Book 1:
Im very much a member of the “If Eva Ashwood writes it then ill read it club”.
I love love love Reverse Harem and anything either College based or around that age frame.
I read Dirty broken Savages before anything else she wrote, and meet these Mcs along that journey. So I do know the outcome, however I still wanna go along for the ride to see how they got there.
I have fallen madly in love with Mercy, she is such a badass! I really hope she doesn’t lose it along the way. I want her to be able to hold her won right to the bitter end.
My predictions for book 2 will be that her dad faked his death with Sloans help, and that Sloan will kill his father and take over the black roses….. This is my prediction for now.
Book 2
Ohhhh man do I love Reverse haram!
Lets just normalise this style of life and all go out and get ourselves a harem. The way of life would be amazing and perfect!
“We just like different things in women,” Levi continues, confirming what I thought. “But that all sort of went out the window when you came to live with us. There’s just something about you.”
I love the revenge that Mercy comes up with. And frankly its deserved, they keep secrets from her, and she felt terrible the whole time. She didnt want to do what she did, but she wanted revenge for her dad. Im totally down with what happened.
“Maybe if we’d met in other circumstances,” he murmurs, half sounding like he’s talking to himself. “Maybe things could have been different. I don’t know. But I think something amazing could have happened between us.”
Salon has so much held inside… I mean dose he just blow a top?
Totally enjoyed the ride in book 2! Starting book 3 right now!
Book 3

I freaking loved this! I love sloan, I really really do! What is it about emotionally cut of men, alpha holes and possessive grumpiness that just get my ovaries to go into overdrive??
“How the fuck did you know I’d like this so much?” he asks. “Watching you get fucked by my friends like that?”
Rory is so dam sweet, but I feel like if you ever pissed him off he would kill you without blinking! Levi always seems so sweet and calm…. Im wondering if he has another side at all? Sloan man do we get to see all of him in this book… and I love lover love him. What is about walking on egg shells around a male that just makes me melt!
“I protect what I care about too,” he murmurs. “Always. And I’ll fucking kill anyone who hurts you.”
Highly recommend! I cannot wait to see where book 4 lands!
Book 4
Man oh man!
Ok ive read most of Eva Ashwoods books, completely out of order.
“Mercy,” he says quietly, beginning with my name again. It feels so significant when he says it, and I can’t look away from him. “I love you. I want to be a part of your life, always. I want you by my side, and I want to protect you and take care of you forever. Will you marry me?”
This was meant to be the first series in the Dark Love universe. It doesn’t matter if it read out of order but I do wish that I had rad in order. A lot of small things out of the others would ahem made a lot more sense.
“So maybe it’s happened a little quickly in the grand scheme of things,” I continue, “but I don’t think it’s too fast. Because whether the wedding part happens now or later, I want to be with them forever. They’ve gotten under my skin, and I want to keep them there.”
I got so excited when the “ghost” came into the story! I want are read them all so I can find the little bits that tie them all together now.
“What we really need is a dress that says ‘yes, hello, I am the proud owner of my own personal harem,’”
Book4 was amazing! Fast paced and had so much spice. I was totally happy with the ride. I read a lot of Rh and Eva dose Rh very very well, I love the struggles they have to get the ending, and I love the endings.
“But each of these three men fits perfectly to a part of my soul. And all four of us? We make a perfect whole.”

Fight Dirty - book 1
This book certainly packs a punch that completely knocks you out and has you reeling afterwards. Mercy (FMC) ends up in the hands of The Black Roses gang (Sloan, Levi and Rory) after her dad refuses to do something they tell him too. With that brings a load of complications. Namely a guy shes had one steamy night with, a flirty and funny guy with a secret and a moody, argumentative guy who seems to rub her up the wrong way. I cant tell you how much i loved this book
Play Rough - book 2
Mercy (FMC) (and from book 1 her dad too) are stuck right in the middle of a gang war where things get not only complicated but dangerous too. The steam level have certainly gone up a lot in this book too especially withe dynamic between Mercy, Levi & Rory. Sloan is more difficult but things are getting more interesting with him. That ending though was just killer!!!
Wreak Havoc - book 3
Omg i just want to scream noooooooooooooo at that ending!!!
Sigh flaming hell this book just killed it in so many ways. Gun fights, punch ups, dodgy family making appearances, murder attempts and two warring gangs that put Mercy & the guys (Sloan, Rory & Levi) right in the middle of it all. As well as them still trying to gain back the trust they lost in the last book
Love Hard - book 4
With that jaw dropping ending to book 3, book 4 kicks off where that ended. Rory has been shot and the reprocussions of that are felt through the whole group. Mercy (FMC), Sloan & Levi especially. What it does is galvanise them into action against rival gang - The Jackals. Which in turn brings on a few brilliant plot twists that keep you on your toes. This last book definitely packs a punch and ends perfectly. With all the loose ends tied up nicely.
Its a brilliant series with cracking characters. I cant praise it up enough

This series follows Mercy whose father gets in trouble with a local gang called the Black Roses. She is forced to live with three members of the gang Sloan whose father is the leader, Levi who she has had a past with and Rory a flirtatious who gives of golden retriever vibes. Mercy is determined to get to the bottom of what’s going on with her dad and the gang. Can she find out the truth before it’s too late and she loses the only person she has left?
Fight Dirty - Book 1
I loved this first book Mercy is such a strong FMC. The whole plot with the dad was great. Sloan is mysterious and grumpy, Levi is a past fling but also cares and Rory feels like a golden retriever with flirty energy. Rory’s reveal in the book when she followed him was fantastic. I did not see that coming or the ending as a matter of fact. Really solid start to the series and the narration is also well done by Cassandra Medcalf.

This book was great and infuriating at the same time. I loved the plot of this but I was screaming that’s not a good idea and you shouldn’t do that the whole time. I love how the men don’t mind sharing but get a little jealous. This ended on a cliffhanger, so I’m excited for the next book just wish the ending few chapters were done a little differently to really put me on edge.

I loved this first book Mercy is such a strong FMC. The whole plot with the dad was great. I LOVED the series
Book 1 - Fight Dirty

I mean, getting "k!dnapped" by a gang because your dad "played" with the wrong people... 😖
But to be honest, if I ever get k!dnapped, I want it to be by 3 hot guys, too 😎 Who wouldn't? 😉
I'm not sure what to think of the guys right now, especially with the ending of this book, HELP what a cliffhanger 🤯 Yes, I know, duets, trilogies, quadrology, or whatever need cliffhangers, and to be honest, yes, I particularly love them. At least when I have the next book(s)! And yes, all 4 books of this series are already published 🤩
They are very different. Sloan is the son of the gang leader, so he is the heir of the gang. He isn't showing much about himself. But he shows possessiveness. OK, all three show possessiveness, but he the most.
Levi is 🔥, definitely! He and Mercy have a tiny bit of history, that's why it seems like he thinks he has a few "privileges". Kinda like he had "claimed" Mercy already 🙈
Last but not least, there is Rory. And wow, I didn't expect him to be 🤐 Not sure how much of a secret it is that he has, but right now... 😳 How to describe him? I wouldn't call him sensitive, I mean, they are all gang members and possessive and everything, but he seems to be more "easy". He is the funny and definitely flirty one 😁
You want to know more? Then either read the book, which I really recommend 👍, or wait for my next review 😁

I thought the cliffhanger from book 1 was 🤯 But THIS one!!! 🤯🤯 OK, I know it has to have a HEA, so it's obviously not what everyone would think in the first moment, but... HOLY MONTH OF CLIFFHANGERS!!! To be honest, with every cliffhanger I'm reading, the more I start to love them 🙈🤣
I already introduced the guys in my review for book 1. What I didn't tell you was what I think about them 😎
I couldn't connect with Sloan instantly, and I think that's what the author wanted to while writing 😁 And by the end of book 1, I really hated him. That didn't change in this one, because of the same reasons as book 1. 🤬🤬🤬
My favorite is definitely Rory. As I said in my last review, he is funny, and he flirts a lot. He cares a lot about the people he loves. And there is this "secret".
And Liam? I'm not so sure about my feelings for him. I mean, he is 🔥 and he is 🔥, that has to be enough right now 🤣
The chemistry between the guys and Mercy is definitely better than between the guys and me right now 🤣 I love it when they are enemies, but the attraction is just so 🧲 They can't stop it. And the 🌶️ is 🫠 I'm looking forward to the point when they decide they go for it all 4 😎

This freaking cliffhanger 🤯 🤯 🤯 But remember, the series is already completely published, so you don't need to wait and just continue reading the next book 😁
This series has so much action in it. Lots of 🔫 and 🩸 😲 I would say that's typically for a dark romance book with gangs. Especially when there are two gangs that are huge rivals. There is no official vvar, but with the leadership change... Yeah, you know how it mostly goes down... 😖
And I love it 🤣 At least in books. I definitely don't want anything like that in real life!!!!
Yes, there is also 🌶️ action. And let me tell you, yes, they finally had an MFMM scene 🥵 All three guys are in a 1:1 already super 🔥 But all together, holy muther of smut 🫠 They definitely love to give 😍
I'm still team Rory, but Sloan is getting better by now. I'm not telling you what his problem is/was, but he's getting better, that have to be enough 😉
While you read this review, I've already read the final book, because as I said, this cliffhanger 🤯🤯🤯 It would ☠️ me otherwise.

Mercy and her guys really went through so much 😲 This series is full of everything. I already said it, it's a lot of action. This whole gang stuff... 🤯
I really loved it.
I'm not sure what to say anymore. Yeah, that's a bit of a problem with 4 books and not wanting to give any spoilers.
This is the second series I've read by Eva, and I can say, it won't be the last. I have a lot of other series on my TBR for 2026, and I've by now also read more in 2025, too.
And I'm so curious about this one character's story, who just briefly appeared in this book 🤩
There are still two more series on my 2025 TBR (yes, you know I'm so much behind posting my review here... 🙈).
I highlight recommend Eva's books to everyone who loves dark why choose romance. I'm very picky with why choose, but Eva knows how to write it. There is a lot of 🌶️ here, and still, it's not that it would reduce any plot. On the contrary, there is sooo much happening in so many directions. And there are twists in the story... 🤐

I'm not sure what to think of the guys right now, especially with the ending of this book, HELP what a cliffhanger 🤯 Yes, I know, duets, trilogies, quadrology, or whatever need cliffhangers, and to be honest, yes, I particularly love them. At least when I have the next book(s)! And yes, all 4 books of this series are already published 🤩
They are very different. Sloan is the son of the gang leader, so he is the heir of the gang. He isn't showing much about himself. But he shows possessiveness. OK, all three show possessiveness, but he the most.
Levi is 🔥, definitely! He and Mercy have a tiny bit of history, that's why it seems like he thinks he has a few "privileges". Kinda like he had "claimed" Mercy already 🙈
Last but not least, there is Rory. And wow, I didn't expect him to be 🤐 Not sure how much of a secret it is that he has, but right now... 😳 How to describe him? I wouldn't call him sensitive, I mean, they are all gang members and possessive and everything, but he seems to be more "easy". He is the funny and definitely flirty one 😁

I thought the cliffhanger from book 1 was 🤯 But THIS one!!! 🤯🤯 OK, I know it has to have a HEA, so it's obviously not what everyone would think in the first moment, but... HOLY MONTH OF CLIFFHANGERS!!! To be honest, with every cliffhanger I'm reading, the more I start to love them 🙈🤣
I already introduced the guys in my review for book 1. What I didn't tell you was what I think about them 😎
I couldn't connect with Sloan instantly, and I think that's what the author wanted to while writing 😁 And by the end of book 1, I really hated him. That didn't change in this one, because of the same reasons as book 1. 🤬🤬🤬
My favorite is definitely Rory. As I said in my last review, he is funny, and he flirts a lot. He cares a lot about the people he loves. And there is this "secret".
And Liam? I'm not so sure about my feelings for him. I mean, he is 🔥 and he is 🔥, that has to be enough right now 🤣
The chemistry between the guys and Mercy is definitely better than between the guys and me right now 🤣 I love it when they are enemies, but the attraction is just so 🧲 They can't stop it. And the 🌶️ is 🫠 I'm looking forward to the point when they decide they go for it all 4 😎

This series has so much action in it. Lots of 🔫 and 🩸 😲 I would say that's typically for a dark romance book with gangs. Especially when there are two gangs that are huge rivals. There is no official vvar, but with the leadership change... Yeah, you know how it mostly goes down... 😖
And I love it 🤣 At least in books. I definitely don't want anything like that in real life!!!!
Yes, there is also 🌶️ action. And let me tell you, yes, they finally had an MFMM scene 🥵 All three guys are in a 1:1 already super 🔥 But all together, holy muther of smut 🫠 They definitely love to give 😍
I'm still team Rory, but Sloan is getting better by now. I'm not telling you what his problem is/was, but he's getting better, that have to be enough 😉

I'm not sure what to say anymore. Yeah, that's a bit of a problem with 4 books and not wanting to give any spoilers.
This is the second series I've read by Eva, and I can say, it won't be the last. I have a lot of other series on my TBR for 2026, and I've by now also read more in 2025, too.
And I'm so curious about this one character's story, who just briefly appeared in this book 🤩
There are still two more series on my 2025 TBR (yes, you know I'm so much behind posting my review here... 🙈).
I highlight recommend Eva's books to everyone who loves dark why choose romance. I'm very picky with why choose, but Eva knows how to write it. There is a lot of 🌶️ here, and still, it's not that it would reduce any plot. On the contrary, there is sooo much happening in so many directions. And there are twists in the story... 🤐

This book was spicy ! The story line was decent but it felt a bit dragged on. Then the spice got to be a bit much and seems like it became the plot.

I highlighted 149 repetitive phrases like "rolled my eyes", "lick my lip", & "eyebrows shoot up" throughout this series & it was so irritating. I'm surprised the FMC had eyes left and the men had eyebrows left. There are 4 books (Fight Dirty, Play Rough, Wreak Havoc & Love Hard). The first book started out strong with Mercy as a bad ass tough girl who gets kidnapped for collateral because her dad crossed the black rose gang and it goes downhill from there. She claims she's kidnapped but the three men (Sloan, Levi, & Rory) take her to their house, escort her to college classes, & let her come and go so it's not really "kidnapped" She's already hooked up with Levi previously and of course is attracted to each guy which becomes a f*ckfest where she always has at least five orga%ms and then an hour later has to have s^x again.. The first three books end in cliffhangers setting up for the next book. The story started strong and then was boring, there was no mention of safe sex while screwing three different guys in cringy sex scenes that went on for five pages and then repeated with the next guy, not much background info on how the guys joined the gang except Sloan, & the gangs run the city but what do they actually do and how do they make their money was never addressed. Not worth the read and I read it because it was free back in December 2023.

i got this book when i purchased eva ashwood's other series that i completed this month. i was not aware it was 4 books in one so my review will be as a whole and not individually just like her other series, i felt like this one had alot of repetitiveness with the spicy parts and at one point i was bored. the multiple plot twists and how fast pace the plot was kept me turning pages and made it a tad easier to finish, the characters seem similar to the other series, thats probably why i liked it because i did love the characters in the other series. the personalities and their individuality were perfect. i loved rory the whole way through. he was giving the right amount of banter and care mixed with danger. sloan at first i was like wtf i hate himmm but after a while i was like okay wait i may like him the most now levi was just ehh. gave nice guy vibes and we all know i love me a jerk. i liked that it was all from mercys pov, im so tired of the multi-pov books lately so this was deft a great change up.

Sloan, Rory, and Levi are just another group of men that think she will cower to them. Little do they know that she’s a feisty one. This series is full of twists and turns and secrets and double crossing and everything good. It has moments that will rip your heart out and moments that will make your heart race, and steamy moments that are so hot you’ll sweat. This is one of my favorite series!

This was my second read through of the series. I love Eva Ashwood, and I really like how her stories build over each other.
But coming back to Black Rose Kisses after a while had me seeing how much she evolved and developed her storytelling.
Don’t get me wrong, I love the characters and the story. However, having knowledge of everything she’s put out after this put things into perspective. The development of the conflict in this series is not as fully fledged as in her newest works, and somethings get less explanation than tou’d expect.
However, the characters are absolutely amazing, and you fall in love with them really easily. And Eva’s spice is just off the charts.

The Black Roses Kisses seires was one of the best written seires I've read so far this year. The plot was excellent and the characters were mind blowing. The unexpected twist and turns kept me on my toes! I love this book! I loved Mercys story from start to finish! Her journey to her HEA was filled with plenty of drama, heartbreak and heartache but it was also filled with love and forgiveness and enough steam to melt anyone's heart.

I enjoyed this fast paced new series by Ms Ashwood. The series is full of secrets and revenge that makes for action packed reading. Sloan, Levi, and Rory are swoon worthy as all get out and I love Sloan's alphahole attitude. Their fight for their happy ending is hard won and lasts almost the whole book. I always feel like the HEA is so much sweeter when they have to really earn it. And Mercy and her men fight like hell for it. Another amazing series from Ms Ashwood!

Mercy is my kind of FMC; strong, loyal and willing to fight for the ones she loves. The guys might of started out as jerks but they quickly figure out she is their queen. I enjoyed the suspense of the gang element of the story. I listened to the series this time, other than wishing for more narrators (duel or duet) to help differentiate at times, it was not bad. Overall 4.25 stars. TW/18+

I really enjoyed reading Mercy, Levi, Rory and Sloans story. I like how it is in the same world as the “Dirty Broken Savages” and “Filthy Wicked Psychos” series’. I would have loved to read bonus chapters or standalones on Jen’s story, or even Scarlett’s too. A special Thank you goes out to the author for creating such a spectacular world between all the characters and crossovers. Loved them all!

Excellent series
I love this series! Mercy and her men are perfect together, completing each other like puzzle pieces. Mercy is definitely a strong FMC who takes no crap from anyone and I love that. She’s not perfect and makes mistakes but knows when she does how to make things right. These books are filled with heat and suspense as well. Excellent series.

Fast-paced and filled with action, plot turns, and cliffhangers. I didn't love it as much as I have been loving some of Ashwood's other series. I'm not the biggest single-POV fan, and--dare I say it? Can it be true?--there's maybe almost too many sex scenes? I did love the cameo from Ghost/River though.

This series was great. One badass FMC living with 3 dudes is exactly the kind of story I was looking for. Romance and action packed, this book kept my attention all the way through!

Excellent Read!
Hot and spicy with twists and turns you never expect and that is what makes for a great book. I love the characters, the plot, just everything about this book and it was refreshing to not find any grammatical errors! I highly recommend this book if you love this genre!

This was a miss
I've read other book series by Eva Ashwood and I loved them but this was a miss for me. It felt like two different people wrote this. The spicy scenes were fine but the dialogue felt like an afterthought. Dirty Broken Savages and Filthy Wicked Psychos are amazing though.

Eva Ashwood surely knows how to keep us wanting more! Mercy will make you before for Mercy and so will Sloan, Rory, and Levi in the most delicious and vicious ways possible I couldn’t stop reading! Finished this whole series in just under 24 hours! Loved it!

Very enjoyable great reading
I really enjoyed this book and loved the characters. I'm glad everything worked out for them and they got back at the Jackals and her father when he told her.
