❥ 𝑱𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒆 Strong FBI agent with her own opinions and a backbone.
❥ 𝑪𝒐𝒓𝒔𝒐 Badass. And how cool is the name Corso?!
✥ 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒐𝒌 The idea about a love story between an fbi agent and a mob boss is nice and I like these kind of books. The writing style and plot were good and this story is a quick read. But the first book in this series was by far the best!
This was another book from the DeLuca family line that I enjoyed. The storyline was good and I loved the main characters. I hated the fact that the brother had to die but I understand why. I would recommend.
Oh my! This is another exciting and superb story. It grabs your attention like you can't believe! It has a surprise for you it's the one that you can't see coming but overall it's one you can enjoy! Corso and Jessie’s relationship has some great moments, which I enjoyed because reading Corso's feelings as they developed in first POV puts another layer of tenderness to his character. Plus their drama and the suspense that surrounding Jessie’s mom and her sister is full of deceptions and she is caught in the middle trying to find what happened to them, but this keeps you on the edge wondering what happens next, with that said the pacing isn’t fast. There are parts that makes you want them to get it done, but their conflicts and banter is witty and it makes you smile While other drama is adding more stakes. Jessie is a FBI agent that acts as she hates all criminals but she still wants to have sex with Corso this sometimes overshadows their quieter moments. Now Corso's a DeLuca though he has a medical degree this is unusual for a mafia boss but don't get me wrong he is still a DeLuca with all of the DeLuca traits. Now I must tell you again about their chemistry its undeniable, it's sizzling hot and heartfelt with interactions that have high-stakes situations. For example, I thought the puzzles where a nice touch it helped their togetherness and show how they worked as a couple. Their moments of emotional intimacy deepened their relationship even with the dead partner/brother between them. I can say the story is compelling, with characters that are well written. Despite it all I think you will be rooting for this couple and turning the pages to see how they solve the problems facing them. This is romance with vengeance and secrets with all it's glory to enjoy, plus this is one story that I couldn't put my reader down even to fan myself and believe me its hot. It makes me excited to read the next episode in the next DeLuca saga. I give this one as all of the DeLuca stories five stars so enjoy !!!
I don't read instant love books. I will never consciously choose one. So this is my warning to any other reader who doesn't like them, this is as insta-love as it gets!
There are many things I could break down in this novel that I hate. There is no shortage of scenes, topics, etc. But I won't. I will focus on the biggest of them all.
This is John Wick on meth. It is basically plagiarism and parody rolled into one. I had to force myself to finish because my end goal is Enzo DeLuca and I must believe that all of this leads to something great or I might as well call it a day now.
This was so bad! The pacing makes NO sense. I was appalled to realise that at least two weeks' worth of events took place in less than 48 hours. Maybe 30 and that is me being generous. But then the author did choose this John Wick rip-off of a story.
What hurts the most is that there was so much to explore here. How would Jessie walk that line of black and white with all the grey she discovers?
What kind of man is Corso DeLuca and can he leave The Governor? Also, all the things we could have done with Dani! Not to mention an explanation as to why Joseph hates law enforcement this much.
It has been said in many reviews but the deleted scene was the best part of this novel. It also explained the conversation in the final chapter and showed us that we could have had a full and sensible novel.
Is it a limit within the anthology? Why is the world build so strong but the delivery weak?
I just don't know anymore.
I also saw some good sex scenes in our future if, once again, this story didn't need to take place over 30 hours.
I don't know what to expect next but I need a break if I am to keep my sanity on my quest to Enzo DeLuca because this was the point where I asked myself repeatedly, 'is it worth it?'
Ma'am you wrote the hell out of this book here! Whew..... 🔥 As I delve deeper into this DeLuca series, the men have become more interesting, intense and savage! Miss Jessie is heartbroken yet again, and only has revenge on her mind. Losing Greg has shattered her, and she believes that Corso DeLuca is responsible, as his name was one of the last words Greg mumbled. However, Jessie walking into the Governor like she did, gave her a rude awakening! Things weren't what they seemed, and she couldn't tell enemy from friend anymore. Corso DeLuca, is a brilliant, yet complicated man! There is so much more to this man who born into a life he couldn't escape. He would honor what Greg asked him to do, as he is man of his word. But, he had no idea that Jessie would affect him the way she did. He wanted to have her, consume her, possess her and everything in between! To the world he was a savage, but for Jessie he would be her everything! These two were something else! The push and pull was crazy, as neither wanted to give up their position of dominance. However, once they began to talk, the chemistry set in, and they began to put the pieces together that Greg left for them; their bond was sealed for life! Always beware of snakes, as they are often closer than you think! Corso was a mastermind, how the tech was set-up in the Governor! When he said, "House, protect all DeLuca's", I knew it was going down! I loved this installment, and can't wait to get right into the next one. Great job! 👍👍👍
This is the first book in the DeLuca Universe that I've read. This was a very good story—it kept me thoroughly engaged. However ... Ya' gotta roll with the timeline and let's be frank—lust can take you to places you never thought you'd venture. Ya' also gotta love a couple that know what they both want—eventually!
So many quotes that was so good that I had to share them in this review...
“Fucking criminals with kids and bridal registries, unbelievable.” And, unacceptable. Why do they get to be happy and live full lives after snuffing out others? Thirty-seven years and I still haven’t found the one, yet a retired hitman finds his soulmate. Life is a bizarre crossroads of unjust ironies. —Jessie
"Jessie," he sighs, threading his fingers through mine. "What are you doing?" —Corso "Saying thank you to a nice guy." —Jessie He chuffs. “Fire only knows how to burn.” —Corso
"You're inside my vault. No windows. Hidden exits. Escape tunnels. A mastermind and his trusted assistant. You know… crime family shit.” —Corso
You and Josie are genetic replicas, but character is revealed in the choices we make as individuals. Not by birthright or family name. —Corso
Highly Recommended: Read. This. Book!
PLEASE NOTE: If you purchased the 'Savage Bloodline Anthology' then you already have access to this story and others featuring The Deluca Family.
When I first read about Corso in the box set I couldn't stop talking about Siera London's genius of these characters and the mastermind behind the fortress The Governor. Corso DeLuca knew what being a Boss meant in every sense of the word. And when Jessie Nucalla entered his world he wasn't letting her go. Now I'm not going spoil this book for other readers by giving too much information. Just know that this is not your ordinary Mafia story. No no no. There are twists and turns in this book that will have your jaw dropping and saying no way. Reading Corso again was sooo amazing and enjoyable. I am STILL in awe of The Governor. That place is wicked!! Corso and Jessie are definitely one of my favorite couples in the DeLuca family. I'm glad they got their HEA. I hope we see them again in future books. I highly recommend this book by Siera London.
Talk about taking twists and turns and loop de loop curves. The DeLuca Family is one series that is a must have reading list.
Corso and Jessie, they are the quintessentially the ideal couple. Their chemistry alone is hot enough to warrant a trip to sit on a block of ice.
This book, NO this entire family is DEFINITELY on my MUST READ BEFORE THE SUMMER IS OVER. And luckily for me, I live in Texas. So summer really doesn’t end…lol…
I’m heading to read Nicolo DeLuca’s story. I can hardly wait.
Any opinions expressed in this review are solely and uniquely made by me and I am happily leaving this review. I originally voluntarily received an advanced copy of THIS book via bsprout. The rest I’m going to read using my KU Account.
Hot dog, brang da dranks, it’s get’n hot upin hura…
This is not abook you can read with your brain..using all you know about the mafia per se. Corso is quietly confident, close to the chest kinda guy but very, very observant of the faintest actions. Agent Jessie NuCalla came in with the goal of payback and found that who she was avenging didn't need avenging but for her to understand the connection.
I love how Sierra weaves the story, and just when you think you have it figured out, BAM... it has changed.
The whole Savage line is perfection in motion... I love how they are connected by blood and then connected to the authors books. Excellent, excellent series!!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
it started off that special agent Nucalla was looking for the person who killed her partner and stumbled into The Governor. she found herself in the arms and the bed of Corso Deluca, trying to reason why she was experiencing feelings for a criminal. why she was so attracted to him, until she stumbled across more pictures that revealed a famililial likeness. and it was proven that they were brothers. and as hard as she fought being attracted to Corso, it was too late. and he wanted to know who had killed his brother just as bad as she did. and together, they solved that mystery. enjoyed the crossover from the BB books. this explained how they got together.
Corso and Jessie...the storyline was a little better, but too short to flesh out much realistically. Her having to flesh out her life choices for love right after a gun fight?!?! There was so much that came at you so quickly, that wasn't clearly given or even mentioned... but was weaved in like we knew as an audience. The dynamics of Jessie/Greg/Corso, there was a lot going on that didn't have enough pages to develop. However, Corso did give mafia boss. I'm also guessing I'm getting douped out of the extra epilogue. Second book that wanted you to sign up for a newsletter for an extra scene and nothing...disappointing and seeing these separate novellas don't really have anything extra from compilation Bloodlines boom
I read this one in the DeLuca Savage Bloodline anthology. While it was entertaining and I enjoyed reading it, Jessie was a woman with too much attitude. Then, Ms. London included that deleted scene as a chapter 19, which I am glad if she did not include it in the final copy. In that scene she had Jessie behaving as if she trying out for a role in a "Ratchet Side Chick" reality show. It was crazy when she was looking down her nose at Corso and his friends and staff!
Just my opinion, but I was disappointed with that look for someone she was writing up as a credible FBI agent, wanting the respect of her colleagues!
The death of FBI Agent Jessie's partner, best friend and lover Greg led her right to Corso's door. All she had was a piece of paper telling her to find Corso DeLuca, she had to figure the rest out. Corso was a boss in every way. He promised his best friend and brother he'd look after Jessie and he planned on keeping that promise at all cost. Mannnnn I love The Governor. It is a fortress that can take care, protect and defend itself. This was an amazing story and I look forward to reading all the DeLuca Bloodline.💚💚
Wow, what an intense experience. I couldn’t wait to get to the next chapters. Lived Corso’s character with Jessie. Cried over Gregorio’s death and Jessie and Corso’s loss. The traitor, Milania, thought she got away with her betrayal but the instruments of her destruction were creepy, big rats. Another traitor was Josie. The twin that Jessie thought was dead but very much alive but working with the enemy and the killer of Gregorio. The best part is Corso’s and Jessie’s commitment to each other. I can’t wait to read more.
Corso operates a self sustaining hotel. Put, he was asked to protect Jessy.
Jessy is an alphabet agent that is looking for clues on the loss of her partner. Jessy has heard all the gossip about the Deluca's and is unprepared for the personality of Corso.
Corso keeps her at the Governor to keep her safe after there was an attempt on her life. They work together to solve the clues left behing by Jessy's partner.
What is a Deluca stoey without, attraction secrets and betrayal?
Short and okay. It was a bit hard to connect with, because she was still in love with the dead boyfriend. This story was too incestuous for my taste. She's still in love with his stepbrother, and he's always been in love with her. This whole "lusting for your brother's woman" thing is a little weird. And don’t get me started with the missing twin! Lord have mercy, what a mess hahahha. Ironically, the deleted scenes were pretty good! Best than most of the scenes in the book. So, don’t understand the thought process behind it. Didn’t hate it, but it was too messy for my taste.
Corso Deluca is truly a genius, when it came to that design of the Governor stretching over for city blocks. That in itself is truly amazing especially with all the amenities one could ask for. Josie went into the Governor with the wrong ideas, and then she emerged knowing the truth. She had a total different attitude and view point towards Corso. This was an excellent read.
OMG! This was just fantastic, it was like being a scene from a John Wick movie. The high tech gadgets in the hotel, makes you think of Mission Impossible. This was really goid writing and there are moments where you are totally invested. The main characters are just so great that you feel like you know them, the chemistry is off the pages. This was just really enjoyable and goid till the end.
The storyline did not appeal to me. The deleted scenes was more interesting and should not have been deleted. The good and evil twin did network for me. A!so Corsa was 13 when attacked and beaten. He is now 48 which means Mattia is much older which makes a relationship with Josie unrealistic.
For some reason I feel like I have this story already in my possession as a part of the savage bloodline series nonetheless it was a great read and contribution to the Deluca's search to find out who killed the Don slight spoiler...sorry onward and upward🙋👏👍😘😍😉😏😊😆😀😃😁😄😅😂😎💓💗💞💘💃😈
There were so many blurred lines when it came to Jessie and Corso coming together. Jessie wasn’t sure what she felt at the beginning but when he touched her, she knew where she belonged. Corso made a promise to keep her safe and man did he, with modern technology the Governor is a safe haven and a killing machine! I love this story and I need me a Corso!!!
I enjoyed this Deluca book. Both characters had really strong personalities that seem to fit together quite perfectly from the beginning. However, Jesse could stand a bit of refinement and humility. It would be nice to know what happened to Josie and how Dani took care of things .
This is a well written book with strong characters in Corso and Jessie. The author weaves an action packed story filled with drama, mystery and a hot and steamy chemistry. The story moves quickly and smoothly with descriptive scenes and is a great read.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
I teared up during the first chapter :( I wasn't expecting something kinda major to happen so quickly in the book. Jessie and Corso are good for each other :) I'd love to see their future because although they like each other who's to say it'll stay happy for a long time.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I enjoyed reading this book. It was well written enough to catch and hold my attention all the way to the end. I loved the banter between Corso and Jessie. And their chemistry was scorching. There’s some mystery, twists, surprises, secrets, and drama. This is a very good read. *this was a complimentary copy and this is my honest review
