, philosopher, gentlemen, and friend—the Frenchman is to hot sex what crack is to an addict.
I expected danger, risk, exploitation, and constant fear. But I never expected to fall in love.
MY BOOKS in the order I wrote them: Elizabeth Bondage* Bound and Freed* Carmen's NY Romance* Amy's Forbidden Fantasy* Karma What Wendy Wants Fate Kink* (Fate #2) Promises to Keep Abuse Trilogy Accuse (Abuse #2) Avenge (Abuse #3) Demon Blessed
André (the sexy sex counsellor) is 36 years old in the above books. In ABUSE he is 26 (to 28).The stars* mean heavy BDSM. André is in all of my books except "What Wendy Wants," "Promises to Keep," and "Demon Blessed."
Wow! These books were definitely very, very heavy, and often extremely difficult to listen to, but they were so well-written. I loved that—unlike many books that focus on illegal sex trades—this series NEVER fetishized the abuse & turtles that the victims & survivors experienced. There was a strong focus on BDSM with each book, but consent was pretty much always front & center.
I loved how the author did such a fantastic job of highlighting the horrifying truth of what atrocities the wealthiest people are capable of committing—and getting away with. And how the narrative is so easily & so often flipped on the victim rather than the perpetrator. There was also a tremendous amount of focus on other very real issues, such as domestic violence, sexual, verbal, emotional and physical abuse, poverty, lack of healthcare access, systemic issues with our justice system, and the foster care system, and so on.
This series was very powerful to read and was very thought provoking. I’m so pleasantly surprised by the authors skilled ability to write with a purpose of educating, empowering, and entertaining her readers while also extolling the virtues of therapy and healing, and never exploiting the unspeakable horrors that the survivors endured by warping those vile experiences into something “erotic” like so many other authors do.
TRIGGER WARNINGS!!! All three of these stories are contemporary romances with a heavy dose of BDSM. However, the backstory to all three is sex trafficking, and horrific physical and sexual abuse of both women and children. If you have a problem with any of these issues then PLEASE do not read and then give a one star review because you either DNF or didn't like the content - you HAVE been warned!!!
Loved this trilogy - the women and men involved have all suffered themselves from severe sexual and physical abuse and they are stories of both tragedy and triumph over adversity. The books are a decent length, unusual for erotic romance, and I could not put them down - although had to limit myself to one story per night due to length. If you love BDSM romance with a dark and heavy backstory then you will absolutely love these books. Highly recommended.
The book is what I’d call classic BDSM but with a twist. It’s not about BDSM as much as it’s about international human trafficking. I couldn’t put it down. The other good thing is that it’s a very long book. When you think you’ve just about finished it, you’ll notice you only read about 30% or so. The overlaying story held my interest until the last page. It’s a trilogy that reads like one book.
I almost gave up part way through the first book because of the BDSM violence, which is not really my thing. I’m glad I stuck with it because while the subject matter was super disturbing, the heroic aspects of all three books was really eye opening. Trafficking in all forms is so heartbreaking and everyone needs a hero. André Chevalier is that hero! His character is so cleverly crafted, he’s the reason I kept reading. And I’m glad I did!
